This study aimed to evaluate the effect of temperature and dietary starch level on growth performance, nutrient utilisation, whole-body composition and activity of selected hepatic intermediary metabolism enzymes in European sea bass juveniles. An experimental diet was formulated to contain 46% crude protein, 12% crude lipids and 30% pregelatinized starch (diet 30GS); two other diets were formulated to include the same levels of all ingredients as diet 30GS except for the pregelatinized starch, which was included at 20% (diet 20GS) or 10% (diet 10GS). Diets were assigned to triplicate groups of 25 fish (initial weight: 15 g) at two water temperatures (18 and 25 °C) for 10 weeks. Group receiving diet 30GS was fed to apparent satiation and groups fed diets 20GS and 10GS were pair-fed according to group fed diet 30GS, so that each group ate the same amount of all nutrients except for carbohydrates. At the end of the trial, growth rate, feed efficiency and protein efficiency ratio were higher at 25 than at 18 °C. Dietary starch level did not affect growth or N utilisation. Feed efficiency was inversely related to dietary starch level. Whole-body lipids and energy content were higher at 25 °C and increased with dietary starch levels. Whole-body protein and ash content were also higher at 25 °C but were not affected by dietary starch level. Liver glycogen, HSI and VI increased with dietary starch level. ADC of starch was higher at 25 °C and within each temperature decreased with increasing dietary starch levels. ADC of protein was neither affected by temperature nor dietary starch levels. Data on enzyme activities showed that hexokinase (HK) but not glucokinase (GK) was affected by temperature. Dietary starch level affected the activities of glucokinase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) but not of the others enzymes tested (HK, PK, FBPase and GDH).  相似文献

Effect of varying dietary lysine levels on growth, feed conversion, nutrient retention, lysine retention efficiency and haematological indices of Heteropneustes fossilis fry (2.97 ± 0.11 cm; 4.78 ± 0.31 g) was studied by conducting a 12‐week feeding trial. Isonitrogenous (450 g kg?1 CP) and isocaloric (17.97 kJ g?1 GE) amino acid test diets with graded concentrations of l ‐lysine (18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28 g kg?1 dry diet) were fed to triplicate groups of fish to apparent satiation twice daily at 17 and 17:30 h. Maximum thermal growth coefficient (TGC, 0.82), best feed conversion ratio (FCR, 1.28) highest protein retention efficiency (PRE, 36%), energy retention efficiency (ERE, 79%) and lysine retention efficiency (LRE, 75%) were noted at 24 g kg?1 lysine of dry diet. Body protein was also found to be in line with growth data and peaked at 24 g kg?1 lysine of dry diet. Similarly, superior somatic and haematological indices were exhibited by the groups fed dietary lysine at 24 g kg?1 of the dry diet. However, exponential analysis of dietary lysine intake against TGC, lysine retention and protein retention indicated that inclusion of dietary lysine in the range of 13.24–14.14 g kg?1 dry diet, corresponding to 29.42–31.42 g kg?1 dietary protein, is essential for faster growth of this fish.  相似文献

An 8-week feeding trial was conducted in a flow-through system (1–1.5 L min−1) at 27°C to determine dietary protein requirement for Channa punctatus fingerlings (4.58 ± 0.29 g) by feeding six isocaloric diets (18.39 kJ g−1, gross energy). Diets containing graded levels of protein (300, 350, 400, 450, 500 and 550 g kg−1) were fed to triplicate groups of fish to apparent satiation at 09:00 and 16:00 h. Maximum absolute weight gain (AWG; 8.11 g fish−1), specific growth rate (SGR; 1.82%) and best feed conversion ratio (FCR; 1.48) were recorded in fish fed diet containing 450 g kg−1 protein, whereas protein efficiency ratio (PER; 1.52), protein retention efficiency (PRE; 25%), energy retention efficiency (ERE; 78%) and RNA/DNA ratio (3.01) were maximum for the group fed dietary protein at 400 g kg−1. Second-degree polynomial regression analysis of AWG, SGR and FCR data against varying levels of dietary protein yielded optimum dietary protein requirement of fingerling between 462.24 and 476.72 g kg−1, whereas the regression analysis of PER, PRE, ERE and RNA/DNA ratio data showed a lower protein requirement of 438.28–444.43 g kg−1 of the diet. Considering the PER, PRE, ERE and RNA/DNA ratio as more reliable indicators, this protein requirement is recommended for developing quality protein commercial feeds for C. punctatus fingerlings.  相似文献

