The acceptability of eight diets made by a wide variety of microparticulate manufacturing processes was studied using first-feeding walleye Stizostedion vitreum larvae. Diets were formulated using a common dietary mix but differed in manufacture technique. The microparticulate diets fed were (1) carrageenan bound, (2) alginate bound, (3) starch/konjack bound, (4) microextruded/maurmurized (MEM), (5) zein bound, (6) carboxymethyl cellulose bound (CMC), (7) particle-assisted rotationally agglomerated (PARA) and (8) a commercial microparticulate diet (Fry Feed Kyowa B-700, FFK). Controls were groups fed live Artemia nauplii and unfed. Gut fullness was measured as the cross-sectional optical area of the bolus visible through the transparent body of the larvae using computer-aided image analysis. Feeding incidence on MEM particles (71 ± 8%, mean ± standard error), zein-bound particles (69 ± 7%), alginate-bound particles (68 ± 2%) and PARA particles (65 ± 6%) were not significantly different ( P   0.05) from the feeding incidence for Artemia (71 ± 6%). FFK (49 ± 14%) and particles bound with carboxymethyl cellulose (27 ± 0.07%), starch (21 ± 10%) or carrageenan (20 ± 0.8%) had significantly ( P  < 0.05) lower feeding incidence. Larvae that did initiate feeding did not differ significantly ( P  > 0.05) in the amount of each microparticulate diet or Artemia consumed. This data indicates that once first-feeding walleye start on a diet, they will consume that diet to a similar fixed level of satiation. Given the differences in the amounts of water and nutrients in the various diets, more nutrients were delivered to the gut of walleye larvae feeding on microparticulate diets than on the Artemia control.  相似文献

采用(CA)_(12)(AG)_(12)及(TA)_(16)生物素标记探针及磁珠富集法构建了斑节对虾Penaeus monodon基因组微卫星富集文库。随机挑选254个克隆进行PCR筛选,得到51个候选克隆(20.1%)。其中,32个克隆来源于CA-文库,另19个克隆来源于AG-文库。测序发现48个克隆含有微卫星重复单元,通过序列比对,最终获得40个具有特异微卫星序列的阳性克隆。微卫星(GA/CT)_N及(CA/GT)_n 2碱基重复序列分别占所有分离的微卫星数目的20.7%及60.4%。此外,还检测到其它多种微卫星重复类型,如(AT)_n、(GC)_n、(TGG)_n、(AAG)_n、(AAT)_n、(GAA)_n、(GTGC)_n、(GCGT)_n、(GGTTA)_n、(GTGCGT)_n,占检测到的微卫星数目的18.9%。获得的微卫星序列中属于完全型序列的有76条(68.5%),不完全型序列的有22条(19.8%),另有13条属于复合型序列(11.7%)。微卫星(GT/CA)_n 2碱基重复次数(3~52次)要远大于(GA/CT)_n 2碱基次数(3~27次)。获得的微卫星序列长度大小范围为129~601 bp,平均为286 bp。研究为进一步开展斑节对虾分子育种及资源评价分析提供了基础资料。  相似文献

利用50个5.0×5.0×1.8m陆基围隔研究了中国对虾与台湾红罗非鱼、海湾扇贝和缢蛏投饵或施肥混养及鲈鱼与中国对虾和台湾红罗非鱼混养最佳结构的生态效率、生产效果和经济效益。结果表明,几种综合养殖系统最佳结构下各种养殖对象对N的绝对利用率由高至低依次为:鲈鱼-对虾-罗非鱼(30.91%)>对虾-海湾扇贝(21.09%)>对虾-罗非鱼施肥混养(20.12%)>对虾-罗非鱼投饵混养(17.81%)>对虾-缢蛏(16.93%)>单养对虾(11.52%);对P的绝对利用率由高至低依次为:对虾-缢蛏(16.08%)>鲈鱼-对虾-罗非鱼(12.83%)>对虾-罗非鱼投饵混养(12.63%)>单养对虾(10.88%)>对虾-海湾扇贝(6.01%)>对虾-罗非鱼施肥混养(4.04%);其产出投入比由高至低依次为:对虾-罗非鱼投饵混养(1.99)>对虾-罗非鱼施肥混养(1.98)>对虾-海湾扇贝(1.53)>单养对虾(1.38)>鲈鱼-对虾-罗非鱼(1.30)>对虾-缢蛏(1.23)。  相似文献

