Seven Bremia lactucae isolates from Lactuca serriola were tested for pathogenicity on 41 Lactuca sativa cultivars carrying a race specific resistance gene Dm11 which originated from L. serriola. Some of these cultivars also carried other Dm genes. Sporulation was observed in 34 % of the 287 cultivar/isolate combinations, but it was limited in most cases. A compatible response was recorded in 7.3% of cultivar/isolate. Cultivars with Dm 11 alone, or in combination with Dm 2, exhibited a higher decree of susceptibility then those also carrying Dm 3. There were differences in specific virulence among the isolates under study. Nearly all the isolates studied were virulent on newly described resistance genes Dm 15, Dm 16, and Dm 7 +? which originate from L. serriola.  相似文献

Thirty-one accessions of four Lactuca species (L. serriola, L. saligna, L. aculeata, L. squarrosa) and one L. serriola×L. sativa hybrid were screened for field resistance to Bremia lactucae. In the L. serriola group, significant differences in the level of field resistance were distinguished. The accessions PI 281876 and PI 253467 were free of infection. Moreover, all L. saligna accessions tested were totally free from disease during three-year-investigation.  相似文献

以6个结球莴苣品种为试验材料,从生长发育、经济性状和生理生化等方面研究耐热性的鉴定方法。结果表明,抽薹时间是理想的耐热性鉴定指标。POD和SOD活性、可溶性蛋白和可溶性糖含量、脯氨酸含量及丙二醛含量等生理生化指标与抽薹时间显著相关,因而可作为结球莴苣耐热性鉴定的辅助指标。  相似文献

Summary A total of 1789 accessions of several lettuce collections was screened to find new major gene resistance to the downy mildew fungus Bremia lactucae Regel. The accessions belonged to the species Lactuca sativa (N=1288), L. serriola (N=399), L. saligna (N=52) and L. virosa (N=50). A total of 20 races of B. lactucae were used, 14 of which were NL-races, isolated from cultivated lettuce in the Netherlands. The other six races were isolated from wild L. serriola in Czechoslovakia. The accessions were initially screened with two races: NL1 and NL3. Accessions with resistance to one or both of these races were tested with the other races. Phenotypes with new resistance were found in accessions of all four Lactuca species. Of L. sativa, four accessions were found with resistance phenotypes that could not be explained by combinations of known major genes. Many accessions of L. serriola had resistance phenotypes that indicated the presence of unknown resistance genes. All interactions between accessions of L. saligna and races of B. lactucae were incompatible in leaf disc tests, except for four accessions, which showed some sporulation with race NL6. Several accessions of L. virosa were resistant to all races used. Other accessions of L. virosa gave a race-specific interaction with B. lactucae.  相似文献

Summary Eighty-one accessions of three Lactuca species which showed no recognisable race specific resistance to Bremia lactucae when tested in the laboratory as seedlings, exhibited different degrees of susceptibility when exposed to natural field infection. As a group, crisp genotypes had less mildew and a slower rate of disease development than other types of lettuce. Wild forms of Lactuca sativa and Lactuca serriola were particularly susceptible. In a further trial, the low field susceptibility of three lettuce cultivars (Iceberg, Batavia blonde de Paris and Grand Rapids) was confirmed. Disease development on cv. Iceberg was compared to that on the highly susceptible cv. Hilde in experiments where the two cultivars were grown either in close proximity or in isolation. The absolute level of attack on cv. Iceberg depended upon disease pressure and differences between the two types only became apparent approximately 8 wk after sowing.  相似文献

Summary Over the last 30 years, six resistance alleles (Dm2, Dm3, Dm6, Dm7, Dm11 andDm16) located in two linkage groups, have contributed to the control of downy mildew in lettuce crops grown under protection (glass or polythene) in northern Europe. More recently, an as yet genetically uncharacterised resistance factor, R18, has also begun to assume importance. The occurrence of the various combinations of these resistance alleles that exist in commercial cultivars has been dictated by the pathotypes ofBremia lactucae used in their selection but also restricted by linkage in repulsion. In the UK, a pathotype ofB. lactucae insensitive to phenylamide fungicides, such as metalaxyl, emerged in 1978 and became prevalent throughout lettuce production areas in subsequent years. The specific virulence of this pathotype was identical to the previously described phenylamide sensitive pathotype NL10 and cultivars carryingDm11, Dm16 or R18 were resistant. Consequently, an integrated control strategy based on the utilisation of metalaxyl on cultivars carryingDm11 provided effective control in UK until 1987 when a new phenylamide insensitive pathotype began to cause problems. The specific virulence of this second pathotype, which was first reported in the Netherlands and France, was identical to the previously described phenylamide sensitive pathotype NL15. Cultivars carryingDm6, Dm16 or R18, but notDm11, were resistant to NL15; consequently an appropriate change in the cultivar recommendations for use in the integrated control strategy was successfully promulgated. It is predicted that variations of this integrated control strategy involving the use of appropriately selectedDm gene combinations may prove effective for some time. This prediction is based on studies of the status of the avirulence loci in the two phenylamide insensitive pathotypes and of the specific virulence characteristics of phenylamide sensitive components of the pathogen population.  相似文献

