Stimulation of bovine alveolar macrophages with calcium ionophore A23187 resulted in marked production of leukotriene (LT)B4 and a lesser increase in thromboxane (TX)B2, whereas opsonized zymosan (OPZ) resulted in production of TXB2 and relatively small increases in LTB4 and prostaglandin (PG)F2 alpha. Alveolar macrophages incubated with recombinant bovine interferon-gamma or lipopolysaccharide, and subsequently stimulated with A23187 or OPZ, had altered arachidonic acid metabolism, producing markedly increased amounts of TXB2 and PGF2 alpha, and slightly increased LTB4. Incubation of alveolar macrophages with lipopolysaccharide had a more profound effect on the increased amounts of TXB2 and PGF2 alpha, observed in response to stimulation with A23187 or OPZ, than did incubation with interferon-gamma. Alveolar macrophages incubated with recombinant bovine interferon-alpha 1-1 also produced slightly increased amounts of LTB4 when stimulated with A23187 or OPZ. Altered arachidonic acid metabolism by alveolar macrophages exposed to interferons and lipopolysaccharide may contribute to the development of pulmonary inflammation, such as in the early stages of bacterial pneumonia following viral infections that induce interferon production.  相似文献

In order to compare the intracellular concentration of antimicrobial agents in phagocytic and nonphagocytic cells, the knowledge of their cell volume is essential. For the first time, the determination of the avian, porcine, and bovine polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN), monocyte-derived macrophages, macrophages, and bovine mammary epithelial cell volume was performed using [3H]-water and [14C]-carboxyinulin. The comparison of all the cells showed that the PMN have a size range between 3.58 and 4.04 microL per mg of protein, and are smaller than the monocyte-derived macrophages and mammary epithelial cells (4.32-5.01 microL per mg of protein). The macrophages show the largest size (5.84-6.57 microL per mg of protein). The cellular uptake of tilmicosin in these cells was then determined. The examination of the intracellular/extracellular concentration ratios (Ci/Ce) after 4 h of incubation with 10 mg/mL of [14C]-labelled tilmicosin revealed that tilmicosin was well accumulated and showed a ratio of 137, 169 and 193 in avian PMN, porcine PMN, and bovine alveolar macrophages, respectively. The cellular uptake data also demonstrated that tilmicosin accumulated in nonphagocytic bovine mammary epithelial cells. The importance of the use of the appropriate species and cell type specific cell volume values for calculations was exemplified by calculating the Ci/Ce of tilmicosin using cell volume data found in the literature for human and mouse cells. The subsequent comparison of these data with the Ci/Ce calculated with the actual cell volume appropriate for the species tested revealed an under evaluation of 3-13% in monocyte-macrophages, an over evaluation of 7-18%, 16-31% and 69% in PMN, macrophages, and epithelial cells, respectively. This study highlights the importance of the proper cell volume in order to determine the Ci/Ce. Moreover, the cell volumes determined here for avian, porcine and bovine cells should facilitate further in vitro and in vivo cellular studies by veterinary researchers.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: To determine the effects of oral administration of tilmicosin in piglets experimentally infected with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae. ANIMALS: Forty 3-week-old specific-pathogen free piglets. PROCEDURES: Piglets were assigned to 1 of 4 groups as follows: 1) uninfected sham-treated control piglets; 2) infected untreated piglets that were intratracheally inoculated with 10(7) CFUs of A pleuropneumoniae; 3) infected treated piglets that were intratracheally inoculated with A pleuropneumoniae and received tilmicosin in feed (400 ppm [microg/g]) for 7 days prior to inoculation; or 4) infected treated piglets that were intratracheally inoculated with A pleuropneumoniae and received chlortetracycline (CTC) in feed (1100 ppm [microg/gl) for 7 days prior to inoculation. Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid and lung tissue specimens of piglets for each group were evaluated at 3 or 24 hours after inoculation. For each time point, 4 to 6 piglets/group were studied. RESULTS: Feeding of CTC and tilmicosin decreased bacterial load in lungs of infected piglets. Tilmicosin delivered in feed, but not CTC, enhanced apoptosis in porcine BAL fluid leukocytes. This was associated with a decrease in LTB4 concentrations in BAL fluid of tilmicosin-treated piglets, compared with untreated and CTC-treated piglets, and also with a significant decrease in the number of pulmonary lesions. Tilmicosin inhibited infection-induced increases in rectal temperatures, as measured in untreated and CTC-treated piglets. Pulmonary neutrophil infiltration and prostaglandin E2 concentrations in the BAL fluid were not significantly different among groups at any time. CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Oral administration of tilmicosin to infected piglets induces apoptosis in BAL fluid leukocytes and decreases BAL fluid LTB4 concentrations and inflammatory lung lesions.  相似文献

