The influence of stocking density (1, 2, 4, 6 and 8 kg m?2) was investigated on haematological parameters, growth and fin erosion of great sturgeon (Huso huso) juveniles for a period of 8 weeks. The mean weight of fish at the start of trial was 93.13±1.04 g. After 8 weeks of rearing, the mean weight was 362.4, 319.7, 267, 242.1 and 211.1 in densities 1–8 kg m?2 respectively. The results of this study showed that growth parameters, including condition factor, weight, weight gain, feed conversion ratio, specific growth rate and body weight increase, had a statistically significant difference among treatments (P<0.05). A significant difference (P<0.05) was observed in haematocrit, but the other haematological parameters, including red blood cells, white blood cells (WBC), haemoglobin concentration, mean corpuscular haemoglobin, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration and differential WBC count, showed no significant effect with stocking density (P>0.05). At the end of the experiment, stocking density had no significant effect on plasma cortisol and glucose concentration. The fin length (dorsal, anal, ventral, pectoral and caudal) of fish was measured to calculate the fin index. According to this index, dorsal, anal, ventral and pectoral fins showed no significant difference among treatments (P>0.05), but the erosion of the caudal fin was significantly different between fish held on 6 and 8 kg m?2 (P<0.05). These results showed that rearing density has a major effect on the growth indices of H. huso. Unlike many other fish, great sturgeon exhibited lower stress responses to high stocking density. This indicates that they are more tolerable to rearing conditions in high stocking densities. With respect to the various effects that density causes on growth, fin erosion and physiological and haematological parameters, better understanding of these phenomena considering different levels of density could have a beneficial impact on many rearing steps of this species. 相似文献

Growth performance, carcass quality, survival and haematological responses were determined when Huso huso juvenile (41.7±1.8 g) fed diets containing Ergosan (an algal product) at 0, 2.0, 4.0 and 6.0 g kg−1 for 60 days. Each diet was fed to triplicate groups of fish at 10-day intervals (1–10, 20–30 and 40–50 with non-supplemented diets and 10–20, 30–40 and 50–60 with supplemented diets). Results showed that fish fed diets containing Ergosan had significantly higher growth than the control group ( P <0.05). Survival was not different among all dietary treatments ( P >0.05). Food conversion ratio in the fish fed a diet containing 4.0 and 6.0 g kg−1 Ergosan was significantly better than the other treatments ( P <0.05), whereas protein efficiency ratio was not different between experimental diets. Lymphocyte count in the fish fed diets containing Ergosan was higher than the other treatments. Haematocrit, haemoglobin (Hb) concentration, number of erythrocytes, total leucocytes, monocyte, eosinophil, myelocyte, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular haemoglobin and mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration were not different between treatments. Neutrophil count in the control group was higher than the fish fed supplemented diets. Furthermore, whole body lipid, moisture and fibre were not different among dietary treatments ( P >0.05) but body protein in the fish fed a diet containing Ergosan at the level of 2.0 and 4.0 g kg−1 was higher than the other treatments. Whole body ash content was higher in the control group. It was concluded that dietary administration of Ergosan can influence some growth and haematological parameters in great sturgeon, H. huso juveniles. 相似文献

In aquaculture practices, fish commonly confront environmental alterations and unavoidable stresses. Thus, any substance that could attenuate stress responses could be potentially used in aquaculture. A total number of 90 hybrid sturgeons (Huso huso ♂ × Acipenser ruthenus ♀) with an average weight of 212.6 ± 0.7 g were fed experimental diets containing 0, 50 and 100 mg kg?1 green tea (Camellia sinensis L) for 6 weeks. Subsequently 15 fish from each treatment were exposed to air for 5 min prior to transfer to the recovery tank. Followed by blood sampling after 1, 2, 5 and 12 h, Serum cortisol increased in all treatments, but the intensity was significantly lower in fish fed green tea compared to the control group. Similarly, the green tea diet attenuated the increase in serum levels of glucose and lactate in comparison to the control. Our results showed that green tea could be added to fish diet to attenuate stress responses in Sturgeon hybrid (Huso huso ♂ × Acipenser ruthenus ♀). 相似文献

