To evaluate the estrogenic potential of secoisolariciresinol diglycoside (SDG) found in linseed meal (LSM) on visceral organ mass, IGF-I, and thyroid hormone (T3 and T4) concentrations, 48 multiparous, ovariectomized ewes (54.6 ± 1.1 kg) were used in a 3 × 4 factorial arrangement. Main effects were length of LSM feeding (0, 1, 7, or 14 d) and length of exposure to estradiol-17β (E2) implant (0, 6, or 24 h prior to tissue collection). Implanting ewes with E2 for 24 h increased liver mass relative to empty body weight (EBW; g/kg EBW) compared with ewes implanted for 0 or 6 h (P ≤ 0.03), whereas feeding LSM for 14 d decreased liver mass compared with ewes fed LSM for 1 or 7 d (P ≤ 0.02). There was an LSM × E2 interaction (P = 0.01) for duodenal mass (g/kg EBW), LSM, and E2 tended (P = 0.07) to influence the stomach complex mass; however, ileal mass was not affected. Neither LSM nor E2 affected (P ≥ 0.12) CYP2C or CYP3A mRNA expression or cellularity of the liver. Exogenous E2 influenced circulating concentrations of IGF-I, T3, and T4. The estrogenic or anti-estrogenic potential of LSM is dependent upon the tissue, exposure to E2, and the duration of LSM feeding. Feeding LSM during gestation, lactation, or during the grow-finish phase warrants further investigation.  相似文献

The effects were evaluated of the inclusion of full fat linseed (125 g/kg) (LS) or linseed expeller meal (85 g/kg) (LSM) in diets for weaned piglets on growth performance and parameters of gut health and function. The diets were fed to groups of 12 post weaning single housed piglets. Three of the five treatments (Control (C)+, LS+, LSM+) were challenged with an enterotoxigenic strain of E. coli on day 6. Two treatments were not challenged (C− and LS−). The main response criteria were daily feed intake, body weight gain, faecal shedding of the E. coli, faecal consistency score, faecal nutrient digestibility and gut wall morphology and histology of the jejunal mucosa on day 18/19 of the study. Over the total experimental period (day 0–18) feed intake and body weight gain were highest in treatment C− and lowest in treatment LSM+ (P < 0.05). Feed conversion ratio did not differ between treatments over the total experimental period. Over day 10–12 of the study, the faecal digestibility of dry matter, ash and energy was higher for treatments C− and C+ compared to treatments LS−, LS+ and LSM+ (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the faecal shedding of E. coli between treatments C+, LS+ and LSM+. Intestinal mucosal histology and morphology were only slightly affected by the dietary treatments. It was concluded that the use of full fat linseed or linseed expeller meal did not show to be functional ingredients in diets for post-weaning piglet in terms of supporting gut health.  相似文献

Linseed as a feed ingredient contains a number of constituents, such as mucilage, gel forming polysaccharides, structural carbohydrates and ω-3 fatty acids, which could have functional properties in relation to maintaining and supporting gastro-intestinal health in post weaning piglets. Intestinal gene expression was studied in weanling piglets fed diets containing either or not linseed or linseed expeller meal. Piglets were either or not orally challenged with an enterotoxigenic strain of E. coli K88. Pairwise comparisons identified several mRNAs expressed significantly different, in particular between treatments C− (control, not challenged) and LS− (linseed, not challenged) and LS+ (linseed, challenged) and LSM+ (linseed expeller meal, challenged). The intestinal micro-array technique is a promising tool to study the relationship between nutrition and feeding and gut tissue responses under defined conditions.  相似文献

Reproduction can alter the course of ovine nematodiasis; fecal nematode egg concentrations often increase near lambing and throughout lactation, a phenomenon referred to as the periparturient rise. To identify the host mechanisms that might link these disparate events, i.e. lactation and the fecundity of gastrointestinal trichostrongyles, ovariectomized ewes were injected daily with progesterone and/or prolactin, or saline. Progesterone treatment commenced 20 days before inoculation with Haemonchus contortus and prolactin was administered throughout the 30-day infection period. Ovariectomized ewes receiving prolactin during the experimental infection maintained higher daily fecal egg concentrations than the progesterone, progesterone/prolactin, or the control treatment groups. However, ovariectomized ewes that received 20 days of pre-inoculation exposure to progesterone, as well as prolactin during the infection, had greater numbers of nematodes that were larger than the other treatment groups. Thus, the sequential delivery of these hormones that are associated with the reproductive cycle in ewes produced some of the same results that occur during periparturient rise.  相似文献

