This research work involves the dyeing of wool with indicaxanthin, a natural dye extracted from fruits of Opuntia ficus-indica. The optimal conditions for dye extraction were to mix 50 g of Juice from cactus pears with 100 mL of 80% aqueous ethanol as solvent for dye extraction. Liquid chromatography was applied for the separation. Two main dyes were obtained, which were identified as indicaxanthin (75 mg per 50 g) and betanin (5 mg per 50 g). The effect of dye bath pH, salt concentration, dyeing time and temperature were studied. The optimal conditions for wool dyeing with indicaxanthin dye were carried out at 70 °C for 90 min with the pre-treatment of various metal salts as mordant. The colour yields of the dye on the wool were found to be highly dependent of the pH, optimum results being obtained at pH 4. The K/S of wool increased in the order of the dyeing using KAl (SO4)2 > MnSO4 > CoSO4 > FeSO4 > none > ZnSO4 > CuSO4. Un-mordanted samples have good properties of water and washing fastness. Mordants KAl (SO4)2 and CoSO4 were found to give good light fastness (rating 5).  相似文献

The silk fibroin (SF)/chitosan (CHI) blend films were prepared by dissolving them in formic acid. The morphology of the films was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The roughness of the membranes was determined by atomic force microscopy (AFM). These films were treated with the extracts of Pistacia terebinthus, Pistacia lentiscus, and Hypericum empetrifolium. Folin-Ciocalteu assay was used to determine the amount of total phenols adsorbed on these blend films. The antibacterial properties of films were tested using disc diffusion and turbidity measurement methods against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The release of adsorbed phenolics from the film surface resulted in antibacterial properties.  相似文献

This study was carried out to optimize dyeing conditions of unripe Citrus Unshiu extract on silk fabric and to evaluate antimicrobial activity of the dyed fabric for its potential use as a functional natural dye. Unripe fruits of Citrus Unshiu in Jeju Island, Korea, extracted in 80 % Ethanol solution to final solid dye powder were dyed on silk fabric under a variety of conditions such as dye bath concentrations, temperature, and dyeing duration together with mordanting. Dyeing fastness properties to washing, rubbing, perspiration, and light were tested and the antimicrobial activities of the dyed fabric against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae were investigated quantitatively. As results, the fabric showed the maximum dye uptake (K/S) under the conditions of 80 °C for temperature, 30 min for duration, and 600 % (o.w.f.) for dye concentration. Both pre- and post-mordanting seemed not to be effective on increasing K/S values of the dyed silk fabrics under the optimum dyeing conditions. Fastness ratings to washing, rubbing, and perspiration were all very good (4–5 grades) for both 300 and 600 % dyed silk fabrics. Excellent antimicrobial activities over 99 % reduction rate against two both bacteria were exhibited for all of dyed fabrics undergone more than 300 % of dye concentration. From these results, it was concluded that the dye concentration of 300 % of unripe Citrus Unshiu could be employed to produce antimicrobial silk fabric. Furthermore, to get more saturated shades on the fabric by the citrus, higher dye concentration such as 600 % was available as well.  相似文献

A natural colorant was extracted fromCassia tora L. using buffer solutions (pH: 2–11) as extractants. The dyeing solution (Cassia tora L. extract) extracted using pH 9 buffer solution was found to give the highest K/S values of dyed fabrics. Cotton and silk fabrics were dyed withCassia tora L. extract at 60°C for 60 min with pre-treatment of various metal salts as mordants. It was found thatCassia tora L. extract was polygenetic dyestuffs and its major components were anthraquinones. Studies have been made on the effects of the kind of mordant on dyeing properties and colour fastnesses of cotton and silk fabrics. The K/S of cotton fabrics increased in the order of the dyeing using FeSO4>CuSO4>ZnSO4>MnSO4≅Al2(SO4)3>NiSO4>none, however, the K/S of silk fabrics increased in the order of the dyeing using FeSO4>CuSO4>ZnSO4≅Al2(SO4)3>MnSO4≅NiSO4>none. It was found that the K/S values of dyed fabrics were largely affected by the colour difference (ΔE) between mordanted fabric and control fabric. However, they were not depended on the content of mordanted metal ion of the fabrics. Mordants FeSO4 and CuSO4 for cotton fabric, FeSO4, CuSO4, and Al2(SO4)3 for silk fabric were found to give good light fastness (rating 4).  相似文献

