Variation in the growth ring width, basic density, longitudinal shrinkage and tracheid length was investigated in the juvenile wood of Norway spruce samples taken from different heights in the stem. Annual height increments were cut from the ten youngest shoots from trees of three different heights. By this method the properties of an individual growth ring could be analysed without taking samples from each ring. Sixteen tree tops of an average stem height of 8, 15 and 25 m were analysed. Basic density was low in the first shoot, highest in the second or third one and decreased gradually thereafter. Longitudinal shrinkage was highest close to the pith and decreased to about 0.2% in the outer rings. Tracheids were only ca. 1 mm long close to the pith and their length increased sharply towards the tenth shoot. The properties of juvenile wood varied with the height in the stem. Longitudinal shrinkage around the pith seemed to increase with increasing height and basic density was highest at 25 m stem height. The applicability of the method for the calculation of basic density and tracheid length in individual growth rings close to the pith is discussed.  相似文献

通过对杉木和I-72杨人工林木材南北向、不同高度位置、不同径向位置横向干缩(弦、径向)的测量,研究上述3个因素对2种木材横向干缩(弦、径向)的影响规律。结果表明:南北向的不同对杉木和I-72杨人工林木材的干缩均无显著影响;高度位置的不同对杉木和I-72杨木的弦向干缩均有显著影响,而对径向干缩则无显著影响;径向位置的不同对杉木和I-72杨人工林木材的径、弦向干缩均有极显著影响:从树皮到髓心,木材径、弦向干缩逐渐减小,与其基本密度的变化趋势一致。  相似文献

The longitudinal shrinkage variations within trees and the relationship with density, microfibril angle, and modulus of elasticity were examined for five sugi cultivars selected for different within-tree distributions of density, microfibril angle, and modulus of elasticity. The cultivars showed significant differences in longitudinal shrinkage and in its within-tree distribution. The within-tree distributions were categorized into two types: (1) large values of longitudinal shrinkage near the pith that decreased with height and from pith to bark, (2) small values of longitudinal shrinkage near the pith that increased slightly from pith to bark. There were strong relationships between longitudinal shrinkage and microfibril angle, and modulus of elasticity, with large values of longitudinal shrinkage associated with large microfibril angle and low modulus of elasticity. Sugi exhibited large variation in longitudinal shrinkage within stem and among cultivars, with the variation strongly affected by microfibril angle. 对安庆段长江滩地I-72杨的密度和干缩性进行了研究。结果表明:I-72杨的气干密度、全干密度和基本密度分别为0.454 g/cm3、0.415 g/cm3和0.364 g/cm3;I-72杨木材密度的径向变异为自髓心向外,最初递减,然后再向外层递增;轴向变异为沿树干向上逐渐增加;I-72杨的径向、弦向和体积全干缩率分别为3.917%、8.093%和12.138%,体积干缩系数为0.169,差异干缩为2.107;I-72杨5.3 m高度处的径向、弦向和体积全干缩率测量值均大于1.3 m高度处的测量值。  相似文献

To investigate the wood properties affecting the internal-check variation in boxed-heart square timber of sugi (Cryptomeria japonica), two cultivars, yabukuguri and kumotooshi were kiln-dried together by the high-temperature setting method and their internal checks were compared. There was a difference in the area of internal checks between the cultivars. Kumotooshi formed a larger area of internal checks, which was thought to be affected by the larger tangential shrinkage of kumotooshi. The number, total length, and total area of internal checks were significantly correlated with tangential shrinkage. The area of internal checks around the pith was also larger for kumotooshi, which might be affected by the larger tangential shrinkage in the core part of kumotooshi. The results supported that tangential shrinkage should be one of the important properties affecting the internal-check variation of sugi boxed-heart square timber.  相似文献