An 8‐week feeding trial was conducted on juvenile beluga sturgeon Huso huso to evaluate the effects of different dietary lipid levels and sources on growth performance, physiological indices, proximate composition and fatty acid (FA) profile. Four practical diets, which had either low level (120 g/kg) of canola oil (LCO) and fish oil (LFO) or high level (240 g/kg) of canola oil (HCO) and fish oil (HFO), were fed to triplicate groups of 25 beluga (mean initial body weight 207 ± 0.5 g). The growth performance of beluga was improved by replacing dietary fish oil with canola oil and increasing dietary lipid level. Except the number of red blood cells, lymphocytes, neutrophils and eosinophils, the rest of haematological factors including the values of haemoglobin, haematocrit, number of white blood cells, mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration, cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations and the number of basophils and monocytes were not significantly affected by dietary lipid sources or levels. Results showed that both moisture and crude fat of the beluga muscle were affected by dietary lipid. The highest moisture and the lowest fat contents were found in the muscle of beluga fed fish oil (LFO). Moreover, the lowest moisture and the highest fat contents were observed in the muscle of beluga fed canola oil (HCO) (p < .05). The FA profile of the beluga muscle was significantly influenced by dietary treatments. The highest monounsaturated fatty acids, total n‐6 fatty acids containing linoleic acid and arachidonic acid, and total unsaturated fatty acids were found in fish fed canola oil (LCO and/or HCO) (p < .05). However, n‐3 fatty acids containing linolenic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid were not affected by the diet (p > .05). FA profile of the beluga muscles reflected the proportions of CO and FO in the diet except that there was a decrease in oleic acid and linolenic acid, but an increase in arachidonic acid (C20:4n‐6), eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid. The obtained data showed that canola oil is an excellent source of supplemental dietary lipid in a practical fish‐meal‐based diet of beluga sturgeon under the experimental conditions. Moreover, the data demonstrated that increasing dietary lipid up to 240 g/kg in beluga sturgeon resulted to improve growth performance and haematology. 相似文献

Effects of dietary ascorbic acid (AA) supplementation were carried out on growth performance and physiological indices in juvenile beluga Huso huso fed different levels of dietary L‐ascorbyl‐2‐polyphosphate as AA source consisting of 0 (control), 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600 mg AA kg?1 diet for 16 weeks. No significant differences were found in growth performances between treated groups except for condition factor. Using AA caused significant differences in haemoglobin, number of red blood cells, white blood cells, aspartate aminotranspherase and lactate dehydrogenase, while no significant difference was found in haematocrit, mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration, differential white blood cells count and alkaline phosphatase activity at the end of the experiment. Lysozyme activity after 8 weeks was significantly affected by dietary treatments with the lowest value in fish fed control diet, but not at completion of 16‐week feeding trial. Liver AA concentration showed a significant increase in correlation with dietary AA increase. Air exposure stress test showed significant differences among the treatments in case of cortisol and glucose concentrations. Also between pre‐ and post stress, significant changes were observed in some of treatments. The lowest and highest levels of cortisol were 9.2 ± 3 (in 200 mg kg?1) and 16.8 ± 5.1 ng mL?1 (in control), 6 h post stress (P < 0.05) respectively. Also, the lowest and highest levels of glucose were measured in fish fed 200 and 800 mg AA kg?1 respectively. The obtained results showed that most growth parameters were not affected by dietary AA, but some physiological and immunological parameters of this species were influenced by this vitamin. We suggest that under rearing conditions, AA should be added to the diet especially during early life stages for improving health status and resistance to stressors. 相似文献

