Influence of Seed Coating Formulations on Maize Production

Effects of four coating formulations on rnaive production were studied. The results showed that all ooating formulations had some effects on improving maize seedlings, strengthening the resistance againt diseases and pests and increasing the yidds in different degrees, especially Paxil which increased the corn yield by 12.0%, significantly higher than the eontrol.

Optimal Scheme Selection of Agricultural Production Structure Adjustment——Based on DEA Model; Punjab(Pakistan)

This paper used the modern evaluation method of DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) to assess the comparative efficiency and then on the basis of this among multiple schemes chose the optimal scheme of agricultural production structure adjustment. Based on the results of DEA model, we dissected scale advantages of each discretionary scheme or plan. We examined scale advantages of each discretionary scheme, tested profoundly a definitive purpose behind not-DEA efficient, which elucidated the system and methodology to enhance these discretionary plans. At the end, another method had been proposed to rank and select the optimal scheme. The research was important to guide the practice if the modification of agricultural production industrial structure was carried on.

Preliminary Studies on the Production of Artificial Seeds by Encapsutating Microtubers of Potato

The production of atificial seeds by encapsulating microtubers of potato included a series of proccesses.Initially,the micropropagation of adventitions buds and microtuber-inducing system should be established.Both high quatity microtuber and synchronizing microtuber which have the same size were necessary for producing health potato artificial seeds.In our eperiment,the optimum medium of adventitious shoot-inducing of potato Hutao,Kesi,and Favorita is DCR 1.0mg/kg MA 0.5mg/kg IBA 500mg/kg LH;the optium medium of microtuber-inducing of Hutao and Kesi is DCR 5.0mg/kg MA 200mg/kg Lh _8% sugar.and the optium medium of microtuber-inducing of Favorita is DCR 5.0 mg/kg BA 0.1mg/kg NAA 200 mg/kg LH 8% sugar,Microtubers of the same size were gained by selecting the symchronous microtubers.2.0% sodium alginate was sued to encapsulate the microtubers of potato to form the artificialo seeds.and the concentration of Ca Cl2 is 4% .Phytohormone NAA promoted the germination of potato artificial seeds.these artificial seeds have more than 90% germinating frequency in plant hormone-free DCR medium.     

Optimization of Media for Production of an Effective Yeast Biocontrol Agent Pichia membranefaciens

The growth of Pichia membranefaciens was studied using different nitrogen and carbon sources as substrates. Among nitrogen sources tested, soya peptone, yeast extract power, beef extract and polypeptone were relatively favorable to the growth of yeast. The density of the yeast showed to be directly proportional to carbon sources supplementation. Glucose and fructose were good carbon sources for the yeast growth. However, lactose showed poor performance for the cell growth of the yeast. In this study, beef extract presented a good synergic effect on the yeast growth with different carbonhydrates. The medium for P.membranefaciens used glucose and beef extract as substrates. The higher concentration of glucose and beef extract, the better growth of P.membranefaciens. The addition of chlorella growth factor (CGF) stimulated markedly the growth of P.membranefaciens. The increased concentration of CGF from 0.5 to 1% did not enhance the numbers of P.membranefaciens. This result will help design a better strategy for scale-up production of P.membranefaciens.

Over forty Trichoderma harzianum isolates have been screened in solid substrate fermentation (SSF) for chitinase production. Strains were isolated from Asian soil and tree bark samples. Production and Identification of High Affinity Monoclonal Antibodies Against Pesticide Carbofuran

To produce high-affinity monoclonal antibodies against pesticide carbofuran, and the develop immunochemical assays for people＇s health and environmental protection, the hapten 4-[[（2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimethyl-7-benzofuranyloxy） carbonyl]- amino]-butanoic acid （BFNB） of carbofuran was synthesized and Balb/c mice were immunized by the hapten-carrier （BFNB-bovine serum albumin, BFNB-BSA） conjugates. The splenocytes of immunized mice were fused with Sp2/0 cells and the cultural supernatants of hybridoma cells were screened by the indirect enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay （ELISA）, based on BFNB-ovoalbumin conjugates （BFNB-OVA）. Purified monoclonal antibody （McAb） was obtained from fluids of ascites, deposited by octanoic acid and ammonium sulfate. The affinity and the specificity of McAb were characterized by ELISA or indirect competitive ELISA. A hybridoma cell line （5D3） secreting anti-carbofuran McAb had been established. The titer of culture medium and ascites was up to 1：2.048 × 10^3 and 1：1.024 × 10^6, respectively, and the subtype of the McAb was IgG1. The affinity constant of the McAb was about 2.54 × 10×9 L mol^-1, with an IC50 value of 1.18 ng mL^-1 and a detection limit of 0.01 ng mL^-1. Cross-reactivity studies showed that the McAb was quiet specific for carbofuran, as among the four analogous compounds, they were all hardly recognized （4.59 × 10^-4% for 2,3-dihydro-2,2- dimethyl-7-benzofuranol and less than 3.0 × 10^4% for others）. The prepared McAb had a very high affinity and specificity, and it could be used to develop ELISA for rapid determination of carbofuran.

Research on Theories and Techniques of Irrigation for Safeguarding Seed Production of Two-Line Hybrid Rice

By inducing frequency, intensity and duration of lower temperature in the middle and last ten-day periods in August in the rice-growing areas of southern China, increasing temperature for safe seed production was defined as 2℃. During the sensitive period of fertility, characters of panicle height and canopy structure of TGMS rice, Pei＇ai64S, were measured. Results showed that temperature changes caused by irrigation in fields were below 40 cm of rice plant, and heating effect was significant at 20 cm when the temperature was increased by 3.1 ℃. For the present study, the following irrigation techniques were put forth： the water depth of 15-20 cm, current water used, irrigating after 17：00 and bailing at 10：00 in sunny or cloudy weather, irrigating on whole day, in shady or rainy weather, increasing inflows and outflows in large fields. In the present experiment, pollen fertility and self-fertilized seed setting rate accepted that the techniques were feasible and effective for against lower temperature and safeguarding seed production of two-line hybrid rice.

Production and Characterization of Polyclonal Antibody for the N- Methylcarbamate Insecticide Metolcarb

The hapten, 3-{[1-(3-(methyl)phenyloxy)-carbonyl]amino}propanoic acid (HOM), mimicking the analyte metolcarb, was synthesized and verified by mass spectrometry (MS) and 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry (1H-NMR). Then,HOM was conjugated with the carrier proteins bovine serum albumin (BSA) and ovalbumin (OVA) with stoichiometric amounts of N-hydroxysuccinimide/dicyclohexylcarbodimide (NHS/DCC) using the activated ester method. Polyclonal antibodies were raised against the conjugate of HOM-BSA in rabbits. Antiserum titres were determined by noncompetitive indirect ELISA procedures and the titer of pAb01 reached 1.28 × 106. The cross-reactivities of the structurally related Nmethylcarbamate insecticides were 0.0% except for dimethacarb. These results indicate that the antibody pAb01 with strong affinity and high specificity can be used to develop a sensitive and rapid detection protocol for metolcarb residue.