We incorporated explanatory factors including stream habitat type and fish density into individual‐based models with dynamic connections among adjacent habitat units to infer dispersal behaviour of juvenile steelhead Oncorhynchus mykiss in a Great Lakes watershed. We used mark–recapture data and an inverse modelling approach to estimate daily probability of steelhead moving out of a habitat unit, P(move), according to four competing models. The models used included (i) a null model where all fish had equal movement probability; (ii) a habitat‐dependent model where P(move) depended on the habitat type; (iii) a density‐dependent model of P(move); and (iv) a model where P(move) depended on both density and habitat type. The habitat‐dependent model provided the most parsimonious fit to the observed data according to Akaike's information criteria (AICc). In the null model, P(move) averaged 0.70, whereas P(move) averaged 0.75 in pools, 0.68 in riffles and 0.73 in runs in the habitat‐dependent model.  相似文献

Growth, survival, and body composition were evaluated in two feeding trials using juvenile hybrid bluegill Lepomis cyanellus × L. macrochirus . In Experiment 1, hybrid bluegill (20 g) were stocked into 1.25-m3 cages at a rate of 300 fish/cage and fed diets containing 35, 40, 44, or 48% protein for 12 wk. Fish meal comprised 32% of the dietary protein in all diets. Fish were fed all they could consume in 40 min. No significant differences ( P > 0.05) in individual length, individual weight, specific growth rate (SGR), condition factor (K), and feed conversion ratio (FCR) were found among treatments and averaged 13.4 cm, 47.4 g, 1.02%/d, 1.96, and 4.06, respectively. Whole-body composition of hybrid bluegill indicated that fish fed a diet containing 35% protein had a significantly lower ( P < 0.05) percentage protein (56.3%) and a higher ( P < 0.05) percentage lipid (29.3%) compared to fish fed diets containing 40, 44, and 48% protein. In Experiment 2, 15 hybrid bluegill (15 g) were stocked into 110-L aquaria and fed one of four diets containing 28, 32, 36, or 38% protein for 10 wk. Fish were fed twice daily all they would consume in 20 min. Fish fed a diet containing 38% protein had higher ( P < 0.05) percentage weight gain (265%) than fish fed diets containing 28% (203%) and 32% (219%) protein, but were not significantly different ( P > 0.05) compared to fish fed a diet containing 36% protein (251%). Feed conversion ratio (FCR) of hybrid bluegill fed diets containing 36% and 38% protein (average 1.39) were significantly lower ( P < 0.05) than fish fed a diet with 28% protein (1.73). Results from these studies indicate that hybrid bluegill can be fed a practical diet containing 35–36% protein (with fish meal comprising 32% of the protein). Further refinement of the diet formulation may allow producers to reduce diet and production costs.  相似文献

Four granular activated carbons (GACs) made of different materials were tested for removal of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) from artificial seawater of a recirculated aquarium. After 70 days in a continuous flow experiment, comparative removal data (grams of GAC required to remove 1 g of DOC) were coconut shell (491), hardwood (84·4), anthracite (837) and bone char (383), indicating the superior performance of hardwood. Scanning electron microscopy showed that microbial colonization of a sample material (hardwood) was slight and occurred exclusively at the surface. Biological enhancement of GAC was considered to be unimportant as a mechanism for DOC removal.  相似文献

The effect of different periods of starvation (0, 2, 4 and 8 days) followed by re-feeding on growth, feed utilization, oxygen consumption and some immune indexes [reactive oxygen intermediates (ROIs), activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT)] was evaluated over an 18-day experimental period in shrimp Macrobrachium nipponense (De Haan) that had an initial body weight of 0.52 g. As a result of compensatory growth, indicated by an increase in specific growth rate (SGR), feeding rate (FR) and feed conversion efficiency (FCE) after re-feeding, final body weight of shrimp starved for 2 days (0.63 g) and 4 days (0.65 g) did not differ ( P >0.05) from the control group (0.64 g), with feed withholding for 8 days presenting a significant lower value (0.63 g). Oxygen consumption rate (OCR) decreased during the starvation period in all groups, followed by a gradual increase to a similar ( P >0.05) value than found in the control group (0.47 mg kg−1 h−1) at the end of the experiment. Although ROIs and the activity of SOD and CAT fluctuated during starvation in the feed-deprived groups, values at the termination of the experiment were comparable ( P >0.05) to those found for the control group.  相似文献