In this study silver nanoparticles with different particle sizes and hence colors were synthesized on silk and cotton fabrics through reduction of silver nitrate. Particle sizes of the silver colloids were measured by dynamic light scattering (DLS). The structure and properties of the treated fabrics were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and UV-Vis reflectance spectroscopy. Various characteristics of the treated fabrics including antibacterial activities against a Gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus) and a Gram negative (Escherichia coli) bacteria, color effect, wash and light fastness, water absorption, fabric rigidity, and UV blocking properties were also assessed. The results indicated that the treated fabrics displayed different colors in the presence of silver nanoparticles with different particle sizes and exhibited good and durable fastness properties. Also, the size of the silver particles had a tangible effect on antibacterial activity of treated fabrics and its antibacterial performance was improved by decreasing the size of particles. Moreover, this process imparted significantly UV blocking activity to fabric samples.  相似文献

meta-Aramid fibers have an excellent heat-resistant property and are widely used for protective clothings such as fire-fighter suit and racing suit. They can also be used as military uniforms such as flight suit or army uniform. Vat dyes are specially used for military uniforms owing to outstanding fastness properties, earth tone shade, and near infrared (NIR) camouflage. In this study, 100 % meta-aramid woven fabric was dyed with three vat dyes using an exhaustion method and their dyeing and fastness properties were investigated. Color yields of the vat dyes on the meta-aramid fabric were found to be dependent upon dyeing temperature, liquor ratio, amount of reducing agent, and amount of salt. Dyeing behavior of the vat dye on the meta-aramid fiber was very similar to that on cellulose fibers. It was found that the meta-aramid fabric dyed with 1% owf of C.I. Vat Green 1 satisfied the tolerance of the reflectance spectrum of forest green color in the Korean military standard. Thermal stability and mechanical property of the meta-aramid fabric did not significantly affected by the vat dyeing process. Wash and perspiration fastness was generally good but rubbing and light fastness was unsatisfied.  相似文献

Four kinds of natural dying solutions (natural colorant extracts) were obtained by extraction from gardenia, coffee sludge, Cassia tora. L., and pomegranate using water at 90°C for 90 min with a liquor ratio (solid natural colorant material/solvent water, weight ratio) of 1/10. The dyeing, colour fastness, and deodorizing properties of cotton, silk, and wool fabrics dyed with natural colorant extracts were compared. It was found that these properties were significantly dependent on the concentration of extracts, the structure of colorant, and the kind of fabrics. The order of colour strength (K/S) is Cassia tora. L., pomegranate, coffee sludge, and gardenia. Colour fastness (light, water, and perspiration fastness) was in the range of 2nd–5th grades. The deodorizing performance of fabrics dyed with various natural colorant extracts was in the range of 50–99 %. The deodorizing performance increased in the order of gardenia < Cassia tora. L. < coffee sludge < pomegranate. Especially, the deodorizing performance of all fabrics dyed with pomegranate was found to be highest at 99 %.  相似文献