本试验旨在研究植物甾醇对去卵巢小鼠血清激素及乳腺组织中孕激素受体的影响。50只雌性小鼠,随机选40只进行去卵巢手术,恢复7 d。分组如下:正常组、去卵巢对照组、植物甾醇低、中、高3个剂量组(每日灌胃20、80和320 mg/kg植物甾醇)。连续灌胃3周,第22天采集血样和乳腺组织,对小鼠血清中的雌二醇、孕酮和催乳素水平进行检测,对乳腺组织的孕激素受体基因表达进行荧光定量检测。结果表明,去卵巢对照组小鼠雌二醇水平显著低于正常组(P〈0.05)。植物甾醇组小鼠血清雌二醇水平持续升高,其中,高剂量组小鼠血清雌二醇水平与正常组最接近;与去卵巢对照组相比,去卵巢植物甾醇组小鼠血清孕酮水平均有提高,但差异不显著(P〉0.05);与去卵巢对照组相比,去卵巢植物甾醇组小鼠催乳素水平先下降后上升,但他们之间无显著差异(P〉0.05)。与去卵巢对照组相比,植物甾醇各剂量组小鼠孕激素受体基因相对表达量呈上升趋势,低、中、高剂量组小鼠孕激素受体基因相对表达量分别是去卵巢对照组的1.05、1.13和2.78倍。植物甾醇可改善去卵巢小鼠内源激素不平衡的状况,促进乳腺组织PR基因的表达。  相似文献

The effect of meal size and frequency on plasma volume, plasma aldosterone concentration and urinary Na and K clearances was determined in ponies. A daily maintenance ration of hay-grain pellets was provided either as a multiple feeding regimen, ie, 12 equal portions fed at 2-hour intervals, or as single large feedings, ie, half the ration fed every 12 hours at 0800 and 2000 hours. Only the effect of the single morning feeding was studied, using the latter regimen. Serial measurements of plasma volume were made by use of an indicator-dilution technique and indocyanine green (0.15 mg/kg of body weight, IV) that allowed repeated determinations at 2-hour intervals. Ingestion of the single large meal caused a 15% decrease in plasma volume by the end of a 1-hour feeding period. Feeding hypovolemia was confirmed by a coincident increase in plasma protein concentration (12%) and, in separate experiments, by analysis of postfeeding changes in the elimination of Evans blue dye. Plasma aldosterone concentration was significantly (P less than 0.05) increased from 2 to 5 hours after feeding. Urinary Na clearance decreased in response to feeding and remained lower than the prefeeding value until 9 hours after feeding. Urinary K clearance increased from prefeeding and reached a peak value between 5 and 7 hours after feeding. Creatinine clearance was unaffected. In contrast, the aforementioned variables were unchanged during the multiple regimen. Results indicate that ingestion of a large concentrate meal by ponies causes periprandial hypovolemia, activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, and a subsequent antinatriuresis-kaliuresis that lasts for several hours.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to compare the influence of a high α-linolenic acid (ALA) diet (linseed diet) and a high linoleic acid (LA) diet (sunflower diet) on performances of pigs, on the dietetical quality of their tissues (adipose tissues and muscles), and on the lipogenic potential of these tissues. Growth and carcass performances, and the lipid content of the tissues were not affected by the diet. Feeding the linseed diet increased the content of n-3 PUFA and decreased the LA/ALA ratios in all the tissues, while the sunflower diet led to an increase in the n-6 PUFA contents. Neither the stearoyl-CoA-desaturase and glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase activities nor the β-hydroxyacyl-CoA-dehydrogenase activity were affected by the diet. Acetyl-CoA-carboxylase and fatty acid synthase activities were enhanced with the linseed diet in respectively subcutaneous adipose tissue and intermuscular adipose tissue, while malic enzyme activity was decreased in liver and subcutaneous adipose tissue of pigs fed the linseed diet.  相似文献

利用孕酮栓+PMSG+PG法对大群体羊进行同期发情处理,比较不同季节、地区、埋栓时间及品种对同期发情效果的影响。结果表明:该方法在春季、秋季和冬季对山羊均可获得较好的同期发情效果,并且发情时间主要集中于处理结束后的0~24 h和25~48 h;对于山区及平原的山羊,0—24 h及25—48 h同期率差异不显著(P>0.05);埋栓时间长短对于山羊在0—24 h、25~48 h及0~72 h的同期率差异均不显著(P>0.05);绵羊同期效果显著低于山羊(P<0.05)。  相似文献

This study was conducted to determine the comparative efficacy of partial fish meal (FM) replacement (up to 50%) with fermented soybean meal (FSBM; SoELAB, PepSoyGen and Soytide) or enzymatically prepared SBM (HP 300) on growth performance, nutrient digestibility and fecal microflora in weaned pigs. A total of 100 weaned pigs (body weight 6.59 ± 0.29 kg) were used in experimental feeding trials, lasting for up to 6 weeks, and were randomly allotted to five groups with four block replicates of five pigs per pen serving as one block. Dietary treatments were as follows: (i) 100% FM, (ii) 50% FM + 50% SoELAB‐54, (iii) 50% FM + 50% PepSoyGen, (iv) 50% FM + 50% Soytide and (v) 50% FM + 50% HP 300. Concerning growth performance, none of the treated SBM preparations demonstrated any significantly different effect compared with FM treatment. With respect to nutrient digestibility, SoELAB and HP 300 treatments demonstrated no significant difference compared with FM treatment. Lastly, none of the SBM preparations demonstrated any significant differences in animal fecal score and all of the differentially treated SBM increased fecal Lactobacillus counts, while maintaining similar Escherichia coli counts compared with FM treatment.  相似文献

