A molecular study for the detection of Ehrlichia canis was carried out on tissues obtained at necropsy from randomly selected dogs with the intention of investigating naturally-occurring canine ehrlichiosis. The tissues evaluated for the presence of E. canis included lymph nodes, spleen, liver, bone marrow, and blood. Eight of the 18 dogs included were found to be positive for E. canis by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene. Two dogs were positive for Anaplasma platys of which one dog was co-infected with E. canis and A. platys. Blood (5/8) and lymph nodes (5/8) were the tissues found to yield the highest number of positive E. canis PCR results with 7/8 dogs positive in the blood or lymph node. E. canis and A. platys DNA could be amplified by PCR when tissue samples were obtained 72h after the time of death. 相似文献

Irrigation of olive orchards is challenged to optimize both yields and oil quality. Best management practices for olive irrigation
will likely depend on the ability to maintain mild to moderate levels of water stress during at least some parts of the growing
season. We examined a number of soil, plant and remote sensing parameters for evaluating water stress in bearing olive (var.
Barnea) trees in Israel. The trees were irrigated with five water application treatments (30, 50, 75, 100 and 125% of potential
evapotranspiration) and the measurements of soil water content and potential, mid-day stem water potential, and stomatal resistance
were taken. Remote thermal images of individual trees were used to alternatively measure average canopy temperature and to
calculate the tree’s crop water stress index (CWSI), testing empirical and analytical approaches. A strong non-linear response
showing similar trends and behavior was evident in soil and plant water status measurements as well as in the CWSI, with decreasing
rates of change at the higher irrigation application levels. No statistically significant difference was found between the
analytical and the empirical CWSI, suggesting that the relative simplicity of the analytical method would make it preferable

以以色列南部Seder Boker地区采集的粘壤土样品为研究对象。在室内利用ASD Field Spec 3型高光谱仪获取土壤的原始光谱,在进行数据预处理和不同数学变换后,共获取了4种光谱指标:光谱反射率(REF)、倒数之对数(LR)、一阶微分(FDR)和去包络线(CR)。采用偏最小二乘回归法(PLSR)、逐步回归法(SR)和岭回归法(RR)构建了基于不同指标的土壤含水率高光谱反演模型,并对反演结果进行精度验证与比较。结果表明:REF-PLSR模型在所有回归模型中的反演与预测效果均为最优(R2c=0.990,R2p=0.987),在逐步回归模型和岭回归模型中,LR-SR(R2c=0.981,R2p=0.971)、LR-RR(R2c=0.975,R2p=0.979)均为最佳模型。对于其他3种指标,虽然逐步回归法和岭回归法的建模效果较偏最小二乘回归法略有下降,但R2c均大于0.9,R2p均大于0.8,RPD均大于2.5,RMSE均小于0.03,模型仍具有较好的反演效果;逐步回归法和岭回归法均实现了模型的简化,但岭回归法采用有偏估计从而提高了模型的稳健性,且实现了波段的优选(用于建模的波段数仅为全光谱的0.3%)。粘壤土土壤含水率LR-RR高光谱反演模型的建立为高光谱模型的优化、土壤含水率的快速测定提供了途径。 相似文献

Woody vegetation, as an ecosystem engineer, can modulate the landscape such that the levels of resources in its vicinity undergo positive and negative changes as far as the herbaceous vegetation is concerned. To better understand how these processes play out in a semi-arid ecosystem, we examined resource modulation by woody vegetation, and the response of herbaceous vegetation to that modulation, at a fine spatial scale. Experimental manipulations were employed to separate the positive and negative effects of water, light and seed dispersal in determining herbaceous species density and biomass in three patch types within and adjacent to the shrub (core, periphery and open). We synthesized our results into a multilayered landscape diversity (MLLD) model. Woody vegetation creates distinct multilayered resource patches at its core and periphery which do not correspond to the dichotomous structural pattern of shrub canopy versus intershrub background. The combined effect of these multilayered resource patches had higher herbaceous species density (8.2 vs. 4.0 species 400?cm?2) and herbaceous biomass (5.4 vs. 1.0?g 400?cm?2) in the periphery than in the core (3-yr averages). The periphery??s net positive effects are due to enhancement of soil properties (water infiltration depth of 11.1?cm at periphery vs. 8.1?cm at core), while the core??s net negative effects are due to modulation of seed (seed abundance per seed trap of 44.2 at periphery vs. 3.0 at core) and light availability (PAR transmittance of 41.9?% at periphery vs. 16.5?% at core) by the shrub canopy. Thus, when examined at this fine spatial resolution, woody vegetation has both net positive and net negative effects on herbaceous vegetation. Analysis of our results by means of the MLLD model emphasizes the importance of examining the landscape at the spatial scale of the modulated resources and of recognizing different patch types and their differing effects on herbaceous vegetation. 相似文献

Five rates of water application were applied in a 4 year study on olive (Olea europaea) varieties 'Barnea' and 'Souri'. Increased irrigation lead to increased tree-scale oil yields, lower polyphenol content, and, frequently, higher oil acidity. These effects were predominant in "off" years. The fatty acid profile was influenced primarily by bearing level and variety and secondarily by irrigation rate. The saturated to unsaturated fatty acid ratio was higher in "off" than in "on" years, and the monounsaturated fatty acid to polyunsaturated fatty acid ratio was higher in "on" years as a result of the fact that oleic and stearic acids were higher in "on" years, while palmitic, palmitoleic, and linoleic acids were greater in "off" years. Squalene was higher in 'Souri' than in 'Barnea' oils, was not affected by bearing cycle, and was consistently lower in oil from trees receiving the lowest irrigation level. 相似文献

Olive (Olea europaea) has a very high tendency for year-to-year deviation in yield (alternate bearing), which has a negative economic impact on the olive oil industry. Among possible reasons for alternate bearing, depletion of stored carbohydrates (CHO) during the On-year (high yield) has often been mentioned. The objective of the present study was to verify the role of CHO reserves, as a cause or effect, in the alternate bearing of intensively cultivated olives. A monthly survey of soluble sugar and starch concentrations in the leaves, branches, bark and roots of On- and Off-trees (cv. Barnea) was carried out during a complete reproductive cycle from November 2005 to October 2006. Carbohydrate concentration in the sapwood was determined in January, as well as an estimate of whole-tree biomass. The trunk and limbs possess the largest portion of CHO reserves. The influence of reduced fruit load on CHO reserves was also investigated. Starch, mannitol and sucrose concentrations increased from December to March in all tissues, and then declined along with fruit development. Leaves, branches and bark have a significant role in CHO storage, whereas roots accumulated the lowest CHO concentrations. However, fluctuations in reserve content suggested considerable involvement of roots in the CHO budget. Nevertheless, there were no meaningful differences in the annual pattern of CHO concentration between On- and Off-trees. Even a 75-100% reduction in fruit number brought about only a minor, sluggish increase in CHO content, though this was more pronounced in the roots. Carbohydrate reserves were not depleted, even under maximum demands for fruit and oil production. It is concluded that in olives, the status of CHO reserves is not a yield determinant. However, they may play a significant role in the olive's survival strategy, ensuring tree recovery in the unpredictable semiarid Mediterranean environment. This suggests that CHO reserves in olive act like an active sink, challenging the common concept regarding the regulation of CHO reserves in plants. 相似文献
