The freshwater characiform fish Prochilodus lineatus is a detritivorous species that has its native distribution area in South America but has been imported to China for aquaculture purposes. This is the first time that it is being reported in Vietnam, both from aquaculture and captured from a river channel. According to local authorities, the species is becoming increasingly important in local aquaculture and its spread can be expected. Keeping in mind the high biomass production in the rivers of its native distribution area, a successful establishment of P. lineatus into Vietnamese fresh waters may exert serious impacts on the local ecosystems.  相似文献

This article reports on the changes in gross biochemical and fatty acid composition of the razor clam Ensis arcuatus larvae throughout development. Protein was the largest component of dried larval tissues. The energy required for embryogenesis in E. arcuatus oocytes was obtained from stored proteins and carbohydrates, while total lipids increased significantly. Lipids and carbohydrates have an important role as energy contributors from day 1 to day 8. During larval development the strategy was to indistinctly store energy reserves (protein, lipid and carbohydrate) to surpass metamorphosis. During embryonic development there was a gain in fatty acids of neutral and polar lipids. A depletion of fatty acids in neutral lipids was observed from day 1 to day 8 in E. arcuatus larvae, mainly due to the decrease in 16:0 and EPA. NMID fatty acids were present in amounts similar to those of some PUFAs in polar lipids, especially 22:2NMID.  相似文献

Prochilodus lineatus (Val.) is one of the main target species of South American freshwater fisheries. The following null hypotheses regarding juvenile recruitment of P. lineatus were tested: (a) recruitment is not determined by variations in larval abundance and (b) recruitment is not determined by variations in discharge. For this purpose, variations in abundance of larvae in main channel drift and monthly captures of juveniles in a floodplain lake of the River Paraná were examined weekly between 2009 and 2016. Mean annual abundances of larval densities and CPUE of juveniles were correlated with a set of hydrometric variables. A positive correlation was found between the abundance of juveniles with high and persistent flood pulses. By contrast, larval abundance was not correlated with juvenile abundance. Pronounced contrast was found in the recruitment of P. lineatus between years of high and low discharge, which supports the hypothesis that floods are the main determining factor for recruitment of this species.  相似文献

This study investigated the effect of different proportions of dietary docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (ARA) on the growth, survival and stress response of curimba (Prochilodus lineatus Valenciennes) larvae, an omnivorous freshwater species, fed on enriched Artemia. Six different experimental emulsions were formulated to have two levels of ARA (A‐0.5 and A‐1.0), two levels of DHA (D‐0.5 and D‐1.0) two combinations of ARA and DHA (AD‐3:1 and AD‐1:3). There were no significant effects of treatments on curimba standard length and survival at the end of the experiment. The results showed a negative correlation between dietary DHA and whole‐body cortisol after 60 s of air exposure. The resting concentration of cortisol was not affected by the diets (= .424). After air exposure, all treatments except for D‐1.0 (= .137) and D‐0.5 (= .545) exhibited a marked cortisol rise. These results showed that DHA supplementation can have an attenuating effect on cortisol response after air exposure.  相似文献

A six‐week feeding trial was conducted to determine the effect of butyric acid (BA) inclusion in diet on performance of Barramundi (Lates calcarifer). Fish (12.0 ± 0.2 g) were fed with four experimental diets contained 0.0 (control), 2.5, 5.0 and 10.0 g BA/kg in triplicate. Fish fed on 5 and 10 g BA/kg diets had higher growth and total alkaline protease and lipase activities than the other treatments. Fillet protein content in BA‐supplemented groups was higher than the control. Liver catalase activity was highest in 2.5 g BA/kg group compared with the other groups. The values of liver superoxide dismutase activity and serum total protein concentration in 5 and 10 g BA/kg treatments were higher than those in the control (p < .05). Moreover, the highest and the lowest levels of serum lysozyme activity were noticed in the 10 g BA/kg and the control groups, respectively (p < .05). Also, the highest respiratory burst activity was observed in fish fed 5 g BA/kg feed. Supplementing diet with 2.5 or 5 g BA/kg resulted in higher serum haemolytic activity in fish compared with the other groups. The number of red and white blood cells increased in fish fed BA‐supplemented diets compared with the control (p < .05). In conclusion, the results of this study showed inclusion of BA at 5 g/kg diet in L. calcarifer juveniles improved growth and upgraded the general health condition by enhancing fish antioxidant enzyme activities and haemato‐immunological responses.  相似文献

