5,10,15,and 20 year old Larix gmelini and Betula platyphylla were used aspulping raw material in the research.The examination of young L.gmelini and B.Platyphyllafibrous structures showed that the fiber length and ratio of length to width of 5 years old L.gmelini noticeably differed from that of mature L.gmelini.but that of 5 year old B.platyphyllawere nearby equal to that of mature B.platyphylla.The research results indicated that 15 yearsold B.platyphylla and 20 year old L.gmelini were best suited to pulping among the eight exper-imental raw materials;10 years old B.platyphylla and 15 year old L.gmelini were optimal tothe ratio of beating degree increment and corresponding beating time.The pulp characteristics of15 year old B.platyphylla and 20 year old L.gmelini were similar to those of mature wood,andit was feasible to consider 15 years to B.platyphylla and 20 years to L.gmelini as their rotationperiod;10 years and 15 years as their thinning cycles for the papermaking forest base.  相似文献

Based on the investigation data about the species diversity in Daxing'an Mountains, the difference of species diversity indexes betweenLarix gmelini forest andLarix gmelini-Betula platyphylla forest was analyzed by the Simpson index (D), Shannon-Wiener index (H), Pielou index (J sw &J si), Alatalo index (E a) and Species richness index (S). The result showed that the species diversity index ofLarix gmelini-Betula platyphylla forest was much higher than that ofLarix gmelini forest in this region. AndLarix gmelini-Betula platyphylla forest was beneficial to maintain the species diversity in Daxing'an Mountains region. For the first time in this paper the forests ofBetula platyphylla in Daxing’an Mountains are subdivided by phytosociological methods. 以2011—2012年大兴安岭的44块固定样地调查数据为基础,以常用的林分空间结构参数(角尺度、大小比、混交度、林分空间结构指数和林分空间结构距离)为切入点,对大兴安岭主要森林类型的林分空间结构特征及最优树种组成进行研究。结果表明:天然落叶松林、针叶混交林以及针阔混交林的林木水平分布格局均表现为随机分布,而白桦林则为明显的聚集分布;4种林型中树木的生长整体处于中庸状态,落叶松处于明显优势地位,其他伴生树种则处于不同程度受压状态;落叶松混交程度随着其优势程度的增加而降低,其他伴生树种则具有较高的混交度,整体上天然落叶松林、白桦林的树种空间隔离程度较低,而针叶混交林、针阔混交林的林分平均混交度相对较高;大兴安岭4种主要森林类型林分空间结构的优劣表现为针阔混交林针叶混交林天然落叶松林天然白桦林;天然落叶松林最优的树种组成为8落,其次为7落。  相似文献

We determined the survival rate of tree families produced by the intra- and interspecific crossing of larch species damaged by browsing of vole (Clethrionomys rufocanus bedfordiae Thomas) and the contents of ether extracts (EE) in their bark. The average survival ofLarix gmelini var.japonica Pilg. (L. gmeliniL. gmelini (G×G) was highest, followed by the hybridL. gmelini×L. leptolepis Gordon (G×L). The families of the hybrid G×L, which is considered suitable for silviculture in Hokkaido, Japan, showed significant differences in survival rates, suggesting that it is possible to produce improved varieties of the hybrid which are more resistant to vole browsing. The EE contents of the bark were under strong hereditary control, and the rank of the EE content among the various families hardly fluctuated between the location of the test fields. The correlation coefficient between the survival rates and the EE contents was highly significant (r=0.89,n=24,p<0.01), indicating that the EE content in the bark may be used as a possible index of resistance or susceptibility to vole browsing in larch plantations. We examined foliar endophyte frequencies in two native (Betula pendula and Betula pubescens) and three exotic (Betula ermanii, Betula platyphylla and Betula resinifera) birch species and their hybrids in Punkaharju, Finland. The most frequently isolated endophytic fungi in the experimental trees were Fusicladium betulae and Gnomonia setacea making up 80–90% of all endophyte infections. Total endophyte infection levels varied from 0.5 colony forming units (CFU)/cm2 in B. platyphylla to 8.6 CFU/cm2 in B. pubescens that had highest total infection levels of both examined endophyte species. The resistance of hybrids was generally very close to the more resistant parent (the only exception being Fusicladium in B. platyphylla × B. pendula hybrid) supporting the hypothesis that the resistance of birch hybrids to these fungi is genetically based and caused by dominant inheritance of resistance traits.  相似文献

