Quantitative trait loci mapping of freezing tolerance and photosynthetic acclimation to cold in winter two‐ and six‐rowed barley 下载免费PDF全文
Photoacclimation (PA) and freezing tolerance (FT) have been identified as closely related traits, due to common mechanisms of environmental control. In this study, diversity array technology (DArT) was used for identification of the quantitative trait loci (QTL) of FT and PA in winter barley. Simple sequence repeat (SSR) and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers were subsequently used to saturate QTL regions. Two F2 mapping populations were created, for two‐rowed (P44) and six‐rowed barley (CaP). Different regions of the genome were responsible for differences in traits between parents in these two populations. Eleven QTLs were identified in the P44 population, including five typical for FT and PA, on chromosomes 2H, 3H and 7H. In the CaP population, only one QTL connected with PA and 10 connected with FT were found on all chromosomes except 2H. Our results demonstrate that different sets of markers should be applied in marker‐assisted selection for FT in two‐ and six‐rowed barley, as several loci determine FT at the level of biparental crosses. 相似文献

Genotype E of small ruminant lentivirus has been recently described in goats from different breeds in Italy. Genotype E infection may differ from known genotypes since deletions of dUTPase and VPR proteins have been confirmed in different independent areas and goat breed, and play a key role on virus replication and pathogenesis. In particular, genotype E Roccaverano strain has been described as low pathogenic since does not lead to clinical symptoms in goats. In contrast, classical CAEV infected goats of the same area and breed presented arthritis. In this study, we have used intratracheal and intra-bone marrow routes to establish genotype E persistent infections. Humoral and cellular immune responses elicited in the host against genotype E and genotype B derived antigens were evaluated until 200 days post-inoculation. Compared to genotype B antigen, seroconversion against genotype E GAG P16-25 antigen was detected at 2-3 weeks after inoculation, significantly earlier and at higher titres. Interestingly, antibody avidity did not increase in the course of the experiment neither against P16-25 nor against SU5, both derived from genotype E. T cell proliferation against P25-GST fusion protein antigens derived from genotype E was firstly detected at 15 days post-inoculation and was maintained throughout time until week 20 post-infection, while T cell proliferation against the genotype B P25 was not produced by the end of the experiment at 20 weeks post-inoculation. The strength of reaction was also higher when using P25 E as stimulator antigen. In contrast with antibody and T cell proliferation, cytotoxic-T-lymphocyte (CTL) activity in the circulating lymphocytes (effector cells) using blood-derived macrophages (BDM) as target cells, was not strain specific being surprisingly higher against genotype B infected antigen presenting cells (APCs). This is the first study reporting experimentally induced immunological changes in SRLV genotype E infection and indicates that CTL activity may be the adaptive immune response able to induce protection against heterologous infection. 相似文献

Eyespot is a major disease of common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in temperate climates and causes yield losses of up to 40%. The causal agents of eyespot are Oculimacula acuformis (syn. Tapesia acuformis; anamorph: Helgardia acuformis syn. Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides var. acuformis) and O. yallundae (syn. T. yallundae; anamorph: H. yallundae syn. P. h. var. herpotrichoides). Pch1 located on chromosome 7DL is the most important and most effective resistance gene, but its use in practical breeding is
limited because of difficulties in phenotyping and the fact that markers like XustSSR2001-7DL are often population-specific in German wheat cultivars. Therefore, based on results obtained for endopeptidase Ep-D1a, which
is very closely linked to Pch1, molecular markers located in the terminal region of chromosome 7DL were analysed in three DH (double haploid) populations.
In a next step these molecular markers were validated on a set of German winter wheat cultivars to obtain information on their
usefulness for marker assisted selection (MAS). Based on the analysis of 127 DH-lines, linkage to Pch1 (Ep-D1) was obtained for Xorw1, Xorw5, Xorw6, Xcfd175, Xbarc76, Xwmc14, and Xcfa2040. Analyses of 104 German winter wheat cultivars showed that Xorw1, Xorw6 and the SSR Xcfd175 of these markers are well suited for MAS in German wheat breeding. 相似文献

Altogether 445 bats, representing nine species, caught during swarming in the Lodowa Cave in Mount Ciemniak, Western Tatra Mountains, southern Poland, were examined for ectoparasitic mites. In total, 259 spinturnicid (Spinturnix mystacina, S. andegavinus, S. kolenatii, S. plecotinus and S. myoti) and 95 argasid (Carios vespertilionis) mites were collected from seven bat species, Myotis myotis, M. mystacinus, M. brandtii, M. daubentonii, Eptesicus nilssonii, Plecotus auritus, and Vespertilio murinus. There were sex-based differences in the prevalence of mites in some hosts but no differences in their mean intensity and there was no observed relationship between the number of mites and the condition of the bats. The prevalence of mites differed significantly between years in E. nilssonii. The results suggested a very low mite load on swarming bats that had no impact on the body condition of bats. 相似文献

Innovative forms of green urban architecture aim to combine food, production, and design to produce food on a larger scale in and on buildings in urban areas. It includes rooftop gardens, rooftop greenhouses, indoor farms, and other building-related forms (defined as “ZFarming”). This study uses the framework of sustainability to understand the role of ZFarming in future urban food production and to review the major benefits and limitations. The results are based on an analysis of 96 documents published in accessible international resources. The analysis shows that ZFarming has multiple functions and produces a range of non-food and non-market goods that may have positive impacts on the urban setting. It promises environmental benefits resulting from the saving and recycling of resources and reduced food miles. Social advantages include improving community food security, the provision of educational facilities, linking consumers to food production, and serving as a design inspiration. In economic terms it provides potential public benefits and commodity outputs. However, managing ZFarming faces several challenges. For some applications, the required technologies are known but have not been used or combined in that way before; others will need entirely new materials or cultivation techniques. Further critical aspects are the problem of high investment costs, exclusionary effects, and a lack of acceptance. In conclusion, ZFarming is seen as an outside-the-box solution which has some potential in generating win–win scenarios in cities. ABSTRACTIn two trials, 358 female and entire male pigs vaccinated against boar taint (YxH) were single-phase-fed with diets that were planned to contain 0.78?g standardized ileal digestible (SID) lysine/MJ net energy and 14.5?g SID CP/g SID lysine. A reference diet with soya bean meal (SBM) as the protein feed ingredient, was replaced with either cereal by-products (CBP), rapeseed meal (RSM), faba beans (FB) or mixtures of 50% CBP and 50% RSM (CBP?+?RSM) or 50% FB and 50% RSM (FB?+?RSM) in the experimental diets. Treatments had no effect (P?>?0.05) on daily weight gain, feed efficiency, carcass weight, lean meat content or dressing percentage and carcass value. Single-phase-fed pigs on diets with local protein ingredients can perform as well as single-phase-fed pigs on diets with soya bean meal, and CBP, RSM, FB have the potential to replace soya bean meal in nutritionally well-balanced diets to growing-finishing pigs. 相似文献
