The present work is focused on evaluating the suitability of recycling postconsumer agricultural plastic films again for the same use. The criteria to assess the suitability was based on migration study. Both overall and specific migration tests were performed, and the results obtained (ranging from 0.14 to 1.27 mg/dm(2) for overall migration and from not detectable to 6.98 microg/dm(2) for specific migration) show how, from this point of view, the recycled material can be safely proposed to be used again as agricultural soil covers. A theoretical discussion about the migration process is also presented and a simple mathematical model was applied to the data obtained, showing how total migration which is experimentally detected is theoretically predictable. These conclusions found were used to design and develop a controlled crop of tomato by using this recycled film. The use of the recycled plastic in the whole process and the behavior and properties of the pesticides absorbed in the postconsumer film are discussed.  相似文献

The feasibility of novel controlled release systems for the delivery of active substances from films intended for food packaging was investigated. Because polyolefins are used highly for food-packaging applications, the reported high retention degree of antioxidants has limited their use for active packaging. Thus, in this study, PP films modified with different chain extenders have been developed to favor and control the release rates of the low molecular weight antioxidant tocopherol. The use of different chain extenders as polymer modifiers (PE-PEG M(w), 575; and PPG-PEG-PPG M(w), 2000) has caused significant changes in tocopherol-specific release properties. High-performance liquid chromatography coupled to PDA-FL and PDA-MS was used to test tocopherol and chain extender migration, respectively. The release of tocopherol from the prepared films with two chain extenders into two food simulants was studied. Different temperatures and storage times were also tested. Varying the structural features of the films with the incorporation of different levels of PPG-PEG-PPG, the release of tocopherol (food-packaging additive) into different ethanolic simulants could be clearly controlled. The effect of the temperature and storage time on the release of the antioxidant has been outstanding as their values increased. The migration of the chain extender, also tested, was well below the limits set by European legislation.  相似文献

Soil samples collected from 32 sites across Israel representing major types were analyzed for their pedological characteristics and mechanical properties. Correlative relationships between shrinkage (measured by the coefficient of linear extensibility, COLE), Atterberg limits (liquid and plastic) and the physical and chemical properties were established and indicate possibilities of estimating mechanical properties from known pedological data. Strong correlations were noted between mechanical properties and the pedological characteristics reflecting clay mineralogy and texture, e.g. cation-exchange capacity, specific surface area, hygroscopic moisture and clay content. These relationships are useful inasmuch as clay mineralogy is usually evident from soil classification. Sodicity and salinity, common in dry soils of semi-arid regions, may introduce complicating factors such as raising or lowering Atterberg limits, respectively. Shrinkage is similarly affected being accentuated at high-sodium, low-salt levels and reduced in highly saline-sodic soils. Organic matter was correlated with liquid and plastic limits, but no relationship with shrinkage was noted. Calcium carbonate also had little influence on Atterberg limits.The relationships presented may serve as first approximations. Mechanical properties of the soil groups illustrate the range of values encountered among regions with differing environmental conditions.  相似文献

Microwave heating of commercial microwavable polypropylene packaging in contact with fatty food simulants caused significant antioxidant degradation and increased specific migration as shown by electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Degradation of the antioxidants Irgafos 168 and Irganox 1010 was not detected during conventional heating of polypropylene packaging at the same temperature. The migration into aqueous food simulants was primarily restricted by the water solubility of the migrants. Using isooctane as fatty food simulant caused significant swelling and greatly enhanced overall migration values compared to the other fatty food simulant, 99.9% ethanol, or the aqueous food simulants 10% ethanol, 3% acetic acid, or water. ESI-MS spectra clearly reflected the overall migration values, and the number and amount of compounds detected decreased as the hydrophilicity of the food simulant increased. ESI-MS was shown to be an excellent tool for the analysis of semivolatile migrants and a good complement to GC-MS analysis of volatile migrants.  相似文献