The carbon nanomaterial fullerene (C(60)) can act as anti or pro-oxidant. The aim of this study was to evaluate, in cell suspensions of carp brains (Cyprinus carpio, Cyprinidae), the effect of C(60) after a pre-treatment with polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFAs) such as omega-3 (docosahexaenoic acid, DHA) and omega-6 (linoleic acid, LA). In the present study, it was examined whether variability in chemical composition of different cottonseed (Nazilli‐M39, Nazilli‐84 and Çukurova‐1518) meals (CSMs) and sunflower (Sanbro, Isera and Coban) meals (SFMs) had any effects on digestibility when fed to grass carp. Protein and energy digestibility of CSMs (83.2–86.8%; 88.7–92.5%) and SFMs (78.9–83.1%; 88.4–92%) had a coefficient of variation of 1.96% (CSMs) and 1.52% (SFMs) for protein and 1.93% (CSMs) and 1.82% (SFMs) for energy digestibility. Sum of amino acids digestibility of CSMs (83.1–86.5%) and SFMs (78.9–83.4%) had a coefficient of variation of 1.85% and 2.47%, respectively. Protein and energy digestibility of CSMs and SFMs was significantly positive affected by a range of compositional features including protein or sum of amino acids and phosphorus content, and significantly negative affected by fiber and carbohydrate contents in the test ingredients. This suggested that fiber and carbohydrate contents of CSMs and SFMs may also be influencing the nutritional value of its own protein or sum of amino acids. In conclusion, the relationship between plant protein meals protein content and its digestible value provides a good support for the development of a system of grain segregation by protein content and ingredient pricing according to that protein content.  相似文献

为探究长江中下游浅水湖泊沉积物碳、氮、磷等生源要素的含量及其对浮游藻类和沉水植物的影响,本研究以长江中下游11个浅水湖泊为研究对象,分析了2003年至2020年夏季时沉积物总氮(TNSed)、总磷(TPSed)和有机碳(TOCSed)含量与浮游藻类和沉水植物的关系。结果表明:(1)在长江中下游湖泊中,TPSed在藻型湖泊(0.71(0.24~1.14)g/kg)中最高,草型湖泊(0.52(0.34~0.62)g/kg)中最低。TNSed和TOCSed则在草型湖泊(TNSed:4.64(1.06~7.97)g/kg; TOCSed:55.89(4.64~101.69)g/kg)中最高,中间态湖泊(TNSed:1.86(0.71~3.64)g/kg; TOCSed:20.00(8.41~35.62)g/kg)中最低。(2)夏季浮游藻类叶绿素a含量(Chl a)随TPSed的增加而显著上升,沉水植物生物量(BMac)随TPSed的增加而显著下降,而TNSed和TOCSed对Chl a和BMac的影响不显著。(3)长江中下游湖泊夏季沉水植物消失的沉积物总磷阈值约为0.87~0.98 g/kg。以上研究结果表明:在长江中下游湖泊中,相比沉积物碳、氮含量,磷含量对浮游藻类和沉水植物生物量的预测力更高,进一步研究二者定量关系后可为评价水生态系统沉积物污染状况及确定水生植被修复的沉积物条件需求等提供科学依据。  相似文献