In humans, clinically relevant drug-drug interactions occur with some macrolide antibiotics via the formation of stable metabolic intermediate (MI) complexes with enzymes of the cytochrome P4503A (CYP3A) subfamily. The formation of such complexes can result in a decreased biotransformation rate of simultaneously administered drugs. In previous studies it was shown that the veterinary antibiotic tiamulin was also able to form a stable MI complex in pigs and rats. In the present study the relative CYP3A inhibiting potency and MI complex formation of a series of macrolide antibiotics and tiamulin were studied in microsomal fractions of goat and cattle and in a cell-line expressing bovine CYP3A. Tiamulin and triacetyloleandomycin (TAO) were found to be effective inhibitors of CYP450 activity in all systems tested. Erythromycin and tilmicosin were found to be relatively less effective inhibitors of CYP450 activity in microsomes, and their activity in the bovine CYP3A4 expressing cell line was relatively weak. Tylosin was shown to be a weak inhibitor in microsomes and not in the cell line, whereas spiramycin had no effect at all. MI-complex formation measured by spectral analysis was seen with TAO, tiamulin, erythromycin and tylosin, but not with tilmicosin and spiramycin. Although additional factors play a role in vivo, these results may explain potential drug-drug interactions and differences between related compounds in this respect.  相似文献

The treatment of an outbreak of acute pneumonia in 50 four- to eight-month-old Friesian and Friesian cross calves is described. At the first visit (day 0) 16 calves received 20 mg/kg bodyweight of oxytetracycline dihydrate intramuscularly and 15 received 10 mg/kg of the macrolide tilmicosin subcutaneously. The remaining 19 in-contact animals were not considered ill enough to be included in the trial and received 20 mg/kg of oxytetracycline dihydrate. The rectal temperature, demeanour, respiratory rate and respiratory effort of each calf was assessed on days 1, 2, 3, 9, 14, 21 and 28, and calves which had not responded were given repeat injections of the same antibiotic. All the calves recovered from the outbreak and of the 19 calves treated strategically, three required a second injection. Among the calves with clinical pneumonia, fewer treatments (P less than 0.01) were required by those treated with tilmicosin. The rectal temperatures of both groups decreased (P less than 0.05) after the first injection, but on day 3 the decrease was greater (P less than 0.05) in the group treated with tilmicosin. Respiratory rates varied widely but respiratory effort was less (P less than 0.05) on day 2 in the calves treated with tilmicosin. When long-acting antibiotic injections are used to treat enzootic pneumonia it is suggested that a second visit should be made on day 3 to assess the animals' response to treatment.  相似文献