An 8‐week study was applied to evaluate the effects of feed restriction and starvation on growth, proximate composition, haematological and biochemical factors in juvenile Siberian sturgeon Acipenser baerii with an average weight of 54 ± 0.6 g. Fish were randomly divided into nine indoor tanks (1,050 L volume) with 30 fish per tank in a flow‐through system at 18 ± 0.4°C. Three feeding strategies were considered: I) fed at satiation (F), II) restricted feeding at the rate of 1% body weight per day (R) and III) starvation (S) each with 3 replicates. Fish were fed with commercial pellets 4 times daily, but no feed was considered for S group throughout the trial. Basal level at the start, 4 and 8 weeks after initiation of the experiment, blood samples were taken from 5 fish/tank to measure the haematological and biochemical parameters. Moreover, growth performance was recorded every 2‐week interval. At the end of the experiment, the growth parameters and proximate composition were significantly different among the treatments. As expected, the highest weight (164.7 ± 2.1 g) was observed in F group compared to R (101 ± 1.7 g), or S (42.4 ± 0.8 g) groups. The highest (12.07 ± 0.14%) and lowest (5.37 ± 0.42%) fat contents were observed in F and S groups, respectively, while the protein was not affected in R group compared with F group. In addition, most haematological and biochemical indices of Siberian sturgeon were affected by starvation at week 4 and 8, while few changes were observed in restricted feeding. The highest mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular haemoglobin, plasma total protein, cholesterol and triglyceride was found in S group, while the lowest value of plasma glucose was observed in this group. It can be concluded that Siberian sturgeon adjusts the physiological condition in short‐term (4 weeks) feed restriction using stored metabolites to have basal metabolism and due to this, a short period of feed restriction strategy recommends to the optimum nutritional management of Siberian sturgeon to cost‐saving during unsuitable conditions. 相似文献

Histidine plays an important role in haemoglobin synthesis, antioxidant defence system and stress resistance, and it is thought to be a limiting amino acid in most meagre diets. In this study, two different diets, a control and a diet supplemented with 3% histidine, were tested in 60‐day‐old meagre (initial weight—6.2 g) for 82 days. Survival varied between 92% and 94%, and neither SGR nor whole fish composition seemed to be affected by the diet. When fish were submitted to a stress test (outside water for 30 s), it was observed that the levels of glucose and lactate significantly increased in both treatments. The concentration of cortisol increased after the stress test only in the His 30 g/kg group. Muscle cellularity was affected by the diets, where the control group showed a higher mean fibre area and lower fibre density. These results, associated with a lower frequency of smaller fibres, suggest a decrease in fibre recruitment and a higher fibre hypertrophy. In conclusion, the supplementation of diets with 3% led to a more pronounced response to the stress test in terms of cortisol levels and increased muscle fibre recruitment, decreasing muscle fibre hypertrophy contribution to muscle growth. 相似文献

The aims of this study was to assess the effect of two lactic acid bacteria (LAB), Lactobacillus curvatus and Leuconostoc mesenteroides, originally isolated from gastrointestinal (GI) tract of beluga (Huso huso) and Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus), respectively, on growth, survival and digestive enzyme (amylase, lipase and protease) activities and the population level of LAB in the GI tract. The treatments included 10 different groups; control, separate supplements of L. curvatus and Leu. mesenteroides at three different counts [2 × 109, 5 × 109 and 9 × 109 colony forming units (CFU) per gram food] and three combinations of the two LAB (2 × 109 + 2 × 109, 5 × 109 + 5 × 109 and 9 × 109 + 9 × 109 CFU per gram food). The bacteria used in this study were added in lyophilized form to chopped Chironomidae. In the beluga study, highest specific growth rate, survival and improved intestinal enzyme activities were noted in the rearing group fed 9 × 109 L. curvatus per gram food. In Persian sturgeon, the inclusion level of 2 × 109 Leu. mesenteroides had similar positive effect. The ability of LAB to colonize the digestive tract seems to involve host specificity, and our bacteriological results are relevant to initiate future probiotic studies in sturgeons and future directions will be discussed. 相似文献

Effect of different levels (0%, 0.15%, 0.25%, 0.35% and 0.50%) of Optimûn, a commercial nucleotide (NT) product, on the growth performance, body composition and fatty acid profile of juvenile Beluga sturgeon (Huso huso) (12.57 ± 0.5 g) was investigated over a 62‐day period. This experiment was done in fifteen 600 L tanks, each stocked with 30 fish. Fish fed nucleotide showed significantly better growth performance (P < 0.05). Incorporation of 0.25% and 0.35% NT resulted in whole body protein content elevation, but the other proximate composition indices were not influenced by dietary nucleotide treatments. There were significant differences in saturated fatty acids (SFA) and total unsaturated fatty acids (TUFA) levels among fish fed on different experimental diets, while monounsaturated fatty acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), n‐3 PUFA, n‐6 PUFA, n3/n6 and eicosapentaenoic acid + docosahexaenoic acid were not influenced by NT. The results showed that diet supplementation with 0.35% Optimûn (NT) enhance growth performance, also administration of 0.25% and 0.35% affected chemical composition, as well as decreased SFA/TUFA ratio of Beluga juvenile. 相似文献

