商务部鼓励实施人道屠宰生猪

6月2日,商务部表示,鼓励生猪定点屠宰场按照国家有关标准规定,实施人道屠宰。 为配合8月1日起实施的《生猪屠宰管理条例》,商务部起草了2个配套规章,6月2～15日,公开征求社会各界意见。

黑龙江:在生猪屠宰企业增设官方兽医

据黑龙江省人民政府网站2019年4月10日报道,为落实农业农村部部署的屠宰环节官方兽医检疫监管制度,黑龙江省将在生猪屠宰企业增设官方兽医,其中大型生猪屠宰企业、中小型生猪屠宰企业、小型生猪屠宰场点官方兽医配置分别不少于10人、5人、2人。     

一起私自处置死因不明生猪案例的思考

一、案由 2005年8月8日昭平县牲畜定点屠宰管理办公室致函县畜牧水产局。据群众举报，8月3日县城生猪定点屠宰场发生一起畜主运走死因不明生猪私自处置的案件，请求协同调查处理，由于其时正处四川省发生人-猪链球菌疫情，防控进入关键阶段。全国各地积极抓好防治重大动物疫病工作的形势下，出现私自处置死因不明生猪，县畜牧水产局领导感到案情重大。次日即指派县兽医卫生监督检验所执法人员会同县牲畜定点屠宰管理办公室和县城生猪定点屠宰场主管部门人员联合展开调查。     

关于生猪定点屠宰工作中动检情况的调查

广东不检验生猪或取消屠宰资格

本刊辑:据广州日报2011年9月27日报道,《广东省生猪屠宰管理规定》(下称《规定》)将在10月1日正式实施,江门辖区的生猪屠宰场将逐渐全面实现企业自检制度,违反《规定》的屠宰场将被处以最高3万元的罚款,而造成严重后果的屠宰场将取消其生猪屠宰厂(场)资格。

屠宰场生猪检疫和消毒

加强生猪等动物的屠宰检疫管理，保证上市肉品质量，防止动物疾病传播，是关心人民群众身体健康，促进畜禽养殖业生产和发展的一件大事。随着《动物防疫法》的实施以及《生猪屠宰管理条例》的规定，“定点屠宰，集中检疫”这一政策已经以法律的形式确定下来，但定点屠宰场点的检疫工作却因定点屠宰场点的不同而有很大的区别。现谈谈对基层屠宰场点生猪检疫检验应遵循的程序和方法以及屠宰场点的消毒问题。

Simultaneous presence of a seminoma and a leiomyoma in the testes of a horse

An 18‐year‐old stallion was presented for castration because of insidious, bilateral scrotal enlargement of one year's duration. The left testis was firm, while the right was soft and lobulated; both were larger than normal. Palpation of the scrotum and its contents did not cause the horse to show signs of discomfort. Ultrasonography of scrotal contents revealed abnormal, heterogeneous tissue with ill defined regions of hyper‐ and hypoechogenity throughout both testes. Several hours after admission the horse developed severe signs of colic. On the basis of anamnesis, clinical findings, and results of ultrasonography and transrectal palpation bilateral testicular neoplasia and incarcerated inguinal hernia were tentatively diagnosed. Because the horse's owner did not consent to surgical treatment, the stallion was subjected to euthanasia. Histological and immunohistochemical examination of the testicular tissue collected post mortem revealed a seminoma in the left testis and a leiomyoma in the right testis. The post mortem examination also revealed incarceration of the small intestine in addition to the testicular tumours. To our knowledge, this is the first report of the simultaneous presence of bilateral, yet different testicular tumour types in a stallion.     

Occurrences of candidiasis in a Fisher's lovebird and a budgerigar

Two cage birds, a two-month-old Fisher's lovebird (Agapornis fischeri) and a one-year-old budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus), manifested clinical symptoms with general weakness, loss of appetite and ruffled feathers, then died. Pathological findings revealed a large quantity of yellowish-white pseudomembrane on the mucosal membrane of the esophagus and crop in these two birds. Histopathologically, blastospores (5.5 microm long x 3.4 microm wide) and pseudohyphae were detected in the lesions of conspicuous parakeratosis and moderate acanthosis in the stratified squamous epithelium. These two birds were diagnosed as having had candidiasis.     

Diagnosis and treatment of a caecal mucocoele in a dog

An 11-year-old male intact Staffordshire Bull terrier was referred for diabetic ketoacidosis. Abdominal ultrasonographic examination revealed a 5 cm × 2 cm intraluminal caecal mass-like structure. Exploratory laparotomy and typhlectomy were subsequently performed. Histopathology of the caecal mass-like structure was consistent with a caecal mucocoele, defined as a cystic dilation of the caecal lumen with stasis of mucus. This lesion has been previously described in humans, where it is termed an appendiceal mucocoele. The patient was euthanased 58 days post-operatively due to unrelated diabetic complications.