Fish (175 g of initial weight) were fed in triplicated groups with four diets formulated by 0% (FO 100), 75% (FO 25) and 100% (with and without probiotics, FO 0 and FO 0+) of fish oil replacement consisting of a mixture of linseed, sunflower and palm oils. After 109 days, growth and nutritional parameters were not affected by the treatment; however, fish fed with 0% of fish oil showed the lowest survival rate and without differences between the same diet with probiotics. As for biometric parameters, significant differences in the viscerosomatic index (VSI) were observed between fish fed the FO 0+ diet and the FO 100 and FO 25 diets. Results obtained from histological analysis did not detect inflammation in gut samples, while liver samples showed a remarkable steatosis in all four treatments. Total fish oil replacement produced a significant difference in the width of the lamina propria. The dietary inclusion of probiotics in the FO 0+ diet seems to favour a recovery of intestine histology. In addition, as fish oil substitution increased, the width of the lamina propria also increased. In conclusion, it is possible to affirm that the four diets administrated to Seriola dumerili did not compromise the correct development of the animals.  相似文献

A 6‐week study was conducted to determine the effects of different lipid sources in pelleted diets on juvenile mud crab Scylla paramamosain. Five isonitrogenous and isolipidic diets containing 8% level of fish oil (FO), lard (LD), safflower oil (SO), perilla seed oil (PO) or mixture oil (MO; VFO:VSO:VPO = 1:1:1), and a live food of marine bivalve Potamocorbula rubromuscula as the control diet (CF), were fed to groups of 25 juvenile crabs (average initial weight 7.4 g, carapace width 3.5 cm) in triplicate. The results showed that crabs fed MO had the highest survival (< 0.05). The moisture content was significantly higher in crabs fed LD, SO and PO (< 0.05). Crabs fed SO exhibited the lowest crude protein and lipid (< 0.05). Ash contents were obviously lower in LD group (< 0.05). Highest total lipid in the hepatopancreas and muscle was in LD and FO group respectively. Glucose, total cholesterol and low‐density lipoprotein were higher while high‐density lipoprotein was lower (< 0.05) in LD group. Tissue fatty acid compositions were consistent with those in diets. FO and MO diets had the same depression effect like CF on fatty acid synthase activity and mRNA expression in the hepatopancreas. The results of this study indicated that FO and mixed oil are suitable for preparation of pelleted diets with better effects for juvenile S. paramamosain compared with live food, and the ratio of n‐6/n‐3 fatty acids in pelleted diets must be <1.  相似文献

We evaluated the growth and survival rate of sterlet (Acipenser ruthenus) larvae fed Artemia nauplii enriched with Olioω3 or Red Pepper commercial emulsions (BernAqua NV, Belgium). Sterlet larvae, 0.022 ± 0.002 g body weight, were randomly assigned to one of three feeding regimes with two different feeding durations. After administering live feed for 7 or 14 days, larvae were weaned onto commercial food and reared to 36 days posthatching (28 days of feeding). There were no significant differences in body weight among groups at the end of the trial. A significantly higher survival rate (p < 0.05) was observed in larvae fed Artemia enriched with Red Pepper for 14 days compared to other feeding regimes. Based on the analysis of growth parameters, we can conclude that 7 days of live feeding to be sufficient for efficient rearing of sterlet larvae. And longer duration of live feeding with use of special enrichment can be recommended for a higher survival rate.  相似文献

This study investigated factors key to the development of sperm cryopreservation in the greenlip abalone Haliotis laevigata using a programmable freezing technique, including (1) permeable cryoprotectant agent (CPA) selection; (2) cooling rate; (3) endpoint temperature; (4) thawing temperature; (5) sperm to egg ratio and (6) sugar, vitamin and amino acid supplementation, using sperm motility, fertilization rate, plasma membrane integrity, mitochondrial membrane potential or acrosome integrity as quality assessment indicators. Results showed that among the permeable CPAs evaluated, 10% dimethyl sulfoxide was the most suitable for greenlip abalone sperm cryopreservation. The highest post‐thaw sperm motility was achieved with the sperm being frozen at a cooling rate of ?5°C min?1 to ?30°C from 0°C and thawed and recovered in 40°C and 18°C seawater baths respectively. The addition of sugars in 10% dimethyl sulfoxide did not significantly improve the post‐thaw sperm motility and fertilization rate. The addition of 0.6% glycine, 0.2% taurine or 0.02% L‐ascorbic acid, on the other hand, significantly improved the post‐thaw sperm motility. However, only the addition of 0.6% glycine improved the post‐thaw sperm fertilization rate, which was further confirmed by the improvement of the post‐thaw sperm mitochondrial membrane potential and acrosome integrity through flow cytometry analysis.  相似文献