A 12‐week feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the optimum dietary inorganic copper (copper sulphate) in juvenile beluga, Huso huso. Eight semi‐purified diets containing 1.1 (Cu1.0), 3.5 (Cu4.0), 7.1 (Cu7.0), 9.7 (Cu10), 13.1 (Cu13), 25.1 (Cu25), 49.9 (Cu50) and 195 (Cu195) mg Cu kg?1 diet in the form of CuSO4.5H2O were fed to fish of initial body weight 8.49 ± 0.32 g and length 11.85 ± 0.66 cm (mean ± SD) in triplicate groups in a flow‐through system. Weight gain (WG) of fish fed Cu10 and Cu13 diets was significantly higher than that of fish fed Cu1.0, Cu4.0, Cu25, Cu50 and Cu195 diets (P < 0.05). Whole‐body and muscle crude protein increased with dietary Cu up to the supplementation level of 13.1 mg kg?1 diet and then decreased. Whole‐body lipid content was negatively correlated, while whole‐body ash was positively correlated with dietary copper concentration. Hepatic copper–zinc superoxide dismutase activity of fish fed Cu10 and Cu13 diets was significantly higher than that of fish fed Cu1.0, Cu4.0 and Cu195 diets. Hepatic thiobarbituric acid‐reactive substances of fish fed Cu13 diet was significantly lower than those of fish fed the other diets except for that of fish fed Cu10 diet. Aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase and copper accumulation in tissues increased with dietary copper. Broken‐line analysis of WG suggested that the optimum dietary Cu level was 10.3 mg Cu kg?1 diet. Therefore, these results may indicate that the optimum dietary Cu levels could be greater than 10.3 mg Cu kg?1 diet but less than 13.1 mg Cu kg?1 diet in juvenile beluga, when copper sulphate is used as the dietary source of inorganic copper. 相似文献

The effects of enzyme supplementation on growth, body proximate, and fatty acid composition of great sturgeon Huso huso fingerlings were investigated. Multienzyme (Kemin?) was added to diet in different concentrations (0, 250, 500, 750, and 1,000 mg/kg). Fingerlings were randomly stocked in
tanks and fed with the experimental diets three times a day at 5–10% body weight for 46 days. Fingerlings fed diets containing
250 mg/kg exogenous enzyme exhibited higher weight gain and specific growth rate. This level of enzyme in the diet significantly
improved feed conversion ratio. Body protein and moisture decreased slightly when fish fed with enzyme-supplemented diets
while fat increased. Fingerlings fed with 500 mg/kg enzyme in diet had higher contents of n-3 essential fatty acids and lower
n-6/n-3 fatty acid ratio. Optimum growth performance in great sturgeon fingerlings can be obtained by 250 mg/kg multienzyme
in the diet. 相似文献

