Yellow mosaic disease (YMD) is the major constraint of mungbean for realizing high productivity worldwide. Moreover, management of disease using YMD‐resistant genotypes is the simplest approach. Therefore, based on a preliminary screening of 220 genotypes during the year 2010 and 2011 at 17 locations, a set of 25 genotypes was further selected to evaluate at six locations over 2 years for identification of more stable resistant genotypes. The genotype and genotype × environment (GGE) analysis indicated that the genotypes and environment effects were significant (P < 0.001) for YMD incidence. Interestingly, the GGE biplot analysis successfully accounted for 74.71 per cent of the total variation with three genotypes (ML 818, ML 1349 and IPM 02‐14) showing high degree of resistance and stability over the locations. Notably, a strong positive association was observed between disease reaction and temperature, relative humidity and rainfall. As crop is grown in diverse growing environments, aforementioned genotypes can be used as stable/durable sources for future breeding programme to develop YMD‐resistant cultivars.  相似文献

Enterocutaneous fistulas are reported to be sequelae of congenital umbilical hernia or penetrating trauma to the equine patient's abdomen. An enterocutaneous fistula is considered to be the least common clinical presentation in a horse with incarcinated umbilical hernia, and may be life-threatening if not managed timely. This case report describes an enterocutaneous fistula in a mare as a sequela to congenital umblical hernia. The mare had an uneventful recovery after surgical repair and delivered a healthy foal on subsequent follow-up. The report highlights the need to repair congenital umbilical hernias (regardless of the size), if they do not resolve by the age of 6 to 12 months.  相似文献

To elucidate the potential and sensitivity of cirradiation in Pongamia pinnata,the present study has been done by irradiating the air-dried seeds to differentγ-irradiation doses(100 Gy,200 Gy,400 Gy and 600 Gy),using 60Co source.Significant increase(p≤0.05)in the germination,growth,and vigor was recorded under the100 Gy treatment than the control set.The chlorophylla and total chlorophyll content(mgg-1 FW)in the leaves of P.pinnata showed a significant decrease under the higher irradiation treatments(200 Gy,400 Gy and 600 Gy).In contrast,chlorophyllb showed a radio-resistance up to 200 Gy dose,and above which its concentration declined significantly(p≤0.05).Photosynthetic rate,stomatal conductance,intercellular CO2 concentration,and transpiration rate were stimulated by 100 Gy irradiation treatment and the higher doses inhibited these parameters.Antioxidant activity in the leaves of P.pinnata tended to increase after irradiation in a dose-dependent manner.All the plants under different treatments ofγ-irradiation showed stimulation in production of proline,flavonoid,and phenolic content in comparision to the control.The findings of the present study showed thatγ-irradiation treatment stimulates the secondary metabolite production(proline,flavonoid and phenolic)and favours faster growth of P.pinnata.  相似文献

The influence of the polyphenolic compound epicatechin on Maillard chemistry was investigated under simulated roast conditions (10% moisture at 220 degrees C for 10 min). Quantitative gas chromatography (GC) analysis indicated that the addition of epicatechin to glucose or fructose/glycine model systems significantly reduced the generation of hydroxyacetone, 2-methylpyrazine, 2,3,5-trimethylpyrazine, furfural, 2-acetylfuran, 5-methylfurfural, 2(5H)-furanone, 2-acetylpyrrole, and furfuryl alcohol. These analytes were reported to be primarily generated from intact C2, C3, C4, C5, and C6 sugar fragments based on gas chromatography/mass spectrometry quantitative isotopomeric analysis of a 1:1 13C6:12C6 hexose sugar/glycine model system. Liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry qualitative isotopomeric analysis of a 1:1 13C6:12C6 hexose sugar/glycine/epicatechin model systems confirmed epicatechin reacted with Maillard reactants in the model systems; two main reaction products were reported, epicatechin-C5 and -C6 sugar fragment adducts. In addition, LC/MS analysis of a model system consisting of only 3-deoxy-2-hexosulose and epicatechin identified 3-deoxy-2-hexosulose as a precursor of the epicatechin-C5 and -C6 sugar fragment adducts reaction products. These results imply that epicatechin quenched 3-deoxy-2-hexosulose (a key source C6 to C1 sugar fragments) and consequently inhibited Maillard product formation.  相似文献

