Juvenile sporophytes and gametophytes of Ecklonia stolonifera were incubated in combinations of three pCO2 levels (360, 720 and 980 ppmv) and two temperatures (10 and 15°C for sporophytes; 15 and 20°C for gametophytes) to examine potential effects of climate change on photosynthesis and growth. Sporophytes had significantly higher maximum quantum yields (Fv/Fm) and maximum relative electron transport rates (rETRmax) at 720 ppmv than 360 and 980 ppmv. Also, these parameters were significantly lower at higher temperature of 15°C than at 10°C. Growth of female gametophytes was maximal at 360 ppmv rather than enriched pCO2 levels. Female gametophytes had significantly lower growth at higher temperature of 20°C than at 15°C. These results indicate effects of elevated pCO2 varied between generations: stimulating sporophytic photosynthesis and inhibiting gametophytic growth. Ocean acidification and warming would constitute a grave threat to seedling cultivation of E. stolonifera caused by growth inhibition of gametophytes at high pCO2 levels and temperatures. 相似文献

To further evaluate the clinical impact of recombinant PoIFN-alpha/gamma, PoIFN-alpha/gamma genes from a Chinese domestic big-white porcine breed were cloned using PCR, and expressed in a high-level prokaryotic system. The antiviral activities of rPoIFN-alpha/gamma on vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV), porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), and classical swine fever virus (CSFV) were investigated in different cell lines. The cloned PoIFN-alpha gene encodes a protein of 166 amino acids and has been named PoIFN-alphac. In a comparison of PoIFN-alphac with reported PoIFN-alphaI genes, eight amino acid substitutions at positions 43 (F to L), 78 (N to D), 86 (Y to C), 104 (A to V), 118 (R to L), 128 (T to P), 151 (S to V), and 156 (R to T) were observed, and resulted in no potential N-glycosylation site in the deduced PoIFN-alpha amino acid sequences. In contrast to PoIFN-alphac, one nucleotide substitution was found at position 462 (A to G), hence 0.1% synonymity is specific for the PoIFN-gamma gene. Both PoIFN-alphac and PoIFN-gamma genes were inserted into a prokaryotic vector pQE30, and expressed in E. coli M15 (pREP4) or SC11103 (pREP4) with the N-terminal six consecutive histidine residues, respectively. rPoIFN-alphac and rPoIFN-gamma proteins were detected by SDS-PAGE and Western blotting analysis at 20.7 and 18.0 kDa, respectively. In addition, the rPoIFN-alphac and rPoIFN-gamma protein were purified using Ni-NTA metal-affinity chromatography, and their anti-VSV, anti-PRRSV, and anti-CSFV activities were surveyed in homologous and heterologous cell lines. The results suggested that rPoIFN-alpha and rPoIFN-gamma could inhibit classical swine fever virus and other important viral pathogens in different cell lines. 相似文献

为了降低农田自动温室气体测定箱在观测过程中对作物生长环境及作物生长的干扰,本研究在玉米大田环境条件下比较了一种新型的三开门自动温室气体测定箱与传统单开门自动温室气体测定箱对环境空气温湿度、土壤温度与水分、玉米生长以及温室气体排放的影响。结果表明:三开门温室气体测定箱能显著减小与大田环境条件下的空气温度、湿度及土壤温度的差异;相对于单开门箱,三开门箱在箱体打开及关闭条件下气温平均低0.90和0.74℃,空气湿度平均增加1.36%和降低5.69%;在玉米小喇叭口期前土壤温度约降低2℃,小喇叭口期后差异不显著;对土壤水分的影响在玉米苗期有一定的作用,但差异不显著;三开门箱相对于单开门箱能显著降低箱体对作物生长的影响,还能降低CO2平均通量值6.85%及N2O的平均通量值3.68%,而对CH4平均通量值基本无影响。因此,三开门箱相对于传统单开门自动温室气体测定箱能显著减小测定箱对观测环境及作物生长的干扰,应用这种箱体观测能更好地反映田间温室气体排放状况。 相似文献

A comparison between marine and terrestrial invertebrate meals for mirror carp (Cyprinus carpio) diets: Impact on growth,haematology and health 下载免费PDF全文
Invertebrate meals (e.g. polychaetes and insects) present novel and sustainable high‐quality nutrient sources for use in fish feed formulations. To test this innovative source, an eleven‐week feeding trial was conducted evaluating the effects of replacing the fishmeal (FM) component as an example of a superior protein source (FM CTRL) with ragworm meal (RW, Nereis virens) and/or silkworm pupae (SWP, Bombyx mori) in mirror carp (Cyprinus carpio) diets. Three experimental diets with partial replacement of FM (diets: RW + FM, SWP + FM and RW + SWP + FM) were formulated. All diets were formulated to be iso‐nitrogenous, iso‐lipidic and iso‐energetic. Growth performance and feed utilization indices were assessed, and the feeding trial concluded with the analysis of haematological parameters to provide an indication of carp physiological and health status. Mean weight gain was greatest in mirror carp fed RW + FM (60.83 fish?1 day?1; P < 0.05 vs. all other diets) followed by SWP + FM (40.62 g fish?1 day?1; P < 0.05 vs. all other diets). The least weight gain was achieved in fish fed FM + SWP + RW+ and FM CTRL (34.34 and 33.96 g fish?1 day?1, respectively; not significantly different from each other). Fish fed on RW + FM diet had significantly lower plasma ammonia concentrations than any other dietary groups (P = 0.04). Mirror carp fed on SWP + FM diet (111.52 units mL?1) were observed to have a marked enhancement in alternative complement activity than FM CTRL (79.21 units mL?1, P = 0.041). Both ragworm and silkworm pupae meal present attractive sustainable functional feed component in carp diets, with benefits on enhancing growth performance and specific physiological parameters. 相似文献

- 1. In order to promote the establishment of the first marine protected area (MPA) in Taiwan, the conservation values of 12 reef sites in the Penghu Islands were evaluated. The results together with a 6‐year surveillance programme revealed that the Chinwan Inner Bay (CIB) possesses the best coral community in the Penghu Islands with the highest coral cover, high species diversity and habitat types, as well as a high conservation value.
- 2. Utilization of biological resources and socio‐economic factors of CIB were investigated by intensive field surveys and a complete visit‐and‐poll survey respectively. Most of the fishing at CIB is for recreational purposes and is characterized by low investment, low harvest rates, high dependence on weather conditions, and self‐consumption.
- 3. The socio‐economic data showed that there was basically no direct conflict of interests with local communities at two neighbouring villages, and most local residents indicated that they would support the MPA proposal.
- 4. A blueprint for a CIB MPA based on the results of these biological and socio‐economic investigations is proposed. Environmental threats including anchor damage and the predation of Drupella snails need to be ameliorated and monitored through the implementation of appropriate management. The involvement of local communities is key to the success of this MPA and environmental education is recommended to promote public awareness.
