ABSTRACT

This study mapped the scholarly literature in the discipline of food science using co-citation analysis and explored the relationships found within this literature. Using the Journal of Food Science, an examination of a random sample of its articles published from 2000 to 2002 yielded a ranked list of frequently-cited journals. The top thirteen most frequently-cited journals formed a core set for further analysis. Using the SciSearch online database and a standard statistical package (SPSS), a two-dimensional map was created, relationships between the journals were studied, and the discipline of food science was explored. Food science journals tended to be either industry-specific (e.g., dairy science) or industry-general. The journals also tended to focus on either “pure” science (e.g., chemistry) or on applied science and technology. Of the thirteen journals mapped, six fell within the area of pure science, while four were in the area of applied science. Interestingly, three journals fell on the axis line dividing the two. At the same time, seven journals had the characteristics of being industry-general, while six were more industry-specific. The results are consistent with previous indications of the interdisciplinary nature of the field of food science, drawing as it does from many fields such as chemistry, microbiology, engineering, and agricultural science.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

“Agricultural communications” is an emerging field which is naturally both part of the “agriculture” and “communications” literature. However, it is much broader than just a subset of each. The coverage of standard databases such as CAB Abstracts and Communication Abstracts, while a good start, does not sufficiently cover the field. The Agricultural Communications Documentation Center (ACDC) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has, over the last quarter century, worked to help define and collect this literature, by identifying relevant documents and entering them into a Web-searchable Microsoft Access database. An analysis of this database reveals important clues concerning the literature of agricultural communications. Of the nearly 30,000 documents within the ACDC collection, periodical articles comprise a little over one half, from a core list of 45 periodicals within the ACDC collection. More than one half of these core periodicals are outside the traditional agriculture and life science literature; approximately one third are scholarly journals.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

After reviewing previously published literature in citation analysis and literature mapping, this study mapped the literature of food science and explored the relationships found within it. Using articles published in the Journal of Food Science from 2003 through 2005, a stratified random sample of citations was studied to yield a ranked list of the thirteen most frequently cited journals, which formed a core set for further analysis. Using the Science Citation Index and a standard statistical package (SPSS13), a two-dimensional map was created, relationships between the journals were studied, and the discipline of food science was explored. The study is an extension of previously published research covering the years 2000–2002 and attempts to analyze and compare the results across time frames.  相似文献

Giant ragweed (Ambrosia trifida L.) has become one of the most persistent and problematic weeds to farmers and allergy sufferers in North America over the last decades. This study aims to identify and assess the scholarly literature using a bibliometric analysis approach. Based on bibliographic records retrieved from the Web of Science database, the study describes the periodic growth of literature, scientific fields and journals, author productivity and collaborations, institutions and countries, and topical focus and uses article citation analysis to identify the most influential works in this research field during the period of 1903 to 2012.  相似文献

Foodline® is a trio of databases from U.K.-based Leatherhead Food Research Association providing international coverage of food marketing, technical and regulatory information. Foodline®: International Food Market Data is a bibliographic database of global market information abstracted from some 250 food and beverage business and trade journals, statistical publications and market studies. Foodline®: Food Science and Technology consists of citations and abstracts from over 550 core scientific and technical journals, books, reports and conference papers. Foodline®: Current Food Legislation is a unique database which summarizes the provisions of current food additive regulations for over 90 countries and food composition and labeling standards for the U.S. and seven European Union countries. 畜禽养殖业的集约化和规模化发展,造成畜禽粪污产生量急剧增加。畜禽粪污处理不当可对周遭的土壤、水体、大气等造成污染,成为我国农业面源污染的主要来源之一。基于Web of Science核心合集数据库,采用文献计量学方法对此研究领域的相关文献进行分析整合。结果表明:(1)全球对粪肥污染研究的重视程度越来越高,沼液作为畜禽粪污厌氧消化的主要产物,其在还田领域的发文主要集中于土壤科学、环境科学、农学3个学科;(2)美国、中国、德国、澳大利亚、法国等国家在沼液还田利用研究领域发文量较多,相互合作密切;(1)沼液还田利用领域的发文期刊主要有Agriculture Ecosystems&Environment、Geoderma、Science of the Total Environment,其中2021年的SCI影响因子较高的主要期刊有Science of the Total Environment、Geoderma、Agriculture Ecosystems&Environment、Catena等。沼液还田利用的未来研究趋势主要集中于沼液所携带的活性物质与菌群对土壤肥力的促进机...  相似文献