A study was conducted to evaluate the effect of dietary supplementation of lysine and/or methionine on growth performance, nitrogen retention and excretion in pacu juveniles reared in cages. Five diets were prepared; four diets based on plant ingredients containing 23% digestible protein (DP), basal: Lys- and Met-deficient, 23L: basal supplemented with lysine only, 23M: basal supplemented with methionine only, and 23LM: basal supplemented with both amino acids and a protein-bound AAs diet based on fish and soybean meal, containing 30% DP. Survival, specific growth rate, protein efficiency rate and feeding cost were not influenced by the dietary treatments (P > 0.05). Fish fed basal diet showed the lowest mean of N retention. Fish fed 30DP diet showed the best results of weight gain (WG) and apparent food conversion rate (FCR) among the dietary treatments. On the other hand, WG in the 23LM group and FCR in the 23LM and 23M groups were not significantly different from the group fed 30DP diet, and showed the highest mean of N retention. There was higher N excretion (P < 0.05) when the fish were fed 30DP and 23L diets than the other dietary treatments. Fish fed plant protein-based diets containing 23% DP supplemented with both amino acids or methionine alone showed satisfactory growth and N retention results when compared with fish fed 30DP diet, with the advantage of lower N emissions into water. The results also evidence the pacu's great potential to be reared in cages.  相似文献

To determine dietary lysine requirement of dusky kob, Argyrosomus japonicus, six isonitrogenous and isoenergetic diets (431 g/kg crude protein, 141 g/kg lipid and 20 kJ/kg) were formulated with graded levels of crystalline L‐lysine (18–42 g/kg of the dry diet). The protein source in the basal diet comprised fishmeal and soya, where a combination of L‐aspartic and L‐glutamic acids was maintained at a ratio of 1:1, and all diets were supplemented with a mixture of crystalline essential amino acids to simulate the amino acid profile in dusky kob. Dietary treatments were randomly assigned to triplicate groups of 12 fish (4.5 ± 0.2 g, mean weight; 66.5 ± 1.1 mm, total length ± SD), which were fed to apparent satiation three times daily for 12 weeks. The fish fed dietary L‐lysine at 21, 29 and 33 g/kg dry diet showed the highest specific growth rates (SGR) and the lowest feed conversion ratio. For most amino acids, retention in the body of the fish increased with an increase in dietary lysine from 18 to 21 g/kg, and it reached a maximum somewhere between 21 and 33 g/kg, where after amino acid retention decreased with increasing dietary lysine. Based on SGR and using segmented broken‐line analysis, the dietary L‐lysine requirement of juvenile dusky kob was estimated at 31.7 ± 1.6 g/kg dry diet corresponding to 73.5 g lysine per kg protein.  相似文献

