The SAG2 vaccine (RABIGEN® SAG2) is a modified live attenuated rabies virus vaccine, selected from the SAD Bern strain in a two-step process of amino acid mutation using neutralizing monoclonal antibodies. The strain is genetically stable and does not spread in vivo or induce a persistent infection. Its absence of residual pathogenicity was extensively demonstrated in multiple target and non target species (such as wild carnivores and rodent species), including non-human primates. The efficacy of SAG2 baits was demonstrated according to the EU requirements for the red fox and raccoon dog. The use of safe and potent rabies vaccines such as SAG2 largely contributed to the elimination of rabies in Estonia, France, Italy and Switzerland. Importantly, these countries were declared free of rabies after few years of oral vaccination campaigns with SAG2 baits distributed with an appropriate strategy. The excellent tolerance of the SAG2 vaccine has been confirmed in the field since its first use in 1993. No safety issues have been reported, and in particular no vaccine-induced rabies cases were diagnosed, after the distribution of more than 20 million SAG2 baits in Europe.  相似文献

Three diploid citrus somatic hybrids (cybrids) were produced by fusions combining nucellar callus-derived protoplasts of Willow Leaf mandarin (Citrus deliciosa Ten.) and Commune clementine (Citrus clementina Hort. ex Tan.) with, respectively, leaf protoplasts of Eureka lemon [Citrus limon (L.) Burm.] and Marumi kumquat [Fortunella japonica (Thunb.) Swing.] and leaf protoplasts of Marumi kumquat. Ploidy and origins of the nuclear, chloroplastic, and mitochondrial genomes were investigated by flow cytometry and nuclear and cytoplasmic simple sequence repeat analyses. Volatile compounds were extracted from the leaves of the three cybrids by a pentane/ether (1:1) mixture, analyzed by GC-MS, and compared to those of their parents. The cybrids were found to be very close to their nucleus-giving parent, suggesting that the main information for volatile compounds biosynthesis is contained in the nucleus. However, nucleo-cytoplasmic interactions occurred: the (mandarin + lemon) cybrid, possessing nucleus and chloroplasts of lemon and mitochondria from mandarin, synthesizes more monoterpene alcohols and esters than its nucleus-giving parent; the (clementine + kumquat) cybrid, possessing nucleus from kumquat and organelles from mandarin, synthesizes more monoterpene and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons and sesquiterpene alcohols than its nucleus-giving parent.  相似文献

An experiment was carried out in the greenhouse in order to compare atrazine mineralization in bulk soil and maize rhizosphere at different development stages. After 4, 8 and 12 weeks, we have (1) measured the soil microbial biomass C, (2) characterized the C substrate utilization profiles of the culturable microflora, and (3) analyzed atrazine mineralization. Microbial growth was stimulated in planted soil and different C substrate utilization patterns were obtained in bulk and rhizosphere soils during the first 2 months. During this period, laboratory tests for atrazine biodegradation revealed a lower mineralization potential in bulk than in planted soil. Atrazine mineralization was stimulated to a greater extent after atrazine application in the greenhouse but again the presence of plants had a favorable effect. After 12 weeks of cropping, the atrazine mineralization potential decreased in planted soil with or without prior atrazine application.  相似文献

A kinetic model for the formation of acrylamide in a glucose-asparagine reaction system is pro-posed. Equimolar solutions (0.2 M) of glucose and asparagine were heated at different temperatures (120-200 degrees C) at pH 6.8. Besides the reactants, acrylamide, fructose, and melanoidins were quantified after predetermined heating times (0-45 min). Multiresponse modeling by use of nonlinear regression with the determinant criterion was used to estimate model parameters. The proposed model resulted in a reasonable estimation for the formation of acrylamide in an aqueous model system, although the behavior of glucose, fructose, and asparagine was slightly underestimated. The formation of acrylamide reached its maximum when the concentration of sugars was reduced to about 0. This supported previous research, showing that a carbonyl source is needed for the formation of acrylamide from asparagine. Furthermore, it is observed that acrylamide is an intermediate of the Maillard reaction rather than an end product, which implies that it is also subject to a degradation reaction.  相似文献

We developed ISBA-CC, a new version of the ISBA land surface model, to represent the fluxes and reservoirs of the terrestrial carbon cycle. The simulated latent heat flux, sensible heat flux and net ecosystem exchange are validated against in-situ measurements at 26 sites of the FLUXNET network, located at temperate and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere. Overall, ISBA-CC captures well the temporal variations of the fluxes, from the diurnal to the seasonal and the inter-annual scales. The best results are obtained for deciduous broadleaf and needle leaf forests, while the worst are found for agricultural sites, suggesting the need to take into account agricultural practices in order to better simulate both the energy fluxes and the net carbon flux. The ranking of the sites in terms of scores is consistent for the different fluxes. We show that taking into account the response of heterotrophic respiration to soil moisture allows a better representation of the variations of the net ecosystem exchange along with soil water content. ISBA-CC also compares favourably with other terrestrial ecosystem models. All these results show that the model matches the observed variability driven by the climate and can be used to assess the response of the terrestrial biosphere to future climate changes.  相似文献