Bacteriological and physico-chemical parameters of 265 samples from 39 brands sold in 5-gallon plastic and glass bottles and 2-5 L plastic containers were analyzed to determine the quality of bottled water distributed in Mexico City. Tests included fecal and total coliform counts, alkalinity, total hardness, chloride, calcium and magnesium concentrations, pH and conductivity. Correlation and cluster analyses and ANOVA were carried out, and a comparison made of the averages with the maximum permissible levels established in the Official Mexican Norms. Concerning the investigated parameters no differences (p > 0.05) between the brands were found. Physico-chemical parameters were studied and all the samples were within the permissible limits. Most samples taken from the 5-gallon containers exceeded the maximum bacteriological limits. It was concluded that the bacteriological quality of the brands studied was extremely variable. Appropriate sanitary measures, should be established to control this aspect.  相似文献

覆膜灌溉是在覆膜种植基础上进行灌溉的一种新型地面灌溉技术,具有显著的节水、增产效果。由于地膜覆盖对田面水流运动规律有着显著的影响,所以为了提高灌水均匀度和灌水效率,需要对覆膜灌溉的灌水技术参数进行专门研究。该文结合对灌溉地表水流运动的数值模拟,以灌水均匀度最高为目标函数,考虑灌水定额、田面水深、单宽流量、地膜开孔率等约束条件,建立了覆膜灌溉的灌水技术要素优化模型,并利用在新疆乌兰乌苏棉花田所进行的试验结果,通过计算得到了覆膜灌溉的最优灌水技术方案。  相似文献

The antioxidant activity of berry phenolics (at concentrations of 1.4, 4.2, and 8.4 mug of purified extracts/mL of liposome sample) such as anthocyanins, ellagitannins, and proanthocyanidins from raspberry (Rubus idaeus), bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), lingonberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea), and black currant (Ribes nigrum) was investigated in a lactalbumin-liposome system. The extent of protein oxidation was measured by determining the loss of tryptophan fluorescence and formation of protein carbonyl compounds and that of lipid oxidation by conjugated diene hydroperoxides and hexanal analyses. The antioxidant protection toward lipid oxidation was best provided by lingonberry and bilberry phenolics followed by black currant and raspberry phenolics. Bilberry and raspberry phenolics exhibited the best overall antioxidant activity toward protein oxidation. Proanthocyanidins, especially the dimeric and trimeric forms, in lingonberries were among the most active phenolic constituents toward both lipid and protein oxidation. In bilberries and black currants, anthocyanins contributed the most to the antioxidant effect by inhibiting the formation of both hexanal and protein carbonyls. In raspberries, ellagitannins were responsible for the antioxidant activity. While the antioxidant effect of berry proanthocyanidins and anthocyanins was dose-dependent, ellagitannins appeared to be equally active at all concentrations. In conclusion, berries are rich in monomeric and polymeric phenolic compounds providing protection toward both lipid and protein oxidation.  相似文献

Assessing the magnitude and geometry of soil shrinkage is indispensable for sound use and management of swelling and shrinking soils for agriculture and engineering. We have explored a simplified parametric model for the soil shrinkage characteristic curve, which is a measure for the magnitude of soil shrinkage, and tested it against experimental data for a Vertisol and a Lixisol under sugar cane in the Havana province, Cuba. We then applied the model to determine soil consistency limits, including the shrinkage, plastic and structural limits, using the model's third and fourth derivative. We further demonstrated how the model can be used to assess the geometry of shrinkage in terms of the relative crack area and the relative surface subsidence. Excellent matches were obtained between the observations and the fitted model. The shrinkage and structural limits corresponded to distinct changes in the soil shrinkage characteristic curve and were as such considered to be correctly estimated. The accuracy of the estimated plastic limit could, however, not been verified, since data were lacking. Linear regressions with R2 > 0.88 were established relating the shrinkage and plastic limits to the soil's COLE index and the cation exchange capacity. The model could be easily applied to determine the crack area and the surface subsidence. We finally demonstrated how a geometry factor rs plays a crucial role in determining the shrinkage geometry, particularly for rs values ranging from 1 to 3.  相似文献