Nervous necrosis virus (NNV) infection induces host cell apoptosis by an ill-understood process. We utilized a fusion between enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) and the zfBcl-x(L) gene in GL-av cells to select for zfBcl-x(L) stable cell lines and to assess the effectiveness of the anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-x(L) in circumventing NNV-induced cell death. Stable EGFP and EGFP-Bcl-x(L)-expressing clones were obtained at high purity within 2.5-3 months. In the latter, the EGFP-Bcl-x(L) fusion protein (approximately 58.2 kDa, as ascertained by Western blot) was predominantly targeted to mitochondria. We assayed for apoptosis in red-spotted grouper NNV Tainan no. 1 (RGNNV TN1)-infected cells with terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT)-mediated end labelling (TUNEL) of DNA at different virus doses. NNV infection of NNV Bcl-x(L) GL-av cell line revealed a protective effect, with a decrease in TUNEL-positive cells of 7%, 8% and 31.8% at 24, 48 and 72 h, respectively. In addition, RGNNV infection of the Bcl-x(L) GL-av cell line revealed a protective effect, with an enhanced viability of 3%, 40% and 73% at 24, 48, and 72 h, respectively. We conclude that NNV-induced apoptotic cell death can be lessened in transgenic grouper fish cells.  相似文献

In Mexico, marine finfish cage culture is envisioned as an economic alternative for coastal fishermen. Because research and outreach have not yet proved that this is profitable, assessing the investment through financial risk assessment and setting reference points for expected outcomes is useful. For Lutjanus guttatus, this research reports on a 10-year investment analysis of a pilot-scale, ongrowing four-cage module tested in Mazatlán, Mexico that incorporated a) hatchery-reared fry, b) species-specific feed and c) a second-generation prototype cage, all of them results of almost a decade of research. Two production scenarios were examined: Scenario I, with a high survival rate (90%–95%) and a low feed conversion ratio (FCR) (1.4–1.7), and Scenario II, with a low survival rate (67%–75%) and a high FCR (1.8–2.0). The net present value results are positive for Scenario I (mean?=?US$134,709, and a 95% probability interval (PI) [US$91,621; US$176,436]) and negative for Scenario II (mean?=?US-$79,082, 95% PI [US-$116,140; US-$42,054]). To identify feasibility improvement, reference points (threshold values) for survival, FCR, fry and feed costs were determined.  相似文献

Abstract. Growth and survival were compared among uniform- and mixed-age groups of Florida red tilapia fry during sex reversal in brackishwater (12ppt) tanks, under commercial-scale hatchery conditions. Three treatment groups of post-yolksac (i.e. free-swimming) stage fry of different age compositions were compared: (1) 100% fry collected at the free-swimming stage (FSF); (2) 100% fry obtained through artificial incubation of eggs and non-swimming sacfry (ENS); and (3) a mixed group consisting of 50% of each type (FSF+ENS). Fry were stocked into 530–1 cylindroconical tanks at a density of seven fish/l (3700/tank) and reared on an androgen-treated diet for 30 days. While specific growth rates (range = 17·1–17·8% body weight/day) did not differ (P > 0·05) among treatments, significant (P < 0.05) differences were observed for survival and feed conversion ratio (FCR). ENS showed highest survival (76·8%) and lowest FCR (1·14), FSF showed intermediate survival (59·2%) and FCR(l·33), while the mixed-age group (FSF+ENS) showed lowest survival (38·5%) and highest FCR (1·70). Under all treatments, a majority of fry losses were attributed to cannibalism. A highly significant ( P < 0·001) negative regression between survival and coefficient of variation of initial weights (CV = SD/) indicated that cannibalism was reduced by minimizing age/size variation at stocking. The CV of initial weight may be a useful parameter for predicting fry survival under intensive tank culture.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: The correlation between hematology and plasma chemistry was examined in natural silver crucian carp Carassius langsdorfii. Three microsatellite DNA markers identified five clonal lines. Blood was obtained from the caudal vessels and analyzed using automatic analysis systems. The correlation between several parameters including erythrocyte count (RBC), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), plasma glucose (Glu) and total protein (TP) was assessed by liner regression. Hemoglobin (Hgb) and hematocrit (Hct) as a function of the erythrocyte count, hematocrit as a function of the hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) as a function of the mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) as a function of the mean corpuscular hemoglobin, and total protein as a function of triglyceride (TG) were positively correlated for the five clonal lines. Different regression slopes ( b -value) of RBC to Hgb and Hct were found among clonal lines, while no such differences were found among slopes of the remaining regression equation. This phenomenon suggests that the significantly different slopes among parameters, which indicated low genetic influence at the each parameter, clearly detected the genetic influences as the compound effect of these parameters.  相似文献