The protective effects of Ginkgoselect Phytosome((R)) (GBP) on Rifampicin (RMP) induced hepatotoxicity and the probable mechanism(s) involved in this protection were investigated in rats. Liver damage was induced in Wistar rats by administering rifampicin (500 mg/kg, p.o.) daily for 30 days. Simultaneously, GBP at 25 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg, and the reference drug silymarin (100 mg/kg) were administered orally for 30 days/daily to RMP treated rats. Levels of marker enzymes (SGOT, SGPT and SALP), albaumin (Alb) and total proteins (TP) were assessed in serum. The effects of GBP on lipid peroxidation (LPO), reduced glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPX) and glutathione reductase (GR) were assayed in liver homogenates to evaluate antioxidant activity. GBP (25 and 50 mg/kg) and silymarin elicited a significant hepatoprotective activity by lowering the levels of serum marker enzymes and lipid peroxidation and elevated the levels of GSH, SOD, CAT, GPX, GR, Alb and TP in a dose dependant manner. The present findings suggest that the hepatoprotective effect of GBP in RMP induced oxidative damage may be related to its antioxidant and free radical scavenging activity.  相似文献

Recently, our group reported via labeling experiments that epicatechin in Maillard reaction aqueous glucose-glycine model systems formed adduct reaction products with C2, C3, and C4 sugar fragments. In the current study, we investigated the identity of the sugar fragment precursors responsible for adduct generation by directly comparing the liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry properties of these reported epicatechin (EC)-sugar fragments adducts with those generated from reactions consisting of only EC and well-known Maillard-generated glucose fragments (i.e., glyoxal, glycolaldehyde, methylglyoxal, glyceraldehyde, etc.). The structural properties of an EC-methylglyoxal adduct reaction product were also analyzed by NMR. The most likely precursors for the C2, C3, and C4 sugar moiety of the EC-sugar fragment adducts were identified as glyoxal, hydroxyacetone, and erythrose, respectively. 1H NMR analysis of the EC-methylglyoxal indicated that the analyte underwent rapid conformational/constitutional exchange. Using cold temperature (-25 degrees C) two-dimensional NMR analyses (heteronuclear multiple bond coherence, heteronuclear multiple quantum coherence, and 1H-(1)H correlation spectroscopy), the structure of one of the isomers was reported to consist of a covalent linkage between the C1 position of the methylglyoxal and either the C6 or the C8 position of the EC A ring, presumably generated by hydroxyalkylation and aromatic substitution reactions.  相似文献

A severe outbreak of southern blight disease of China aster was observed during the post rainy season (September–November 2015) in the Mysore and Mandya Districts of Karnataka, Southern India. The disease incidence ranged between 12 and 47%. The typical disease symptoms include water-soaked lesions on leaves, stems and on the lower stem surfaces followed by quick wilting of the whole plant with abundant production of sclerotia near the stem-soil interface. The associated fungal pathogen was isolated on potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium, on which numerous reddish-brown sclerotia were seen. A total of 26 fungal isolates were isolated and studied for the mycelial compatibility. Isolate SrCCM 1 was used for pathogenicity analysis. The results of the study showed that, there was no variation among the isolates tested. Molecular identification of the pathogen by ITS-rDNA sequences of S. rolfsii showed 100% similarity with reference sequences. Based on the cultural, morphological and molecular characteristics, the fungal pathogen was identified as Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc. (Sexual morph: Athelia rolfsii (Curzi) C.C. Tu & Kimbr). Pathogenicity tests were performed on healthy leaves, roots and stems. Typical disease symptoms on leaves, stems and roots were evident after 5, 8 and 10 days of post-inoculation. Sclerotium rolfsii is known to cause diseases in economically important crop plants. However, no reports are available on the occurrence of S. rolfsii on China aster in India.  相似文献

The study was conducted to establish the ultrasonographic features of the healthy and impacted omasum in cows and buffaloes. Scanning was done using a 3.5 MHz microconvex transducer. In healthy buffaloes, the omasum could be scanned at the eighth to ninth intercostal space as a round or oval structure having thick echogenic wall with echogenic leaves. Gradual slow movements of omasal leaves could also be seen in real-time B-mode. The omasum appeared to be very clear, large, and close to the transducer at the start of the omasal contraction, and as the contraction progressed the omasum retracted away from the transducer and became very small. In healthy cows the omasum was seen as a crescent-shaped structure with an echogenic wall. The contents of the omasum or omasal leaves could not be visualized. Omasal contractility was not as prominent as in buffaloes. In buffaloes, the impacted omasum appeared amotile, the omasal leaves were not visible, and the omasum as a whole gave a prominent distal acoustic shadow. In cows, the impaction could be diagnosed based on amotile omasum covering a large area on the right side. Ultrasonography was found to be helpful in subjective assessment of omasal impaction but could not aid in diagnosing the severity of impaction.  相似文献