This study aimed to elucidate the response of diversity and activity of soil invertebrates to elevated soil metal concentrations that were a result of sewage sludge application. Field sampling of soil invertebrates was carried out from 2002 to 2004 at an experimental site established in 1982 to test the effects on crop production of metal contamination from sewage sludge applications with elevated concentrations of zinc (Zn), copper (Cu) and nickel (Ni) with certain treatments exceeding the current UK statutory limits for the safe use of sludge on land. At metal concentrations within the limits, none of the invertebrates sampled showed adverse effects on their abundance or overall community diversity (from Shannon–Weiner index). At concentrations above the limits, individual taxa showed sensitivity to different metals, but overall diversity was not affected. Earthworm abundance was significantly reduced at total Cu concentrations at and above 176 mg kg?1, while nematode and enchytraeid abundances were sensitive to Cu and high Zn concentrations. Correspondingly, litter decomposition was lower in Zn and Cu treatments although there was no direct relationship between decomposition and soil invertebrate abundance or diversity. Such enduring changes in both soil biodiversity and biological activity around the current UK regulatory limits warrant further investigation to determine whether they indicate detrimental damage to soil functioning over the long‐term.  相似文献

为探明不同残膜量对土壤水分水平运动过程的影响规律,设置6个残膜量水平,分别为0,80,160,320,640,1 280kg/hm~2,采用室内水平土柱吸渗法,分析残膜对水平湿润锋运移、累积入渗量、Boltzmann系数和土壤水分扩散率的影响。结果表明:水平湿润锋运移速率、土壤含水率和累积入渗量均随残膜量增加而减小,残膜量≥160kg/hm~2时,水平湿润锋运移速率和累积入渗量大幅降低;残膜对土壤水分水平运动的阻滞系数与残膜量呈正相关关系,残膜阻滞系数的最大增长率出现在80~160kg/hm~2残膜量区间,高达251.15%;随残膜量的增加,阻滞作用较强区域距离入渗点的距离增大,Boltzmann系数和水分扩散率则逐渐减小,土壤基质势对水分水平运动的驱动作用和土壤持水能力逐渐减弱;混有残膜的土壤水分水平运动过程,仍符合土壤水分扩散率单一参数模型和Kostiakov入渗模型。残膜是一种难降解持续性污染物,会降低水平湿润锋运移速率、累积入渗量和土壤水分扩散率,对土壤水分水平运动的阻滞作用随残膜增多而增强。  相似文献

Antioxidants commonly used in polyolefins were studied in commercial food packages made of low- and high-density polyethylene (LDPE and HDPE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinylchloride (PVC), and polyethylene terephtalate (PET) and in a LDPE film extruded at the laboratory. The phenolic antioxidants BHA, BHT, AO 2246, AO 425, Ethanox 330, Irganox 1010, and Irganox 1076 were studied together with the phosphite Irgafos 168 and their two degradation products, phosphate and DBP. Antioxidants were extracted from polyolefins using microwave energy and analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to determine the antioxidant content in the diverse commercial films. Irganox 1010 and Irganox 1076 were found in the majority of the samples generally together with the phosphite Irgafos 168 and its oxidized product (phosphate). Specific migration levels of each antioxidant were determined by HPLC after pretreatment with solid-phase extraction (SPE) in aqueous food simulants and after their dilution with tetrahydrofuran (THF) in fatty food simulant. Antioxidant activity-guided fractionation based on three in vitro antioxidant assays (Folin-Ciocalteu, TEAC, and leucomethylene blue assays) was used to identify major antioxidants in blue wheat (UC66049 Triticum aestivum L.). After consecutive extractions with solvents of various polarities and multiple chromatographic fractionations, several potent antioxidants were identified by NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Anthocyanins (delphinidin-3-glucoside, delphinidin-3-rutinoside, cyanidin-3-glucoside, and cyanidin-3-rutinoside), tryptophan, and a novel phenolic trisaccharide (β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-β-D-glucopyranoside) were the most active water-extractable constituents. However, anthocyanins were found to be major contributors to the overall blue wheat antioxidant activity only when the extraction steps were performed under acidic conditions. Alkylresorcinols were among the most active antioxidants extractable with 80% ethanol in the TEAC assay. However, this may be due to a color change instead of a bleaching of the ABTS radical. Ferulic acid was found to be the major antioxidant in alkaline cell-wall hydrolysates. The contents of the most active antioxidants were determined.  相似文献

