Following anther culture of various F1 hybrids of indica restorer (R) lines/wide compatible varieties (WCVs) and japonica R lines/WCVs, the homozygous diploid plants
(2n) generated were test-crossed with indica WA type cytoplasmic-genetic male sterile (CMS) line Zhanshan 97A (WA), indica
testers Nanjing 11 and Nante, japonica BT CMS line Hanfeng A (BT), and japonica testers Balilla and Akihikari to identify
widely compatible restorer lines. The results of this study showed that among the diploid pollen plants generated from F1 hybrids of indica R lines/WCVs, 36.7% and 64.7% possessed normal fertility restoration ability (rate of seed-setting > 80%)
to Hanfeng A and Zhanshan 97A, respectively. 71.3% and 32.3% had normal fertility restoration ability to Hanfeng A and Zhanshan
97A, respectively, in diploid pollen plants derived from the japonica R lines/WCVs F1's anther culture. Several widely compatible R lines were selected from anther culture of F1 hybrids of indica R lines/WCVs and japonica R lines/WCVs. These widely compatible R lines derived from diploid pollen plants
showed good wide compatibility and restoration ability both to WA and BT type CMS lines. Strong standard heterosis of major
agronomic traits and yield traits was observed in F1 test-crosses of widely compatible R lines with Hanfeng A and Zhanshan 97A. The wide compatibility in widely compatible R
lines H17, H158 and H281 was studied by a set of three-way crosses. Segregation of the fertile plants with seed-setting rate
> 70% and semi-fertile plants with seed-setting rate > 69.9% agreed with a ratio of 1:1, indicating that wide compatibility
in these widely compatible R lines is governed by a pair of major genes.

Identification of restorers and maintainers for developing basmati and non-basmati hybrids in rice, Oryza sativa 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Twenty‐seven improved aromatic lines of germplasm and 18 non‐aromatic disease‐resistant genotypes of rice were test‐crossed with four cytoplasmic male‐sterile lines (IR 58025A, IR 62829A, PMS 3A and PMS 10A). Thirteen aromatic and 10 non‐aromatic genotypes were selected based on pollen fertility, and crosses were repeated to confirm sterility‐maintaining and fertility‐restoring ability. Genotypes were categorized as effective restorers (> 80% spikelet fertility), partial restorers (21‐79% spikelet fertility) and maintainers (< 1% spikelet fertility). The effective basmati restorers identified were Basmati 385, Chandan, P1031‐8‐5‐1, HKR 241‐IET‐12020, SAF Khalsa 7 and Karnal Local. The basmati maintainers identified were Basmati 370, Pusa basmati 1, P615‐K‐167‐13 and P1173‐4‐1. The frequency of restorers obtained was higher for the non‐aromatic than the aromatic basmati type. The performance of restorers varied with cytoplasmic male‐sterile (CMS) line, location and season of testing. The differential ability to restore fertility in the CMS lines that have the wild abortive (WA) cytosterile system could result from different nuclear backgrounds of the CMS lines. These restorers and maintainers possess acceptable grain dimensions, a desirable degree of aroma, volume expansion through linear kernel elongation and cooking quality characteristics of basmati rice. These genotypes will contribute to developing basmati hybrids and provide restorers and maintainers with acceptable key basmati quality characteristics. 相似文献

用7个BT型晚粳不育系和7个粳稻恢复系按NCⅡ交配设计配成49个杂交组合,研究10个重要农艺性状的杂种优势及亲本的配合力。结果表明,各性状的优势有正有负,其中每穗总粒数的优势最为明显,竞争优势和超高亲优势平均值分别为22.6%和8.6%;产量性状的超高亲优势最大,平均值为9.5%,变幅为-38.0%~43.9%,竞争优势平均值变幅为-54.8%~10.3%。在产量性状上配合力较优的不育系有852-77A、后36A和9522A,恢复系有161-10、3402、HP121,优良组合有9522A/161-10、9522A/C166、852-77A/3402。 相似文献

Summary Ten CMS (A) lines and their maintainers (B) and seven restorers (R) were used to make 70 crosses (A/R) and 70 reciprocals (R/B) following line x tester design. The 140 crosses and 17 parents (10 B + 7 R lines) were evaluated in six environments created by three nitrogen fertility levels (0, 60, 120 kg N/ha) and two seasons wet (WS) and dry (DS). Hybrids (both A/R and R/B) were superior to their parents in yield. Hybrids flowered earlier and were taller than the parents. Substantial heterosis, heterobeltiosis and standard heterosis were observed in different environments. Extent of heterosis was higher in WS (stress environment) than in DS (favorable environment). Twenty four hybrids outyielded the standard check (IR46) significantly. Most of them were derived from crosses with parental lines: IR54752A/B, IR58057A/B, IR46 and IR54. For days to flowering, the overall mean heterosis, heterobeltiosis and standard heterosis were all negative values. Heterosis for plant height did not change the plant type of hybrids from semi-dwarf to tall because the parents possessed same dwarfing gene. With proper choice of parents hybrids possessing higher yield potential, early maturity and semi-dwarf plant type can be developed for the tropics. 相似文献