Structural luteolysis occurs by apoptosis of luteal cells. The present study examined the effects of activators of well-characterized second messengers on Fas and caspase-3 mRNA expression and on P4 production in luteal cells in order to trace the pro- and anti-apoptotic factors in the bovine corpus luteum (CL). Cultured bovine mid luteal cells were treated for 24 h with a cyclic AMP analogue (8-bromo cyclic AMP; 8br-cAMP; 2.5 mM), a protein kinase C (PKC) activator (phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate; PMA; 10 microM), or calcium ionophore (A23187; 10 microM). Fas and caspase-3 mRNA expression was inhibited by 8br-cAMP and PMA but was increased by A23187 (P<0.05). In addition, P4 production by bovine luteal cells was stimulated by 8br-cAMP and PMA, whereas it was inhibited by A23187, compared with untreated controls (P<0.05). The overall results suggest that cAMP and PKC suppress apoptosis in bovine luteal cells through inhibition of Fas and caspase-3 mRNA expression and through stimulation of P4 production. Therefore, substances that activate cAMP or PKC may act as survival factors in the bovine CL. Furthermore, substances that mobilize Ca2+ may act as apoptotic factors by stimulating Fas and caspase-3 expression in the bovine luteal cells.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate chemotactic, phagocytic, and bactericidal activities of bovine and porcine alveolar macrophages (AM) exposed to tilmicosin. ANIMALS: 12 healthy calves and 12 healthy pigs. PROCEDURES: Lungs were obtained immediately after euthanasia; AM were collected by means of bronchoalveolar lavage and density gradient centrifugation. Chemotactic activity was evaluated by exposing AM to lipopolysaccharide or macrophage inhibitory peptide during incubation with tilmicosin. Phagocytic activity was evaluated by incubating AM with tilmicosin for 24 hours and then with tilmicosin-resistant Salmonella serotype Typhimurium. Bactericidal activity was evaluated by incubating AM with tilmicosin (0, 10, or 20 microg/ml for bovine AM; 0 or 10 microg/ml or 10 microg/ml but washed free of tilmicosin for porcine AM) and then with Mannheimia haemolytica (bovine AM) or with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae or Pasteurella multocida (porcine AM). RESULTS: Tilmicosin had no significant effects on chemotactic or phagocytic activities of bovine or porcine AM. The time-course of bactericidal activity was best described by polynomial equations. Time to cessation of bacterial growth and area under the time versus bacterial number curve were significantly affected by incubation of AM with tilmicosin. CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Results show that bactericidal activity of bovine and porcine AM was enhanced by tilmicosin, but not in proportion to the reported ability of AM to concentrate tilmicosin intracellularly. With or without exposure to tilmicosin, the time-course of bactericidal activity of bovine AM against M haemolytica and of porcine AM against A pleuropneumoniae or P multocida was too complex to be reduced to a simple linear equation.  相似文献

The macrolide antibiotic tilmicosin has potential for treating bacterial respiratory tract infections in horses. A pharmacokinetic study evaluated the disposition of tilmicosin in the horse after oral (4 mg/kg) or subcutaneous (s.c.) (10 mg/kg) administration. Tilmicosin was not detected in equine plasma or tissues after oral administration at this dose. With s.c. injection, tilmicosin concentrations reached a maximum concentration of approximately 200 ng/mL in the plasma of the horses. Tilmicosin concentrations in plasma persisted with a mean residence time (MRT) of 19 h. Maximum tissue residue concentrations (C(max)) of tilmicosin measured in equine lung, kidney, liver and muscle tissues after s.c. administration were 2784, 4877, 1398, and 881 ng/g, respectively. The MRT of tilmicosin in these tissues was approximately 27 h. Subcutaneous administration of tilmicosin resulted in severe reactions at the injection sites.  相似文献

These studies were designed to measure leukotriene B4 (LTB4) production by polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) from selenium (Se)-deficient and Se-adequate goats. Leukotriene B4 was measured by both radioimmune and chemotactic activity assays in supernatants of PMN stimulated by calcium ionophore A23187. The concentration of LTB4 produced by PMN from Se-deficient goats was significantly (P less than 0.05) lower than the concentration of LTB4 produced by PMN from Se-adequate goats. Neutrophil chemotactic activity of LTB4 was found to be directly dependent (r2 = 0.85) on the LTB4 concentration. When supernatants from Se-deficient and Se-adequate goats were adsorbed with caprine neutrophils, significant (P less than 0.05) reduction in LTB4 was found in supernatants from both groups. Furthermore, neutrophil adsorption of LTB4 from supernatants of both groups was indicated by significantly (P less than 0.05) decreased chemotaxis to LTB4 supernatants. Decrease in chemotactic response was, however, significantly (P less than 0.05) lower when neutrophils were treated with supernatants from Se-deficient goats. These results indicate that Se deficiency decreases the production of LTB4 by caprine PMN and, hence, LTB4-mediated neutrophil chemotaxis.  相似文献