Effects of varying dietary digestible protein (DP) and digestible energy (DE) on protein retention efficiency (PRE), weight gain, protein deposition and carcass composition for silver perch (Bidyanus bidyanus, Mitchell) were studied. Using digestibility data for silver perch, we formulated three series of diets with different DE contents (13, 15 or 17 MJ DE kg?1). For each series, a ‘summit’ diet containing an excess of protein for silver perch (based on previous research) and a ‘diluent’ diet with only 10–13% DP were formulated. By blending the summit and diluent diets together in different ratios, five diets with different DP contents were produced for each DE series. A commercial diet was also included to give 16 experimental diets in total. Eight juvenile fish (mean initial weight 1.2 g) were stocked into each of 64 × 70‐L acrylic aquaria and then each of the 16 diets was randomly allocated to four replicate aquaria. Tanks were supplied with partially recirculated water (75%) at 25–27°C. Fish were fed restrictively, twice per day, based initially on 3.5% body weight day?1 with 40% of the ration given at 08:30 hours and 60% given at 15:00 hours for 59 days. Quadratic functions were fitted to each energy series to describe the relationship between DP content of diets and PRE (the asymptote of these functions were used to predict maximum PRE). For low DE (13 MJ kg?1), mid‐DE (15 MJ kg?1) and high DE (17 MJ kg?1), the dietary DP contents to give maximum PRE were 24.7%, 26.1% and 30.1% respectively. Carcass fat decreased with increasing DP and increasing DP:DE ratio. Varying the dietary protein and DE also influenced other indices of fish performance. ‘Optimum’ dietary protein therefore depends on several factors. For fish fed, restrictively, the protein content needed to maximize PRE is lower than the content needed to maximize weight gain or minimize carcass fat. For fish fed to satiation, the lowest protein content for maximum weight gain is lower than for fish fed restrictively.  相似文献

An 8‐week feeding test was conducted to quantify the dietary arginine requirement of juvenile largemouth bass (LMB) (25 ± 0.4 g). Six isonitrogenous and isolipidic (459 g crude protein and 122 g crude lipid kg?1 dry diet) diets were formulated to contain graded levels of arginine (17.0–30.1 g kg?1 dry diet). Zein‐coated crystalline amino acid mixtures were supplemented to simulate, except for arginine, the amino acid profile of the muscle protein of LMB. Each diet was randomly assigned to quadruplicate tanks of 35 fish reared in a flow‐through system. Fish were fed to apparent satiation twice daily. Weight gain (WG) was significantly affected by dietary arginine level. Nitrogen retention was significantly lower in fish fed D17.0. Arginine retention significantly decreased with dietary arginine increased. Threonine, leucine and lysine concentrations in whole body were significantly affected by dietary arginine level. Serum lysozyme activity, serum protein and respiratory burst of head kidney leucocytes were significantly affected, while complement activity (CH50) showed no difference among treatments. Based on broken‐line analysis for WG against dietary digestible arginine level, the arginine requirement of LMB was 19.1 g kg?1 of dry diet (41.6 g kg?1 of crude protein).  相似文献

Two trials were conducted to compare L‐lysine HCl and L‐lysine sulphate regarding its availability to Penaeus monodon, and further evaluate the optimum dietary lysine requirement. In experiment 1, five experimental diets were formulated (D1, D2, D3, D4 and D5), a basal diet (D1), aimed at a low‐lysine concentration (2.22% dry matter), with lysine concentration of the other four diets increasing in two 0.25% L‐lysine intervals from either L‐lysine HCl (D2 and D3) or L‐lysine sulphate (D4 and D5). Each diet was fed at a restricted rate to three groups of 40 shrimp for 74 days. The highest values of growth performance (weight gain, WG; specific growth rate, SGR) and survival were observed with shrimp fed the L‐lysine HCl diet. Feed efficiency (FE) of shrimp fed D2 was significantly higher than that of shrimp fed D1 and D5 (P < 0.05), but without significant difference with shrimp fed D3 and D4 (P > 0.05). In experiment 2, six diets (d1, d2, d3, d4, d5 and d6) were formulated with six graded levels of lysine (2.21%, 2.41%, 2.59%, 2.87%, 3.11% and 3.29% of diet). Each diet was randomly assigned to triplicate groups of 40 shrimp for 74 days. WG, SGR and survival increased increasing levels of lysine up to 2.41% of diet and reached an apparent plateau. Broken‐line model analysis on WG and SGR indicated that the optimum dietary lysine level for optimal growth of shrimp was 2.37% of diet, corresponding to 5.78% of dietary protein. In conclusion, results of this trial suggest that L‐lysine HCl is superior to L‐lysine sulphate when fed to Penaeus monodon and optimal growth can be obtained at lysine levels corresponding to 2.37% of diet, or 5.78% of dietary protein in this specie.  相似文献