The transverse shrinkage variation within trees was examined for five sugi cultivars. The within-tree trends of tangential shrinkage (α T) were different by cultivar, whereas radial shrinkage (α R) increased from pith to bark in most cultivars. The tangential/radial shrinkage ratio (α T/α R) decreased from pith to bark in most cultivars, because the radial variation of α R was larger than that of α T. The cultivars showed significant differences among cultivars in α T, α R, and α T/α R, but the difference among cultivars for α T/α R was smaller. The relationships between transverse shrinkage and microfi bril angle (MFA), basic density (BD), tree ring parameters, and modulus of elasticity were examined. The α T and α R showed positive relationships with BD, latewood percentage, latewood density, and modulus of elasticity, and negative relationships with MFA and ring width. The relationships with earlywood density were weak. Sugi exhibited variation in transverse shrinkage within stem and among cultivars, with the variation affected by MFA, density, and tree ring parameters. 本文以杉木、日本落叶松的人上林和天然林木材为对象,选择y=a+blnx回归模式。利用其管胞特征因子随年轮数的变化,研究划分幼龄材年轮界限的最适因子,并就生长速率对幼龄材生长量的影响进入了探讨。结果表明:杉木和日本落叶松的人工林及天然林木的管胞特征值在径向水平上的变化均遵循y=a+blnx模式,尤其管胞长度与年轮数回归的相关系数R均达0.98以上;管胞长度与管胞宽度及纤丝用相比,遗传率最大,随年轮数变化的模式最稳定,是划分幼龄材界限的最佳因子,由此得出杉木人工林幼龄材界限年轮为20-22(距髓心距离为12.9-13.2cm)、天然林为16-18(4.1-4.5cm),日本落叶松人工林为19-23(8.7-10.5cm)、天然林为23-24(2.9-3.1cm);幼龄材生长量与树木生长速率成正比。  相似文献

对元江地区幼龄印度黄檀木材各生长轮间的解剖各参数和结晶度的径向变异趋势及它们的相关性做了全面的测定和分析,结果表明:纤维长度和宽度、导管分子长度和弦径、纤维比量总体径向变化趋势是从髓心往外呈增加趋势;纤维壁厚和生长轮的径向变异趋势是先增加后减小;导管比量、胞壁率和微纤丝角的变化趋势是沿髓心向外呈递减趋势;结晶度的径向变异趋势是先增加后减小.方差分析表明:各生长轮间的解剖参数和结晶度差异均明显.相关分析表明:生长轮年龄与各解剖参数和结晶度相关性显著,据此建立了木材解剖性质和结晶度预测模型,相关系数大都达到0.88以上.  相似文献

为了解邓恩桉的木材性质,本研究采用排水法和《GB/T 1930-2009》方法测定邓恩桉的生材含水率、年轮宽度以及木材密度。结果表明:全树生材含水率、年轮宽度、生材密度和基本密度均值分别为114.61%、4.73 mm、1.164 g·cm-3、0.522 g·cm-3。随着树高的增加,年轮宽度、木材密度呈-大-小-大‖趋势,生材含水率呈-小-大-小‖趋势;由髓心向外,木材密度逐渐减小,生材含水率逐渐增大,年轮宽度先增加后减小。4个材性指标在树干径向不同位置间差异极显著,在不同树高间差异不显著(除年轮宽度外)。基本密度与3个材性指标间存在极显著或显著相关。  相似文献

按照中国国家标准研究杉木和I-214杨树木材的抗弯弹性模量、抗弯强度、顺纹抗压强度和密度,同时按照日本国家标准研究2个树种的顺纹抗剪强度.结果表明:杉木的抗弯强度、顺纹抗压强度和密度由胸高直径处向上呈波浪形增加,抗弯弹性模量则稳定降低,但不同高度间杉木的物理力学性质没有显著差异;近树皮处木材的物理力学性质高于近髓心处木材,并有极显著差异.对于I-214杨树,只有抗弯弹性模量从髓心到树皮逐渐增加,其他的物理力学性质,最小值在从髓心到树皮的过渡区,最大值在近树皮处,从髓心到树皮,杨树的物理力学性质有极显著的差异.杉木和杨树的径面顺纹抗剪强度从髓心到树皮有极显著差异,并且近树皮的高于近髓心的木材,而弦面顺纹抗剪强度从髓心到树皮没有显著差异.木材密度与力学性质有很好的线性相关关系,木材密度是一个很好的力学强度的预测手段.  相似文献

