Treatment of 4th and 5th instar larvae of Heliothis virescens with different amounts of fenoxycarb induced an increase in weight of the 5th larval instar, prolongation of the 5th larval instar period, or the formation of dauer larvae. No effects were observed during the 4th instar and the moult to the 5th larval instar. To check whether these effects were due to persistence of fenoxycarb in treated larvae, metabolism of this chemical was analysed. Larvae were fed with radio-labelled fenoxycarb at the first day of the 4th or at the first day of the 5th larval instar. Behaviour of the radio-labelled compounds was followed during each instar. At the time of gut purge, the whole of the radio-labelled material was excreted. The effects observed during the 5th instar of 4th-instar-treated larvae do not appear to be due to the persistence of fenoxycarb. The main metabolites of fenoxycarb were identified using coupled gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.  相似文献

Objective To study the course of intraocular pressure (IOP) after cataract surgery in 50 dogs. Design Prospective study. Animals Fifty dogs without preoperative ocular hypertension were selected for cataract surgery. Methods All dogs underwent cataract surgery: 25 by manual extracapsular extraction and 25 by phacoemulsification. For each dog, intraocular pressure was measured before surgery, and 1, 3, 5, 18 h, 1 week and 1 month post surgery. Results No significant difference of mean intraocular pressure between the two surgical methods was observed for each time measurement. Nine dogs had postoperative hypertension (IOP > 25 mmHg) during the first 5 hours post surgery. Incidence of postoperative hypertension was not significantly different with manual extracapsular extraction (16%) vs. phacoemulsification (20%). A decrease of mean IOP was observed 1 h after surgery (8.49 mmHg vs. 10.91 mmHg), then an increase 3 and 5 h post surgery (12.3 and 13.32 mmHg, respectively). At 18 h, 1 week and 1 month post surgery, mean IOP decreased. Mean IOP was 10.38, 10.38 and 8.84 mmHg, respectively. Conclusion In this study incidence of POH is not high. However, a follow‐up of IOP in the first hours after cataract surgery is required to avoid complications of the retina and optic nerve and to administer hypotensive treatment if necessary.  相似文献

1. Nitrogen-corrected apparent and true metabolisable energy contents (AMEN and TMEN) of 12 diets, containing different amounts of maize, wheat, barley and rye, barley with beta-glucanase and maize with 0.05 g/kg guar gum were measured using 3-week-old male broilers. 2. The AMEN method involved: 4 d of dietary adaptation, 24 h of starvation, 54 h of ad libitum feeding, 24 h of starvation and daily total droppings collection. TMEN was measured after a 48 h starvation period followed by 2 d of tube-feeding two doses of 15 g of the diets and quantitatively collecting all the droppings after 48 h of starvation. The endogenous energy losses (EELN) were measured after tube-feeding 8 chickens with 30 g of glucose, also over 2 d. 3. The results show that a significant interaction exists between the nature of the diets and the method used to measure metabolisable energy. Differences between TMEN and AMEN values ranged from 1.03 to 1.98 MJ/kg dry matter. These differences were positively correlated with the total pentosan contents of the diet (r = 0.94), the natural logarithm of the viscosities of the water extracts (r = 0.87), the sum of the contents of total pentosans and total beta-glucan (r = 0.85), the calculated total non-starch polysaccharide contents (r = 0.79), the neutral detergent fibre contents (r = 0.76) and the total beta-glucan contents (r = 0.70). Furthermore, a significant interaction was found between diets and the method used to derive lipid digestibility. The differences between apparent and true lipid digestibility ranged from 0.05 percentage points for the wheat diet to 0.20 percentage points for the rye diet. 4. From the results of this trial, it appears that TMEN overestimates the energy value of high fibre diets.  相似文献