An 8‐week feeding trial was conducted in flow through system to examine the effects of dietary supplementation of microbial phytase on growth, nutrient utilization, haemato‐biochemical status and body compositions in common carp, Cyprinus carpio (L.) fingerlings (average weight 6.66 ± 0.08 g). The aim of experiment was also to determine whether dicalcium phosphates (DCP), tracemineral premix and lysine and methionine supplemental levels in carp diet could be reduced if microbial phytase was supplemented. Control diet (diet 1) supplemented with DCP, tracemineral premix and lysine and methionine without microbial phytase supplementation. Four experimental diets were formulated with reduction of either dietary DCP or trace minerals or lysine and methionine or all four supplementation levels by 100% of control diet without microbial phytase supplementation (diet 2, 3, 4 and 5 respectively). Another two experimental diets were formulated with reduction of all dietary DCP, trace minerals, lysine and methionine supplementation levels by 0 and 100% of control diet with dietary microbial phytase supplementation at 500 FTU kg−1 diet (diet 6 and 7 respectively). After acclimation of fish for 2 weeks, 20 fish were randomly stocked into triplicate tanks for each of seven treatments (T0, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 and T6 for diet 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 respectively) and fed with respective diet to apparent satiation. Results indicated that phytase was effective in releasing most of the phytate bound proteins, amino acids and minerals for optimum utilization and performance. Results also suggested that DCP, trace minerals and lysine and methionine supplementation level could be replaced by microbial phytase supplementation at 500 FTU kg−1 in soybean‐based common carp diets without altering the optimum performance of fish. Optimum replacement level of dietary DCP, trace minerals and lysine and methionine with phytase supplementation at 500 FTU kg−1 soybean‐based carp diet needs to be standardized in further investigations.  相似文献

Abstract. Semipurified diets containing either 25% or 30% crude protein (CP) from soy isolate (soy) or 30% CP from casein and gelatin (casein) were supplemented with either of two levels of L-lysine HCI (0 or 0·5% of diet) in a 3 × 2 factorial arrangement and fed to fingerling channel catfish, Ictalurus punctatus (Rafinesque), in aquaria for 8 weeks. Factorial analysis of variance indicated a significant ( P < 0·001) positive effect of lysine on weight gain, protein conversion efficiency (PCE) and feed efficiency. Fish fed the soy diet containing 25% CP showed increased weight gain of 24% with lysine supplementation while fish fed soy and casein diets containing 30% CP showed increases of 11 % and 3%, respectively. However, supplementing the 25% CP soy diet with 0–5% L-lysine HCI did not enhance growth performance to the level offish fed the unsupplemented 30% CP soy diet. Significant effects of dietary protein levels and sources on weight gain, PCE, feed efficiency, haematocrit, hepatosomatic index (HSI; % liver weight), intraperitoneal fat (IPF) ratio, dry matter of fillet and whole-body, as well as lipid and protein content of whole-body tissue, were also observed. Fish fed the casein diet containing 30% CP had the greatest weight gain, PCE, feed efficiency, haematocrit and whole-body protein values and lowest IPF ratio and whole-body lipid values compared with those of fish fed the soy diets. Supplemental lysine did not affect body condition indices or proximate composition of whole-body and fillet tissues of fish fed the different protein sources. Therefore, based on this study, dietary protein levels and sources significantly influenced performance characteristics of channel catfish and supplemental lysine was most beneficial at a reduced CP level.  相似文献