通过对美洲黑杨林分内不同径阶木材解剖特性和基本密度的差异分析,结果表明:(1)株内径向年轮宽度先增加,第3轮达最大宽度,之后逐渐减小,10轮后年轮宽度仅2.3mm。纤维、导管形态中的长度、宽度及长宽比径向表现为递增模式,前5轮迅速增加,5轮之后缓慢增加,8轮之后趋于稳定;壁厚径向上总的趋势稍微增加,壁腔比因宽度增大而表现出稍微降低,呈起伏状。树木基本密度径向趋势是随着树龄增加而增大,浸提物含量径向为递减模式;(2)林分内不同径阶个体间同一年轮宽度和木材基本密度随着径阶增加而增大,两者径阶间的差异达到显著性水平。不同径级同一轮纤维形态、导管形态特征株间差异均不显著。这反映了杨树林分内生长量与木材基本密度间为正相关,与纤维形态、导管形态特征值之间没有相关性。基本密度随着径阶增加而增大,可能与木材组织比量中的纤维比例增加有关。  相似文献

The relationships between growth characteristics and wood properties were investigated for a threatened species, Pericopsis mooniana, to promote the establishment of plantations of this species in the tropics. Growth characteristics (diameter and height) and stress-wave velocity (SWV) of trees were measured for 22-year-old P. mooniana trees planted in Indonesia. The trees were categorized into three groups, fast-growing, middle-growing, and slow-growing trees, to investigate the effect of growth rate on the wood properties. In addition, radial variation of anatomical characteristics and wood properties were determined. No significant correlation was found between growth characteristics and SWV. The values for the vessel diameter, cell wall thickness of wood fibers, wood fiber length, basic density, modulus of elasticity, and modulus of rupture from wood at the bark side were higher than those at the pith side. On the other hand, vessel frequency gradually decreased from pith to bark. These results suggested that low-quality wood, such as juvenile wood, existed near the pith area.  相似文献

以微密度分析对19个种源杉木的木材密度径向变异模式进行了研究.不同种源间和种源内株间,年轮平均密度的径向变异曲线都存在一定的变异,但此变异主要表现在种源内株间.年轮平均密度的幼龄-成熟相关性从第3年起就极显著.由微密度分析得出的一系列密度和年轮宽特征值间的相关分析表明,在年龄影响下的变异过程中,年轮内密度变异曲线随年轮宽的变动导致晚材率变动的效应较为显著,年轮平均密度主要受晚材率影响;年轮平均密度与年轮宽呈特别显著的负相关.而在种源影响下的变异过程中分析,上述效应不明显,而不同种源间密度变异曲线的上下移动影响显著;年轮平均密度主要受早材平均密度影响;年轮平均密度与年轮宽的负相关远不如在年龄影响下的变异过程中显著.  相似文献

The variation in the basic‐density level of 45 stems of Sitka spruce from two Danish sites has been examined. It is shown that the basic‐density level, i.e. the basic density as a function of ring width, within the juvenile wood decreases with (1) increasing distance from the pith and (2) increasing height in the stem (same ring number from pith provided). Furthermore, the basic‐density level seems to decrease with increasing stand quality, which may affect the pattern of variation in basic‐density level if the stand quality class varies with age. The basic density of the juvenile wood is markedly higher in Sitka spruce than in Norway spruce, whereby the risk of stem cracks probably is reduced.  相似文献

