Entomophaga aulicae (Hoffman in Bail) Batko (Zygomycotina: Entomophthorales) was found to cause epizootics in Spilarctia obliqua (Walker) (Arctiidae: Lepidoptera), a polyphagous pest in Manipur, India. Infected caterpillars climbed to elevated positions
on plants where they hung upside down, attached by their abdominal prolegs. Infection levels reached up to 57%. The conidiophores
are simple, conidia are ovoid to pyriform in shape, and the nuclei stained readily in aceto-orcein. Secondary, tertiary conidia
and resting spores were also observed. No rhizoids and cystidia were found. This is the first report of E. aulicae infecting S. obliqua in Manipur. 相似文献

辽宁省蔬菜灰霉病菌对嘧霉胺的抗药性 总被引:1,自引:1,他引:1
2006年从辽宁省不同地区采集蔬菜灰霉病果或病叶,经分离共获得灰霉病菌株86株。采用菌丝生长速率法测定了其对嘧霉胺的敏感性。试验结果表明,灰霉病菌对嘧霉胺产生中等水平抗药性,抗性频率为17.41%。经紫外、药剂联合诱导获得了高抗菌株,抗性倍数最高达62.78倍。嘧霉胺与多菌灵和腐霉利间不存在交互抗药性,苯胺基嘧啶类杀菌剂之间存在交互抗性。野生抗性菌株具有较好的遗传稳定性,连续转接9次后抗药性无明显下降。不同菌株的菌丝生长速度、鲜重和产孢量存在明显差异,但该差异与灰霉病菌对嘧霉胺的敏感性无相关性。 相似文献

Corynespora leaf disease poses a serious threat to rubber cultivation because infected leaves develop necrotic lesions and
abscise, leaving the tree unproductive. The destructiveness of Corynespora cassiicola has been largely attributed to cassiicolin, a protein toxin secreted by the fungus. Recombinant antibody technology offers
hope to curtail the disease whereby single-chain variable fragments (scFv) specific to cassiicolin could bind and deactivate
the toxin in genetically modified rubber trees that harbour the antibody gene. A scFv phage library was constructed from heavy
and light variable chains of IgG from cassiicolin immunized Balb/C mice spleen. Biopanning of the phage library yielded a
scFv clone with high specificity to cassiicolin. The nucleotide sequence and deduced amino acid sequence information of the
scFv were obtained. Hemagglutinin (HA)-tagged scFv expressed in Escherichia coli is discerned as a band at ca. 30 kDa on SDS-PAGE, and the corresponding band was detected by anti-HA IgG on a Western immunoblot.
Deactivation of cassiicolin by the affinity-purified scFv was demonstrated in a detached-leaf bio-assay on selected susceptible
Hevea clones (PB 260, RRIM 2020, RRIM 901 and RRIM 929). The assay was also performed on clones that are relatively more resistant
to the fungus (RRIM 600 and GT-1), and the results were as expected. Thus, we have successfully demonstrated that the cassicolin-specific

Agent-based modelling is an approach that has been receiving attention by the land use modelling community in recent years,
mainly because it offers a way of incorporating the influence of human decision-making on land use in a mechanistic, formal,
and spatially explicit way, taking into account social interaction, adaptation, and decision-making at different levels. Specific
advantages of agent-based models include their ability to model individual decision-making entities and their interactions,
to incorporate social processes and non-monetary influences on decision-making, and to dynamically link social and environmental
processes. A number of such models are now beginning to appear—it is timely, therefore, to review the uses to which agent-based
land use models have been put so far, and to discuss some of the relevant lessons learnt, also drawing on those from other
areas of simulation modelling, in relation to future applications. In this paper, we review applications of agent-based land
use models under the headings of (a) policy analysis and planning, (b) participatory modelling, (c) explaining spatial patterns
of land use or settlement, (d) testing social science concepts and (e) explaining land use functions. The greatest use of
such models so far has been by the research community as tools for organising knowledge from empirical studies, and for exploring
theoretical aspects of particular systems. However, there is a need to demonstrate that such models are able to solve problems
in the real world better than traditional modelling approaches. It is concluded that in terms of decision support, agent-based
land-use models are probably more useful as research tools to develop an underlying knowledge base which can then be developed
together with end-users into simple rules-of-thumb, rather than as operational decision support tools.