为提高小麦氮素监测领域研究的科学性、精准性、交叉性和前沿性,该文通过可视化分析探寻领域研究现状和内容演变,以期了解最新研究动态和未来发展方向。利用文献计量学方法,借助VOSviewer、HistCite等工具,挖掘1990—2022年间发文趋势、学科领域、国家、机构、期刊和高被引论文、研究热点、主题演变等,并对学科交叉和文献集中度等进行分析。对检索得到的14 091篇有效文献研究发现,全球发文量总体呈上升趋势,中国是近年来发展最快的国家,累计发文量达3 300篇,以23.42%的占比位居全球第一,但在本地引文次数和总被引次数方面还有待提升。小麦氮素监测领域从原先以农学、植物科学为代表的单一学科引领,逐步向农学、植物科学、环境科学与生态学、化学、计算机科学、遥感等多学科交叉融合转变;研究热点从早期的氮素营养、氮素循环、光合作用等单一生理过程解析,逐步向遥感监测、作物模型、生长模拟等数字农业方向演变,形成了以中国和美国为代表的全球两大主要研究节点。全球发文量前十作者中有6人来自中国,全球发文量前十机构中国占据6席,中国在高被引论文4项指标中均位居前列。随着时间的推移,研究人员的团队性和国际化合作倾向越发明显,中国与全球发文量前十国家的合作发文量占比为31.48%,且与不同国家合作重点不尽相同。农学类期刊是该领域主要发文刊物,其中以《Field Crops Research》最具代表性。结果表明,小麦氮素监测领域学科交叉态势已日渐显现,国家、机构、作者等文献集中度日趋明显,研究热点及领域发展趋势越发清晰,未来,跨国别、跨学科、跨团队的深度合作将带来更大、更深远的发展契机。  相似文献

从Wo S数据库核心合集中检索出1900—2019年相关文献4473篇,运用CiteSpace知识图谱分析工具,对合著国家、机构、作者、学科领域、关键词、文献共被引网络等进行可视化分析,对有机肥料的研究进展及演变趋势进行图谱解读与分析:①有机肥料对改善土壤理化性状、抑制土传病害、提高作物产量品质的作用及其机理依然是研究重点;②最新的基因测序等分子生物学技术在有机肥料研究中将得到更加广泛应用;③添加天然沸石、生物质炭等物质制造有机类肥料是未来有机肥料加工的重要方向;④有机肥料研究具有很强的学科交叉性,涉及农业、化学、环境生态学、环境科学、工程学等众多学科领域;⑤中国有机肥料研究发展迅速,国际上合作发表有机肥料学术论文数量前三的研究机构分别是中国科学院、南京农业大学、中国农科院,具有重要的学术影响力。  相似文献

AgEcon Search is a free-to-user subject repository containing the full text of the grey literature and small press journals of agricultural and applied economics. It has developed over the last 14 years, through a close relationship between librarians and economists. ABSTRACT

This study seeks to (1) identify the most productive source for current awareness information for the faculty and graduate students in the Department of Food Science and Technology at the University of Arkansas, (2) identify the update frequency and, hence, currency of information, and (3) identify effectiveness in retrieval. It is also hoped that this research will provide evidenced-based information for subscribing to a particular current awareness database for University of Arkansas food science and technology patrons and will allow us to direct patrons in this subject area to the best and most relevant resource for their current information needs. This paper reports the results of our evaluation of four current awareness sources on three search interfaces. These include Article 1st (First Search); Ingenta Connect; ISI Current Contents: Agriculture, Biology and Environmental Sciences (ABES); and ISI Current Contents: Life Sciences (LS). A listing of journals cited by faculty and graduate students in the Department of Food Science at the University of Arkansas for the period 1987–2003 was used to check against these databases. The extent of coverage of the journals and timeliness of update were used as criteria for the evaluation. The characteristics of the three interfaces are highlighted with respect to their effectiveness in providing a current awareness service.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Much of what defines the national character of Americans, as well as the nation's social structure, landscape, environment, and economy, is rooted in our agricultural past This remarkable story of the American experience is captured in a broad band of documentary resources that include the memoirs and transactions of early agricultural societies and almanacs, extension service publications, archives, photographs, oral histories and periodicals for farm families and the agricultural “trade.” However, older materials, especially those printed on poor-quality paper, are often severely deteriorated, brittle and fragile. To lose these materials would be to lose an invaluable record of American values and the nation's scientific and business enterprise.

The united States Agricultural Information Network (USAIN) proposes a national program to preserve in the original or in an archivally sound format–and make readily accessible to scholars, researchers, students, and scientists–the most important pre-1950 published literature and the primary unpublished resources that together document the history of the agricultural sciences in the United States. Participants will be land-grant institutions, the National Agricultural Library, and other libraries, societies, and archives with important historical collections. A USAIN-appointed national steering committee will govern and develop funding for the program and recruit a Coordinator to work with participating institutions to develop suitable preservation projects. The first priority is the preservation of scholarly monographs and journals identified as the core historical literature of the agricultural sciences. Projects will employ a hybrid mix of technologies (e.g., preservation microfilming, conservation of originals, and digital scanning), which reflect requirements for both archival soundness and improved access. The program will also assure that records for preserved items are included in national databases and that storage conditions for archival copies meet national standards. The plan envisions formation of a “National Agriculture Literature Archive” at the National Agricultural Library.  相似文献

