Viral neoplastic transformation of hamster prostate tissue in vitro   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Cultures of hamster prostatic tissues infected with simian virus 40 undergo transformation in vitro, and the transformed cells produce malignant tumors when injected into homologous hosts. Tartrate-inhibited acid phosphastase is found in the cultures of transformed cells and in the tumors they produce. Tartrate-inhibited acid phosphatase activity is elevated in the serum of tumor-bearing animals.  相似文献

The therapeutic efficacy and pharmacokinetics of oxytetracycline (10 mg kg-1), ampicillin (20 mg kg-1) and a combination (TSS) of trimethoprim (20 mg kg-1), sulphadimidine (50 mg kg-1) and sulphamethylphenazole (50 mg kg-1) were investigated in normal dwarf goats and in those infected with Ehrlichia phagocytophila. Goats given oxytetracycline or TSS intravenously showed improvement, whereas ampicillin was ineffective. The infected goats had significantly prolonged elimination half-life values for sulphadimidine and oxytetracycline. The disposition kinetics of ampicillin and sulphamethylphenazole showed no marked differences between the healthy and infected animals. The tick-borne fever model used in the present study can be of value in testing the therapeutic efficacy and pharmacokinetics of chemotherapeutic agents in rickettsial infections.  相似文献

This research has been performed to determine the effects of hazelnut crude oil, sunflower crude oil and its refinery by-products over the laying hens performance and the fatty acid composition of the egg’s yolk. Four hundreds 36-week-old Nick Brown layer hens were allocated into five groups. Treatment groups were supplemented with 1.5% of sunflower crude oil, hazelnut crude oil, acidulated sunflower soapstock, acidulated hazelnut soapstock and acidulated hazelnut crude oil. The daily feed consumption for groups that were fed with crude oils were numerically improved as compared for those nourished with acidulated soapstocks. Although the percentages of cracked and broken eggs in acidulated hazelnut soapstock group was significantly higher than the other groups, daily feed consumption and egg production values were not different. The usage of acidulated hazelnut soapstock reduced the percentage of intact egg ratio. Egg’s specific gravity and yolk color index were the highest level throughout the experiment from start to end in hazelnut crude oil group (p < 0.05). In group that was nourished by hazelnut oil, Omega 3/Omega-6 fatty acid ratios in egg yolk were higher than the groups that were fed with sunflower oil. The oleic acid content of the egg yolk was increased in the groups which were supplemented with hazelnut crude oil and acidulated hazelnut crude oil. Consequently, hazelnut crude oil and acidulated hazelnut crude oil improved the egg shell quality, yolk color index and yolk oleic acid value which would increase egg’s shelf life. On the other hand acidulated hazelnut soapstock supplementation adversely affects the quality of egg shell.  相似文献

Highly reactive radicals, ROO(*), were generated from 2, 2'-azobis[2-(2-imidazolin-2-yl)propane] and linoleic acid. The ROO(*) scavenging capacity of some Italian red wines was evaluated following the changes in oxygen consumption. Under the experimental conditions the time course of oxygen consumption shows two typical behaviors: trolox-like (class I) and gallic acid-like (class II). Usually the time course of wine was similar to that of gallic acid. The rate of oxygen consumption was found to decrease exponentially with the amount of wine or gallic acid added to the test solution. On this basis the capacity of red wines to scavenge peroxy radicals was expressed as content of gallic acid (S(GA)). The S(GA) values were found to be correlated to the amount of total proanthocyanidins and total polyphenols of some Italian red wines (p < 0.01). The proanthocyanidins extracted from seeds were shown to make a major contribution to the peroxy radical scavenging capacity of red wines, whereas, interestingly, the chemical class of the low molecular weight tannins reactive to vanillin did not correlate with the S(GA) values.  相似文献

A control soil stored at 4°C was analyzed 38 times by fumigation-extraction during a period of 11 months to correct for variations caused by the analytical procedure. The difference in extractable C between fumigated and unfumigated samples oscillated around the average without a positive or negative trend. When data from contemporaneously extracted field samples were corrected with control soil data the variations were lowered. The deviations between corrected and uncorrected biomass C values had maxima of ±12%. Data obtained for seven dates using pre-extraction, wet-sieving, and centrifuging were compared with data obtained by the conventional procedure without any pretreatment. A negative difference from data obtained without pretreatment was found when the soil water content was decreased to 6%. The largest positive difference (+38%) was found in May during the period of highest root growth.  相似文献

Two groups of 20 chicks each were fed 1% fatty acid continuously starting at 1 day of age, while a control group of 20 chicks received unsupplemented feed. At 2 days of age, chicks were inoculated orally with 1 ml of Salmonella typhimurium (1 x 10(6) colony-forming units/ml). Ceca were obtained from six chicks of each group at 7, 14, and 21 days of age. At 14 days of age, formic and propionic acids had statistically reduced Salmonella recovery by 2.56 logs and 3.09 logs, respectively, compared with controls. At 21 days of age, both test groups showed significant reductions of approximately 3.6 logs compared with controls. There were no statistical differences in body weights among the groups at 21 days of age.  相似文献

Olsalazine sodium (Dipentum*) has been used therapeutically against inflammatory bowel disease in human medicine as an alternative to sulphasalazine over the past 20 years. Bacteria in the colon split this prodrug into two molecules of the locally effective 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA). Considering the potential therapeutic use in equine colitis, the pharmacokinetics of olsalazine (OLZ) after single oral administration to six horses at a dosage of 30 mg/kg was investigated. Plasma concentrations of OLZ, 5-ASA, and its main metabolite N-acetyl-5-aminosalicylic acid (Ac-5-ASA) were analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography methods. Evaluation of the plasma pharmacokinetics revealed a rapid, but low extent of absorption of OLZ (peak concentrations around 1 microg/mL at 0.5-1.5 h), and a delayed minimal absorption of 5-ASA (concentrations < 0.2 microg/mL, at 11-35 h), which is immediately metabolized to Ac-5-ASA. As indicators of the local availability in the colon, high faecal water concentrations of 5-ASA and Ac-5-ASA (mean C(max) about 300 and 130 microg/mL, respectively), but only traces of OLZ were found in faeces excreted 18-50 h after dosing. Of the administered OLZ dose 26% could be recovered from faeces, almost completely as 5-ASA and Ac-5-ASA. Routine clinical examination of the horses and assay of standard haematological and serum chemistry parameters before and after OLZ administration confirmed that a single dosage of 30 mg/kg was well tolerated. To estimate the systemic availability of 5-ASA liberated from OLZ, 5-ASA was administered i.v. at a dosage of 1.5 mg/kg to four horses and plasma concentrations of 5-ASA and Ac-5-ASA were determined. The pharmacokinetic evaluation showed a very low bioavailability of 2.4% for 5-ASA, released from orally administered OLZ. Furthermore, in an in vitro experiment, the metabolic transformation of 5-ASA to Ac-5-ASA mediated by bacteria in the caecal content of horses was determined at 38 degrees C for 31 h and compared with the metabolism data of the in vivo study. The markedly lower degree of acetylation in vitro supports the assumption that biotransformation of 5-ASA in vivo occurs not only by colonic bacteria, but also at other sites.  相似文献