A high mortality of cultured loach during their early development has constrained loach aquaculture industry in China. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of dietary vitamin E (VE) supplementation on growth performance, lipid peroxidation and fatty acid composition of loach Misgurnus anguillicaudatus fingerlings. Six test diets supplemented with 0 (0E), 50 (50E), 100 (100E), 150 (150E), 200 (200E) and 500 mg kg?1 (500E) of dl‐α‐tocopheryl acetate were fed loach fingerlings (mean initial weight 24.0 ± 0.2 mg) in triplicate for 40 days. Results showed that the fish fed diet 100E and 200E had significantly higher body weight gains and specific growth ratios and significantly lower feed conversion ratios compared with fish fed diet 0E. With the increase in dietary VE level, whole‐body VE content was significantly increased (except 500E) and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances value was significantly reduced. Increasing dietary VE level increased the percentages of 20:4n‐6 and 20:5n‐3 in neutral lipid fraction, but decreased the percentages of 20:4n‐6 and 20:5n‐3 in polar lipid fraction. In conclusion, VE requirement of loach fingerlings for optimum growth and functionally preventing lipid peroxidation was 136.1 mg kg?1 of dry diet under the present experimental conditions.  相似文献

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) on growth performance, carcass chemical composition and fatty acid profile of lambari (Astyanax altiparanae). A completely randomized experimental design with six treatments, diets with graded levels of CLA (0.0, 5.0, 10.0, 15.0, 20.0 and 25.0 g kg?1) and five repetitions. Fish (n = 570; weight: 1.58 ± 0.23 g) were distributed into 30 (70‐L) aquaria and fed the experimental diets during 90 days. No effects of dietary supplementation with CLA on fish performance and carcass chemical composition were observed. CLA influenced carcass fatty acid profile, a positive relationship was found for 16:1 n‐9, 18:1 n‐9, 18:2(cis‐9, trans‐11), 18:2(trans‐10, cis‐12) and 20:1 n‐9, and a negative relationship was found for 15:1 n‐7, 16:0, 16:1 n‐5, 18:2 n‐6, 18:3 n‐3, 20:5 n‐3 and 22:4 n‐6. Total CLA and monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) linearly increased with the increase in dietary CLA, while saturated fatty acids (SFA) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) of n‐6 and n‐3 series linearly decreased. Dietary CLA can be incorporated into the lambari (A. altiparanae) muscle, and the fish can be used as functional foods, because CLA is related to the prevention of various diseases in humans.  相似文献

A 10‐week feeding experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary DHA/EPA ratio on juvenile Japanese seabass reared in sea floating cages. Six practical diets were formulated differing only in DHA/EPA ratio: 0.55 (Diet D/E0.55), 1.04 (D/E1.04), 1.53 (D/E1.53), 2.08 (D/E2.08), 2.44 (D/E2.44) and 2.93 (D/E2.93). All diets had the same contents of total n‐3 long‐chain polyunsaturated fatty acid (LC‐PUFA) and arachidonic acid (ARA). The results showed that the final weight and specific growth rate significantly increased with increasing dietary DHA/EPA ratio from 0.55 to 2.08 and thereafter declined. Activities of lysozyme and superoxide dismutase in serum in groups with DHA/EPA of 1.53–2.93 was significantly higher compared to group D/E0.55 while the activity of serum alternative complement pathway in group D/E2.93 was significantly lower compared with group D/E1.53. However, no difference was observed in activities of both respiratory burst of head kidney macrophage and serum catalase among dietary treatments. The per cent survival after air exposure in group D/E1.53, D/E2.08 and D/E2.93 was significantly higher compared with group D/E0.55. The fatty acid composition of whole body and tissues reflected closely those of diets, while fish accumulated more DHA than EPA in fish tissues, especially in muscle. These results suggested that at the same dietary contents of n‐3 LC‐PUFA (appr. 18% of TFA) and ARA (appr. 0.7% of TFA), moderate dietary DHA/EPA ratios of 1.53–2.08 significantly enhanced growth performances, certain innate immune responses, and the stress tolerance of Japanese seabass, in accordance with the preferential incorporation of DHA into fish tissues.  相似文献

