The first larval feeding in Crassostrea gigas, detected by epifluorescence microscope, occurred 24 h after fertilization at 24°C and 30 h at 21°C. The amount of algal cells (Pavlova lutheri and Isochrysis galbana) necessary to have larvae with filled stomachs was estimated to be 800 cells per day at 24°C and 400 cells per day at 21°C.  相似文献

This study evaluated the effect of supplementation of a plant ingredients‐based diet with two levels of commercially digestive enzyme products: Synergen? and Natugrain® on the apparent digestibility coefficients (ADCs) of nutrients and on digestive enzyme activities in European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax) juveniles. A control diet was formulated with 450 g/kg CP (200 g/kg from fish meal + 800 g/kg from plant protein) and 180 g/kg CL (fish oil), and four other diets were made similar to the control but supplemented with 0.2 g/kg or 0.4 g/kg of Synergen? and Natugrain®. Digestive enzyme activities were not affected by dietary treatments. Nevertheless, chyme pH along the intestine of fish fed the Natugrain®‐supplemented diets was reduced. The ADC of nutrients increased with exogenous digestive enzyme supplementation, with the highest ADC values being observed for the 0.4 g/kg Natugrain® diet. The ADC of dry matter, protein, lipids, energy and phosphorus in this diet were 26%, 6%, 4%, 16% and 63% higher, respectively, than in the control diet. Overall, diet supplementation with exogenous enzyme complexes seems to have high potential for improving the utilization of plant feedstuff‐rich diets for seabass juveniles. This study revealed that Natugrain® was more effective than Synergen? in improving the ADC of nutrients and energy in European seabass juveniles.  相似文献

This study was the first to investigate the effect of soy antinutrients, saponins and phytosterols, in on‐growing sea bass. Seven diets were formulated: a control diet (fishmeal and fish oil based) and six diets containing 1 or 2 g kg?1 levels of soya saponins, 5 or 10 g kg?1 levels of phytosterols or a combination of 1 g kg?1 saponins + 5 g kg?1 phytosterols or 2 g kg?1 saponins + 10 g kg?1 phytosterols. After a 59 days feeding trial fish were weighed, faeces collected for digestibility studies and plasma sampled for cholesterol quantification. At day 15 and 59, distal intestine (DI) samples were collected for histological evaluation and quantification of maltase (Malt), alkaline phosphatase (AlP) and leucine aminopeptidase (LAP) activities. At day 59, DI was collected for gene expression of AlP, Malt and immune related genes. Antinutrients had no effect on fish performance, digestibility, plasma cholesterol levels and digestive enzymes activities and gene expression. Only mild morphological changes were present in groups fed high levels of saponins + phytosterols. Expression of immune related genes showed no differences between groups. Overall, on‐growing sea bass showed high tolerance to dietary antinutrients up to the levels tested.  相似文献

This study aimed at evaluating the effects of short‐chain fructooligosaccharides (scFOS), xylooligosaccharides (XOS) and galactooligosaccharides (GOS) on growth performance, hepatic metabolism, gut microbiota and digestive enzymes activities of white sea bream juveniles. Four diets were formulated: a control diet with fish meal (FM) and plant feedstuffs (PF) (30FM:70PF) and three test diets similar to control but supplemented with 10 g of scFOS, XOS or GOS per kilo diet, which were fed to fish during 12 weeks. Prebiotics had no effect on growth, feed efficiency or gut microbiota. Plasmatic triglycerides were lower in fish fed XOS than FOS and GOS diets. Malic enzyme activity was lower in fish fed XOS than FOS diet. Fish fed XOS diet had lower fatty acid synthetase (FAS), a key lipogenic enzyme and higher alanine aminotransferase activities. Fifteen days after the start of the trial, an enhancement of total alkaline protease, trypsin and lipase activities was observed in fish fed prebiotics, but such effect disappeared at 12 weeks. In conclusion, scFOS, XOS or GOS seem to have limited applicability in white sea bream feed.  相似文献