A new fiber-reactive chitosan derivative was synthesized in two steps from a chitosan of low molecular weight. First, a water-soluble chitosan derivative, N-[(2-hydroxy-3-trimethylammonium)propyl] chitosan chloride (short for HTCC), was prepared by reacting chitosan with 2,3-epoxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride. Second, HTCC was further modified by reacting with N-(hydroxymethyl)-acrylamide to prepare a fiber-reactive chitosan derivative, O-methyl acrylamide quaternary ammonium salt of chitosan (short for NMA-HTCC), which can form covalent bonds with silk fiber under alkaline conditions. The chemical structure of NMA-HTCC was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FTIR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The substitution degree of HTCC and the double-bond content of NMA-HTCC were tested. Then NMA-HTCC was used for antibacterial finishing of Bombyx Mori silk fabric. The results showed that silk fabric treated with NMA-HTCC had a significantly improved antibacterial activity to Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and the antibacterial activity of silk fabric finished by NMA-HTCC was much better than that finished by chitosan and HTCC. Bombyx Mori silk fabric modified with NMA-HTCC demonstrated excellent durable antibacterial activity, even after 50 repeated launderings, the bacterial reduction rate of silk fabric maintained over 95 %.  相似文献

Plasma gases of oxygen and argon were employed for pre-treating silk fabric before conducting electroless silver plating in this study. The effect of plasma pre-treatment with oxygen and argon gases on the electroless silver-plated silk fabric was investigated. Based on the observation of micro-structure using SEM, it was found that there was an increase in the amount of silver particles deposited on the silk fibre surface after plasma pre-treatment. The functional properties of plasmainduced electroless silver-plated silk fabrics were also evaluated. The increase in weight of the silver-plated silk after plasma pre-treatment was determined. When compared, the oxygen plasma treatment could improve the effect of silver plating on the silk fabric. Additionally, anti-static, anti-bacterial, UV protection and water-repellent properties of the silver-plated silk fabric were determined in this study.  相似文献

In this paper, Rajshahi silk fabric was modified by acetic acid, tannic acid and their mixture. After acid modification, the silk fabric was dyed with three dyes classes namely: Reactive Orange 14, Direct Yellow 29 and Mordant Blue 9. Results revealed that the fabric modified with acid mixture of 30 % acetic acid and 20 % tannic acid improved the colorfastness of the dyed fabric after 7 days exposure on simulated sunlight and washing with hot soap solution. Also, the acid modification could improve the dyed fabrics’ colorfastness properties to acids and alkalis. Optimum dyeing condition was observed at 1.5, 2.0, and 2.0 % dyes for Reactive Orange 14, Direct Yellow 29 and Mordant Blue 9 respectively. The optimum dyeing time was observed 50, 60, and 50 min; and temperature was 90, 100 and 80 °C respectively. Modification of silk fabrics with acids improves the dyeability and colorfastness of Rajshahi silk fabrics. However, the acid modification could reduce the loss in tenacity of silk fabric upon exposure to sunlight.  相似文献

The flame resistant finishing of silk fabric is still a challenge because most of the available treatment methods usually result in insufficient laundering durability. In this paper, a vinyl phosphorus-based monomer diethyl-2-(methacryloyloxyethyl) phosphate (DEMEP) was applied onto silk fabrics by graft copolymerization technique using potassium persulfate as an initiator. FT-IR spectra and amino analysis showed the evidence of the reaction between DEMEP and silk. The silk fabrics treated with DEMEP have excellent self-extinguishing property when the DEMEP add-on is over 50 % wt of silk fabrics. The LOI of treated samples is at least 28 % when the weight gain is 10 %. After being subjected to 30 hand wash cycles, DEMEP treated silk fabric can still pass the vertical flammability test. Thermal gravimetric (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) were applied to explore the thermal decomposition of silk fabrics treated with DEMEP. The initial decomposition temperature of silk fabric treated with DEMEP was shifted to a lower temperature. And at the end of decomposition at 700 °C, the char residue of silk fabric treated with DEMEP was higher than that of the control sample.  相似文献