用Rim2超级家族分子指纹鉴别杂交水稻及预测杂种优势 总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
选用5对Rim2引物对21份籼稻和20份粳稻材料进行了DNA指纹扩增,共扩增出38条谱带,其中多态性谱带26条,多态性水平为69.64%;粳稻平均多态性水平为56.67%,明显高于籼稻。根据Nei’s遗传距离计算获得的聚类树状图表明,参试21份籼稻材料聚为6组,20份粳稻材料聚为7组。亲缘关系分析表明,Rim2分子指纹可以区分多数的籼稻或粳稻材料,且显示出材料的遗传特征。考察部分籼稻和粳稻杂交组合的产量对照优势与双亲间遗传距离的关系,发现杂交粳稻的遗传距离与杂交优势表现出相关性,而杂交籼稻无此相关性。 相似文献

克服杂种不育性是利用籼粳亚种间杂种优势的关键。由此对水稻亚种间杂种不育性的原因、细胞学基础及两种主要基因遗传模式进行了总结,并详细综述了利用“亲和基因”克服籼粳杂种不育性的两种有代表性的学说-广亲和基因和特异亲和基因分子定位的最新研究进展,并提出了两“亲和基因”共同利用的初步设想:将聚合了Si等位基因的粳型亲籼系与聚合了不同广亲和基因(中性亲和基因的广亲和力强、亲和谱广泛的粳型品种进行杂交和回交,选育出聚合不同广亲和基因和Si等位基因的粳型亲籼系,再与籼稻品种杂交,真正实现直接利用籼粳亚种间杂种优势。 相似文献

An analysis of hybrid sterility in rice using a diallel cross of 21 parents involving indica, japonica and wide compatibility varieties 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Summary There is much interest in the inter-varietal fertility of Asian cultivated rice. In this study, we analyzed the fertility of hybrids in a diallel set of 210 crosses involving 21 parents representing a broad range of the cultivated rice germplasm including landraces, primitive cultivars, modern elite cultivars and parents of hybrid rice. The materials were also carefully selected with respect to indica-japonica classification including typical indica/japonica, more or less intermediate and wide compatibility varieties. The level of hybrid fertility varied widely among the crosses from almost completely sterile to fully fertile. In general, hybrid fertility of intra-subspecific crosses, i.e., indica by indica (I×I) and japonica by japonica (J×J), is much higher than inter-subspecific crosses (I×J or J×I). The fertility varied widely in hybrids involving wide compatibility varieties and also in inter-subspecific crosses not involving wide compatibility varieties. An analysis of variance showed that both the main effects of indica and japonica parents and the interaction between the parents are highly significant in determining hybrid fertility. We speculate that, in addition to wide compatibility, the overall genetic difference between the indica and japonica parents, that may involve a series of minor mutations, play an important role in determining the hybrid fertility. There are also genes of sizable effect that influence fertility in hybrids resulting from specific combinations of the parents.Abbreviations I×I

Presence of substantial heterosis and economic hybrid seed production are two most desirable components for success of any commercial hybrid breeding programme. Thermosensitive genic male sterile (TGMS) lines of rice, in this regard, have tremendous potential in realizing further quantum jump in yield and economical hybrid seed cost. Analyses for combining ability and heterosis over optimum (120N : 60P2O5 : 40K2O kg/ha) and high (200N : 90P2O5 : 60K2O kg/ha) fertility environments for six traits were made in 2 years (2001 and 2002) using 120 hybrids of inter‐ and intra‐subspecific nature derived from hybridization of 30 elite indica TGMS lines and four cultivars, viz., ‘Pant Dhan 4’ and ‘Ajaya’ (I = indica), ‘Taichung 65’ (J = japonica) and ‘IR 65598‐112‐2’ (TJ = tropical japonica) in line × tester mating design. Predominance of non‐additive genetic variance suggested good prospects of hybrid breeding. Pooled analysis revealed highly significant variances for lines, general combining ability (GCA), specific combining ability (SCA) and line x tester. TGMS line 365‐8S was the best general combiner for all the six traits including grain yield. Trend of relative mid‐parent heterosis for grain yield, panicle length, grain number per panicle and earliness in flowering was I/TJ > I/J > I/I. For panicle number per plant and 1000‐grain weight, trends were I/TJ > I/I > I/J and I/I > I/TJ > I/J, respectively. Grain yield recorded heterosis of 49.3%, 71.9% and 92.7% for I/I, I/J and I/TJ hybrid groups respectively. Effect of environments on the hybrid performance indicated better response of hybrids at high fertilizer dose. Study suggests greater prospects of combining improved japonica and tropical japonica germplasms having wide compatible gene with indica TGMS lines for exploitation of intersubspecific heterosis. 相似文献

