Interactions between vesicular-arbuscular (VA) mycorrhizal fungi and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria were studied in a low-phosphate alkaline soil amended with 0, 0.1% and 0.5% rock phosphate. Endogone (E3 and yellow vacuolate spore types) and two bacteria able to solubilize rock phosphate in vitro and produce plant growth regulating substances were used as inocula. Lavender (Lavandula spica var. vera L.) plants with mycorrhiza plus bacteria (either E3 plus bacteria or “yellow vacuolate” plus bacteria treatments) took up more total P than plants with either Endogone or bacteria separately at each concentration of rock phosphate. Plants not inoculated with bacteria or Endogone derived no benefit from the rock phosphate.  相似文献

Stress relaxation in the wall of a gas bubble, as measured by the alveograph, was used to study surface tension at the gas-dough interface of doughs from flours producing differing bread crumb grains. The surface tensions in the various wheat flour doughs were not different. Dough rheological properties, as measured by both dynamic oscillatory rheometry and lubricated uniaxial compression, were not different for doughs made from wheat flours that gave breads with different crumb grains. However, when the effect of starch granule size on gas cell wall stability was tested, the presence of a greater proportion of large starch granules in wheat flour dough was sufficient to result in gas cell coalescence and open crumb grain in the final baked product. This suggests that starch granule size is at least one of the factors that affects the crumb grain of bread.  相似文献

Scanning electron microscopy was used to study gas cell size, shape, and distribution throughout the breadmaking process. Flours that produced bread with a relatively good grain and a relatively poor grain were used. Micrographs of the dough samples were taken at mixing; before and after each of two punches; before and after panning; after proofing; and after 12, 18, and 24 min (complete) of baking. No differences were found between the two flours at any dough stage. However, after 12 min of baking, the cell distributions were different between the doughs. These results suggest that the crumb grain differentiates during the early stages of baking. The changes documented during this time, i.e., cells becoming larger and the cell walls thicker, indicate that some gas cells coalesce during the early stages of baking and that this is reflected in the crumb grain of the bread.  相似文献

Diamond may be grown at low pressures where it is the metastable form of carbon. Recent advances in a wide variety of plasma and electrical discharge methods have led to dramatic increases in growth rates. All of these methods have certain aspects in common, namely, the presence of atomic hydrogen and the production of energetic carbon-containing fragments under conditions that support high mobilities on the diamond surface. Some understanding of the processes taking place during nucleation and growth of diamond has been achieved, but detailed molecular mechanisms are not yet known. Related research has led to the discovery of a new class of materials, the "diamondlike" phases. Vapor-grown diamond and diamondlike materials may have eventual applications in abrasives, tool coatings, bearing surfaces, electronics, optics, tribological surfaces, and corrosion protection.  相似文献

Desmin has been suggested as a possible histopathological marker for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) in humans. To test whether a similar pattern of desmin staining applies to HCM in cats, we conducted an immunohistochemical study on myocardial samples from 13 cats (HCM 4, other cardiomyopathies (OCM) 4, and control 5). The pattern of staining for desmin in HCM cats was not the same as that reported in humans, but was weaker than in OCM cats and controls. This suggested that desmin may be a possible histochemical marker for feline HCM, but our data was insufficient to clearly confirm this.  相似文献

The treatment of young guayule plants with 2-(3,4-dichlorophenoxy)-triethylamine stimulated the accumulation of polyisoprenoid rubber in the stem and root tissues. This finding suggests that rubber productivity can be improved by the use of chemical agents on guayule and other rubber-forming plants.  相似文献