In this work, water-extraction of Vitis Vinifera L. (Black Grenache) leaves and analysis of aqueous extracts for anthocyanins were investigated. Vegetable leaves were cultivated in North of Tunisia at different dates. Anthocyanins were identified as main constituents in these natural dyeing materials using high performance liquid chromatography (HPCL). Dyeability of wool and its fastness properties using Vitis Vinifera L. leaves extract were also determined. Aqueous extract of Vitis Vinifera L. leaves has markedly yielded shades with good fastness properties. Thus, affordability is a point favorable for Vitis Vinifera L. leaves. Effects of dye bath pH and temperature on dyeability and fastness proprieties of wool fabrics by aqueous extract of Vitis Vinifera L. leaves were evaluated. Experimental results showed that fastness properties of dyed fabrics ranged from average to very good. Vitis Vinifera L. leaves extracts showed potential to dyeing wool fibers under highly acidic conditions (pH ≤2). The results obtained here revealed that natural dyes extracted from Vitis Vinifera L. leaves can be cost-effective for dyeing wool fabrics.  相似文献

The effects of alkali (aqueous NaOH and KOH solutions) pre-treatment on dye exhaustion, color values, color fastness, tensile and surface properties of lyocell yarns were investigated. Dye exhaustion and color yield of lyocell yarns increased by increasing alkali concentrations. The lyocell yarns showed weight loss due to the decrease in carboxyl groups during alkali pre-treatment. The tensile strengths of lyocell yarns decreased with the increase of alkali concentrations because of the decrement of yarn diameter by weight loss the open twist spirals, and the increased volume of lyocell yarns after alkali pre-treatment. The washing and perspiration fastness results of untreated lyocell yarns were better than alkali pre-treated lyocell yarns, while the light fastness results of untreated and alkali pre-treated samples were similar.  相似文献

Dyeing and color fastness properties of a reactive disperse dye containing an acetoxyethylsulphone group on PET, Nylon, silk and N/P fabrics were examined. The reactive disperse dye exhibited almost the same dyeing properties on PET fabric as a conventional disperse dye except the level of dye uptake. The most appropriate pH and dyeing temperature for the dyeing of Nylon fabric were 7 and 100°C respectively. The build-up on Nylon fabric was good and various color fastnesses were good to excellent due to the formation of the covalent bond. Application of the reactive disperse dye on silk fabric at pH 9 and 80°C yielded optimum color strength. The rate of dyeing on Nylon fabric was faster than that on PET fabric when both fabrics were dyed simultaneously in a dye bath, accordingly color strength of the dyed Nylon was higher. The reactive disperse dye can be applied for one-step and one-bath dyeing of N/P mixture fabric with good color fastness.  相似文献

Three series of mono and disazo disperse dyes were synthesized from 2-amino-4-(pyridin-3-yl) thiazole. The structure of the synthesized dyes was confirmed by elemental analysis, ultraviolet-visible, infrared, proton and carbon nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectroscopy. The dyeing parameters, perspiration, wash and light fastness of eighteen azo disperse dyes on polyester have been investigated. Application of these dyes on polyester fabric gave yellow to reddish hues for mono azo derivatives and reddish to dark brown hues for disazo derivatives with fair to moderate light fastness and moderate to good wash and perspiration fastness grade. In addition, the synthesized dyes were screened for their antimicrobial activities against some gram positive, gram negative bacteria and fungi. Some of the prepared dyes gave excellent results against most of the tested organisms.  相似文献

This study was performed in order to evaluate subjective color sensation and preference for yellowish and reddish natural dye fabrics and to provide meaningful objective colorimetric properties which can quantify the sensation and preference focused on intergenerational differences. Among lots of natural dye silk fabrics, four differently dyed fabrics for each hue were used as specimens by cluster analysis. College students as younger generation and high school teachers as middle-aged evaluated them subjectively in terms of eight aspects color sensation such as clearness, lightness, depth, warmth, strength, brightness, hardness, and fragrance. Intergenerational differences appeared more frequently as for the lightest and the most saturated yellowish fabrics dyed with amur cork than any other fabrics. All of sensation and preference were significantly explained by some colorimetric properties for each generation. Color lightness, L* was the only positive predictor for color preference of younger generation’s preference whereas color saturation, C* illustrated negatively for that of middle-aged.  相似文献