中国是一个农业生产和消费大国,同时也面临着投入产出比率相对较低、环境污染等一系列问题,尤其在国际形势变化、自然灾害频发的背景下,中国传统农业生产方式亟需转型升级。在人工智能、物联网、云平台等新兴技术的带动下,精准农业孕育而生,成为了全球农业实现绿色、高产的有效途径。该文瞄准世界精准农业发展较好的发达国家和地区,通过文献梳理和总结,凝练出政府引导、信息化建设、科技支撑、新型农民培育等发达国家和地区发展精准农业的成功经验。在此基础上,着眼于中国大田种植,分析中国发展精准农业的基础,从农田配套设施及信息化建设、农业信息获取、自动变量作业系统及装备等方面充分认识中国发展精准农业的薄弱环节。该文旨在厘清中国精准农业的发展方向,借鉴国际经验,提出中国精准农业今后的发展建议,如强化政府组织领导作用、加强基础设施和信息化建设、聚焦核心技术研发、培养新型农业人才、分区域试点示范。  相似文献

This article traces the development of AGRIS and CARIS systems developed by the FAO's Library and Documentation Systems Division in the sharing of agricultural research and current agriculture research activities and describes the AGRIN package, highlighting its benefits for developing countries. The potential problems for developing countries in producing printed outputs are discussed. Ways to create additional print formats for viewing of records online or for the generation of the printed outputs are presented. 利用引文分析方法对中国农科院科研人员引用外文文献的类型进行了统计分析,并对引用量最大的外文期刊的品种数量、学科、语种、出版机构及保障情况也进行了分析。结果表明:科研人员引用的外文文献以期刊比例最高,其次为图书及会议录;引用外文期刊的数量符合布拉德福定律;引用外文期刊的学科非常广泛,主要以生物科学、农业为主,基础医学等也占有较高的比例;科研人员的外文期刊品种数满足率达90%,NSTL印本保障率为95.5%,网络版全文保障率,本馆与NSTL订购之和为60.1%。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In the first of this two-part series of articles, the debate in the clinical literature over the reality or extent of particular positive health benefits of a putative nutraceutical, conjugated linoleic acids (CLAs), in human subjects will be reviewed. In the second article, the means by which animal scientists and farmers—responding as much to annual sales in the hundreds of millions of dollars in health food stores of seed oil capsules rich in CLAs, as opposed to any conclusive clinical science—are aggressively pursuing ways to feed livestock that would naturally increase the concentration of CLAs per conventional consumer dietary portions, essentially allowing meat, eggs, fluid milk and the processed foods derived from them to be marketed as functional foods. In both installments in this series, the core journals covering developments in CLA-related research are identified for agricultural and food science librarians.  相似文献

Abstract

Field average based recommendations have been a common practice for recommending the major crop nutrients nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P). The problem is yield will not be the same from year to year with application of the same amount of recommended rate of fertilizer. The objectives of this study were to demonstrate how recommendations generated using nutrient response experiments were dynamic; and to assess the relative contribution of temporal variability, N and P fertilizers on winter wheat grain yield and N concentration. Twelve factorial combinations of four N (0, 56, 112, and 168 kg ha?1) and three P (0, 14.5, and 29 kg P ha?1) rates were evaluated in a randomized complete block design with three replications at Perkins, Oklahoma. To address the first objective, ANOVA and orthogonal polynomial contrasts were used. To address the second objective, a ten predictor variable multiple linear regression model with two quantitative variables and their interaction (N, P and N×P) and seven-year variables was evaluated and a reduced model containing seven variables was generated. Wheat grain yield showed three distinct responses to N rates: Linear, quadratic and no response. These individual year data show that it is not always appropriate to use results of nutrient response experiments to estimate next year's N fertilizer requirement due to apparent temporal variability in the results. Wheat only responded to P during the first two years of the study. The reduced model from the regression analysis revealed that most of the variability in grain yield was accounted for by five individual indicator years and N only. High variability across years in grain yield and fertilizer (N and P) response, even between years of similar grain yield, is an indication of a given season's production dependence on factors other than N and P.  相似文献

[目的]石漠化是制约中国西南岩溶区经济社会发展的首要生态环境问题。总结石漠化生态治理现状和特点,旨在为制定更为合理的石漠化防治策略提供参考。[方法]通过查阅文献资料等,系统总结了中国石漠化治理历程和发展阶段,以及目前中国石漠化治理的单项生态技术和综合治理模式。[结果]中国石漠化治理技术有工程技术7类26种,生物技术4类15种,耕作技术3类14种和其他技术,包括林草植被恢复模式、生态农业模式、生态畜牧业模式、水土保持模式、生态移民模式、生态旅游模式、综合治理模式和其他治理模式等8类生态治理模式。[结论]生态技术受经济社会发展水平和治理目标影响,其适宜性因时而变。当前中国的石漠化治理应从减小人口压力,优化土地利用结构,充分发挥生态自我修复能力等方面入手。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to develop a core list of journals for the field of agricultural economics. For this study, the holdings of members of the Agricultural Economics Reference Organization who represent agricultural economics libraries in the U.S. and Canada were surveyed. The resulting list of titles is compared to four similar lists, three in agricultural economics and the fourth in economics. Using any one list of journals is inadequate for collection development in agricultural economics. This survey list, along with other similar lists, can be used for decision making in selection and management of journal titles in the field.  相似文献