Effects of different forest floor vegetation types in secondary forest and of conversion to plantation on the quality and quantity of ectomycorrhizas are mostly unknown.Betula platyphylla var.japonica seedlings were used for bioassays of ectomycorrhizal fungal inoculum using soils from four 50-year-oldB. platyphylla var.japonica forests that had different types of forest floor vegetation: two with shrub types, one with aSasa type, and one with a grass type. Seedlings were also grown in soil from a nearby monospecific plantation ofChamaecyparis obtusa. Ectomycorrhizas formed 13 to 26% of root length of seedlings grown in soil from the five different sites. The maximum percentage of ectomycorrhizal formation was obtained from the grass-type forest. The dominant type of ectomycorrhiza in the two shrub-type forest soils was the same as that in theSasa-type forest soil. The dominant types of ectomycorrhizas in the grass-type forest soil and in theC. obtusa plantation soil were different from that in the two shrub-type forest soils and in theSasa-type forest soil. The results of this investigation suggest that the type of forest floor vegetation, accompanied with changes in thickness of the A0 horizon, might affect the ectomycorrhizal fungi in the soils ofB. platyphylla var.japonica forests. Establishment of artificial plantations ofC. obtusa might change the ectomycorrhizal fungi that could associate withB. platyphylla var.japonica seedlings in soil.  相似文献

Summary Physical and mechanical properties of 18 year oldCupressus lusitanica, an exotic to India have been reported. The timber was found to be quite knotty and also possessing compression wood. From the data it appears that the timber is weak. in strength properties compared to the standard Indian species,Tectona grandis (teak) andCedrus deodara (deodar) and it can only be used for light packing cases and rural housing.Authors are thankful to Dr. V. We investigated the effect of fire disturbance on short-term soil respiration in birch (Betula platyphylla Suk.) and larch (Larix gmelinii Rupr.) forests in Greater Xing’an range, northeastern China for further understanding of its effect on the carbon cycle in ecosystems. Our study show that post-fire soil respiration rates in B. platyphylla and L. gmelinii forests were reduced by 14%and 10%, respectively. In contrast, the soil heterotrophic respiration rates in the two types of forest were similar in post-fire and control plots. After fire, the contribution of root respiration to total soil respiration was dramatically reduced. Variation in soil respiration rates was explained by soil moisture (W) and soil tem-perature (T) at a depth of 5 cm. Exponential regression fitted T and W models explained Rs rates in B. platyphylla control and post-fire plots (83.1% and 86.2%) and L. gmelinii control and post-fire plots (83.7%and 88.7%). To examine the effects of frequent fires on species composition of the boreal forest in northern Mongolia, we investigated regeneration patterns, including reproductive pathways, post-fire seed sources, and site preferences, of four common tree species (Betula platyphylla, Larix sibirica, Picea obovata, and Pinus sibirica). Regeneration patterns differed among B. platyphylla, L. sibirica, and the two evergreen conifers. B. platyphylla regenerated vigorously only after fire irrespective of the presence/absence of nearby seed sources, whereas post-fire regeneration of L. sibirica was more dependent on the presence of nearby seed sources. These two species did not regenerate in mature stands where mature trees of these species were growing. In contrast, no post-fire recruitment of P. obovata and P. sibirica was observed, whereas continuous recruitment of these species was observed in mature stands. The frequent fires that accompany illegal logging may result in larger burned areas and increase the risk of local extinctions of seed sources. The enlargement of burned areas is likely to favor post-fire recruitment of B. platyphylla. Seed dispersal limitation seems to have less effect on B. platyphylla than on the other species because of the wider seed dispersal range and vegetative reproduction capability of this species. Consequently, fires in the northern Mongolian boreal forest likely promote the relative dominance of B. platyphylla and threaten the existence of the evergreen conifers.  相似文献

Inoculation experiment was made for 15 poplar species to determine their resistance toMarssonina brunnea by the agar leaf-dise technique and the water-culture shoots technique. The results show thatPopulus simonii andP nigra var.thevestina are very suseeptible to the disease:P. davidiana andP. koreana are slightly resistant to the disease:P. ussurrensis has high resistance, and the others remain moderate resistance. Experiments are also made for healthy leaves to analysis the inorganic element content and water content. 白桦雄花发育周期较长,从出现雄花序至花粉成熟经历近一年,其发育早期和中期是决定雄配子体发育的重要时期。采用cDNA-AFLP方法对白桦早期和中期发育雄花序进行了差异表达谱分析,共得到了62个TDFs,其中30个TDFs与Genbank中的基因具有较高的同源性,其它32个是未知序列。GO分析结果显示,这些已知基因主要参与代谢过程、细胞过程、刺激应答、生殖、信号传导和生物调控等生物学过程,其分子功能主要涉及催化活性、结合分子功能、酶调节活性和转运活性等;发现了参与生殖和雄花发育的两个重要TDFs,Bplbs658和Bplbs199。另外,选择11个TDFs进行不同组织的qRT-PCR转录表达分析,结果表明这些基因不仅参与花发育,也参与营养组织的发育,但各自具有不同的组织表达特征。  相似文献