Tilmicosin is a potent antimicrobial with broad-spectrum activity against the bacterial agents involved in the bovine respiratory disease complex. Recent studies indicate that in addition to being bactericidal, tilmicosin is capable of modulating inflammation in the lung. A series of experiments were designed to determine whether tilmicosin alters alveolar macrophage-prostaglandin E(2) (PGE(2)) production induced by Escherichia coli (O55:B5) lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Twenty-two healthy Holstein bull calves were used to study the effects of LPS-induced PGE(2) production of alveolar macrophages after in vivo or in vitro treatment with tilmicosin. In Experiment 1, tilmicosin was given by subcutaneous injection (15 mg/kg) twice, 48 hours apart, to four calves; four control calves received no treatment. Twenty-four hours after the second treatment, alveolar macrophages were stimulated with LPS in vitro. In Experiment 2, alveolar macrophages from five untreated calves were harvested and treated in vitro with tilmicosin, followed by LPS stimulation. In Experiment 3, the ability of in vitro tilmicosin treatment to alter the expression of LPS-induced cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) mRNA was evaluated. In Experiments 4 and 5, secretory phospholipase A(2) activity was examined in untreated calves. Treatment of calves with tilmicosin resulted in reduced LPS-induced alveolar macrophage PGE(2) production. Similar reductions in PGE(2) by LPS-stimulated alveolar macrophages after in vitro tilmicosin treatment were noted. This in vitro tilmicosin treatment was not associated with reduction of the expression of LPS-induced COX-2. Alveolar macrophage phospholipase A(2) activity induced by LPS was significantly reduced by prior tilmicosin treatment in vitro. Tilmicosin (in vivo and in vitro) appears to reduce the PGE(2) eicosanoid response of LPS-stimulated alveolar macrophages by reducing the in vitro substrate availability without altering in vitro COX-2 mRNA expression.  相似文献

A flow cytometric technique was used to detect apoptosis and necrosis of bovine polymorphonuclear neutrophil leukocytes (PMN) using fluorescein isothiocyanate labeled annexin-V and propidium iodide (PI). Isolation of PMN from the blood following lysis by water or NH4Cl resulted in false positive results for apoptosis. Therefore, a method was developed to identify living, apoptotic and necrotic PMN simultaneously in a single 100 microl blood sample. To establish a positive control for PMN apoptosis, the effect of cycloheximide, actinomycin D, diamide, buthionine sulfoximine and sodium arsenite, that have been described to induce apoptosis by various mechanisms was tested. Only actinomycin D induced a significant increase in the percentage of apoptotic PMN after 2 h. Incubation of blood for 6 h with cycloheximide, actinomycin D and buthionine sulfoximine resulted in a significant increase of apoptotic PMN compared to control values. Sodium arsenite, mainly caused necrosis after 6 h of incubation.  相似文献

Tilmicosin is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic, currently approved for veterinary use in cattle and swine respiratory disease. As the concentrations of tilmicosin are generally low in swine lung tissue, the interaction of tilmicosin with three types of swine phagocytes (monocyte-macrophages, alveolar macrophages, and neutrophils) was evaluated to provide an understanding of clinical efficacy. After incubation with radiolabelled tilmicosin, uptake was determined and expressed as the ratio of the intracellular (Ci) to the extracellular (Ce) drug concentration (Ci/Ce). Tilmicosin was avidly accumulated by the swine phagocytes (Ci/Ce 48–69 at 4 h incubation) with 51 to 85% localized in the lysosomes. Uptake was dependent on cell viability, temperature and pH, but was not influenced by the metabolic inhibitors, sodium cyanide or potassium fluoride. However, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) exposure increased tilmicosin uptake by the swine phagocytes. In neutrophils, upon removal of extracellular tilmicosin, 60% of the intracellular tilmicosin was effluxed within the first 30 min, but after 4 h of incubation in drug-free medium, 25% remained cell-associated. In contrast, after 4 h of incubation in drug-free medium, 60% and 45% of tilmicosin remained cell-associated, within alveolar macrophages and monocyte-derived macrophages, respectively. Tilmicosin uptake was observed to increase lysosomal enzyme (acid phosphatase, lysozyme and β-glucuronidase) production. Finally, neutrophils were shown to transport and efflux bioactive tilmicosin in a test system measuring both neutrophil chemotaxis under agarose and a bioassay measuring inhibition of bacterial growth in the presence of antibiotic in agar. These in vitro interactions of tilmicosin with swine phagocytes suggest an integral role in effecting clinical efficacy.  相似文献