A greenhouse study was conducted to investigate the ability of four crops (wheat, corn, oilseed rape and soybean) to influence the degradation of bentazone, diclofop-methyl, diuron, isoproturon and pendimethalin in soil. The present study showed that microbial biomass-carbon was significantly higher in planted soils than in bulk soil, especially with wheat and corn, after several cropping cycles. The biomass in corn and soybean planted soils was adversely affected by bentazone but recovered after three cropping cycles. In wheat-planted soils, diclofop-methyl application resulted in persistent increase of the amount of microbial biomass. Bentazone did not show accelerated degradation even after five successive treatments, differing from diclofop-methyl, for which two applications were sufficient to enhance significantly its rate of degradation. Enhanced degradation of diclofop-methyl was even more pronounced in wheat-planted soil. The rates of mineralisation of diuron, isoproturon and pendimethalin were not affected after the first cropping cycle, but were significantly increased in planted soils after five cropping cycles. The results confirm that plants may promote pesticide degradation in soil by stimulating biodegradation processes. In the case of diclofop-methyl, stimulation of accelerated degradation was observed.  相似文献

Fusarium graminearum is an important pathogen causing Fusarium head blight (FHB) on wheat and barley and Fusarium ear rot (FER) on maize, and harvested grains often are contaminated with trichothecenes such as deoxynivalenol (DON) and nivalenol (NIV) that are a major health and food safety concern due to their toxicity to humans and farm animals. In this study, species identity and trichothecene toxin potential of 294 members of the Fusarium graminearum species complex (FGSC) collected from wheat, barley and maize in France in 2011 was determined using a microsphere-based multilocus genotyping assay. F. graminearum was predominant on all three hosts, but three isolates of F. cortaderiae and two isolates representing F. graminearum × F. boothii hybrids were also identified from maize. The 15-ADON trichothecene chemotype predominated on all three hosts, representing 94.7 %, 87.8 % and 85.4 % of the strains on barley (N?=?19), wheat (N?=?90), and maize (N?=?185), respectively. However, the NIV chemotype was found in 12.2 % of the wheat isolates and in 14.6 % of the maize isolates. Only a single FGSC isolate from this study, originating from barley, was found to have the 3-ADON chemotype. Regional differences could be observed in the distribution of the 15-ADON and NIV chemotypes, with the NIV producing-isolates being present at higher frequency (21.2 %) in the South of France compared to the rest of the country (4.4 %). Such information is critical because of the increased concern associated with NIV contamination of cereals. In addition, these results are needed to develop management strategies for FHB and FER in France and to improve understanding of the distribution and significance of FGSC diversity in Europe and worldwide.  相似文献

Oyster farming in France is a traditional activity. Each year, 149 000 tons of oysters are fattened before being sold. More and more oyster farmers supplement the diet of oysters by microalgae to optimize the fattening process and to improve both the growth and flesh quality of oysters. In the present study, oysters were supplemented by two microalgae: Skeletonema costatum and Tahitian isochrysis clone. The ash, protein, carbohydrate (including glycogen), and lipid contents were analyzed. The growth of oysters was improved when they were fattened with microalgae, leading to an increase in the condition index. The chemical composition of oysters was influenced by the chemical composition of the microalgae, especially the level of glycogen, which was significantly increased for oysters supplemented by microalgae. The fatty acid profile of oysters fattened by microalgae was positively correlated with the fatty acid profiles of S. costatum and T. isochrysis. These results show the effectiveness of supplementation by microalgae on the growth and on the biochemical composition (glycogen and fatty acids especially) of oysters.  相似文献

Fusion of citrus diploid parental protoplasts generates allotetraploid hybrids which do not retain their parental traits with regard to leaf aroma compound biosynthesis. The aim of this study was thus to examine hybrid leaf proteomes in comparison with their parents. Leaf soluble proteins from two citrus allotetraploid hybrids (mandarin + lime and mandarin + kumquat) and their diploid parents (mandarin, lime, and kumquat) were submitted to 2-D gel electrophoresis. Leaf proteome maps of the tetraploid hybrids were compared with those of their parents on the basis of the presence/absence of spots and of their spot relative volumes. The two allotetraploid hybrid maps were found closer to that of their mandarin parent than to those of their nonmandarin parents in terms of the presence/absence of spots as well as at a quantitative level. This approach has to be related to the already observed dominance of mandarin in allotetraploids with regard to volatile compound biosynthesis in leaves.  相似文献

Sensory scores for saltiness and thickness obtained for savory liquids thickened with starches or the nonstarch hydrocolloid hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose (HPMC) were correlated with the panelists' amylase activity. Although higher enzyme activities were linked to lower thickness scores for systems thickened by starch, they were also associated with a decreased taste perception, particularly for starches retaining a granular structure after gelatinization (wheat and modified waxy maize). Microscopic evidence showed that the enzyme can disrupt such structures, and this is associated with a decreased mixing efficiency with water and consequently a reduced transport of tastant (sodium) to the saliva (aqueous) phase and to the taste buds. This explains the lower saltiness scores for subjects with higher amylase activity, even if they are associated with a lower perceived thickness.  相似文献