An 8-week feeding trial was conducted in flow through system to examine the effects of dietary supplementation of lysine and methionine on growth, nutrient utilization, haemato-biochemical status and carcass compositions in Indian major carp, rohu, Labeo rohita fingerlings (average weight 6.32 ± 0.06 g). Four experimental soy protein-based diets D 0 (without lysine or methionine supplementation), D 1 (lysine supplementation alone), D 2 (methionine supplementation alone) and D3 (both lysine and methionine supplementation) were fed to triplicate groups. l -Lysine and dl -methionine were added to the diets containing 550 g kg−1 soybean meals at 4 and 7 g kg−1 of dry diet respectively. Significant higher weight gain, specific growth rate (SGR), protein efficiency ratio (PER), dry matter retention, nitrogen retention, total ash retention, whole carcass protein, haemoglobin concentration, haematocrit value, total erythrocytic count, total leucocytic count, plasma glucose and plasma total protein and lower FCR, per cent lipid retention and whole body moisture content were observed in fish fed soya protein-based diet supplemented with both lysine and methionine than that of fish of other dietary groups at the end of 8 weeks feeding trial. Although fish fed diet supplemented with either methionine or lysine did not show any significant differences of growth performances, feed utilization, carcass composition and haemato-biochemical status, fish of both of these dietary groups showed significantly better growth performances, feed utilization, carcass composition and haemato-biochemical status than that of fish fed diet without lysine and methionine supplementation.  相似文献

Apparent digestibility coefficients (ADCs) of macro- and micronutrients and energy of two diets were measured with common carp Cyprinus carpio reared at two water temperatures (18 and 25 °C). Two diets containing either soy protein concentrate (SPC) or Norwegian herring meal (FM) as a major protein source were formulated. Dicalcium phosphate was incorporated at a level of 4 % of the former diet. Duplicate groups of 20 fish (body weight: 55 g) were fed by hand twice a day to apparent satiety. After a 7-day conditioning period, faecal collection was made over 10 days using an automatic faeces collector. ADC of dry matter was not different (P > 0.05) between fish fed the two diets at 18 °C, but at 25 °C, we observed a higher ADC value in fish fed the FM diet than in those fed the SPC diet. ADC of protein was higher in fish fed the SPC diet than in the FM groups at either temperature. ADC of lipids was not different between the two groups at 25 °C but was found to be higher in fish fed the SPC diet than in the FM group at 18 °C. ADCs of energy and ash of the two fish groups remained constant at both water temperatures. Availability of phosphorus was significantly higher (P < 0.05) from fish meal based diets than from SPC based diets at both temperatures. A more striking effect of dietary protein source was found in the availability of calcium, which was lower in carp fed SCP based diets.  相似文献

This study was conducted to evaluate and refine the dietary lysine requirement of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) smolts using both the dose–response technique to determine the minimum dietary requirement and different ration levels to determine the maintenance lysine requirement and the efficiency of lysine utilization for growth. Diets containing 1.97–3.16% lysine (presented in protein‐bound form of lysine) were fed to satiation or at 25–75% ration levels to smolts during the last week in fresh water and the following 9 weeks in seawater. Based on the exponential lysine gain response to increasing dietary lysine concentrations, the minimum lysine requirement was found to be 2.67% of diet (dry matter basis; protein‐bound form or 3.05% free form). The smolts fed the unsupplemented diet maximally utilized the digestible lysine intake for growth. The efficiency of digestible lysine utilization for growth was 0.85 in the diet containing 2.88% lysine and the maintenance requirement was 21.7 mg digestible lysine kg?0.7 day?1.  相似文献

An 8‐week feeding trial was conducted to determine dietary lysine requirement of juvenile Pseudobagrus ussuriensis (initial body weight: 0.60 g). Six isonitrogenous (crude protein, 400 g/kg) and isolipidic (crude lipid, 50 g/kg) diets were formulated to contain graded levels of dietary lysine (12.8, 19.9, 26.5, 34.0, 40.8 and 44.1 g/kg dry diets, respectively). The results indicated that weight gain, specific growth rate, productive protein value and protein efficiency ratio increased, while feed conversion ratio decreased with increasing dietary lysine level up to 34.0 g/kg dry diet and then levelled off. Fish fed diet with 12.8 g/kg lysine had the lowest lysine content (58.6 g/kg dry matter) in muscle, while fish fed diet with 34.0 g/kg lysine had the highest value (61.6 g/kg dry matter; p < .05). Broken‐line analysis on the basis of weight gain showed that the optimal dietary lysine requirement for maximum growth of juvenile Pseudobagras ussuriensis is 33.5 g/kg dry diet (82.4 g/kg dietary protein). Quadratic regression analysis of protein efficiency ratio against dietary lysine levels indicated that the optimal dietary lysine requirement of juvenile Pseudobagras ussuriensis is 36.4 g/kg dry diet (89.5 g/kg dietary protein).  相似文献

A feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the dietary copper requirement of red drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) and compare the bioavailability of copper sulphate (CuSO4) and copper‐ethanolamine. A basal diet was formulated using semi‐purified ingredients and analysed to contain 3 mg Cu/kg. Both copper sources were supplemented to the basal diet at either 5, 10 or 20 mg Cu/kg of dry diet. No significant differences were observed in growth performance of fish fed the various diets. However, red drum fed all copper‐supplemented diets retained more copper in liver and whole‐body tissues compared to fish fed the basal diet. Within both inorganic and organic copper treatments, the highest tissue copper concentrations were observed in fish fed diets supplemented with 10 mg Cu/kg. No significant differences were detected in net copper retention regardless of the nature of the copper source; hence, the bioavailability of copper sulphate and copper‐ethanolamine complex was not different in the diets for juvenile red drum. Furthermore, the minimum copper requirement for growth performance of juvenile red drum appeared to be satisfied when fish were fed the basal diet containing 3 mg Cu/kg diet, and no detrimental effects were observed in red drum fed diets supplemented with 20 mg Cu/kg.  相似文献

Two feeding trials examined the replacement of fishmeal (FM) with poultry by‐product meal (PBM) in the diet of juvenile Sparus aurata. In Feeding trial I (100 days), three diets were formulated, where FM protein was replaced by 50% (PBM50) and 100% (PBM100) PBM, while in Feeding trial II (110 days), four diets were formulated using the same FM control diet, but FM was replaced at lower levels: 25% (PBM25), and 25% (PBM25 + ) and 50% (PBM50 + ) with the supplementation of lysine and methionine amino acids. PBM protein can successfully replace 50% of FM protein in the diet of Saurata without adverse effects on survival, feed intake, growth performance and feed utilization, given that the diet is balanced with lysine and methionine. The proximate composition of body and muscle was unaffected by the diet, but the total FM replacement resulted in reduced lipid and energy contents in fish. A fifty per cent FM replacement by PBM did not affect haematological parameters indicating a good fish health. Similarities in trypsin and chymotrypsin activities with FM‐fed fish suggest a high digestibility of PBM. High dietary levels of PBM reduced the liver gene expression of GH/IGF axis and of cathepsin D suppressing fish growth and modulating the protein turnover.  相似文献

A 12‐week feeding trial was conducted to estimate the effects of supplemented amino acids (lysine and methionine) with different dietary protein levels on growth, haematology and liver histology in meagre (Argyrosomus regius) at two different sizes: fingerling (15.2 g) and juvenile (44.4 g). Six practical diets were prepared, and three of these practical diets were formulated with 40 (P40), 44 (P44) and 48% (P48) crude protein without supplementation of amino acids. Other three diets having same protein levels were supplemented with lysine and methionine (P40AA, P44AA and P48AA) to bring these amino acids level up to that estimated to be at the least in the 48% protein diet. Final mean weight (FMW) and specific growth rate (SGR) of P48AA in fingerlings were higher than that of 40AA. According to FMW and SGR of juveniles, there was interaction found between dietary protein levels and the supplementation of amino acids. The FMW and SGR of meagre fed P44AA were higher than that of fish fed the other diets, except fish fed the P48. Economic profit index, packed cell volume and haemoglobin for juvenile meagre were significantly improved with the dietary protein level and amino acid supplementation. The liver tissues of the P48 group in both sizes displayed better structure compared with the other groups. In conclusion, dietary crude protein content of practical diets for juvenile meagre could be reduced from 48% to 44% by adding essential amino acids with an enhancement in growth, health and economic profit.  相似文献

