This study was designed to evaluate the ontogeny of serum IGF-I (SI) concentrations and its relationship to animal performance in a 140-d postweaning feeding trial. Ninety-eight progeny representing six sires (three high and three low feed conversion) and two sexes (43 bulls and 55 heifers) with ad libitum access to feed were allocated by sire and sex to monitor individual weights and pen feed consumption. Blood serum samples were obtained at the beginning of test (average age of 230 d) and every 28 d thereafter until each animal reached a fat thickness (estimated by sonoray) of 8.9 mm. Individual serum samples were acid-ethanol extracted and measured for IGF-I peptide by heterologous RIA. Serum IGF-I concentrations differed (P less than .10) between high (H) and low (L) feed conversion progeny groups at the end of the first 28-d period (125.12 vs 89.52 ng/ml) and tended to differ at the conclusion of the second 28-d period (P less than .15). Weight gains of H and L groups tended to differ in the second and third 28-d periods (P = .11 and .10, respectively). Serum IGF-I concentrations differed (P less than .05) between bulls and heifers for the first through fourth 28-d periods (P less than .01, P less than .05, P less than .10 and P less than .01, respectively). Phenotypic correlations indicated that pens with higher mean SI concentrations at the beginning of the test consumed less feed and had lower cumulative feed:gain ratios.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

The DNA isolated from cow-hamster hybrid somatic cells segregating bovine chromosomes was analyzed by Southern blotting and hybridization with a heterologous [32P]-labeled porcine cDNA probe encoding insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I). Thirteen of 25 cow-hamster hybrid cell lines exhibited the bovine-specific IGF-I fragment. Analysis for the retention or loss of bovine IGF-I with markers previously screened against the same panel of hybrid cells revealed a 100% concordance with lactate dehydrogenase B of bovine syntenic group U3 located on bovine chromosome 5. Restriction fragment length analyses of genomic DNA from animals representing five breeds (Angus, Polled Hereford, Simmental, Gelbvieh, and Belgian Blue) and from seven half-sib Angus calves indicated that polymorphisms for the genomic composition of the bovine IGF-I gene may exist in cattle populations.  相似文献

对分解过程中红松伐根上着生的大型真菌子实体进行了研究,分析其变化动态,结果表明,在分解过程中,红松伐根上着生的大型真菌子实体种类较多,共涉及14个科,其中以层菌纲伞菌目的真菌数量最多;伐根上大型真菌的数量随分解时间的增加而增加,但是多样性却随分解时间的递增而降低,表明红松伐根上的真菌有随分解时间的增加而汇聚的现象;不同真菌在红松伐根分解过程中出现的时间不同,白蘑科和侧耳科是红松伐根分解过程中最常见的真菌类群.  相似文献

There are many difficulties to process a colorimetric visual-sensor-array by traditional processing methods, such as complicated manual analysis due to many data and hard to finish varieties and concentrations identification simultaneously, etc. In view of colorimetric-sensor-array’s same location response to the same gas, a fast quantitative identification algorithm of colorimetric visual-sensor-array based on basic units matching which can solve these problems is proposed. First, denoising and feature extraction are processed by setting experienced threshold to reduce redundancies and lessen manual analysis. Second, a creative qualitative analysis method based on basic units is put forward, which not only reduces computation, but also increases efficiency and precision. Finally, a ANFIS of NH3 concentration recognition utilizing advantages of fuzzy logic and neural network is used to distinguish low concentration NH3. The advantage of this algorithm is that varieties and concentrations of different gases could be detected successively, solving the problem of recognition errors caused by characteristic data infection when varieties and concentrations of different gases are detected simultaneously.The results of template matching based on basic units show that the classification accuracy of NH3, Cl2 and SO2 are 100%. The low concentration NH3 classification accuracy is also very high after species identification with measurement errors below 5%.  相似文献