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of fish oil replacement with dietary vegetable oils on growth performance, chemical composition and fatty acids profiles in fillets of farmed Caspian great sturgeon juveniles Huso huso (26.97 ± 0.49 g). Five isonitrogenous and isolipidic diets were formulated, containing 10 % of added oil. The diet with 100 % kilka fish oil (Caspian tyulka, Clupeonella caspia) was the control. Fish oil was substituted by 50 % of vegetable oils consisting of an equal share of sunflower and soybean oils (diet A), sunflower and canola oils (diet B) and soybean and canola oils (diet C). In diet D, 100 % of fish oil was replaced with vegetable oil (1:1:1 ratio of sunflower oil, soybean oil and canola oil). Significant differences (P > 0.05) were not detected during 60 days feeding trial in final body weight, weight gain, condition factor, specific growth rate, feed conversion rate, protein efficiency ratio and the chemical composition of fillet (crude protein, crude lipid, moisture and ash). Generally, the fatty acids composition of fish fillets was reflective of the dietary lipid sources. These results indicate the feasibility of substituting fish oils with the mixture of vegetable oils in diets of juvenile H. huso without negative influence on growth providing optimum ratios of n-3/n-6 and n-3/18:1n-9 is met in the diet. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate a suitable packing density for the transport of juvenile dusky grouper, Epinephelus marginatus, based on the evaluation of stress responses in blood. After acclimation, fish were placed in plastic bags and transported for 8 hr on paved road at densities of 28, 45 and 64 g/L. Water quality was monitored before and after transport. Blood was collected before, upon arrival (0 hr), after 2 and 24 hr of transport. Plasma cortisol, blood glucose, partial pressures of O2 (pO2) and CO2 (pCO2), blood pH and HCO3? were evaluated. Blood smears were prepared for the verification of leucocyte profile and neutrophils:lymphocyte ratio (N:L). Blood pCO2, pH and HCO3? increased significantly after transport for all treatments compared with pre‐transport. Glucose levels increased at the higher density whereas no effects were observed on plasma cortisol and pO2 levels. Upon arrival, all treatments showed lymphopenia and neutrophilia which increased N:L ratio. Although lymphopenia was observed in higher densities until 2 hr after transport, haematological parameters were fully restored within 24 hr post transport. Furthermore, no mortalities were observed throughout the experimental period. Based on the transient physiological changes observed in this study, juvenile dusky grouper can be safely transported in plastic bags for 8 hr at a density of up to 64 g/L. 相似文献

In order to determine the chelating effect of activated charcoal, a total of 150 beluga (270 g) were fed for 60 days with a diet containing 0 (control), 5, 10, 15 and 20 g activated charcoal per kg. Afterwards, the fish were subjected to challenging with 1 mg/L of each of heavy metals including lead, cadmium and copper during seven days. As results, the highest percentage of body weight gain, specific growth rate, condition factor, protein efficiency ratio and the lowest feed conversion ratio before and after challenging with heavy metals were obtained in 15 g treatment with significant differences comparing to other treatment (p < .05). In all treatments, considerable differences were observed between two experimental stages of all parameters except condition factor and feed conversion ratio (p < .05). No mortalities were observed during the experiment. Before challenging with heavy metals, 15 g treatment showed the lowest activities of AST and ALT enzymes, and uric acid, protein, albumin and cholesterol amounts. The minimum amounts of creatinine and glucose were recorded in the control and 20 g treatments respectively. The highest levels of these parameters, except for creatinine and uric acid, were measured in the control group. After challenging with heavy metals, the lowest levels of AST and ALT enzyme activities, uric acid, creatinine, and glucose, and the highest amounts of protein, albumin and cholesterol belonged to 15 g, whereas the results in the control group were almost opposite. In all treatments, significant differences were observed between two experimental stages of all parameters except AST, uric acid, glucose and cholesterol (p < .05). In the pre‐challenge stage, the maximum amount of carcass protein was observed in 15 g while the differences in lipid content were not significant (p > .05). Moreover, the highest contents of moisture and ash were measured in the control group and 20 g respectively. After the challenge, the highest values of protein and lipid were quantified in 15 g, while the maximum values of ash and moisture were observed in 20 g and control group respectively. Also, significant differences were observed just in ash and moisture amounts in both stages (p < .05). Accumulations of cadmium, copper and lead were maximal in the control group in both stages, and their amount were decreased in sample with 15 g of activated charcoal until they reached to their lowest value in sample with 20 g of activated charcoal. The only different parameter between two treatments was copper amount. Also, significant differences were observed in all treatments in both stages (p < .05). Although activated charcoal at 20 g/kg diet yielded the best results in metal chelation, it is recommended to add 15 g/kg of activated charcoal to the diet of beluga because of other parameters. 相似文献

