Recently, we developed an intraspecies spermatogonial transplantation technique in a pelagic egg spawning marine teleost, nibe croaker Nibea mitsukurii. Nibe croaker is an ideal candidate recipient for spermatogonial transplantation since it has a short generation time and small body size. In the present study, yellowtail Seriola quinqueradiata spermatogonia were transplanted into nibe croaker larvae, and the behavior of transplanted spermatogonia in recipient gonads was observed. Three weeks post-transplantation, yellowtail spermatogonia were incorporated into the gonads of 72 out of 88 recipients. An antiproliferating cell nuclear antigen was detected in incorporated yellowtail spermatogonia, suggesting that the xenogenic germ cells were proliferating in recipient gonads. Yellowtail vasa-positive spermatogonia survived for 11 months after transplantation in the gonads of recipient fish. Thus, we showed that the microenvironment in nibe croaker gonads can support the colonization, proliferation, and survival of germ cells derived from a different taxonomic family.  相似文献

Fruiting phenology, assessed by seed fall, in five warm-and cool-temperate forests on Yakushima Island, southern Japan, was studied for two years in one 50 m × 50 m plot and for four years in four 100 m × 50 m plots. The elevation of the plots ranged between 170 and 1200 m a.s.l. Seed fall phenology showed annual periodicity in all five plots. This was clear when assessed by the number of species but became less clear when assessed by the biomass of seed litter. Community-level annual periodicity was based on the prevalence of population-level annual periodicity and interspecific synchronization of the fruiting peak from autumn to winter. Fleshy fruits had peaks of seed fall in a wider range of months than non-fleshy fruits, since it is sometimes beneficial to bear fruit outside the community-level fruiting peaks in order to avoid interspecific competition for animal seed dispersers. No consistent effect of climatic factors on seed fall phenology was detected.  相似文献

本试验用羊毛脂制成的糊状赤霉素涂抹处理里扎马特、巨峰和先锋葡萄的果梗进行无核化研究 ,试验结果表明 :赤霉素涂抹葡萄果梗后可使葡萄果实无核化并使果实膨大 ,尤其是先锋葡萄可通过一次处理达到较好的无核效果 ,获得的无核果实较对照果实大并且品质优良。涂抹法较水溶液处理法简单、方便 ,有利于在生产上应用。本试验的结果浓度在 10 0~ 30 0 0mg·L-1范围内均有较好的效果  相似文献

A procedure for simulating and mapping land productivity was developed. The procedure used only existing data such as soil surveys based on soil taxonomy, weather records and yield either from published sources or collected from producers. It provides a means of assessing quantitatively the likelihood of introducing new crops to a region. The need to estimate benefits from crop inputs modification such as irrigation and fertilizer can also be met by this procedure. It can also be used to help select crop performance test sites for maximum extrapolation of test results to a large area.  相似文献

To satisfy the world’s growing need for animal protein, it is important to develop or select fish species which are suitable for optimal cultivation in closed recirculating aquaculture systems (CRASs) as an environment-friendly aquaculture technology for providing safe and secure aquaculture food products. We have developed an ‘all fish’ growth-hormone (GH)-transgenic Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus (GHTi) which appears to be a predominant candidate for CRAS since it has been found to exhibit two important characteristics, namely, a shorter rearing duration to a market size and lowered N and P discharge load. However, these fish have undergone morphological changes, resulting in a short body which is less acceptable to consumers as an edible fish. One possible solution to reducing the prevalence of such morphological deformities is to determine the association between changes in the nutritional conditions of these fish. To this end, we first calculated the ideal total calcium (Ca) and phosphorous (P) intake (g/kg), ideal daily Ca and P intake and retention (g/kg/day) and ideal daily feeding rate (%) for the fourth filial (F4) offspring of GHTi. Our hypothesis was that GHTi would achieve the same total retention of Ca (14.6 g/kg) or P (7.69 g/kg) during a 69-day shorter rearing period as their production-matched pedigree common domestic strain (CTi). We estimated that when GHTi were fed conventional commercial diets to satiety, those with a body weight (BW) of more than approximately 230 g could not retain sufficient Ca, while those with a BW of more than approximately 429 g could not retain sufficient P. We then attempted to reduce the prevalence of morphological deformities in GHTi via dietary compound regulation by supplying a high amount of dietary Ca [6.82 % in the diet with Ca supplementation (Ca-S)] or P [4.75 % in the diet with P supplementation (P-S)]. Both the Ca-S and P-S diet improved mineral retention, while those fed on a Ca-S diet showed a lower prevalence of deformities, close to the size-matched CTi. These results suggest that the requirements of dietary Ca and P were significantly higher in GHTi than in CTi and, consequently, that the conventional levels of Ca and P in commercial diets for CTi cannot meet the mineral requirement of GHTi. We therefore propose to develop an optimal feed to meet the altered nutritional requirements of GH-transgenic Nile tilapia for growth-promoting optimization. This may become prerequisite for rearing this GHTi line in CRASs.  相似文献

To evaluate and describe the current status of Calibrachoa cultivars as bedding plants, the seasonal flowering of 91 commercial cultivars were compared to those of natural species using principal components analysis. The predominant flowering of the cultivars, that is, floriferous in late spring to early summer with a tendency to reduce flower production toward winter, seems to have remained unchanged from that of natural species. However, properties desired in bedding plants, such as early flowering and continuous flowering under short-day and/or low temperature conditions, appear to have been improved in a considerable number of cultivars, although there is still room for improvement. Seasonal and total floral counts were higher in many cultivars compared to natural species. Several natural species were selected for their unique flowering ability and should be evaluated as gene resources for improving the flowering of Calibrachoa cultivars.  相似文献

It has long been known that a bacterial leaf blight-resistant line in rice obtained from a crossing using ‘Asominori’ as a resistant parent also has resistance to blast, but a blast resistance gene in ‘Asominori’ has not been investigated in detail. In the present study, a blast resistance gene in ‘Asominori’, tentatively named Pias(t), was revealed to be located within 162-kb region between DNA markers YX4-3 and NX4-1 on chromosome 4 and to be linked with an ‘Asominori’ allele of the bacterial leaf blight resistance gene Xa1, tentatively named Xa1-as(t). An ‘Asominori’ allele of Pias(t) was found to be dominant and difference of disease severity between lines having the ‘Asominori’ allele of Pias(t) and those without it was 1.2 in disease index from 0 to 10. Pias(t) was also closely linked with the Ph gene controlling phenol reaction, suggesting the possibility of successful selection of blast resistance using the phenol reaction. Since blast-resistant commercial cultivars have been developed using ‘Asominori’ as a parent, Pias(t) is considered to be a useful gene in rice breeding for blast resistance.  相似文献