The ring characteristics and screw withdrawal resistance (SWR) of naturally regenerated Taiwan yellow cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa var. formosana) trees were explored. Significant differences in average ring width (RW), earlywood width, latewood width, ring density (RD), earlywood density (ED), latewood density (LD), highest density (Dmax), lowest density (Dmin), latewood percentage (LWP), and SWR were observed between trees, rings (SWR excluded), and tree height positions. The RW components in the radial direction increased from the pith outward to about the 3rd to 5th ring and then decreased to about the 25th ring; it was almost constantly sustained toward the bark side. The RD in the radial direction slowly decreased from the pith outward to the bark side. Average ring width and ring density were significantly affected by the various tree growth rates, radial ring numbers, and tree height positions. ED, LD, Dmax, Dmin, and LWP were the most important factors determining the overall RD. RW did not correlate with tree RD. SWR is correlated with ED, RD, Dmin, LWP, and intra-ring density variation (IDV). Thus, the SWR can be used to predict wood density and in nondestructive evaluation of a living tree.  相似文献

In our investigation we studied fiber lengths and the transition age from juvenile to mature wood in Acer velutinum Boiss. For this purpose, samples from three normal maple trees at a Noshahr site in northern Iran were selected. Disks were cut at breast height. Test samples were taken along a radial direction from the pith to the bark, accounting for every ring during a 48-year period. We used the Franklin method to distinguish between fibers of juvenile and mature wood. The results show that the fiber length increased along the radial direction from the pith to the bark. The transition age between juvenile and mature wood was determined at the 14th annual ring from the pith.  相似文献

利用聚乙烯醇缩甲醛改性剂对杉木木材进行浸溃改性,对其改性材的尺寸稳定性进行研究。结果表明:改性材的弦向、径向和体积干缩率与素材相比均有不同程度的下降;改性材的弦向、径向和体积湿胀率与素材相比也均有不同程度的下降,但当改性剂浓度超过20%时,下降才较明显;改性材吸水率随改性剂浓度的上升而下降,最大可由改性前的197%下降到改性后的155%;改性材的抗干缩系数(ASE)随改性剂浓度上升而增加,最大可达18.8%。杉木改性材的尺寸稳定性能要明显优于素材。  相似文献

The wood quality from 50- to 70-year-old Tectona grandis trees from an unmanaged forest in East Timor was assessed. The aim was to evaluate teak in mature stands that had undergone uncontrolled disturbances, e.g., fire and local community usage. Heartwood represented 91% of the tree radius at a height of 1.7 m, and sapwood contained on average nine rings. The mean ring width showed within-tree and between-tree variability. The chemical compositions of heartwood and sapwood were similar. Within-tree chemical variation occurred only in terms of extractives, which increased from the pith (8.3%) to the heartwood-sapwood transition (12.7%) and decreased in the sapwood (9.2%). Overall, the wood properties of teak from a unmanaged forest in East Timor were comparable to those reported for plantation teaks of other origin: 607 kg/m3 basic density, 3.5% and 5.2% radial and tangential shrinkage, 141 N/mm2 modulus of rupture, 10684 N/mm2 modulus of elasticity, and 50 N/mm2 maximum crushing strength in compression parallel to the grain. Disturbances on individual tree growth arising from the unmanaged status of the stand were evidenced by higher within-tree variability of ring width. However, the longitudinal and radial variations of wood density and mechanical properties were of low magnitude and in a degree that did not negatively impact on timber quality.  相似文献

Radial variations of wood properties (basic density, fiber length, vessel element length, and compression strength) in plantation-grown Casuarina equisetifolia in Bangladesh were investigated for effective utilization of the wood. Samples disks at breast height were randomly collected from trees in a 10-year-old plantation in Cox’s Bazar Forest Division, Bangladesh. The basic density showed a near-constant value up to 30 mm from the pith and then rapidly increased up to 60 mm from the pith. The fiber length and vessel element length gradually increased from the pith to bark. When radial variation of wood properties was determined according to relative distance from the pith, similar radial patterns were observed among the sample trees, indicating that the wood properties in C. equisetifolia may be related to the growth rate. The compression strength parallel to the grain (CS) increased from the pith to bark. A significant positive correlation was found between the air-dried density and the CS. The results obtained indicated that wood around the pith has a relatively low density, and wood outside the pith area has a relatively high density, suggesting that it could be used as structural lumber.
