Barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus‐galli) proliferation seriously threatens rice production worldwide. Whole‐plant bioassays were conducted in order to test the sensitivity to penoxsulam of 52 barnyardgrass populations and the resistance of six penoxsulam‐resistant populations to 12 other herbicides that are commonly used in rice fields. Among the 48 populations that had escaped penoxsulam control in the rice fields, 8.3% showed a very high level of resistance, 58.3% showed a high level of resistance and 10.4% showed a moderate level of resistance. Multiple resistance was confirmed in all six penoxsulam‐resistant populations that were tested further. They exhibited at least a moderate level of resistance; that is, to 6–10 of the total of 13 herbicides that was tested. Most of the six penoxsulam‐resistant populations showed at least a moderate level of resistance to bispyribac‐sodium, quinclorac, metamifop, cyhalofop‐butyl and oxadiazon, three populations held at least a moderate level of resistance to oxyfluorfen and pretilachlor, two populations also held at least a moderate level of resistance to pyrazosulfuron‐ethyl, pyribenzoxim and fenoxaprop‐P‐ethyl, but the resistance indices of the six populations to pendimethalin were all low. Echinochloa crus‐galli is a serious weed worldwide. Microsatellite markers (simple sequence repeats, SSRs) are important molecular markers that are used widely for studying genetic diversity in plants. However, a limited number of SSRs is available for E. crus‐galli. The restriction site‐associated DNA (RAD) sequencing approach was combined with Illumina DNA sequencing for the rapid and mass detection of SSRs in E. crus‐galli. The RAD tags were generated from the genomic DNA of E. crus‐galli and were sequenced in order to produce 6921.6 Mb of high‐quality sequences with 45.1% guanine–cytosine content. In total, 3081 putative SSRs were detected, of which 82.2% were dinucleotide motif‐repeats. AT was the most frequent motif, accounting for 35.0% of the SSRs. In order to test the validity of the SSRs that were developed here, eight SSRs that were selected from putative SSRs were used to study the genetic diversity and structures of 20 E. crus‐galli populations that had been collected from rice fields in eastern China. Ninety‐seven alleles were amplified from the eight microsatellite loci among the 20 E. crus‐galli populations. These populations showed low genetic diversity and were classified on the basis of their genetic structures into three distinct groups that corresponded to the three regions of population sampling. The SSRs that were identified in this study represent a valuable resource for studying the genetic diversity, population biology and evolution of E. crus‐galli.  相似文献

Experiments were conducted to (i) evaluate the efficacy of propanil formulations available in Sri Lanka in controlling Echinochloa crus‐galli; (ii) study the seedling growth of propanil‐resistant (R) and ‐susceptible (S) biotypes of the weed under different temperatures; (iii) quantify the level of resistance in R biotypes and; (iv) to suggest alternative control measures for R biotypes. Field studies showed that retail propanil formulations (36% a.i., EC) applied at 2.7 kg a.i. ha?1 gave less than 30% control of E. crus‐galli collected from several locations of the north dry zone of Sri Lanka. Chemical analysis revealed that there was no adulteration of propanil formulations at the retailer level. Growth studies conducted in controlled environments indicated that per cent germination and seedling growth of R and S biotypes were similar at the day/night temperature regimes imposed. However, per cent germination for plants grown under a 34/31°C (day/night) regime was 27–29% higher compared to those grown at 28/24°C. At the higher temperature regime, R and S biotypes reached the 2–3 leaf stage five days earlier, and the 4–5 leaf stage seven days earlier. The ED50 values from the dose–response experiments indicated that the R biotype was four times more resistant to propanil than susceptible ones. The resistance index (RI) did not vary significantly under different temperature regimes. Quinclorac (25% a.i., SC) applied at 200 g a.i. ha?1 and bispyribac‐sodium (10% a.i., SC) applied at 30 g a.i. ha?1 (recommended dosages) successfully controlled propanil‐resistant biotypes of E. crus‐galli. Conversely, oxadiazon and propanil (8% and 23% a.i., EC, respectively) applied at 280 + 805 g a.i. ha?1 did not result in satisfactory control.  相似文献

The efficacy of cyhalofop‐butyl with tank‐mixed adjuvants on barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus‐galli [L.] Beauv.), as well as the physico‐chemical properties, absorption and translocation, was evaluated and compared. The efficacy experiment showed that the treatments with tank‐mixed adjuvants were approximately twofold more effective than with cyhalofop‐butyl alone at 2% (v/v) (silwet 625 at 0.05%). The surface tension decreased and the droplets could spread automatically on the leaves after adding the adjuvants. The spreading speed increased significantly with the adjuvants. The epidermal cells and wax layer were damaged by the adjuvants. The absorption of cyhalofop‐butyl was increased significantly after adding the tank‐mixed adjuvants. GY‐T12 and silwet 625 were conducive to upward translocation and all six tank‐mixed adjuvants promoted the downward translocation of the herbicide. The results demonstrate that adjuvants can have a considerable influence on the efficiency of cyhalofop‐butyl on barnyardgrass.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Fenoxaprop‐P‐ethyl is a herbicide used on cereals and in particular on rice, the degradation of which leads to several relevant metabolites. The herbicide is used together with an agronomic safener such as isoxadifen‐ethyl, which also generates some metabolites. The present work was aimed at developing and validating an analytical method for the determination of the above parent compounds and their main metabolites in the edible fractions of rice. Parent compounds were extracted in acetonitrile and determined by gas chromatography with a mass spectrometer detector, while metabolites were extracted in acetonitrile and analysed by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry. RESULTS: The method was validated through recovery tests in rice straw, grain and plant: accuracy was in the range 76–86% and 90–103% for parent compounds and metabolites respectively. Precision, as relative standard deviation, was in the range 3–11% and 6–17% for parent compounds and metabolites respectively. The limit of detection was 0.01 mg kg?1 for each analyte, while the limit of quantification was set at 0.05 mg kg?1. While weeds generally are considered as the most important overarching production constraints in inland‐valley cropping systems in West Africa, little is known about species' associations with environmental and crop management factors. Weed species' associations with seasonal and environmental factors, such as their position on the catena, soils and cropping systems, were studied during two seasons (dry and wet) in 45 arable fields of three inland valleys in south‐western Benin, Africa. The three most dominant weed species were Dactyloctenium aegyptium, Commelina benghalensis and Digitaria horizontalis on the inland‐valley crests (uplands), Ludwigia hyssopifolia, Corchorus aestuans and Ludwigia octovalvis on the sloping hydromorphic fringes and Leersia hexandra, Ipomoea aquatica and Fimbristylis ferruginea in the valley bottoms (lowlands). Echinochloa colona, Cleome viscosa and Talinum triangulare were the three most dominant species in the dry‐season crops (maize or vegetables) and Leer. hexandra, I. aquatica and Sphenoclea zeylanica were the three most dominant species in the wet‐season crop (rice). Ageratum conyzoides, Synedrella nodiflora and D. horizontalis were observed throughout the catena. Problem weeds in inland‐valley agro‐ecosystems are those that combine a high frequency with a high submergence tolerance and ecological plasticity, C4 grasses, perennial C3 species with persistent root structures and broad‐leaved species with high propagation rates. Weed management strategies that are aimed at increasing the resilience of rice‐based cropping systems in the inland valleys of the southern Guinea Savanna of Africa should address the categories of problem species that were identified in this study. This can be done best by following an integrated approach, including the use of more weed‐competitive cultivars and rotation crops.  相似文献
