Specific dynamic action (SDA), the energy costs associated with meal digestion and assimilation, is generally affected by
body size and food composition. We assessed the postprandial metabolic response and calculated SDA in two size groups of the
southern catfish (Silurus meridionalis), each fed one of two diets, high lipid or high carbohydrate, at a meal size of 4% the body mass. Using a continuous-flow
respirometer, we determined the oxygen consumption rate at 2-h intervals until the postprandial oxygen consumption rate returned
to the prefeeding level. None of the parameters (resting metabolic rate, Rpeak, factorial ratio, time-to-peak, duration, energy
expended on SDA, or SDA coefficient) were significantly affected by diet nor was there an interaction between diet and body
mass. Rpeak and energy expended on SDA for the whole fish body were significantly higher in the larger fish than the smaller
one in both dietary treatments, whereas no significant effect of body size was found in mass specific values. Factorial ratio
(range 3.41 to 3.60), peak time (range 9.6 to 12.7 h), SDA coefficient (range 9.36 to 10.36%), and SDA duration (range 62.0
to 71.0 h) did not significantly differ between body size groups. These results suggest that in S. meridionalis the percentage of assimilated energy allocated to SDA may be independent of the body mass. 相似文献

A 16S rDNA‐based polymerase chain reaction‐denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR‐DGGE) method was applied to detect intestinal bacterial communities of juvenile allogynogenetic crucian carp, Carassius auratus gibelio, fed with chitosan‐containing diet. This is the first time to use the molecular method to analyze the bacterial communities in the allogynogenetic crucian carp intestine. The DGGE profile with universal bacterial primers revealed simple communities in all treatment groups. Sequencing and phylogenetic analysis of excised DGGE bands showed that the dominant bacteria belonged to class γ‐Proteobacteria and Fusobacteria. The relative abundance and diversity of detected bacteria suggested that 0.5 and 0.75% of chitosan in diet were optimum for juvenile allogynogenetic crucian carp. As in these concentrations, some detected pathogen bacteria either disappeared or decreased. However, the DGGE profile with Aeromonas‐specific primers showed a similar composition among all treatment groups, which suggested that Aeromonas was one of relative stable bacteria components in the intestine of juvenile allogynogenetic crucian carp. 相似文献

An 8‐week feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of replacement of dietary fishmeal with cottonseed meal (CSM) on the growth performance and health status of juvenile grass carp, Ctenopharyngodon idellus (6.67 g). Six isonitrogenous and isoenergetic diets were formulated with different CSM levels (0, 121, 241, 362, 482 and 603 g/kg diet). The first limiting amino acid was methionine, which decreased with an increase in dietary CSM from 361 to 538 g/kg. When the dietary CSM content was lower than 241 g/kg, the limiting amino acid was histidine. Thermal growth coefficient (TGC) and feed efficiency first increased and then decreased (p < 0.05), which was consistent with the change in the limiting amino acid. The feeding rate increased with a rise in the dietary CSM level (p < 0.05). The activity of digestive enzymes except trypsin decreased significantly (p < 0.05), serum aminotransferase activity and triglycerides increased, serum cholesterol decreased (p < 0.05). When dietary CSM was raised to 362 g/kg, intestinal villi and hepatopancreas tissue were injured. When the dietary CSM was 603 g/kg, alternative complement pathway haemolytic activity was inhibited (p < 0.05). The gossypol level in dorsal muscles from each treatment was below the detection limit. Based on the quadratic regression analysis of the TGC, the optimal dietary CSM level was 175.9 g/kg, and the maximum could be up to 351.8 g/kg and still result in the same TGC as that of control group. 相似文献

土壤环境条件对威百亩熏蒸防治黄瓜枯萎病的影响 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
为探究威百亩在不同土壤环境条件下的消毒效果,采用离体和活体方法研究施药量、覆膜熏蒸时间、土壤相对含水量及土壤温度对威百亩熏蒸防治黄瓜枯萎病的作用效果。结果表明,25℃条件下,威百亩12 mg(a.i.)/kg土壤熏蒸消毒,对尖孢镰刀菌Fusarium oxysporum的抑制率为78.82%,对黄瓜枯萎病的防治效果为87.03%,且对作物安全无药害;威百亩对尖孢镰刀菌的熏蒸抑制作用随着熏蒸时间的增加而增强,土壤熏蒸10 d后对尖孢镰刀菌的抑制率为95.21%;土壤相对含水量为30%和50%时,威百亩对黄瓜枯萎病的防治效果分别为72.32%和82.14%,含水量过高或过低均不利于药效的发挥,而且还会对作物产生药害反应。威百亩的熏蒸效果随着土壤温度的升高而增强,在25、30、35℃时对黄瓜枯萎病的防治效果分别为80.18%、98.20%和100.00%。表明威百亩结合日光消毒温度大于25℃、土壤相对含水量为30%或50%、熏蒸10~15 d可有效控制土壤中尖孢镰刀菌引起的黄瓜枯萎病。 相似文献
