Impacts of a freedom farrowing pen design on sow behaviours and performance

The limited space in farrowing crate imposes many challenges, such as prolonged farrowing duration and high piglet stillbirth rate. Although the features of farrowing pens compensate for the drawbacks of farrowing crates, they are associated with high piglet crushing mortality caused by the greater space afforded to sows and their rolling-over behaviour. Therefore, a freedom farrowing pen was designed to overcome the drawbacks of both farrowing crates and farrowing pens. The main features of the freedom farrowing pen are its left anti-crushing bar and detachable right anti-crushing bar on the sides of the sow lying area. It also has a 10 cm-high anti-crushing bar in the non-lying area. Eighteen healthy, multiparous Yorkshire sows (3-7 parity) were averaged and randomly assigned to farrowing crates, farrowing pens, and freedom farrowing pens to compare the effects of the farrowing systems on sow behaviour and performance. Results showed that the farrowing duration and the mean piglet birth intervals were longer for the sows in farrowing crates than for those in farrowing pens and freedom farrowing pens (P<0.05), but there was no difference between the sows in farrowing pens and those in freedom farrowing pens (P>0.05). The piglet stillbirth rate was higher for the sows in farrowing crates than for those in farrowing pens and freedom farrowing pens (P<0.001). Crushing mortality was higher among piglets in farrowing pens (P<0.001), but there was no difference between piglets in freedom farrowing pens and those in farrowing crates (P>0.05). The freedom farrowing pen and the farrowing pen allowed sows to turn around and move freely, but because of the different structures of their anti-crushing bars, the increase in sow movement did not cause higher piglet crushing mortality (P>0.05). Sows in freedom farrowing pens were found to be more protective of their piglets.     

浅谈无线射频技术在奶牛场管理中的应用前景

无线通讯技术(RFID)和自动化控制技术已在各领域得到日益广泛的应用,无线射频技术作为其中的重要部分也在迅猛发展。虽然在奶牛养殖领域进行了多年的探索,但由于一些技术和价格的原因,这项技术还没有完全成熟和全面推广,本文就无线射频技术在奶牛养殖中的应用前景和作用进行探讨,为无线射频技术在奶牛养殖中应用提供一些拙见。     

紫花苜蓿不同基肥配比效应的研究

针对云南紫花苜蓿Medicago sativa种植缺乏专用肥的研究,采用"3414"的试验设计来研究不同基肥配比对紫花苜蓿第1年产量、株高、叶茎比、单株质量的影响.试验得出,施N 57.3 kg/hm2、P2O5 138 kg/hm2、K2O 36.45 kg/hm2时年产最高,达104 865 kg/hm2;施N 129.3 kg/hm2、P2O5 -5.1 kg/hm2(视为不施磷肥)、K2O 82.5 kg/hm2时茎叶比最大,达52.12%;施N 79.35 kg/hm2、P2O5 73.05 kg/hm2、K2O 106.05 kg/hm2时株高最大,达61.56 cm;施N 24.9 kg/hm2、P2O5 79.05 kg/hm2、K2O 80.1 kg/hm2时单株质量最高,达5.58 g.     

20份无芒雀麦种质材料苗期抗旱性综合评价及光合特性分析

在温室条件下,采用反复干旱法,对引进的20份无芒雀麦(Bromus inermis Leyss.)种质材料,以存活率、株高、绿叶数、地上生物量、地下生物量和根冠比6个指标的抗旱系数值,采用聚类分析法、标准差系数赋予权重法进行综合评价。结果表明:20份无芒雀麦苗期抗旱性划分成3个级别,其中抗旱性较强的有9份材料,抗旱性较弱有6份材料,抗旱性居中的有5份材料。20份无芒雀麦种质材料苗期抗旱性排序结果为ZXY06P-1621抗旱性最强,ZXY05P-1171最弱。不同抗旱级别种质材料的光合特性表现为:随着持续干旱胁迫延续,其光合速率(P_n)、蒸腾速率(T_r)和气孔导度(G_s)均呈下降趋势,复水后迅速上升;而CO₂浓度的变化趋势则呈相反变化趋势,且在整个胁迫过程中变化差异不显著。干旱胁迫下抗旱性强的材料能够保持较高的光合性能。     

番鸭源鸭疫里默氏菌大环内脂类药物的耐药基因检测与分析

为了解莆田市番鸭源鸭疫里默氏菌对大环内酯类药物的耐药性和相关耐药基因携带情况,对本实验室分离鉴定的49株番鸭源鸭疫里默氏菌菌株采用K-B纸片扩散法进行药敏试验,提取菌株基因组DNA,采用PCR方法对大环内酯类药物的ermA、ermB、ermC、ermF、ereD等5种耐药基因进行检测,阳性产物送公司测序并对序列进行分析...     