试验旨在研究血粉替代部分鱼粉对草鱼生长及肌肉营养成分的影响。以含鱼粉12%日粮为对照组,以血粉分别替代对照组饲料中25%、50%和75%的鱼粉,配制3种试验饲料,投喂平均体质量194.0 g的草鱼64 d。结果表明,各试验组草鱼摄食量下降,增重率显著低于对照组(P<0.05),但25%血粉替代组草鱼饲料系数、肝体比、脏体比、肌肉粗脂肪的含量与对照组无显著性差异(P>0.05),而50%和75%血粉替代组的饲料系数、肌肉粗脂肪明显升高;与对照组相比较,各血粉替代组的粗蛋白含量、粗灰分含量、必需氨基酸总量和鲜味氨基酸总量均无显著性差异(P>0.05)。综合分析表明,血粉代替草鱼日粮中鱼粉的量为25%时,可以获得较好的效果。  相似文献

Two hundred eighteen ewes were used in experiments 1) to develop a progesterone supplementation regimen capable of sustaining serum concentrations of progesterone at about 2.0 ng/ml for a period of 50 d (Exp. 1) and 2) to determine the effects of progesterone supplementation (d 6 to 50 after mating) on pregnancy and embryo survival rates in mated ewes (Exp. 2). In ovariectomized ewes in Exp. 1, s.c. administration of four cylindrical (9.5 x 60 mm) silastic implants, containing 20% (1.1 g) progesterone by weight, sustained mean serum concentrations of progesterone of 1.9 +/- .07 ng/ml compared with 1.03 +/- .05 ng/ml in ewes bearing two implants. In Exp. 2 each ewe (n = 159) was mated to two fertile rams at a spontaneous estrus (d 0) during mid-breeding season. Mean ovulation rate, determined on a subgroup of 46 ewes, was 1.45 +/- .05. On d 6, ewes were assigned randomly to control (two implants containing no progesterone) or progesterone-treated (four implants similar to those used in Exp. 1) groups. From d 7 to 50 after mating, progesterone concentrations in serum were greater (P less than .001) in progesterone-treated (four implants similar to those used in Exp. 1) groups. From d 7 to 50 after mating, progesterone concentrations in serum were greater (P less than .001) in progesterone-treated (3.50 +/- .06) than in control (2.65 +/- .05) ewes. 文章旨在评估分别以椰子粕、棕榈粕和木薯为主的日粮对生长猪磷表观消化率的影响。试验将平均体重为(40.2±0.58)kg的24头公猪随机分为4组,每组3个重复,每个重复2头猪。其中1组是日粮以玉米淀粉、蔗糖和明胶为主要原料的无磷日粮,测定了磷的基础内源损失,其他组日粮中含有40%的椰子粕、棕榈粕或木薯。试验共进行21 d,包括3个周期,每个周期分为3 d适应期,4 d样品采集期。结果:化学成分结果显示,椰子粕和棕榈粕的粗蛋白质、粗脂肪、粗纤维、中性洗涤纤维和酸性洗涤纤维含量大于木薯,而同时椰子粕和棕榈粕总磷含量也高于木薯,但钙含量低于木薯。椰子粕和棕榈粕磷表观消化率较木薯日粮显著提高了228.57%和183.57%(P<0.05),而棕榈粕组钙表观消化率较椰子粕组显著提高了107.07%(P<0.05)。棕榈粕组钙摄入量较椰子粕和木薯组分别显著提高了144.17%和71.09%(P<0.05),棕榈粕组粪排泄量最多(P<0.05),而椰子粕和棕榈粕组粪磷占比最高(P<0.05),棕榈粕组每天粪磷排泄量较木薯组显著提高206.25%(P<0.05)。结论:椰子粕和棕榈粕总磷消化率显著高于木薯,但标准磷表观消化率无显著差异。因此,在低磷原料中用标准磷表示可消化磷较总磷更准确。  相似文献

Meat and bone meal (MBM), a type of protein feed source, with high nutritional value, has been widely used as feed in China. In order to study the effect of defatting on the quality of MBM, MBM were defatted by hexane, and their basic nutritional components, color, flavor, protein characteristics, freshness indexes before and after defatting, were investigated. The crude protein content of the defatted MBM was increased from 54.5% to 61.2%, lysine content increased from 1.83 to 1.96%, pure protein content and in vitro digestibility of MBM were increased to 50.7% and 90.45%, respectively. Acid value decreased from 9.0 to 2.6 mg potassium hydroxide/g, and the color and flavor were also improved after defatting. Furthermore, volatile basic nitrogen content decreased from 60 to 40 mg/100 g and histamine content did not change significantly (decreasing from 20.1 to 19.6 mg/kg). Therefore, defatting treatment was good for the quality improvement of MBM.  相似文献
