Abstract It has been well documented by short-term artificial experiments that the CH4 uptake is inhibited by N input, especially NH4 p+-N input. To investigate the effect of the natural N input by throughfall and other factors on the CH4 uptake in forest soils, we measured the CH4 uptake rates for 6 months during the snow-free period of the year and N input by throughfall throughout the year at 10 sites in Hokkaido, Japan, from 1997 to 2002. Water filled pore space (WFPS) and pH values in the soils varied widely among the sites (38-93% and 3.9-6.2, respectively). The rates of NH4 p+-N and NH3 p--N inputs ranged from 1.3 to 6.9 kg N hap-1 yearp-1 and from 0.8 to 2.9 kg N hap-1 yearp-1, respectively. The NH4 p+-N input was generally higher than the NH3 p--N input. Total N input by throughfall amounted to 2.3-9.4 kg N hap-1 yearp-1. The highest CH4 uptake rate occurred within the period from July to September (41-215 μg CH4 mp-2 hp-1) each year at most sites. CH4 uptake rate was relatively low (~50 μg CH4 M-2 hp-1) at northern sites, while a high CH4 uptake rate was observed throughout the year 100 (? CH4 mp-2 hp-1) at southern sites. The mean CH4 uptake rates were significantly different among the sites. Cumulative CH4 uptake ranged from 1.4 to 6.6 kg CH4 hap-1 [184 d]p-1 with a mean values of 3.22 ± 1.36 kg CH4 hap-1 [184 d]p-1. Cumulative CH4 uptake increased with increasing temperature and decreased with an increase in precipitation (Rain), NH4 p+-N input (TFNH4) WFPS, soil total C (TC), and total N (TN). There was a quadratic relationship between the CH4 uptake and NH3 p--N input (TFNO3), soil pH, and C / N ratio in soil. A regression equation was obtained as follows to predict the CH4 uptake in forest soils: Cumulative CH4 uptake = 0.47 / Rain + 0.38 / TFNH4 + 0.34 / TC - 0.30 / TFN03 (R p2 = 0.74, p = 0.0001). This equation indicates that atmospheric N input into forest soils is one of the main factors that control cumulative CH4 uptake with precipitation, total carbon content in soil in Hokkaido, Japan. 相似文献

The anthocyanin profiles and variety/breeding-line differences of anthocyanin concentrations in petals of common buckwheat flowers have been studied. Four anthocyanins, cyanidin 3-O-glucoside, cyanidin 3-O-rutinoside, cyanidin 3-O-rhamnoside, and cyanidin 3-O-galactosyl-rhamnoside were isolated from the petals of common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench), separated using high performance liquid chromatography and identified using reversed-phase liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry techniques. In every variety/breeding line tested, cyanidin 3-O-rutinoside was detected as the major anthocyanin and the next is cyanidin 3-O-glucoside whereas cyanidin 3-O-rhamnoside and cyanidin 3-O-galactosyl-rhamnoside were trace or not detectable in white and pink flowered buckwheat. Of all the varieties/breeding lines tested, Gan-Chao, a Chinese variety, contained the highest amount of anthocyanins. The largest part of cyanidin moiety was presented as a proanthocyanidin form (PAs-Cy). Anthocyanins and PAs-Cy in petals were increased along with increase of flower development stages. Therefore, fully developed petals of red flowered buckwheat, especially Gan-Chao, are promising as a new anthocyanin-rich material for food processing. 相似文献

In order to shorten the term for the identification of asparagus super-maleplants, a method usingN-(4-chloro-2-trifluoromethylphenyl)-N'-pro-poxyacetamidine (AM12) toinduce flowering was developed. This method is conducted as follows: seedsfrom andromonoecious flowers are treated with AM12 to induce flowersto form on the seedlings, the new male flowers are crossed with normalfemale flowers, and the progeny seeds are again treated with AM12 toidentify super-male plants from the sex ratio of the seedlings.Asparagus officinalis cv. `UC157' seeds were treated with AM12.The seedlings were induced to flower at a high frequency in 25 days. Thesex ratio of the plants was 1:1 and the male flowers had the pollengermination ability. One male flower induced by AM12 was crossed withfemale plant. This cross produced many progeny seeds. The seeds weretreated again with AM12, and induced to flower. Two super-male plantswere found among the progeny of andromonoecious flowers of the all-malecultivar `Gijnlim' within six months by this method. This method thusshortens the time for identifying super-males. Since the female flowers werefertile as well, AM12 treatment would also be effective for cross breeding. 相似文献