The protective effect of L-carnitine was investigated against tilmicosin-induced cardiotoxic effects including blood creatine kinase (CK), CK-MB, total sialic acid as well as the alterations in glutathione and malondialdehyde concentrations in mice. Thirty-two Balb/C mice were divided into four groups including group 1 (control), group 2 (L-carnitine, s.c., 500 mg/kg for 5 days), group 3 (tilmicosin, s.c., single dose of 75 mg/kg) and group 4 (L-carnitine plus tilmicosin). Serum CK, CK-MB and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels were significantly (P < 0.05) higher in group 3 compared with those of other groups. Total sialic acid level in group 3 was found to be significantly (P < 0.05) higher than that in groups 1 and 2, as well. Contrary to these results, glutathione level in group 3 was found to be significantly (P < 0.05) lower than that in groups 1 and 2. In group 4, serum CK, CK-MB, MDA and total sialic acid levels were found to be significantly (P < 0.05) lower than those in group 3. These results suggest that tilmicosin is cardiotoxic in mice as evidenced by higher total sialic acid, CK and CK-MB. In addition, tilmicosin caused the decrease in glutathione and increase in MDA levels. However, administration of L-carnitine could ameliorate these adverse toxic effects of tilmicosin in mice.  相似文献

Acute interdigital phlegmon (AIP) is a commonly occurring anaerobic bacterial infection in cattle. This study examined in vitro the interaction of bovine polymorphonuclear granulocytic neutrophils (PMN) from blood with bacterial species involved in AIP. Polymorphonuclear neutrophils were purified from whole bovine blood, exposed to one of the three putative etiologic agents of AIP and comparatively assessed for phagocytosis using light microscopy. Fusobacterium necrophorum and Prevotella intermedia were effectively phagocytosed by PMN, but Porphyromonas levii was phagocytosed significantly less effectively by PMN. The effect of high titre anti-P. levii bovine serum on antibody-mediated phagocytosis by PMN was also evaluated. High titre serum increased the efficiency of phagocytosis of P. levii by bovine PMN. This was independent of heat labile complement factors. Antibodies specific for P. levii were assessed for protease activity capable of cleaving bovine immunoglobulins (IgG, IgG1, IgG2, and IgM). Partially purified supernatant from broth cultures of P. levii were incubated with biotinylated immunoglobulins (Igs). Samples were taken from times 0 to 72 h and examined using SDS-PAGE followed by Western blot analysis. Streptavidin-alkaline phosphatase and NBT-BCIP were used to visualize the Igs for heavy and light chains as well as lower molecular weight fragments of these glycoproteins. Porphyromonas levii produced an immunoglobulin protease which readily cleaved bovine IgG into fragments, but did not act against IgM. Specifically, the enzyme may be a significant virulence factor as it may act to neutralize the antibodies demonstrated necessary for effective PMN-mediated phagocytosis.  相似文献

After intramammary infection, polymorphonuclear neutrophil leukocytes (PMN) are the first cells recruited into the mammary gland. Rapid recruitment of and bacterial phagocytosis and killing by PMN are the most effective defenses against establishment of bacterial infection. In addition to their phagocytic and bactericidal properties, PMN may play a key supportive role through secretion of cytokines during the innate immune response. We sought to determine whether bovine PMN produce cytokines in response to stimulation by lipopolysaccharide (LPS). To investigate the effects of LPS on the expression of cytokines secreted by bovine PMN, we measured the expression of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha, interleukin (IL)-1beta, IL-12, and interferon (IFN)-gamma by ELISA after stimulation with different concentrations of LPS, and secretion of IL-8 after co-stimulation with LPS and either TNF-alpha or IL-1beta. Bovine PMN were shown to secrete TNF-alpha , IL-1beta, IL-12, IL-8 and IFN-gamma in response to LPS. Co-incubation of PMN with LPS and TNF-alpha increased secretion of IL-8 when compared to LPS alone. It was concluded that LPS stimulation up-regulates the secretion of cytokines by bovine PMN, and that co-incubation of LPS with TNF-alpha had an additive effect on the secretion of IL-8. These data show that bovine PMN, in addition to their phagocytic and bactericidal properties, may play a supportive role in the innate immune response to infection by Gram-negative bacteria through their ability to produce immuno-regulating cytokines.  相似文献