Ten multipurpose tree species were planted both in monoculture and intercropped withArachis hypogea (groundnut) in a randomized complete block with three replications. The vigrou, biomass, nutrient content, and coppicing percentage of the trees were evaluated. Intercropping with groundnuts during the establishment phase did not affect subsequent growth and development of the species.Acacia mangium, Acacia auriculiformis, Cassia siamea, Calliandra calothyrsus andParaserianthes falcataria established well, when compared toGliricidia sepium, Leucaena leucocephala, Dialum guineense, Dubocia macrocarpa andMilicia excelsa. A. mangium, A. auriculiformis, C. calothyrsus, C. siamea andP. falcataria produced the highest leaf (4 to 20 t ha–1) and wood (12 to 37 t ha–1) biomass yield (primary growth) at one to three years after planting. Coppicing percentage ofA. mangium A. auriculiformis andP. falcataria were relatively low (35 to 50%).C. calothyrsus andC. siamea showed the highest coppicing percentage (95 to 100%) and produced the greatest coppice biomass (9 to 13 t ha–1). Total nitrogen and organic matter percentage of soils from under the stands of these two species were also significantly higher than that of the rest. The two species may thus be considered for use in agroforestry technologies for soil improvement on acid soils, which are typical of the moist tropics.  相似文献

Tricholoma matsutake/Pinus densiflora mycorrhizas andP. densiflora roots were collected from beneath matureT. matsutake fruit-bodies in a Shiro in central Japan and investigated for evidence of endophytic infection.Tricholoma matsutake infection was determined microscopically on cleared, bleached and stained mycorrhizas by the presence of both a thin, discontinuous mantle and highly branched, sparingly septate Hartig net mycelium within the root cortex. Endophytic infection of Matsutake mycorrhizas was characterized by intracortical sclerotia, simple septate mycelium within the cortex and vascular cylinder and intracellular spore masses within the root cortex. The complex of insect inhabitants of old larval galleries of Saperda populnea (L.) (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) was studied during the period 2000–2003 in 18 localities in Bulgaria. As a result, 32 insect species were reared from old S. populnea galls: Metopoplax origani (Kolenati) (Heteroptera: Lygaeidae), Malachius sp. (Diptera: Sarcophagidae) and Heringia vitripennis (Meigen) (Diptera: Syrphidae). Amongst them, 27 species were established as new inhabitants of old S. populnea galls. Five species (C. schmidti, N. fallax, M. georgievi, P. aeneus and J. luteipes) were recorded for the first time in Bulgaria. The dwellers of old S. populnea galls belong to the following ecological groups: insects using galls as a place to develop (3 species); insects nidificating in empty galls (10 species); insects using old galls as a pupating place (1 species); insects using empty galls as overwintering shelters (3 species); predators and parasites of primary dwellers of empty galls (13 species); or insects with uncertain ecological status (2 species).  相似文献

A hedgerow intercropping study was conducted for 7 years in West Sumatra, Indonesia on an acid and highly Al-saturated soil to determine growth and yield responses of tree hedgerows and upland rice and cowpea intercrops. Three tree species,Paraserianthes falcataria, Calliandra calothyrsus, andGliricidia sepium and a no-tree control were planted at three lime rates with low annual fertilizer inputs of 20 kg P and 50 kg K ha–1.Paraserianthes andCalliandra grew vigorously, whileGliricidia grew poorly and was replaced after four years withFlemingia macrophylla. After four years,Paraserianthes yields declined due to tree mortality, probably due to intensive pruning.Calliandra andFlemingia were well adapted to intensive pruning (4 to 6 times per year). Gliricidia growth was especially limited by low soil Ca availability and high soil acid saturation.Calliandra andFlemingia yields increased with liming only in the last several years of the study whileParaserianthes did not respond to lime. The species can be tentatively ranked in response to lime as:Gliricidia > Calliandra > Flemingia > Paraserianthes.  相似文献

InTenebrio andTenebrionides this pathogen can not develop. We have found that kraft pulp handsheets, made from a number of hybrid poplar (Populus trichocarpa × Populus deltoides) clones, contain unusual surface deformations caused by vessel element mineral blockages. The blockages were composed mainly of calcium salt deposits that survived chemical pulping and beating processes. Our findings confirm that a natural process of accumulation of calcium salts occurs in certain poplar species. In this article, we describe the implications for the multi-use implementation of these poplars in short-rotation, intensive-culture plantations.  相似文献