An investigation was accomplished to find the effects of different sizes as a social stress on physiological responses and growth performance of Siberian sturgeon. Juvenile Siberian sturgeon were separated into two sizes (860.88 ± 22.32 g as larger fish and 427.28 ± 2.97 g as smaller fish). Three treatments including large size (L), small size (S), and mixed size (M) were considered. There were equal numbers of large and small fish in the M treatment. Sampling was carried out at 1st week (as a short‐term sampling) and 8th week (as a long‐term sampling) of the experiment. At the end of each sampling, haematocrit, glucose, cholesterol, triglyceride, total protein, lactate, and cortisol were measured. All growth parameters and feed utilization in large fish were not affected in the M treatment compared with the L treatment and also small fish in the M treatment compared with the S treatment. The final biomass in the S treatment was significantly higher than those in the L and M treatments. Haematocrit, glucose, cholesterol, triglyceride, total protein, lactate, and cortisol in the 1st week showed no significant difference with different sizes. However, in the 8th week, only haematocrit increased (by time not size) in the S treatment. Fish in the M treatment in both sizes did not experience the stress condition. Larger and smaller sizes had a positive social interaction; therefore, different sizes of Siberian sturgeon can maintain together without decreasing growth rate and also adverse physiological responses. 相似文献

This study is to evaluate the impacts of two levels of fat on the fish growth, feed intake, and compositions of muscle, liver, and viscera on the juvenile Huso huso. There were four treatments: two experimental diets (high-fat: 30% and low-fat: 15%) and two feeding levels (100 or 60% of satiation). The treatments were assigned to 16 tanks each with 15 fish, with four replicates for each treatment. Beluga sturgeon juveniles with an initial weight of 61.3?±?4.4?g were reared for 3?months. Increasing fat content of the diets resulted in an increased final weight (621.8 vs. 467.5?g for high-fat and low-fat diets, respectively, at 100% feeding level; p?<?0.01), but had no impact on feed conversion rate (FCR; p?>?0.05). Total feed intake was increased by the use of high-fat diet (487.8 vs. 365.0?g for high-fat and low-fat diets, respectively, at 100% feeding level; p?<?0.01). Results also showed no interactions between fat level of the diets and feeding level in final weight and FCR. Beluga sturgeon muscle and liver fed high-fat diets contained higher fat than those fed low-fat diets (186.5 and 329.6 vs. 144.1 and 261.9?g?kg?1 for high-fat and low-fat diets, respectively, at 100% feeding level; p?<?0.01), and feeding levels did not change protein content of the examined organs. In conclusion, beluga sturgeon shows an enhanced growth on high-fat diet, and feed intake does not reduce by the use of high-fat diets. 相似文献

Physiological parameters and growth performance of Huso huso fingerlings fed with diet supplemented with herbal plants were studied in this study. Dietary treatments were 0 g (= control), 1.0 g (garlic) and 1.0 g (ginger) of 100 g?1 feed for 60 days. Specific growth rate, body weight gain and condition factor were significantly increased in ginger treatment at the end of the trial. Highest levels of erythrocyte and hematocrit were observed in fingerlings ginger group after 60 days. Globulin increased significantly in ginger group, and the highest level of albumin was observed in garlic group. To sum up, it seems that herbal diet can improve some growth and physiological parameters in this species. 相似文献

Effects of dietary levels of protein on growth, feed utilization and physiological parameters for juvenile Dabry's sturgeon,Acipenser dabryanus 下载免费PDF全文
Five semi‐purified diets were formulated to contain graded levels of dietary protein (340, 390, 440, 490 and 540 g/kg diet), and each diet was assigned to triplicate groups of eight juvenile Dabry's sturgeon for 50 days. Results showed that specific growth rate increased linearly with increasing dietary protein levels from 340 to 440 g/kg diet, then levelled off at higher protein levels. Higher dietary protein (440 and 540 g/kg) significantly increased the feed intake and feed efficiency ratio of fish compared to lower protein diets (340 to 490 g/kg diet) (p < .05). Fish fed a 440 g protein kg?1 diet had higher protein efficiency ratio and serum lysozyme activity than other treatments. Serum ammonia content and activities of liver aminotransferase were positively correlated with dietary protein levels. No significant difference (p > .05) among groups was observed in glycogen content. As dietary protein level increased, protein and ash content of fish dorsal muscle were greatly enhanced, whereas lipid content was significantly reduced (p < .05). Based on broken‐line regression analysis of SGR against dietary protein levels, the optimum dietary protein level for maximal growth of juvenile Dabry's sturgeon is 446.68 g/kg diet. 相似文献