Abstract. This study describes differences in scale characters between fanned, ranched and wild Atlantic salmon, Salmo salar h., and proposes a method to distinguish between the different groups. Six characters were found to differ: (1) smolt size; (2) smolt age; (3) transition from fresh water to salt water; (4) sea winter bands; (5) summer checks; (6) replacement scales. The combined use of these characters in a score system gave good separation between fanned and wild salmon, but not for ranched salmon.  相似文献

The effects of time restricted feeding, possibility of bottomfeeding and stocking density on the growth of Arctic charr(Salvelinus alpinus L.) were examined in fish held at lowtemperature (<2 °C). Fish fed for a restricted time (1 h) hadsignificantly (p < 0.05) lower specific growth rate (0.15 vs0.32% per day) than those fed the same ration over an extendedtime period (12 h). Increasing stocking densities had a positive andsignificant effect (p < 0.05) on growth with SGR increasing from 0.27to 0.52% per day at 2–30 kg m-3. Fish withaccess to feed on the tank floor had a significantly higher (p <0.05) growth rate (0.3 vs 0.13% per day) than those without thepossibility to feed from the bottom. When fish were held underconditions without access to the bottom a doubling of the feed rationdid not result in a significant (p > 0.05) increase in growth rate(0.13 vs 0.12%percnt; per day).  相似文献

Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) is a serine protease of great interest because it has been shown to modulate the activity of several peptidergic factors including peptide YY (PYY) and glucagon-like peptide-1/2. While PYY(1–36) is orexigenic in mammals, PYY(3–36) recently garnered interest as a potent anorexigen. In silico phylogenetic analysis found that the DPP4 cleavage sites are absent in fish PYY sequences. However, no studies were conducted to show that indeed PYY(3–36) is not produced by DPP4 in fish. If DPP4 does not cleave PYY(1–36), is PYY(3–36) an anorexigen in fish? The objectives of this research were to (1) test whether DPP4 cleaves goldfish PYY(1–36) and (2) determine whether PYY(3–36) is an anorexigen in goldfish. First, we identified the highly conserved catalytic region of DPP4 in goldfish. Abundant expression of DPP4 mRNA was found within the gastrointestinal tract. We also report the first MALDI-MS cleavage analysis of DPP4 effects on PYY(1–36) in a non-mammalian vertebrate. Our novel results indicate that DPP4 is unable to cleave goldfish PYY(1–36) to PYY(3–36) in vitro. It also confirms a previously held hypothesis that DPP4 is unable to cleave fish PYY(1–36) that contains N-terminal proline–proline residues. PYY(3–36) had no effects on food intake of goldfish. The appetite inhibitory effects of intraperitoneal and intracerebroventricular injections of 10 ng/g body weight gfPYY(1–36) were abolished by coinjections of BIBP3226, a Y1 receptor antagonist. These results are significant because it shows the lack of generation of endogenous PYY(3–36) and its anorectic effects in goldfish.  相似文献

Non-faecal phosphorus (P) was determined for large yellowtail to estimate a minimum available P requirement (Experiment  1) and to justify inorganic P supplementation in a fish meal-based diet (Experiment 2). In Experiment 1, purified diets with incremental P concentrations were fed to yellowtail (mean weight 917 g) at a feeding rate of 1.5% of body weight. The peaks of non-faecal P excretion appeared 5–6 h after feeding in fish fed more than 4.5 g available P kg−1 dry diet. Broken-line analysis indicated that the minimum available P requirement was 4.4 g kg−1 dry diet. In Experiment 2, a purified diet (PR) containing 6.5 g available P kg−1 and a fish meal-based diet with (F1) and without (F0) additional phosphorus were fed to yellowtail (mean weight 1.1 kg) at 1.5% (PR) and 2% (F0 and F1) feeding rates respectively. There was no significant difference in P excretion between fish fed the F0 (5.5 g soluble P kg−1 dry diet) and the PR diet. However, significantly higher (34.5%) amounts of non-faecal P excretions (7.4 g soluble P kg−1 dry diet) were found in fish fed F1 compared with the F0 diet. This suggested that there was an excess of dietary P in the F1 diet and that supplementation is not needed in fish meal-based diets for large yellowtail.  相似文献