Natural dye extracts were obtained by extraction from Punica granatum L. using water as an extractant at 90 °C for 90 min with various liquor ratios (solid Punica granatum L.(wt.): solvent water(wt.); 1:100–1:5). Dyeing was carried out using a 1:50 dyeing bath ratio at 80 °C for 60 min by exhaustion method. This study focused on the effect of liquor ratio on dyeing properties and deodorizing/antibacterial performance of various fabrics (cotton, silk and wool) dyed with Punica granatum L. extract without mordants. The optimum liquor ratio was found to be 1:10. By IR, UV-visible spectroscopies and HPLC analysis, the main component in Punica granatum L. extract and the yellow colorant component were found to be ellagic acid. By GC/MS analysis, the major volatile components of pristine Punica granatum L. powder were found to be acetic acid (area: 25.84 %), ethanol (area: 17.97 %), acetoin (area: 13.11 %), acetaldehyde (area: 8.96 %), isobutanal (area: 4.90 %). All dyed fabrics (cotton, silk and wool fabrics) displayed outstanding deodorizing performance (99 %) against ammonia gas and excellent antibacterial performance (bacteriostatic reduction rate: 99.9 %) against Staphylococcu aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae.  相似文献

The coloration of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) fiber with 18 carbocyclic monoazo disperse dyes bearing a hydrolyzable phthalimide ring fused to the aromatic ring of their diazo components has been investigated. The phthalimidyl nitrogen atom was substituted with either a n-butyl, sec-butyl, or isopropyl group, while the adjoining phenyl ring bore a substitution pattern typical of commercial colorants. There was a broad correlation between percentage dye exhaustion onto PLA and that onto polyester (PET) fiber, although significant differences in certain instances were apparent with no clear trends regarding dye structure. Attempts to explain the observed percentage exhaustion values by mapping them to calculated partition coefficient or solubility parameter values were unsuccessful. Wash fastness was relatively good compared to that of some conventional disperse dyes applied to PLA. As was found to be the case with PET, the wash fastness of dyes on PLA tended to be highest when their diazo ring was substituted with electron acceptors.  相似文献

L-cysteine (Cys) and silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were successfully linked onto the cotton fabric surfaces. The Cys molecules were covalently linked to the cotton fibers via esterification with the cellulose hydroxyl groups, and the Ag NPs tightly adhered to the fiber surface via coordination bonds with the Cys thiol groups. As a result, the Ag NPs coating on the cotton fabric showed an excellent antibacterial function with an outstanding laundering durability. The bacterial reduction rates (BR) efficiency reached 100 % for Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). After 50 consecutive laundering cycles, the bacterial reduction rates (BR) against E. coli and S. aureus were maintained over 97 %. It has potential applications in a wide variety of fields such as sportswear, socks, and medical textile.  相似文献

The surface of silk is modified by a cationic reagent, N-(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl) trimethylammonium chloride(CHTAC) in order to enable the fibre to be dyed with superfine pigments by an exhaust process. The effects of cationization pretreatment conditions such as the amount of cationic reagent, pH, treatment temperature and time on color yield are discussed in detail. The result shows that the condition suitable for modification treatment is that the concentrationc of cationic reagent is 10 g/l, pH 8, liquor to goods ratio of 100:1 and 60°C for 30 min. The white index decreases with the increase of alkali of cationic treatment. The crock fastness and wash fastness of silk dyed by pigment exhaust dyeing achieve 3–4 and 4 scale, respectively. The treated silk fabrics still retain a soft handle because the bending rigidity B and hysteresis 2HB increase slightly after cationization pretreatment and dyeing procedure. It has been demonstrated that properties of surface modified silk dyed with superfine pigment by exhaust process are acceptable.  相似文献
