In this study, the effect of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) nanoparticles on the barrier properties and biodegradability of polylactic acid (PLA) was investigated. For this purpose, nanocomposite films with various CaCO3 nanoparticle contents (0, 3, 5, 10, and 15 wt%) were prepared by solution casting method. The gas permeability of nitrogen (N2), oxygen (O2), and carbon dioxide (CO2) was evaluated through a constant volume and variable pressure apparatus at different pressures and temperatures. According to results, barrier properties were improved by loading CaCO3 nanoparticles up to 5 wt%, and the gas permeability of CO2, O2, and N2 was decreased from 1.4, 0.31, and 0.07 Barrer to 0.48, 0.095, and 0.019 Barrer, respectively. In addition, it was also observed that the gas permeability of samples was decreased by increasing feeding pressure and increased by enhancing temperature. Furthermore, morphological results confirmed the formation of agglomerations and large clusters over 5 wt% CaCO3 nanoparticles. Finally, the thermal properties and biodegradability of PLA were increased by employing CaCO3 nanoparticles. These results suggested PLA nanocomposites as favorable candidates for food packaging applications.  相似文献

Two barley cultivars (‘Sahara’ = Zn-efficient and ‘Clipper’ = Zn-inefficient) were grown at different soil Zn fertilization (0, 0.2, 0.8, 1.6 and 3.2 mg Zn kg?1 soil). Root exudates were collected 16 and 28 days after sowing. At Zn = 0, shoot dry matter was decreased in both genotypes, but more distinctly in ‘Clipper’. At 0.2 mg Zn kg?1, the ‘Sahara’ shoot concentrations of Zn was 130% higher and shoot Zn content 44% greater compared with ‘Clipper’. Low-molecular-weight organic acid anions (=carboxylates) (malate, maleate, fumarate and cis-aconitate) and amino acids (alanine, valine, proline, aspartic acid and glutamic acid) were detected in root exudates, with the highest concentration at Zn = 0.2 mg kg?1 soil. Higher concentrations of organic acid anions as well as amino acids were noted in the rhizosphere of ‘Sahara’ than ‘Clipper’. The genotypic differences in Zn acquisition from soil may be linked to differential carboxylate and amino acid composition of root exudates.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of marshmallow extract (Althaea officinalis L.) administration on blood cells and biochemical parameters of carp liver. A total of 150 carps (Cyprinus carpio, initial body mass of 37.7 ± 4.4 g) were fed diets containing 0.0 (control diet), 2.5, 5, and 10 g marshmallow extract for 60 days. On days 30 and 60 of the experiment blood samples were collected and hematological parameters and liver enzyme activities—aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine amino transferase (ALT), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP)—were measured. No significant difference was found (p > .05) in red blood cells (RBC); hemoglobin concentration (Hb); hematocrit (Htc); mean corpuscular volume (MCV); mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCH); or the percentage of neutrophils, basophils, and eosinophils in fish fed with different concentrations of marshmallow extract on days 30 and 60. However, the white blood cell (WBC) count was increased significantly in the fish fed for 60 days with feed supplemented with 5 g marshmallow extract (p < .05). The MCHC was increased signi?cantly in ?sh fed with diets supplemented with 2.5 g marshmallow extract for 60 days (p < .05). Administration of marshmallow extract (5 g) significantly increased (p < 0.05) lymphocytes on days 30 and 60. However, dietary intake of 10 g marshmallow extract had significantly decreased the monocyte percentage after 60 days. A significant increase was observed in AST, ALT, ALP, and LDH levels in livers of fish fed with extract 10 g, which may be attributed to cytotoxicity. However, marshmallow extract 2.5 and 5 g did not have adverse effects on liver enzymes. These results indicate that preclinical dietary supplementations of 2.5 and 5 g marshmallow extract per kg diet have no side effects on common carp.  相似文献

In this paper, we presented a simple and inexpensive model of hydroponic system in laboratory. The six halopriming treatments were used in research. One-third strength nutrient solutions used in hydroponic systems. The ionic and osmotic stresses were induced by adding sodium chloride (NaCl) or polyethylenglycol-6000 to the nutrient solution. Each treatment was conducted three replications in a completely randomized design. The results showed that haloprimig significantly decreased the management (MGT) of Lolium perenne as compared with control. Haloprimed with NaCl for 72, 48 h and magnesium chloride (MgCl2) for 24 and 72 h showed significant difference as compared with non-treated seed in same stress level. Indeed, it shows that exposure to sodium chloride and magnesium chloride had a priming effect and seedling emergence was significantly increased in comparison to control. The beneficial effects of NaCl on seed germination is due to the uptake of Na+ and Cl? ions by the seed, thus maintaining a water potential gradient allowing water uptake during seed germination.  相似文献
