Nanocomposites of high-density polyethylene/linear low-density polyethylene (HDPE/LLDPE) filled with untreated and surface treated nano-calcium carbonate (nCC) were prepared. The influence of isopropyl tri-(dioctylpyrophosphato) titanate (JN114) treatment of nCC on the morphology, mechanical, crystallization and flow properties of the nanocomposites were studied. The results of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed that JN114 treated nCC was better dispersion in the matrix than the untreated one. A fine dispersion of the treated nanoparticles in the nanocomposites was observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The FTIR spectrum analysis revealed that the JN114 could change the surface properties of nCC, resulting in greater hydrophobicity of the surface and enhanced compatibility with nonpolar matrices. The tensile elastic modulus (E c ) and Izod impact strength (SIC) of nanocomposites increased with the increasing of nCC content while tensile fracture strength (σ b ) decreased. The JN114 treated nanocomposites had superior mechanical properties to those of the untreated ones. The compatibility of these nanocomposites was examined by DSC to estimate melting point (T m ) and crystallization temperature (T c ). Furthermore, the melt flow index (MFI) of the nanocomposite materials were measured. It was found that the MFI decreased with the addition of weight fraction of the nCC particles.  相似文献

The metabolites of three species of Apiaceae, also known as Pegaga, were analyzed utilizing (1)H NMR spectroscopy and multivariate data analysis. Principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) resolved the species, Centella asiatica, Hydrocotyle bonariensis, and Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides, into three clusters. The saponins, asiaticoside and madecassoside, along with chlorogenic acids were the metabolites that contributed most to the separation. Furthermore, the effects of growth-lighting condition to metabolite contents were also investigated. The extracts of C. asiatica grown in full-day light exposure exhibited a stronger radical scavenging activity and contained more triterpenes (asiaticoside and madecassoside), flavonoids, and chlorogenic acids as compared to plants grown in 50% shade. This study established the potential of using a combination of (1)H NMR spectroscopy and multivariate data analyses in differentiating three closely related species and the effects of growth lighting, based on their metabolite contents and identification of the markers contributing to their differences.  相似文献

Coir fibers were modified with methyl acrylate (MA) mixed with methanol (MeOH) under thermal curing method at different temperatures (40?C80 °C) for different curing times (20?C60 min). A series of solutions of different concentrations of MA in methanol along with 2 % benzoyl peroxide, were prepared. Monomer concentration, curing temperature, and curing time were optimized with the extent of grafting of monomer and mechanical properties of cured fiber and found to be 30 % MA, 60 °C and 40 min curing time registered as better performance (Grafting (Gr) = 5.7 %, tensile strength (TS) = 72 %, elongation at break (Eb) = 88 %) than those of untreated fiber. For further improvement of the properties, untreated coir fibers were pretreated with gamma and UV radiations at different doses and then pretreated fibers were soaked in the optimized monomer and cured under optimum conditions. Coir fiber pretreated with UV radiation and grafted with optimized monomer showed the best properties such as Gr (7.12 %), TS (132 %), and Eb (153 %) over raw fiber. Water uptake and simulated weathering test of untreated and treated coir fibers were studied.  相似文献

Nitrogen (N) losses via nitrate (NO3) leaching, ammonia (NH3) volatilization and nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from grazed pastures in New Zealand are one of the major contributors to environmental degradation. The use of N inhibitors (urease and nitrification inhibitors) may have a role in mitigating these N losses. A one-year field experiment was conducted on a permanent dairy-grazed pasture site at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand to quantify these N losses and to assess the effect of N inhibitors in reducing such losses during May 2005-2006. Cow urine at 600 kg N ha−1 rate with or without urease inhibitor N-(n-butyl) thiophosphoric triamide (nBTPT) or (trade name “Agrotain”) (3 L ha−1), nitrification inhibitor dicyandiamide (DCD) (7 kg ha−1) and the use of double inhibitor (DI) containing a combination of both Agrotain and DCD (3:7) were applied to field plots in autumn, spring and summer. Pasture production, NH3 and N2O fluxes, soil mineral N concentrations, microbial biomass C and N, and soil pH were measured following the application of treatments during each season. All measured parameters, except soil microbial biomass C and N, were influenced by the added inhibitors during the three seasons. Agrotain reduced NH3 emissions over urine alone by 29%, 93% and 31% in autumn, spring and summer respectively but had little effect on N2O emission. DCD reduced N2O emission over urine alone by 52%, 39% and 16% in autumn, spring and summer respectively but increased NH3 emission by 56%, 9% and 17% over urine alone during those three seasons. The double inhibitor reduced NH3 by 14%, 78% and 9% and N2O emissions by 37%, 67% and 28% over urine alone in autumn, spring and summer respectively. The double inhibitor also increased pasture dry matter by 10%, 11% and 8% and N uptake by the 17%, 28% and 10% over urine alone during autumn, spring and summer respectively. Changes in soil mineral N and pH suggested a delay in urine-N hydrolysis with Agrotain, and reduced nitrification with DCD. The combination of Agrotain and DCD was more effective in reducing both NH3 and N2O emissions, improving pasture production, controlling urea hydrolysis and retaining N in NH4+ form. These results suggest that the combination of both urease and nitrification inhibitors may have the most potential to reduce N losses if losses are associated with urine and improve pasture production in intensively grazed systems.  相似文献