The antioxidant potential of Castanea sativa Mill. leaf (sweet chestnut) was explored as a new source of active extracts. The capacity of the different fractions issued from aqueous, methanol, and ethyl acetate extracts to inhibit the stable free radical 2,2-diphenyl-1-pycryl-hydrazyl, superoxide anion, and hydroxyl radical was measured by electronic spin resonance. Their scavenging potential was analyzed versus their amount of phenolic compounds. Among the active fractions, the most effective one was A6, an ethyl acetate fraction, which contained a high level of total phenolic compounds (29.1 g/100 g). Thus, a different extraction procedure was performed to concentrate the active compounds of A6 in the new C. sativa leaf extract (CSLE). Compared to reference antioxidants (quercetin and vitamin E) and standard extracts (Pycnogenol, from French Pinus maritima bark, and grape marc extract), it was observed that A6 and CSLE have high antioxidant potentials, equivalent to at least those of reference compounds.  相似文献

The degradation of secoiridoid, tocopherol, and antioxidant activity in extra virgin olive oils (EVOOs) was studied during 8 months of storage in closed bottles in the dark, at 40 and 25 degrees C. Picual, Arbequina, Taggiasca, and Colombaia monovarietal EVOOs possessing quite different fatty acid and antioxidant contents were used. The secoiridoid aglycones, namely, the oleuropein and ligstroside derivatives, and alpha-tocopherol decreased following pseudo-first-order kinetics. In all EVOOs oleuropein derivatives were less stable than the corresponding ligstroside derivatives and alpha-tocopherol. Accordingly, overall antioxidant activity decreased following pseudo-first-order kinetics, with rate constants ranging from 0.85 x 10(-)(3) to 4.1 x 10(-)(3) days(-)(1) at 40 degrees C and from 0.8 x 10(-)(3) to 1.5 x 10(-)(3) days(-)(1) at 25 degrees C. According to both the antioxidant activity and the hydrolysis and oxidation indices established by EU regulation to assess EVOO quality, Colombaia oil was the least stable, followed by Taggiasca, Arbequina, and Picual oils. Despite antioxidant degradation, EVOOs with high antioxidant contents were still "excellent" after 240 days of storage at 40 degrees C. These data led to the conclusion that the beneficial properties of EVOOs due to antioxidant activity can be maintained throughout their commercial lives.  相似文献

A new cell was evaluated for studying the migration of components of plastic food packaging materials into various food simulating solvents. Data obtained using this cell to study the migration of styrene from polystyrene at 40 and 70 degrees C are presented. Food simulating solvents tested were: water; 3% acetic acid; 8, 20, 50, and 100% ethanol; corn oil; HB-307; heptane; hexadecane; and decanol. An iterative Basic computer program is described that fits the migration vs time data obtained to mathematical models, based on Ficks' law, yielding migrant/polymer diffusion coefficients (Dp). Dp values determined for styrene migration from polystyrene at 40 and 70 degrees C were 3 X 10(-13) and 4 X 10(-12) sq. cm/s, respectively.  相似文献

Instant coffees produced from the same green coffee beans were supplied from a company in different roasting degrees, light, medium, and dark. Melanoidins were obtained by ultrafiltration (10 kDa) and subsequent diafiltration. Pure melanoidins were isolated from melanoidins after overnight incubation in 2 M NaCl. The antioxidant activities of instant coffees, melanoidins, and pure melanoidins were tested using the conjugated diene formation from a 2,2'-azobis(2-amidinopropane) dihydrochloride-induced linoleic acid oxidation in an aqueous system. No significant differences were found between melanoidins and pure melanoidins with different roasting degrees. Therefore, the contribution of the pure melanoidin fraction to the total antioxidant activity of melanoidins was significantly lower. More than 50% of the antioxidant activity of melanoidins is due to low molecular weight compounds linked non-covalently to the melanoidin skeleton. A new concept of the overall antioxidant properties of food melanoidins is described, where chelating ability toward low molecular weight antioxidant compounds is connected to the stabilization of these compounds involved in the shelf life of the product.  相似文献