This study investigated the effects of dietary lysolecithin on growth performance, feed utilization and metabolic responses of channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus). Fish (initial weight: 14.77 ± 0.45 g) were randomly fed one of five practical diets supplemented with graded levels of lysolecithin (0, 125, 250, 375 and 500 mg/kg) in quadruplicate groups for 10 weeks. Results showed that no significant differences in weight gain, condition factor and viscerosomatic index among all the treatments. Fish fed diet supplemented with 250 mg/kg lysolecithin had significantly decreased feed conversion ratio and significantly increased protein efficiency ratio compared to that fed the control diet. The group with 250 mg/kg of dietary lysolecithin had higher protein and lower lipid contents in the whole body, and lower lipid content in the liver than those in the control group. Groups supplemented with 250–500 mg/kg of dietary lysolecithin had significantly higher gastric and intestinal lipase activities than the control group. Dietary lysolecithin at the level of 250 mg/kg significantly increased the activities of Na+, K+‐ATPase, alkaline phosphatase, total antioxidative capacity, total superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase and catalase and significantly decreased the content of malondialdehyde compared to the control diet. In conclusion, dietary supplementation of lysolecithin could confer benefits of feed utilization, body composition and antioxidative capacity of channel catfish.  相似文献

An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to quantify the dietary lysine requirement of juvenile cobia with an initial average weight of 1.25 g reared in indoor flow-through and aerated aquaria. Six isonitrogenous and isoenergetic practical diets (44% CP and 16% lipid) containing six levels of dietary lysine ranging from 1.15 to 3.25% (dry weight) at about 0.4% increments, using fish meal and wheat gluten as sources of intact protein, supplemented with crystalline amino acids. Equal amino acid nitrogen was maintained by replacing lysine with nonessential amino acid mixture. Each diet was randomly assigned to three aquaria and was fed to apparent satiation by hand four times daily. The results indicated that there were significantly differences in growth performance and feed utilization among the treatments. Maximum weight gain, special growth rate and protein efficiency ratio occurred at 2.38% dietary lysine; but with the increase of dietary lysine from 2.38 to 3.25%, weight gain, special growth rate and protein efficiency ratio did not significantly increase. The hepatosomatic index, viscerosomatic index, condition factor, crude protein content in whole body and main composition in muscle were significantly affected by dietary lysine levels; however moisture, lipid and ash content in whole body were not significantly affected by the dietary lysine. There were significant differences in total serum protein, glucose and triacyglycerol concentrations in fish fed diets with different dietary lysine levels. Haematocrit and leukocyte count were significantly affected by dietary lysine level, but hemoglobin and red blood cell count were not significantly affected. Lysine concentration in serum was significantly increased with the increase of dietary lysine level from 1.15 to 2.38%. Broken-line analysis on the basis of special growth rate showed that the dietary lysine requirement of juvenile cobia was 2.33% of dry diet (5.30% dietary protein).  相似文献

A study was conducted to examine the efficacy of crystalline lysine in alternative diets for pond‐raised hybrid catfish, ♀ Ictalurus punctatus × ♂ Ictalurus furcatus. Two 28% protein alternative diets supplemented with l ‐lysine HCl at the required level based on 62% (previously published value) or 100% lysine availability were compared with a traditional 28% protein control diet. Hybrid catfish fingerlings (mean initial weight = 43 g/fish) were stocked into 15 earthen ponds (0.04 ha) at a density of 14,826 fish/ha with five ponds per treatment. Fish were fed once daily to apparent satiation for a 173‐d growing season. There were no significant differences in total diet fed, net yield, weight gain, and survival among dietary treatments. There were also no significant differences in carcass yield, fillet yield, and fillet proximate composition and fillet lysine concentration among treatments. Fish fed the traditional control diet had slightly, but significantly, lower feed conversion ratio than fish fed alternative diets, which is likely related to higher dietary fiber levels in the alternative diets. Results from this study show that crystalline lysine can be considered 100% available when used to supplement lysine‐deficient diets for pond‐raised hybrid catfish.  相似文献