In this research work, multifunctional cotton fabric comprising of UV protection, superhydrophobicity and antibacterial activity has been developed using facile pad-dry-cure method. In the first step, the concentration of repellent chemical has been optimized. Then, formulations containing nanoparticles of ZnO or TiO2 along with optimized concentration of repellent chemical and organic-inorganic binder have been applied to cotton fabric followed by the evaluation of functional properties. The surface morphology and elemental composition of treated fabric has been characterized through SEM and EDX, respectively. The treated samples have shown promising UV protection, superhydrophobicity and antibacterial properties durable upto 20 washing cycles.  相似文献

Jute fabrics (hessian cloth) reinforced polypropylene (PP) matrix composites (45 wt% fiber) were fabricated by compression molding. Jute fabrics were treated with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) using ultraviolet radiation in order to improve the mechanical properties of the composites. Concentration of HEMA, soaking time and radiation dose were optimized. It was found that 15% HEMA in methanol along with photoinitiator Darocur-1173 (2 %), 10 min soaking time and 20th pass of radiation rendered better performance. Urea of different concentrations (0.5–2 %) was incorporated with 15 % HEMA to monitor its effect on the properties and 1 % urea revealed the best results. For the improvement of the properties, jute fabrics were treated with potassium permanganate (KMnO4) solution in acetone of different concentrations (0.02, 0.03, 0.05, and 0.5 %) at different soaking times (1, 2, 3, and 5 min) before the composite fabrication. Optimized jute fabrics (jute fabrics treated with 0.03 % KMnO4) were again treated with HEMA (15 %) solution along with urea (1 %) and promising improvement of mechanical properties of the composites was observed. Scanning electron microscopy, water uptake, soil degradation and thermal aging of the treated and untreated composites were also performed.  相似文献

Jute yarns were cured with acrylic acid (AA) and phosphoric acid (PA) using UV radiation in order to prepare selective ion adsorbent. A series of formulations were prepared in methanol containing varying percentages of (10–70 %) of AA and 2 % photo-initiator (PI) (Darocur-4043). jute yarns were soaked in this formulation for various soaking times (10–30 min) and cured under UV radiation of different intensities (20–50 UV passes). Concentration of AA, soaking time and intensity of UV radiation were optimized based on polymer loading (PL). The maximum PL (21 %) was observed for 50 % AA solution for 20 min soaking time at 40 UV passes. Various formulations were prepared using 5–15 % (w/w) of phosphoric acid, 50 % AA and 2 % PI in methanol. Then jute yarns were soaked in this solution for 20 min and irradiated at 40th UV pass. The concentration of PA was again optimized for maximum PL. It was found that the formulation containing 10 % PA, 50 % AA, 38 % methanol and 2 % PI showed 70.95 % of PL. To investigate the adsorbent behavior, a 10 ppm CuSO4 solution was prepared and then grafted yarns were soaked in the solutions for 30–300 min at different conditions. After withdrawing the yarns, the remaining copper in the solution were measured by atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). It was revealed that copper was successfully removed by using the grafted jute yarns.  相似文献

比较了天然林和森林采伐区土壤理化性质,评价了森林采伐对土壤的影响。采集了自然林和邻近的采伐林地三个土层(表层、中层和底层)土壤,对其属性进行了调查。森林土壤颗粒大小分布无显著变化。森林表层土和中层土体积密度存在显著差异。林地内表层土和中层土壤pH、表层土有机质和中层土有效磷均显著高于采伐林地的值。两块林地内可交换Na+和阳离子交换能力没有变化。这些结果表明,两块林地内表层和亚表层土壤变化较明显。森林采伐降低土壤理化性质。  相似文献

Forty-eight steers were used to study the influence of feeding soybean oil (SO) on the conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) content of beef. Steers were fed either a control diet containing 954 g/kg of dry matter (DM) corn-based concentrate (CTL) or a control diet supplemented with SO at 20 (SO2) or 40 g/kg (SO4) of diet DM for 105 days. Adipose tissue samples were collected from the M. longissimus dorsi (LD) and from the M. semitendinosus (ST) on days 0 and 63 of the experiment. Adipose and muscle tissue samples were collected from the LD and ST immediately after slaughter. Feeding 40 g/kg of DM as SO increased the proportions of trans-C(18:1) in beef lipid as compared to CTL and SO2 treatments. The C(18:2) cis-9, trans-11 isomer of CLA as a proportion of total fat was not different in adipose and muscle across treatments. Supplementing SO increased C(18:2) trans-10, cis-12 CLA in adipose tissue of the LD. Supplementing high-grain finishing diets with SO is not an effective strategy to enhance the C(18:2) cis-9, trans-11 isomer of CLA in beef.  相似文献