本研究通过对来自亚洲10个国家的122份普通野生稻(O.rufipogon Griff.,简称普野,下同)和76份亚洲栽培稻(O.sativa L.)的核DNA RFLP分析,探讨了中国普野与南亚、东南亚普野,普野与栽培稻以及籼粳之间的遗传分化关系。结果表明,籼粳分化是栽培稻核DNA遗传分化的主流。在核DNA分化上,中国普野可分为原始普野型,偏籼型和偏粳型;南亚普野只有原始普野型和偏籼型,没有偏粳型;东南亚普野有原始普野型和偏籼型,还可能有偏粳型。中国普野因地理分布不同,其遗传分化表现出多态性,江西东乡和湖南茶陵以及部分云南元江普野既不与籼稻聚在一起,又不与粳稻聚在一起,而独聚一类,其形态上亦比较原始,属于原始祖先型。广东、广西普野则表现为偏籼或偏粳。根据中国、南亚、东南亚普野的遗传分化关系,再次论证了中国和南亚(以印度为中心)是栽培稻起源演化的两个原始中心,并提出了籼粳演化应该是多途径的。 相似文献

In our continuous interest to study the diversity of halogenated metabolites of Malaysian species of the red algal genus Laurencia, we examined the chemical composition of five populations of unrecorded Laurencia sp. A new brominated diterpene, 10-acetoxyangasiol (1), and four other known metabolites, aplysidiol (2), cupalaurenol (3), 1-methyl-2,3,5-tribromoindole (4), and chamigrane epoxide (5), were isolated and identified. group. Furthermore, animals fed with the PP-supplemented diet showed increased cecal ratios of Lactobacillus and Clostridia and decreased cecal ratios of Bacteroides and Gammaproteobacteria with slightly negative and positive correlations with plasma T-Chol levels, respectively. In conclusion,
ingestion of PP for four weeks is likely to improve both cecal conditions and cholesterol metabolism, suggesting that PP has

Hybrid weakness phenomena in rice reportedly have two causes: those of HWC1 and HWC2 genes and those of HWA1 and HWA2 genes. No detailed study of the latter has been reported. For this study, we first produced crosses among cultivars carrying the weakness-causing allele on the HWA1 and HWA2 loci to confirm the phenotype of the hybrid weakness and the genotypes of the cultivars on the two loci, as reported earlier. We then confirmed that these cultivars belong to Indica. Subsequent linkage analysis of HWA1 and HWA2 genes conducted using DNA markers revealed that both genes are located in the 1,637-kb region, surrounded by the same DNA markers on the long arm of chromosome 11. A 12-year-old male Shiba dog showed anemia and the swelling of systemic lymph nodes. X-ray and post mortal examinations revealed a anterior mediastinal mass. Histologically, the tumor mass consisted of four different elements; cord-like proliferation of cuboidal epithelial cells, tubular or cystic structures lined with ciliated epithelial cells, proliferation of large round-shaped epithelial cells with PAS-slightly positive granular cytoplasm, and diffuse proliferation of neoplastic lymphocytes. Epithelial cells in cord-like or cystic structures were strongly positive for cytokeratin. Granular or foamy cells were negative for all markers examined and had myelin-like bodies in the cytoplasm by electron microscopy. The neoplastic lymphocytes in the tumor mass were considered being derived from concurrent multicentric lymphoma. Based on these findings, the present case was diagnosed as thymoma with a part of granular cell proliferation and concurrent lymphoma cells. 相似文献
