Daniel-Navan is a new potato cultivar suitable for the spring crop (between February and July) in the Negev region of Israel, and having a high yielding potential with excellent tuber appearance. The cultivar is resistant to heat stress, Verticillium wilt (V. dahliae) and early blight (Alternaria solani). Tubers of Daniel-Navan are oval, white-skinned, with creamy-white flesh, free of deformities, and growth cracks. It has a high dry matter content (22.7%) and boils and bakes well. The marketable yield of Daniel-Navan obtained at maturity consistently surpasses that of Desiree, the control. Daniel-Navan is a main crop cultivar bred and selected by the Horticultural and Plant Breeding Station, Northern Ireland, and the Agricultural Research Organization, Gilat Experiment Station, Israel. Owing to its high yielding performance and tuber quality, this cultivar could be suitable for use in regions with a hot climate. 相似文献

Ute Russet is an oblong, smooth, fresh market potato with a dark net. It emerges slowly, produces an erect, medium sized vine, and is late maturing. Ute Russet is resistant toSclerotium rolfsii Sacc, and leafroll net necrosis, and moderately resistant toVerticillium wilt and scab. Its total and U.S. No. 1 yield potential is comparable to Centennial Russet in the San Luis Valley of Colorado and greater than Centennial Russet in Kern County, California. 相似文献

North Dakota State University announces the name of a new potato to be called Dakchip. Dakchip is a medium maturing cultivar with chip quality quite comparable to Norchip but better than Kennebec. This new cultivar has round to oblong white skinned tubers and has an excellent plant type and growth. Dakchip is comparable to Kennebec in yield but higher than Norchip. Dakchip has moderate resistance to late blight but is susceptible to most potato viruses and some races of scab. 相似文献

Dakota Pearl (ND2676-10) is a medium-maturing chipping cultivar with uniform, round, bright white-skinned tubers with shallow eyes. Dakota Pearl has the ability to produce commercially acceptable chips following long-term storage at 5.5 C without the need for reconditioning. It yields well under both dryland and irrigated trial conditions in North Dakota. North Central Regional Potato Variety Trial and Snack Food Association Trial results indicate it has wide adaptability. Yield and specific gravity under dryland conditions are similar to Norchip; Dakota Pearl has a low percentage of external defects. Average set is 12 to 14 tubers per hill. Dakota Pearl demonstrates wide consumer appeal as a tablestock cultivar due to attractive tuber appearance and bright-white skin. Sensory evaluation scores for baking, boiling, and microwaving are comparable to those of standard chip cvs Atlantic, NorValley, and Snowden. The specific gravity of Dakota Pearl is similar to cvs Norchip and NorValley, lower than for Atlantic or Snowden. Total glycoalkaloid levels are low, at 1.5 mg/100 g fresh tuber tissue. The North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station released Dakota Pearl on 23 April 1999. 相似文献

NorValley is a multi-purpose, high-yielding, whiteskinned cultivar suitable for processing into chips, dehydrated flakes, or for table stock use. It chips directly from long-term storage at 6 C without reconditioning. NorValley has wide adaptability and is suitable for production on irrigated or non-irrigated land and has a low incidence of hollow heart. NorValley was released by the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station on August 22,1996. 相似文献

Caribe produces smooth, oblong, purple-skinned tubers of excellent type and appearance. This cultivar is early in sizing and maturity and produces tubers of good boiling quality when harvested 80 days after planting. It is well adapted to Atlantic Canada where it has potential in early and maincrop table markets and it has also shown potential in several off-shore potatoproducing countries. 相似文献

Nieta is an early, white-skinned potato with vigorous growth and early bulking. In the Negev region of Israel it is suitable for the spring crop from February to June. The cultivar is resistant to heat stress, tolerant to Verticillium wilt (V. dahliae), and moderately susceptible to early blight (Alternaria solani). Tubers of Nieta, a table market potato, are long-oval, attractive in appearance, free of deformities, and with a high specific gravity. Yields of Nieta exceed those of Blanka, used as the control, by 26%. 相似文献

‘Dakota Jewel’ is a medium- to late-maturing potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) cultivar; however, tuber maturity is early. Tubers are smooth, round to oblong in shape, with bright red skin and white flesh. Dakota Jewel is suitable for the fresh tablestock market, both directly from the field and following storage. Yield potential is medium, with total yield, U.S. No. 1s and percentage U.S. No. 1s of Dakota Jewel equal to those of Red Norland; size distribution is similar. Dakota Jewel sizes early, retains its color in storage, and has strong dormancy. It is susceptible to hollow heart. A mean specific gravity of 1.077 across non-irrigated and irrigated sites in North Dakota is much higher than Red Norland and Red Pontiac, standard red tablestock cultivars. Sensory evaluation scores of baked, boiled, and microwaved tubers are similar to Red Norland and Red Pontiac. Dakota Jewel was released by the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station on 26 March 2004. 相似文献

Redsen is a smooth, round, bright red-skinned potato cultivar with medium to high yield potential. It has resistance to race 0 of late blight (Phytophthora infestons) and is moderately resistant to some strains of silver scurf (Helminthosporium solanum) and common scab (Streptomyces scabies). The red color resists fading during storage and Redsen retains excellent marketability during storage. 相似文献

Coastal Russet (tested as B9596-2) is a clone with mid-season maturity that produces russet skin tubers that are long and slightly flattened. Tuber yields in the eastern portions of the United States have been considerably greater than for BelRus. Tubers are well-shaped, have shallow eyes, and are attractive in appearance. Tuber appearance and size make this cultivar very well suited for the tablestock market. It is not suitable for processing. Coastal Russet is highly resistant to tuber net necrosis caused by late current season infection with leafroll and is tolerant to common scab. 相似文献

AC Stampede Russet has a maincrop maturity, and the tubers reach maximum size in western Canada in early to mid-September. The tubers are attractive with russet skin, shallow eyes, an oblong shape, and are very uniform in size. The cultivar is suitable for french fry or fresh market (count carton) production. It appears to perform best under irrigated conditions. The cultivar provides the industry with a russet-skinned, dual purpose russet cultivar with high yield, low defect levels, excellent fresh market appeal, and good storage quality for both the french fry and fresh market industries. 相似文献

AC Ptarmigan is an early maturing, buff skin, cream flesh potato cultivar which has good, stable chip quality and can be processed directly from the field. The cultivar has uniform attractive tubers with shallow eyes. It is moderately resistant to common scab, early blight, potato virus Y and potato leafroll virus. It is susceptible to late blight and shows clear field symptoms when infected with bacterial ring rot. 相似文献

NorDonna is a mid-season, red-skinned, white-fleshed cultivar that yields a large percentage of U.S. No. 1 tubers in diverse growing areas under both dryland and irrigated conditions. It tends to have a darker red skin and a lower incidence of hollow heart when compared to other red cultivars. Intended for tablestock use, NorDonna has baking, boiling, and microwaving properties comparable to Red Pontiac or Red Norland. The North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station released NorDonna on April 28, 1995. 相似文献