Green water is a technique commonly used in aquaculture, that consists of adding live algae in the water culture and its benefits have been shown for several species. Several hypotheses exist to explain the benefits of green water: increase in nutritional value; action as a probiotic; increase in contrast to reveal preys for larvae; or increase in predator behaviour of larvae. Green water produced with a mix of strains Isochrysis galbana and Chaetoceros muelleri (50:50, cells:cells) applied in four different ways was tested. The survival and the growth of American lobster (Homarus americanus) between stage I and stage IV post‐larvae were not affected by the addition of live algae. The lipid classes were not affected by the addition of algae and limited variation was observed in the fatty acids and bacterial profiles. Furthermore, the green water techniques had a limited effect on the behaviour of post‐larvae stage IV lobster at releasing. Behaviour was mostly affected by the age of post‐larvae. The bacteria Lewinella sp., Leucothrix sp. and Thiothrix sp. appeared to represent a common and core component of Stage IV lobster post‐larvae microflora. The results show that the algae do not increase either nutritional value or feed intake of the lobster larvae. Probiotic effect may be more important when larvae are raised in a close system where potential bacterial pathogens could have more chances to colonize the culture. Also, the dark green colour of the larval tank used in this study may have mimicked the effect of green water in the control group. Biochemical results suggest that dietary supplementation with phospholipids and DHA is needed in a lobster hatchery using frozen Artemia and our open formula Dry mix.  相似文献

The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of the supplementation of different crab zoeas to enriched Artemia basal diet for Octopus vulgaris paralarvae during the first month of life. Paralarvae were fed using enriched Artemia nauplii alone and Artemia co‐fed either first zoea stages of Grapsus adscensionis or Plagusia depressa. The experiment was carried out over a period of 28 days, in 0.12 m3 tanks with a flow‐through rearing system. Growth in dry weight as well as mantle length and width were assessed weekly. Additionally, prey and paralarvae fatty acid composition and digestive gland (DG) histology were evaluated. Addition of low amounts of crab zoeas (approx. 100 indv. L?1 day?1) provided during critical life stages of O. vulgaris proved to be good enough to improve paralarvae growth and survival in comparison with those fed exclusively on enriched Artemia. These results were supported by the finding of a higher number of glycoprotein absorption vacuoles in the DG from paralarvae co‐fed crab zoeas, suggesting a higher feeding activity. In addition, fatty acid analysis of crab zoea showed that these are good sources of dietary arachidonic and eicosapentaenoic acids during the octopus planktonic life stage, whereas the low docosahexaenoic (DHA) content suggests the use of additional DHA sources or higher zoea densities to meet paralarvae nutritional demand to carry out a successful metamorphosis to benthic life.  相似文献

The importance of dietary 20:5n‐3 (EPA), 22:6n‐3 (DHA) and 20:4n‐6 (ARA) for growth, survival and fatty acid composition of juvenile cockles (Cerastoderma edule) was investigated. Cockles of 6.24 ± 0.04 mm and 66.14 ± 0.34 mg (live weight) were distributed into three treatments where live microalgae diets were fed constantly below the pseudofaeces production threshold, for three weeks. Diets had distinct fatty acid profiles: high EPA (53% Chaetoceros muelleri + 47% Pyramimonas parkeae), no DHA (47% Brachiomonas submarina + 53% Tetraselmis suecica) and low ARA concentrations (73% P. parkeae + 27% Phaeodactylum tricornutum). Growth was positively affected by high EPA and low ARA diets, whereas no significant growth was observed for the no DHA diet. High mortality of cockles fed no DHA diet raises questions about its suitability for cockles. In balanced diets with EPA and DHA, lower concentrations of ARA do not limit growth. The impact of dietary fatty acids was evident in the fatty acids of neutral and polar lipids of cockles. In polar lipids of all cockles, there was a decrease in EPA, in contrast to an increase in DHA. The combination of EPA and DHA in a live microalgae diet was beneficial for the growth and survival of juvenile cockles.  相似文献

The composition of tail muscle fatty acids from wild and cultured bluefin tuna reared on a diet based on herring and sardine, along with the plasma lipid profile of the farmed individuals, was determined. The total lipid content of farmed bluefin in this study was 0.922 g/100 g or 3.49 g of saturated fatty acids (SAFA), 4.48 g of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA), 2.58 g polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) n‐3 and 0.37 g of PUFA n‐6 fatty acids; for wild specimens, it was 0.920 g/100 g, or 2.85 g of SAFA, 4.82 g of MUFA, 2.78 g PUFA n‐3 and 0.27 g of PUFA n‐6 fatty acids. The major fatty acids in this study were 16:0; 16:1, n‐7; 18:1, n‐9 and DHA 22:6, n‐3 acids. The sum of these major components accounted for more than 57% and 80% of the total fatty acids in all the samples of farmed and wild tuna respectively. No significant differences in the proximate composition were demonstrated between farmed and wild samples, except for the energy value, in favour of the farmed tuna. Statistically, glucose tends to increase together with cholesterol (CHOL) and plasma triglyceride, as for these pairs, it showed positive correlation coefficients and P>0.05. Some measured tuna metabolites demonstrated strong mutual correlations, especially GLU, CHOL and TRIG, which are crucial factors in the lipid profile of animals.  相似文献