Conservation strategies should be based on a solid understanding of processes underlying species response to landscape change.
In forests fragmented by agriculture, elevated nest predation rates have been reported in many forest bird species, especially
near edges. In intensively-managed forest landscapes, timber harvesting might also be associated with negative edge effects
or broader “context” effects on some species when the matrix provides additional resources to their major nest predators.
In this study, we hypothesized that proximity to a forest edge and proportion of cone-producing plantations will increase
nest predation risk in fragments of relatively undisturbed forest. We focused on the Brown Creeper (Certhia americana), an indicator species of late-seral forests. We compared habitat configuration and composition at four spatial scales (0.14,
0.5, 1 and 2 km) around 54 nests and related daily nest survival rate to the distance to the nearest forest edge, mean patch
size of late-seral forest (r = 141 m), proportion of non-forested lands (r = 141 m), density of maintained roads (r = 1 km), proportion of cone-producing spruce plantations (r = 2 km), and year. The best model included distance to the nearest edge and proportion of cone-producing plantations. Distance
of nests to the nearest edge was the best individual predictor of daily nest survival. A larger sample of nests showed a significant
threshold in distance to the nearest forest edge; nests located at least 100 m away were more likely to fledge young. These
results suggest that even in managed forest landscapes, matrix effects can be important and some bird species may exhibit

A panicle blight with sclerotia was found on mango (Mangifera indica L.) in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, in March 2016. Water-soaked lesions with white mycelia developed on panicles in the flowering stage; softening and decay of panicles was followed by formation of sclerotia. The fungus isolated from these sclerotia was identified as Sclerotinia sclerotiorum based on morphology and analysis of rDNA-ITS sequences. The isolate reproduced the symptoms on mango panicles in an inoculation test and was reisolated from flower stalks. This is the first report of sclerotinia rot (kinkaku-byo in Japanese) on mango caused by S. sclerotiorum in Japan. 相似文献

An improved micromechanical shear lag model, which considers the interphase and bonded fiber end, is developed to investigate the load-carrying characteristics and stress profiles in hybrid aramid/sepiolite fiber reinforced rubber composites. The properties of the equivalent matrix, which is combination of sepiolite fiber and rubber matrix, are determined by Mori-Tanaka method. The axial and shear stresses at the fiber end are resolved by the imaginary fiber technique. The results obtained from the improved model show the tensile stress has a maximal at the real fiber center and the interfacial shear stress has a maximal at the end of the real fiber. Comparing with the results from Tsai’s model, the improved model has a better agreement with the numerical simualtion results. The effects of the imaginary fiber length on the stress transfer are analyzed and the results show that the effects can be ignored when the imaginary fiber length is greater than twice of the fiber radius. The effects of interphase modulus and thickness on the maximal axial and shear stresses are discussed. The results show that the interphase modulus and thickness of about 106.3 MPa and 0.2 μm are optimal to prevent interfacial debonding and improve the strength of hybrid fiber reinforced rubber composites. 相似文献

A method for detecting tobamoviruses from field soils was developed using non-precoated indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent
assay (Id-ELISA). Absorbance values in Id-ELISA were relatively low after directly applying Pepper mild mottle virus (PMMoV)-infested soil extract. However, heat treating the soil extract before application greatly enhanced the absorbance
values. The heat treatment was essential for the Id-ELISA detection of tobamoviruses from infested soil, although the efficiency
of virus recovery varied depending on the properties of soil. The number of local lesions in the infectivity assay was consistent
with the absorbance values in Id-ELISA. Moreover, the absorbance values in Id-ELISA were correlated with the incidence of
soil transmission of PMMoV. Thus, Id-ELISA combined with heat treatment is a practical technique for the diagnosis of infestation
with Tobamovirus in field soils, Gray Lowland soil and Sand-dune Regosol.