The study of the antioxidant capacity of foodstuffs requires the use of diverse determination methods to gain a wider picture of their multiple effects. The aim of this work was to evaluate the "antioxidant profile" of red wines applying TAC (total antioxidant capacity) methods: 2,2'-azinobis(3-ethyl-benzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS), 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine dihydrochloride, oxygen radical absorbance capacity, ferric reducing/antioxidant power, hydroxyl and superoxide radical scavenger activities, and biomarkers of oxidative stress methods such as lipid peroxidation inhibition and inhibition of damage to DNA. Furthermore, levels of total polyphenols (TPP) of wines were also evaluated. Three bottles of 107 different Spanish red wines (total samples 321), made from different grape varieties, aging processes, and vintages, were analyzed. The validation of TAC methods, the first step in this work, provided a good linearity, proportionality, and low detection limits. Among these methods, the ABTS was the most satisfactory for its rapidity, cost, and precision. All wines showed an important capacity to scavenge hydroxyl radicals and were capable of blocking superoxide radicals but with 10 times lower intensity. Wines also showed important protective action on biomarkers of oxidative stress; they were much more active to inhibit lipid peroxidation than DNA oxidation. Few statistically significant correlations among levels of TPP and antioxidant properties of wines were detected. Furthermore, values of these correlations were very low.  相似文献

The Atterberg limits and the Proctor compaction test are used by engineers for classifying soils and for predicting stability of building foundations. Field capacity and wilting point (agronomic limits) are used to indicate available water for plant uptake. Few studies have related the engineering criteria to the agronomic ones with regard to compaction hazard for soils. This study investigated the relationships between Atterberg limits, agronomic limits and the critical moisture content (moisture content at Proctor maximum density) for three disturbed soils (sandy loam and clay loam soils from a reclaimed Highvale mine site, and a silt loam soil from a grazing site at Lacombe) of different textures. Relationships between bulk density, moisture content and penetration resistance for these soils were also investigated. For the sandy loam and loam soils, the field capacity was close to the critical moisture content but lower than the plastic limit. Therefore, cultivation of these two soils at moisture contents close to field capacity should be avoided since maximum densification occurs at these moisture contents. Overall, the critical moisture content or field capacity would be a better guide for trafficking of sandy loam and loam textured soils than the Atterberg limits. For the clay loam, field capacity was within the plastic range. Thus trafficking this soil at field capacity would cause severe compaction. In conclusion, either field capacity or plastic limit, whichever is less, can be used as a guide to avoid trafficking at this moisture content and beyond. For the sandy loam and loam soils penetration resistance significantly increased only with increased bulk density (P≤0.05). For the clay loam soil, penetration resistance was positively related to bulk density and negatively related to moisture content.  相似文献

为探究土壤残膜量对膜孔灌肥液入渗土壤水氮运移特性的影响,通过室内土箱模拟试验设置0,90,180,360,720 kg/hm~2的5个残膜量水平,分析不同残膜量下膜孔灌肥液入渗累积入渗量、湿润锋运移距离、湿润体特征和水氮分布规律。结果表明:残膜对膜孔灌肥液入渗具有阻渗作用,残膜土累积入渗量较无残膜土减少10.63%~30.77%,Kostiakov模型对残膜土单位膜孔面积累积入渗量与入渗时间有较好地拟合效果;入渗前30 min,不同残膜量的垂直湿润锋运移距离差异不显著,随着入渗时间推进,残膜量与湿润锋运移距离、湿润体体积呈负相关关系。入渗结束时,含残膜土湿润体体积减小18.09%~41.96%。垂直湿润锋距离、湿润体体积与入渗时间均呈显著的幂函数关系,R~2均0.98;除膜孔中心处,相同位置含残膜的土壤含水率低于无残膜,30%高含水率区域减小。湿润体内同一深度土壤NO_3~--N和NH_4~+-N含量随残膜量增加而减小,减小幅度为4.20%~16.27%。研究结果可为残膜土下膜孔灌技术提供理论参考。  相似文献