Summary Many lettuce cultivars (Lactuca sativa L.) with high resistance to lettuce root aphid (Pemphigus bursarius L.) also carried the gene Dm-6 for specific resistance to downy mildew (Bremia lactucae Regel). Summary The inheritance of field resistance to downy mildew in lettuce derived from cv. Grand Rapids was studied in F2, F3 and F4 progeny from a cross with the more susceptible cv. Lobjoits Green Cos. The results for 32 randomly produced F3 families and the F2 population corresponded closely although the absolute level of resistance varied from season to season according to disease pressure and environmental conditions. The field resistance character showed a quantitative pattern of inheritance but the rapid response to selection at F3 implied that only a few genes may be involved. F4 families raised from families selected from the two extremes of the F3 distribution fell into distinct categories with resistance levels corresponding to that of their F3 parents. An association between resistance and morphological features of the resistant parent was present at F2 but not in subsequent generations when individuals and families which were as resistant as cv. Grand Rapids and yet bore little morphological resemblance to this cultivar were readily recovered.  相似文献

Summary Twenty-one accessions of 3 wild Lactuca species which could be hybridised with L. sativa, the cultivated lettuce, were inoculated at different stages of plant development with 3 multivirulent isolates of Bremia lactucae. Nineteen sources of resistance to B. lactucae, not attributable to the previously recognised resistance factors 1–11 were identified. Two lines of L. serriola showed similar resistance patterns as lines carrying R11. The resistance of some accession was incomplete particularly at the seedling stage and this phenomenon may be race specific.Tests on segregating F2 populations of crosses between 2 different L. serriola accessions and L. sativa cultivars showed that the resistance in one line (LSE/18) appears to be inherited as a single dominant gene, which is sometimes incomplete in expression and allelic to either Dm6 or R7. The segregation patterns for resistance in PI 281876 did not give readily interpretable ratios.To assess the frequency of occurrence in B. lactucae populations of virulence factors to overcome this novel resistance, 11 of the novel sources of resistance were inoculated with numerous collections of the pathogen from the UK, Czechoslovakia and elsewhere and found to show a high level of resistance.  相似文献

Summary Inheritance of fasciation was investigated in reciprocal crosses between two lettuce varieties: Suzan (non-fasciated) and Noran (fasciated). In glasshouses parental plants, F1, F2, and F3 populations were assessed for fasciation according to a scale from 0 (non-fasciated)-9 (extremely fasciated).The observed environmental variation for fasciation of the homozygous parents was very low or absent, but the environmental variation for the F1 populations was large. On the basis of this large variation of the heterozygous F1 plants we supposed that such a variation also occurred in F2 and F3 populations.Considerable mortality was observed in all generations, which supposedly occurred at random in parents and F1 but was non-random in the segregating F2 and F3 populations. So, means and variances of F2 populations will be biased and therefore they were not used for genetical analyses of fasciation.From F1 and F3 populations and from some F2 populations it appeared that no differences occurred between reciprocals. The differences for fasciation between reciprocal F2 populations in the 1977 A experiment may result from non-random plant survival. A regression of F3-means on the values for fasciation of parental F2 plants, adjusted for their inbreeding, resulted in a realized h2-narrow of 0.4. This indicates that in the surviving plants of the F2 populations still additive genetic variation was present to select successfully for non-fasciated plants.  相似文献

Oat cultivars (n = 22) varying in origin were examined in laboratory and field tests at Svalöv and Ultuna, Sweden, in 1985 and 1986. Comparisons were made between drought resistance characteristics of juvenile plants and drought responses in yield of crops grown in field. By using automatic, movable rain shelters in combination with drip irrigation systems, both high and low irrigation regimes could be effected in the field experiments.
Black oat cultivars were more stable under water deficiency conditions, particularly on sandy soil. They possessed the highest drought resistance indices both in the laboratory and field. Modern white oat cultivars were found to be most drought sensitive.
Drought resistance index (DRI) and seminal root length (RL), as assessed in seedling stage, were strongly correlated with field drought susceptibility index (S). It is suggested that DRI and RL could be used as selection criteria to increase drought resistance of oats.  相似文献

由致病疫霉菌(Phytophthora infestans)引起的晩疫病是世界范围内最具毁灭性的马铃薯(Solanum tuberosum)病害。以含有晚疫病抗性基因R11的材料MaR11和不含已知抗性基因的品种Katahdin为亲本进行有性杂交,对获得的F1分离群体的83个基因型进行了晚疫病菌株接种鉴定和遗传分析。结果表明,R11为主效单基因,在MaR11中以单式形式(R11r11r11r11)存在。应用比较作图和分离群体分组分析(BSA),开发了6个与R11连锁的分子标记,并将R11定位于11号染色体长臂末端。R11距C2_At5g59960标记最近,约为2.4 cM。通过遗传图谱比较表明,R11较晚疫病抗性基因R3a和R10更靠近染色体端粒区。本研究所获得的遗传图谱为进一步构建R11高密度遗传图谱提供了基础。  相似文献

