A single non-synonymous nucleotide substitution of guanine (G) for adenine (A) at position 2254 in the viral DNA polymerase gene (encoded by open reading frame [ORF] 30) of equine herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1) has been significantly associated with neuropathogenic potential in strains of this virus. To estimate the prevalence of EHV-1 strains with the neuropathogenic genotype (ORF30 G(2254)) in the Hidaka district--a major horse breeding area in Japan--we analyzed the ORF30 genomic region in cases of EHV-1 infection in this area during the years 2001-2010. Of the 113 cases analyzed, 3 (2.7%) were induced by ORF30 G(2254) strains. This prevalence is lower than those observed in the U.S.A. (10.8-19.4%), Argentina (7.4%), France (24%), and Germany (10.6%).  相似文献

The nature of the picrotoxinin receptor was studied using the central nervous system (CNS) of the American cockroach. It first was confirmed by using an electrophysiological technique that the abdominal nerve cord of the American cockroach was sensitive to picrotoxinin. By using a [3H]α-dihydropicrotoxinin binding test it was determined that the picrotoxinin receptor in CNS of this insect had a higher affinity toward picrotoxinin and heptachlor epoxide than the corresponding receptor in the rat brain. Also, the cockroach brain preparation had a higher percentage of specific binding in the total binding, making this material suitable for receptor studies. By using a sucrose density centrifugation technique, it was determined that the fraction sedimented at the interphase of 1.0 to 1.2 M sucrose at 100,000g contained the highest level of specific binding site. The receptor showed a sensitivity to all insecticidal cyclodienes tested, namely photodieldrin, oxychlordane, endrin, heptachlor epoxide, γ-chlordane, dieldrin, aldrin, heptachlor, and isodrin (expressed in the order of potency). Among four BHC isomers, the γ-isomer showed the highest potency to bind with this receptor.  相似文献

The pathogenicities of RacL11 and Kentucky D strains of equine herpesvirus 1 in the hamster infection model are different from those of Ab4p and the Japanese isolates. Virus genome restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis and sequence comparison of an intergenic region, glycoproteins and tegument genes showed higher conservation but with some strain-specific differences. These results indicate that point nucleotide differences in RacL11 and Kentucky D might be responsible for their pathogenicity in rodent models.  相似文献

Background

Both the G3P[12] and the G14P[12] type of equine group A rotavirus (RVA) have recently become predominant in many countries, including Japan. G3 types are classified further into G3A and G3B. The G3A viruses have been circulating in Europe, Australia, and Argentina, and the G3B viruses have been circulating in Japan. However, only an inactivated vaccine containing a single G3BP[12] strain is commercially available in Japan. To assess the efficacy of the current vaccine against recently circulating equine RVA strains, we examined antibody responses in pregnant mares to recent G3BP[12] and G14P[12] strains by virus neutralization test.

Findings

After vaccination in five pregnant mares, the geometric mean serum titers of virus-neutralizing antibody to recent G3BP[12] strains increased 5.3- to 7.0-fold and were similar to that against homologous vaccine strain. Moreover, antibody titers to recent G14P[12] strains were also increased 3.0- to 3.5-fold.

Conclusions

These results suggest that inoculation of mares with the current vaccine should provide foals with virus-neutralizing antibodies against not only the G3BP[12] but also the G14P[12] RVA strain via the colostrum.  相似文献