A clinical trial was undertaken to investigate the efficacy of a single dose of carprofen (CPF) in the treatment of bovine respiratory disease in cattle. Tilmicosin was used as a basal treatment in all animals. Six hours after dosing, body temperature and respiratory rates in animals treated with CPF-tilmicosin had decreased and were significantly lower than in the animals treated with tilmicosin alone (P < 0.05). Over the period of clinical observation, CPF-tilmicosin treatment produced a clinical resolution of the pneumonia similar to treatment with tilmicosin alone. However, it is significant from an animal welfare perspective that over the period of the study after treatment, CPF-tilmicosin therapy produced significantly greater symptomatic improvement than tilmicosin.  相似文献

Mastitis was induced in 4 lactating cows by inoculation of Klebsiella pneumoniae (10(7) organisms/ml) via the teat canal. Sterile isotonic saline solution (1 ml) was instilled into designated control quarters via the teat canal. Changes in milk leukotriene B4 and C4 (LTB4, LTC4) concentrations, milk somatic cell counts, and milk bovine serum albumin concentration were monitored over a 24-hour postinoculation period. Milk LTB4 concentration before inoculation in control quarters and quarters later to be infected was 376 +/- 45 and 326 +/- 56 pg/ml of milk, respectively. A significant (P less than 0.05) increase in milk LTB4 concentration in the infected quarters was first observed at postinoculation hour 6, and milk LTB4 concentration in infected quarters generally remained significantly high through postinoculation hour 14. Thereafter, milk LTB4 concentration in infected quarters was not significantly different from the concentration in control quarters. Measurable amounts of LTC4 were not detected in the milk of either control or infected quarters. Milk bovine serum albumin concentration in the infected quarters generally was high throughout the study, as were milk somatic cell counts. The results of this study suggested that LTB4 contributes to the pathogenesis of bovine mastitis.  相似文献

Polymorphonuclear neutrophil leukocytes (PMN) play an important role in intramammary defense against infections by Escherichia coli. During mastitis, PMN are confronted with various inflammatory mediators that can modulate their function. In severely diseased cows, increased concentrations of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha (TNF-alpha) are detected in plasma. Binding of LPS to membrane bound CD14 molecules on monocytes cause release of inflammatory mediators such as TNF-alpha. Because apoptosis of PMN promotes resolution of inflammation and because the LPS and TNF-alpha response in milk and blood is related to the severity of E. coli mastitis, the effect on apoptosis of bovine PMN of increased concentrations LPS and TNF-alpha was studied together with the functionality of apoptotic PMN.Bovine PMN apoptosis, as determined with annexin-V, was induced with high concentrations of either LPS (1000 and 10,000ng/mL) or TNF-alpha (10,000ng/mL) in whole blood following a 6h incubation at 37 degrees C. The apoptosis inducing effect of LPS on PMN was not inhibited following coculture with either anti-bovine TNF-alpha or anti-ovine CD14 monoclonal antibodies. When compared to controls, apoptotic PMN had a similar level of CD18 expression but lacked phagocytic and respiratory burst activity. This is the first study reporting the effects of apoptosis on bovine PMN function. These functional impairments in apoptotic PMN could be important in contributing to the establishment of intramammary infection. Well functioning PMN could finally determine the severity of mastitis following an invasion of bacteria in the mammary gland.  相似文献

Enzootic pneumonia by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and pleuropneumonia by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae are among the most common and economically relevant pulmonary diseases in swine herds. We herein investigated the activity and expression of 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in healthy and diseased porcine lungs, by means of immunohistochemical, immunochemical and biochemical assays. Diseased lungs showed a significantly higher activity and expression of 5-LOX and COX-2 in a wide range of cell types, thus suggesting the likely involvement of both enzymes in the pathogenesis of bacterial porcine pneumonia. Consistently, increased enzyme activities were paralleled by increased leukotriene B(4) (LTB(4)), a 5-LOX product and prostaglandin E(2) (PGE(2)), a COX-2 product, content in diseased versus healthy lungs.  相似文献