磷矿周围环境镉污染情况调查研究

为掌握磷矿区周围镉污染情况,确保畜禽养殖生产安全,采用电感耦合等离子体质谱法对矿区周围环境中的水源、土壤、饲草和畜禽体内的镉污染程度展开调查。结果：矿区环境中土壤、地表水镉含量均超标;畜禽中牛肾脏、牛肠、牛肺脏、羊脾脏、羊肌肉镉含量超标。结论：磷矿周围环境以及饲养的牲畜存在较严重的镉污染,从公共卫生学角度应给予高度关注。     

中药对腹水症肉鸡心肝肺干湿重的影响

经确诊30日龄患腹水综合症的艾维茵肉鸡100只,随机分为2组;另选50只30日龄健康肉鸡为Ⅲ组,作正常对照。I组为喂中药组,Ⅱ组、Ⅲ组为未喂中药组。喂药后第5d,I组的肝干湿比值与Ⅱ组相比有极显著差异性(P<0.01);右心重量(RV)、右心重量与全心重量比(RV/TV)、心肺干湿比值比Ⅱ组低,有显著差异性(P<0.05);与Ⅲ组相比,差异不显著(P>0.05)。试验表明,本方剂能够缓解机体组织的瘀血水肿,改善机体血液循环障碍。     

规模化屠宰场官方兽医及协检员的设置与职责

@@进入新世纪以来,伴随SARS、禽流感和猪链球菌病等疫情在全球范围内的传播,对世界各国人民的身体健康构成极大威胁。因此,国家逐步加大对动物疫病的防控,相继颁布了《中华人民共和国动物防疫法》《动物检疫管理办法》等法律法规,使我国动物防疫和检疫工作走上了有法可依、有章可循的规范化、法制化轨道。屠宰检疫是动物检疫工作的重要组成部分,是保证人民群众食肉安全的重要手段。猪肉及猪产品是广大群众餐桌上不可或缺的食品,国家为保证生猪产品质量安全,保障人民身体健康对生猪屠宰实行定点屠宰、集中检疫,从而使重大疫病的发生和流行得到有效控制。     

Bactrian camel (Camelus bactrianus) integrins αvβ3 and αvβ6 as FMDV receptors: Molecular cloning, sequence analysis and comparison with other species

Integrins are heterodimeric adhesion receptors that participate in a variety of cell–cell and cell–extracellular matrix protein interactions. Many integrins recognize RGD sequences displayed on extracellular matrix proteins and the exposed loops of viral capsid proteins. Four members of the αv integrin family of cellular receptors, αvβ3, αvβ6, αvβ1 and αvβ8, have been identified as receptors for foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) in vitro, and integrins are believed to be the receptors used to target epithelial cells in the infected animals. To analyse the roles of the αv integrins from a susceptible species as viral receptors, we have cloned Bactrian camel αv, β3 and β6 integrin cDNAs and compared them to those of other species. The coding sequences for Bactrian camel integrin αv, β3 and β6 were found to be 3165, 2289 and 2367 nucleotides in length, encoding 1054, 762 and 788 amino acids, respectively. The Bactrian camel αv, β3 and β6 subunits share many structural features with homologues of other species, including the ligand binding domain and cysteine-rich region. Phylogenetic trees and similarity analyses showed the close relationships of integrin genes from Bactrian camels, pigs and cattle, which are each susceptible to FMDV infection, that were distinct from the orders Rodentia, Primates, Perissodactyla, Carnivora, Galliformes and Xenopus. We postulate that host tropism of FMDV may in part be related to the divergence in integrin subunits among different species.     

案例分析——美国西尼罗河热疫情的暴发与防控

自1999年美国报道首例人西尼罗河病毒(WNV)感染以来,已出现了41 000多例临床感染病例和1 700多例死亡病例。1999年至2012年间,美国因人感染WNV住院造成的花费累计约7.78亿美元。同时,马属动物的治疗和免疫接种及WNV的监控也给美国带来了更严重的经济负担。针对WNV感染,美国采取了一系列防控措施,如建立国家虫媒病毒监测系统(ArboNET)、控制流行地区蚊虫、开发新型诊断方法、实施疫苗免疫等。但是,由于美国至少有65种蚊子能够传播WNV,感染WNV的候鸟可长距离传播病毒,加之季节、气候、人类活动等因素,导致WNV在美国难以根除。本案例提示我国应注重完善国家外来人兽共患病监测系统和实验室诊断方法 ;加强公共卫生实验室能力建设;利用大数据,建立WNV长期预警模型;确定理想的哨兵动物;加强政府与企业的合作以及疫苗、驱蚊剂的研发;加强宣传,突出防控重点。