以同源四倍体水稻原种零轮、02428、培矮64、轮回422及其成对二倍体为实验材料,分别以琼脂浓度(0.5%、0.75%和1%)、碳源种类(蔗糖和麦芽糖)与用量(60 g L-1和80 g L-1)、不同激动素(KT和Zip)以及不同基本诱导培养基(MS、N6、M8、NB)等因素为变量,共设计26种诱导培养基(2种对照),进行了花药愈伤诱导实验,旨在筛选出愈伤诱导率的培养基优化组合。结果表明,琼脂浓度0.75%和60 g L-1蔗糖组合对提高水稻花药诱导率作用较好, N6培养基及其衍生NB培养基对提高四倍体水稻特别是粳稻花药诱导率有着较好作用。激动素的加入,能显著提高愈伤诱导率,最高可达到84%。在供试的26种培养基中,有6种诱导培养基得到较高的四倍体粳稻愈伤诱导率,有2种诱导培养基得到较高的四倍体籼稻愈伤诱导率,在8种较好的诱导培养基中有3种不但有较高的愈伤诱导率而且具有较高的绿苗率。 相似文献

通过采取不同的常规育种策略和小孢子培养、分子标记辅助选择等现代生物技术,研究了提高甘蓝型油菜萝卜质不育恢复系改良效率的方法。结果表明,在甘蓝型油菜萝卜质不育恢复系杂交转育过程中,采用杂交后代与萝卜质不育系杂交,可使杂交后代分离群体中不具备恢复基因的单株在花期表现出来,无须测交即可进行选择;杂交后代通过小孢子培养,可将稳定纯合时间由传统自交8个世代缩短到3个世代;通过萝卜特异分子标记辅助选择可大大提高选择的精度,减少筛选所需的人力、土地和时间,选择效率提高90%。试验筛选出19个在萝卜质不育恢复系中能够扩增出单一、易于辨别的谱带的SCAR标记引物,其中10个引物在现有的甘蓝型油菜萝卜质不育恢复系中均能检测出特异标记。筛选出的甘蓝型油菜萝卜质不育恢复系的特异分子标记与前人研究存在差异,标记相似系数为48.28%~93.10%。通过分子标记无法区分高硫甙和低硫甙恢复系,选育低硫甙萝卜质不育恢复系还需要借助品质分析仪。成功筛选得到6个甘蓝型油菜低芥酸、低硫甙、抗寒、结角正常、农艺性状优良的萝卜质不育恢复系,为将甘蓝型油菜萝卜质不育杂种优势应用于我国油菜生产奠定了基础。 相似文献

Summary An investigation was made to exploit an innovative tool viz., thermosensitive genic male sterile (TGMS) system in twoline inter-subspecies rice hybrids using 132 hybrids involving four TGMS lines viz., TS15, TS16, TS18 and TS29 and thirty three testers viz., 17 indicas, 7 japonicas and 9 javanicas by line × tester method at Paddy Breeding Station, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, India. Pre-ponderence of non-additive gene action for yield and yield attributing traits was observed by analysing combining ability. TGMS lines TS18, TS29 and the testers CB96073, CB96026, CB94247, TNAU 94241 (indicas), Gohykumangoku (japonica), Dular, PRR16 (javanicas) were good general combiners. The hybrids TS29 × TNAU 94241 (indica/indica), TS 18 × Yamadanishiki (indica/japonica) and TS29 × Dular, TS29 × PRR16 (indica/javanica) were promising for heterosis breeding programme. The japonica tester Gohykumangoku and javanica testers Dular and CPSL0-17 exhibited strong heterosis for spikelet fertility when crossed with TGMS lines TS 16, TS 18, TS 29 indicated that these lines may possess wide compatible gene (WCG) for spikelet fertility. Based on mean performance, standard heterosis and sca for yield and yield traits, the inter – subspecies hybrids viz., TS29 × TNAU 94241, TS18 × TNAU 94241, TS29 × CB96073, TS29 × CB94247, TS29 × CB96026 (indica/indica) TS18 × Yamadanishiki, TS29 × Gohykumangoku (indica/japonica), TS29 × Dular, TS29 × PRR16 (indica/javanica) exhibited high heterosis over check hybrid CORH2 and the above hybrids can be exploited commercially.