A 28-day indoor trial was conducted to evaluate the water quality, phytoplankton composition and growth of Litopenaeus vannamei in an integrated biofloc system with Gracilaria birdiae and Gracilaria domingensis. The experimental design was completely randomized with three treatments: control (shrimp monoculture); SB (shrimp and G. birdiae) and SD (shrimp and G. domingensis), all with three replicates. Random sampling was done (6 % of total population per experimental unit) to confirm white spot syndrome Virus (WSSV) infection using nested-PCR analysis due to suspicion of presence of the virus in the experiment (treatment and control groups). Shrimp L. vannamei (2.63 ± 0.10 g) were stocked in experimental tanks at a density of 425 shrimp m?3, and the Gracilaria was stocked at a biomass of 2.0 kg m?3. Shrimp mortality began in both the experimental and control groups at 10 days of culture. The integrated biofloc system (shrimp and seaweed) increased settleable solids (by 26–52 %); final weight (by 6–21 %); weekly growth (by 17–43 %); weight gain (by 17–43 %); specific growth rate (by 16–36 %); and yield (by 5–7 %) and decreased feed conversion ratio (by 21–28 %) and Cyanobacteria density about 16 % as compared to the control (shrimp monoculture). The use of red seaweed Gracilaria in an integrated biofloc system can enhance shrimp growth and reduce Cyanobacteria density in the presence of WSSV.  相似文献

This study evaluated the efficiency of the drainage system during the larviculture of Lophiosilurus alexandri. Moreover, we assessed the best feeding rate after feed training for juvenile production. The study was performed in three phases over 87 days. In phase 1 (40 days), larvae were fed live food and posteriorly submitted to feed training in two drainage systems: water drained on the surface (DS), and water drained into a tank column (DI). In the second phase (30 days), using only the DS system juveniles were fed a formulated diet at feeding rates, 2, 4, 6 and 8% of body wet weight. In the third phase (17 days), the fish from the second phase were fed until apparent satiation. At the first phase, the animals in the DS system exhibited greater survival rates and growth. The best feeding rate for daily weight gain, specific growth rate (SGR) and mean body weights were similar: 5.57, 5.13 and 5.68% respectively. In the third phase, an increased SGR was observed in the treatment groups that received lower feeding rates in the second phase (2 and 4%), which could indicate a possible compensatory growth rate.  相似文献

Effects of pretreatment of Brassica napus leaves with ascospores of Leptosphaeria biglobosa or chemical defence activators [acibenzolar- S -methyl (ASM) or menadione sodium bisulphite (MSB)] on infection by ascospores of Leptosphaeria maculans (phoma stem canker) and development of disease were studied in controlled-environment (phoma leaf spot) and field (phoma leaf spot and stem canker) experiments. In controlled-environment experiments, pretreatment of oilseed rape leaves (cv. Madrigal) with L. biglobosa , ASM or MSB delayed the appearance of L. maculans phoma leaf spot lesions. These pretreatments also decreased the phoma leaf spot lesion area in both pretreated leaves (local effect) and untreated leaves (systemic effect). In winter oilseed rape field experiments in the 2002/03 and 2003/04 growing seasons, pretreatment with L. biglobosa or ASM in October/November decreased not only the number of phoma leaf spot lesions per leaf caused by L. maculans in autumn/winter, but also the severity of phoma stem canker in the subsequent spring/summer. Effects were greater in 2002/03 (when natural L. maculans ascospore release began in September 2002) than in 2003/04 (when ascospore release began in December following a period of dry weather in August/September 2003). These results suggest that pretreatment with biological or chemical defence activators can induce local and systemic resistance to L. maculans , with both short-term effects on the development of phoma leaf spotting and long-term effects on the development of stem canker 8 months later.  相似文献

Floodplain lakes are ecosystems characterised by annual flood and dry cycles. Fish ecology is influenced by the flood pulse due to the large influx of allochthonous food resources and diversification of habitats during the flood cycle, while during the dry cycle, fishes tend to be confined in reduced habitat. The aim of this study was to evaluate the seasonal variation in trophic niche width and overlap of four species—Mylossoma duriventre, Prochilodus nigricans, Cichla.pleiozona and Serrasalmus rhombeus—in an Amazonian floodplain lake. Stable isotope analyses were used to estimate trophic niche width and overlap during the flood and dry seasons. We hypothesised broader niche width for all species during the flood cycle and a higher degree of overlap between the two piscivorous fishes during the dry cycle. Isotopic niche width was 72% broader for P. nigricans, 61% for S. rhombeus and 54% for C. pleiozona during the dry cycle, which did not support our hypothesis. Core niche width overlaps were not observed between piscivorous species in either flood or dry cycle. The results indicate that seasonal variation in isotopic niche width is specific to feeding habit. Understanding how fish trophic ecology responds to changes in the hydrological regime during the seasons is crucial for sustainable fishery management in a region where many people rely heavily on fish for nutritional and economic purposes.  相似文献
