Summary The Pl6 locus in the inbred sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) line HA335 giving resistance to French races of downy mildew (Plasmopara halstedii (Farl.) Berl. & de Toni. was localized by molecular techniques. A bulked segregant analysis was made on the F2 progeny from a cross between this line and H52, a downy mildew susceptible line. The resistance gene in HA335 was found to have the same linked RFLP marker loci as those determined for Pl1 (resistance to race 1 in the line RHA266) on linkage group 1 of the consensus RFLP map of the cultivated sunflower. Pl1 and Pl6 thus appear either to be allelic or closely linked. The implications for sunflower breeding are discussed.  相似文献

Response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to predict optimum conditions for microwave-assisted extraction-a MAP technology-of saponin components from ginseng roots. A central composite design was used to monitor the effect of ethanol concentration (30-90%, X(1)) and extraction time (30-270 s, X(2)) on dependent variables, such as total extract yield (Y(1)), crude saponin content (Y(2)), and saponin ratio (Y(3)), under atmospheric pressure conditions when focused microwaves were applied at an emission frequency of 2450 MHz. In MAP under pre-established conditions, correlation coefficients (R (2)) of the models for total extract yield and crude saponin were 0.9841 (p < 0.001) and 0.9704 (p < 0.01). Optimum extraction conditions were predicted for each variable as 52.6% ethanol and 224.7 s in extract yield and as 77.3% ethanol and 295.1 s in crude saponins, respectively. Estimated maximum values at predicted optimum conditions were in good agreement with experimental values.  相似文献

The environmental fate of dinitroaniline herbicides is poorly understood, despite their classification as Persistent Bioaccumulative Toxins by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This study investigated the abiotic reduction of pendimethalin and trifluralin in controlled laboratory systems in the presence of Fe(II) and fulvic acids isolated from various surface waters and in sediment pore waters containing naturally abundant levels of dissolved Fe(II) and dissolved organic matter (DOM). It was found that Fe(II) was necessary for pendimethalin and trifluralin reduction to occur in controlled systems and that higher concentrations of DOM slowed Fe(II)-mediated reactions. Pendimethalin and trifluralin reduction in natural pore waters was roughly an order of magnitude slower compared to controlled Fe(II)-DOM solutions, indicating that the reactive Fe(II) species responsible for reduction are concentration-limited in natural pore waters relative to controlled systems. The results show that caution must be exercised when extrapolating results from controlled system reactions to natural systems and that abiotic reduction of both trifluralin and pendimethalin is observed within 3-7 days in anaerobic sedimentary pore waters containing high concentrations of both dissolved Fe(II) and DOM.  相似文献

The contents of secondary plant substances in solvent extracts of various byproducts (barks, kernels, peels, and old and young leaves) in a range of Brazilian mango cultivars were identified and quantitated. The results show that the profiles of secondary plant substances such as xanthone C-glycosides, gallotannins, and benzophenones in different byproducts vary greatly but are fairly consistent across cultivars. The free radical scavenging activity of the solvent extracts was evaluated using a high-performance liquid chromatography-based hypoxanthine/xanthine oxidase assay and revealed dose-dependent antioxidant capacity in all extracts. Four (mangiferin, penta- O-galloyl-glucoside gallic acid, and methyl gallate) of the major phenolic compounds detected were also evaluated in additional in vitro bioassay systems such as oxygen radical absorbance capacity, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, and ferric reducing ability of plasma. Mangiferin in particular, detected at high concentrations in young leaves (Coite = 172 g/kg), in bark (Momika = 107 g/kg), and in old leaves (Itamaraka = 94 g/kg), shows an exceptionally strong antioxidant capacity.  相似文献

The overall objective of this study was to explore the toxicity of benzoxazinone allelochemicals and their metabolites to Folsomia candida (Collembola: Isotomidae) (Willem, 1902). Experimental tests showed transformation products to have more pronounced toxicity than parent compounds. The underlying relationship between the chemical structure and toxicity was then studied using three-dimensional QSAR approaches, and results highlighted the role of the steric contribution.  相似文献

Soil structure is important to root development and crop yield. The objective of this study was to test the Cropping Profile Method in Brazilian soils, in order to evaluate the soil structure in the field. Grouped different structures determined by the Cropping Profile Method were compared to laboratory determinations for soil bulk density, total porosity and mercury porosity. The study was conducted in clayey Oxisols submitted to different uses and management including annual crops, orchards and natural forests in the State of Paraná, southern Brazil. Homogeneous morphological units (HMUs) were determined in trenches using the Cropping Profile Method, and the different structures were grouped as: (a) non-compacted; (b) compacted; (c) in-process-of-compacting. Results of field evaluation were compatible with those obtained in the laboratory. More compacted and in-process-of-compacting structures corresponded to soil bulk density values of 1.42 and 1.33 Mg m−3, which were significantly higher than the 1.18 Mg m−3 value obtained for soil bulk density in non-compacted HMU. The total porosity of compacted HMU and in-process-of-compacting HMU was 0.49 and 0.52 m3 m−3, respectively. These were significantly lower than the value obtained for the non-compacted HMU (0.60 m3 m−3). The Cropping Profile Method is useful mainly in field research works when it is important to verify the effect of management practices on soil structure.  相似文献