研究了4种土地利用方式下(水田、旱地、林地、菜地)紫色土(紫色湿润雏形土)和紫色水稻土(紫色水耕人为土)NH4+的容量和强度(Q/I)关系。结果表明:紫色土和紫色水稻土NH4+Q/I曲线的曲线部分均出现在NH4+的活度比(ARNH4)较低时,表明土壤存在非交换性NH4+(或专性吸附的NH4+)的释放。紫色土和紫色水稻土NH4+的潜在缓冲容量(PBC)为71.47~203.7 cmol kg-1(mol L-1)-1/2;土壤活性NH4+(-ΔNH40)为0.029 5~0.089 7 cmol kg-1,NH4+的平衡活度比(AR0NH4)为0.187×10-3~1.255×10-3(mol L-1)1/2;土壤专性吸附位点(NH4-sas)为0.010 6~0.118 5 cmol kg-1。相关分析和通径分析表明,土壤小于0.002 mm黏粒含量与NH4+PBC及NH4-sas均呈极显著正相关(p<0.01),小于0.002 mm黏粒对PBC的影响主要是间接作用(间接通径系数为0.585),但对NH4-sas则有强烈的直接作用;有机碳与-ΔNH40和AR0NH4均呈极显著正相关(p<0.01),但是有机碳对-ΔNH40有较大的直接效应(直接通径系数为0.966),而对AR0NH4的影响主要以间接效应为主。土壤-ΔNH40与交换性NH4+数值接近且呈极显著相关(r=0.876 4,n=8,p<0.01),而AR0NH4与交换性NH 4+亦呈极显著相关(r=0.983 7,n=8,p<0.01)。土壤小于0.002 mm黏粒和有机碳的差异是导致不同土地利用方式下紫色土交换性NH4+以及Q/I参数的差异的主要原因,交换性NH4+标志的NH4+有效性指标与由Q/I关系得到的NH4+有效性指标类似。  相似文献

为了阐明极度退化的崩岗生态系统内芒萁的生长状态和养分储存特征,对闽西南3处不同侵蚀强度的典型崩岗内芒萁叶片C、N、P含量及C/N、C/P、N/P特征进行研究,对比分析不同侵蚀强度下崩壁部位和崩岗不同侵蚀部位中芒萁叶片的生态化学计量特征。结果表明:崩岗内芒萁叶片的C、N、P平均含量分别为477.10 g·kg~(-1)、6.45 g·kg~(-1)、0.25 g·kg~(-1),芒萁叶片的N、P养分含量极低;而C/N、C/P、N/P平均值分别为96.82、2 097.20、27.67,芒萁生长受P限制。不同侵蚀强度下的崩壁内芒萁叶片的C、N、P含量及C/P、N/P均存在显著差异(P0.05),C含量、C/P和N/P均随着侵蚀强度的增强而减小,N含量在中度侵蚀的崩壁内较高,而P含量则随着侵蚀强度的增强而增加,表明芒萁对土壤侵蚀严重的崩岗生态系统具有很强的适应能力。在崩岗的不同侵蚀部位中芒萁叶片的P含量、C/P和N/P均存在显著差异(P0.05),P含量在集水坡面最高,在崩壁最低;而C/P、N/P均表现为崩壁显著大于其他各侵蚀部位。可见,在崩岗的不同侵蚀部位,崩壁中芒萁对C的同化能力强于其他侵蚀部位,且对P利用效率也显著高于其他侵蚀部位。综上,在侵蚀严重的崩岗生态系统中,芒萁有较强的同化C能力和较高的对P利用效率,能通过调节自身C、N、P元素含量很好地适应土壤侵蚀严重、养分极度贫瘠的生境。  相似文献

This study quantified variations within tree stems in tangential shrinkage (αT), radial shrinkage (αR), and tangential/radial shrinkage ratio (αT/αR) of Melia azedarach grown in two different sites in northern Vietnam. The overall values of αT, αR, and αT/αR were 7.05%, 4.38%, and 1.64, respectively. The variation pattern in αT and αR was found to increase gradually from pith to bark and this trend was similar on both sites. In radial direction, the αT/αR decreased significantly from 10 to 50% of the radial length from pith before approaching a constant value toward the outside. The transverse shrinkage variation with height was very small and without statistical significance. There were strong positive relationships between transverse shrinkage and basic density (BD). This implies that the selection for high wood density may lead to increase wood transverse shrinkage. In addition, the αT and αR had significant positive linear relationships with both acoustic wave velocity (VL) and dynamic modulus of elasticity of log (DMOElog). This result suggests that it might be possible to sort lumber with large transverse shrinkage by stress wave method for M. azedarach planted in northern Vietnam.  相似文献