Homogeneous background (age, sex, genetic lineage, culture conditions) was created to clearly demonstrate the impact of the tested dietary treatments. No feeds optimized for the rearing of the tench (Tinca tinca L. 1758) are available. Feeds are formulated to increase the growth rate or eliminate skeletal deformations. With the increasing prices of the basic components, fish meal (FM) and fish oil, poultry by‐product meal (PBM) can be used. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effects of substitution of FM with PBM on the tench blood parameters, body composition and structure of skeletal muscles. Cage‐reared female tenches (325 ± 18 g) were fed for 86 days with five types of feeds with 0% (control), 25.7%, 48.6%, 71.4% and 100% substitution of FM with PBM. No significant differences between the formulations were reported for weight, total length, fillet weight, visceral, liver, gonado‐somatic, proximate composition and biochemical blood parameters. However, significant differences were found in the fillet profiles of fatty acids—an increase in the PBM content correlated with an increase in saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids and a decrease in n‐3 PUFA and, generally, n‐6 PUFA. Significant differences were also observed in, for example, the content of intramuscular fatty tissue and the level of organ lipidosis between the control variant (0% PBM) and that with 100% substitution. A sensory assessment indicated a higher gustatory value of the fillets in the case of feeds with 48.6% and 71.4% substitution.  相似文献

This study determined the effect of different lipid sources on growth, feed use, lipid metabolism and antioxidant status of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus). Juvenile fish (56.9 ± 4.7 g) were divided into four triplicate groups and fed diets containing 30 g/Kg of fish oil (FO), olive oil (OO), peanut oil (PO) and linseed oil (LO), respectively, for 60 days. Weight gain and feed conversion ratio were not significantly different between the dietary groups, but we observed changes in the fatty acid composition of muscle and intraperitoneal fat reflecting the fatty acid profile of the dietary lipid source. In the hepatopancreas, the highest mRNA level of fatty acid translocase CD36 (FAT/CD36) and carnitine palmitoyl transferase (CPT‐1A) was both observed in the FO group. In muscle, the expression of FAT/CD36 and CPT‐1A in the LO group was significantly higher than that in other groups, except for CPT‐1A in the PO group. In addition, the lowest and highest content of malondialdehyde in serum was observed in OO and FO groups, respectively. In summary, dietary lipid source altered the fatty acid composition, potential uptake (FAT/CD36) and oxidation (CPT‐1A) of fatty acids, and antioxidant status of grass carp, which should be considered when selecting a lipid source.  相似文献

The effect conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) accumulation in fish fillet on sensory and texture attributes has been evaluated. Fish were fed diets with graded levels of CLA, which were administered for different durations prior to harvest. Fish were sampled for fillet proximate composition and fatty acid profile for sensory and texture parameters at the end of the trial. Growth performance, feed conversion ratio and muscle proximate composition were not affected by dietary treatments. Muscle fatty acid profile was not affected by dietary treatments despite the increase in saturated fatty acids in fish fed diet with 10 g kg−1 of CLA for 16 weeks before harvest. Besides, the deposition levels of CLA isomers increased gradually depending on the CLA treatment, reaching its maximum level in fish fed 10 g kg−1 CLA diet for 20 weeks before harvest. Fish fed 10 g kg−1 were juicier (P < 0.05) compared with control group, whereas fish fed 5 g kg−1 CLA diet were less (P < 0.05) chewy than fish fed control diet regarding sensory attributes. Texture parameters were not significantly affected by dietary CLA. These results suggest that market size European sea bass could successfully incorporate CLA isomers with some minor positive effects on sensory analyses.  相似文献

The European clam, Ruditapes decussatus is a species with high commercial importance in Portugal and other Southern European countries. However, the development of R. decussatus culture has been limited by the highly variable patterns of natural recruitment. The development of hatchery technology will provide an alternative source of spat. The effect of six nutritional regimes on the survival, growth and biochemical composition of R. decussatus larvae were evaluated, aiming to provide crucial information on its nutritional requirements. A holistic approach incorporating all physiological response showed that the bispecific diet I. aff galbana and C. calcitrans (60/40 cell μL?1) was the more adapted throughout larval development. Moreover, the monospecific diet I. aff galbana provided an overall good performance. Larvae cannot use C. calcitrans at early stages of development; however, the inclusion of these microalgae improved late larval development. The results obtained constitute an important first step in the hatchery R. decussatus larval nutrition and a prerequisite for future work on the improvement of larval development and the optimization of feeding practices that will maximize larvae yield and minimize cost in aquaculture hatcheries.  相似文献