Summary The correlation between resistance levels of seedlings with cotyledons only and leaf discs taken from young and old leaves on the one hand and the resistance of adult plants in bicyclic field tests on the other was investigated. Components of resistance were: latent period (LP) the percentage of seedlings (SEED) or the number of cotyledons (COT) infected, the number of sporangiophores (SPOR) per cotyledon or leaf dise and the % of the surface (SURF) per cotyledon or disc covered with sporangiophores.For both cotyledons and leaf discs, significant differences occurred between plant genotypes for LP, SPOR and SURF. The correspondence between results of cotyledon testing and field testing was generally negligible. There was a rather good correlation between the resistance levels of leaf discs, expressed in SPOR and SURF and the resistance of adult plants. On the basis of a smaller coefficient of variation for SPOR this parameter should be preferred to predict the resistance of adult plants by testing leaf discs.  相似文献

Summary In three bicyclic inoculation experiments in the field 756 genotypes from the IVT Lactuca gene bank were screened for differences in partial resistance against Bremia lactucae. Significant differences between genotypes were found. No linkage was found between the presence or absence of R-genes and partial resistance nor was there a clear relationship between plant characters such as size, erectness and lettuce type and resistance level. Comparison of test results for genotypes which were tested twice and in different years and/or environments revealed a rather good relationship. So no clear genotype × environment interactions for resistance level were found. Results imply that the bicyclic inoculation experiments are useful to determine levels of partial resistance.  相似文献

随着稻瘟病抗性基因的不断发掘与分离克隆,抗病基因在水稻基因组遗传图谱和物理图谱的分布及不同类型抗病基因的结构特点逐渐明了。目前鉴定的水稻抗稻瘟病基因主要分布在除第3染色体以外的其余染色体上,其中第11染色体上分布的稻瘟病抗性基因数目至少有24个。此文概述了水稻抗瘟病基因在基因组的分布和抗性基因的结构特点,重点介绍了水稻基因组第11染色体稻瘟病抗性基因的定位、克隆以及抗病基因类似物和抗性基因在该染色体上的分布特点,并对稻瘟病抗性基因在水稻育种中的应用提出了展望。  相似文献

The cultivar 'Mostyn' of hexaploid oat ( Avena sativa L.) possesses a dominant gene conferring resistance to powdery mildew caused by Erysiphe graminis avenae. The resistance gene, designated Eg -3, was derived from the wild oat Avena sterilis L. var. ludoviciana. Monosomic analysis revealed that this gene was located on chromosome 17, which corresponds to the missing chromosome in the 'Kanota' monosomic line Kl1. This chromosome is associated with the homoeologous group 1 of the Triticeae.  相似文献

The relationships between the digestibility of organic matter, the net energy value, the gas production from in vitro incubation of tissue with rumen liquid, the quantity of yield and the resistance of a variety to disease were investigated in nine alfalfa ( Medicago sativa ) cultivars. The digestibility of organic matter and the net energy value of particular varieties were evaluated on the basis of chemical composition and the quantity of gas produced, while the resistance of cultivars to disease was evaluated visually by counting diseased plants. Negative correlations (r = - 0.85; P < 0.01) were recorded between the resistance of a variety to disease and in vitro production of gas and between the resistance of a variety to disease and net energy value of a cultivar (r = -0.78; P < 0.05) while a positive correlation (r = 0.74; P < 0.05) was established between DM yield and the disease resistance of cultivars.  相似文献

Summary Three lines of lettuce with resistance to Nasonovia ribisnigri, based on the dominant Nr-gene, and four lines selected for partial resistance to Myzus persicae were tested against three species of leaf aphid: N. ribisnigri, M. persicae and Macrosiphum euphorbiae. The effect of the Nr-gene was also studied in a segregating F2 population.In the material tested, resistance to N. ribisnigri was exclusively based on the Nr-gene, lines selected only for resistance to M. persicae showed no resistance to N. ribisnigri. The Nr-gene also induces partial resistance to M. persicae, but the level of this resistance is influenced by other genes, because the lines with Nr-gene differed significantly from each other for reproduction of M. persicae. The Nr-gene had no effect on the resistance of lettuce to M. euphorbiae.In lines with the Nr-gene, levels of resistance to M. persicae and to M. euphorbiae were correlated, suggesting that the resistance may be determined by the same genes. The Nr-line with highest resistance to M. persicae was comparable for this characteristic to the lines selected for resistance to M. persicae.The cultivars Taiwan and Ravel possess a resistance factor to M. euphorbiae that has no effect on M. persicae or N. ribisnigri. Lines selected for resistance to M. persicae also showed partial resistance to M. euphorbiae. Based on the present results no conclusions can be drawn whether this resistance is based on the same genes that provide resistance to M. persicae, or on a resistance factor comparable to that found in Taiwan and Ravel.  相似文献
