1. The physiological and metabolic effects of a short term food restriction of broiler chickens at an early age and grown to 49 d of age were examined. 2. Fat accretion was measured by tritium dilution. Adipocyte characteristics of the fat tissue were examined by cell counting after fixation with osmium tetroxide and the metabolic effects of food restrictions were measured by closed-circuit respiration calorimetry. 3. The success of food restrictions in allowing full bodyweight recovery and producing decreases in body fat was associated with a negative energy balance and a positive nitrogen balance achieved during the restriction phase. 4. Food restrictions produced decreases in body fat possibly by causing a delay in adipocyte hyperplasia. Excess dietary energy was then lost as heat until adipocyte hyperplasia re-commenced allowing the bird to store surplus dietary energy as fat. 5. A food restriction that allows full bodyweight recovery and maximum carcase fat reduction in the broiler chicken at 49 d may not be appropriate for birds grown for longer periods.  相似文献

The response of broiler breeder hens to dietary lysine and methionine.   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
1. Broiler breeder hens were used in an experiment lasting 10 weeks (29 to 38 weeks of age) to measure the responses to dietary lysine and methionine, the main objective being to determine whether the coefficients of response to these amino acids were the same for broiler breeders and for laying pullets. 2. The hens were offered 150 g/d of one of 20 dietary treatments, 10 being lysine-limiting and 10 being methionine-limiting. The diets were mixed by diluting one of two concentrate (summit) mixes with a protein-free dilution mixture. The lysine-limiting summit diet was designed to supply approximately 1300 mg lysine/bird d, while the other supplied 520 mg methionine/bird d, when fed at 150 g/bird d. 3. Birds on the 5 lowest concentrations of both lysine and methionine did not consume the allotted amount of food, the amount decreasing, in a curvilinear fashion, to approximately 105 g/bird d. 4. The minimum egg weight recorded was 0.8 of the maximum, whereas the rate of lay of birds fed on the diets with the lowest amino acid concentrations was 0.2 of the maximum. 5. Using the Reading Model, the coefficients of response were calculated to be (for lysine) 16.88 E and 11.2 W, and for methionine, 7.03 E and 1.52 W, where E = egg output, g/bird d, and W = body mass, kg/bird. An average, individual, broiler breeder of 3 kg, producing 45 g of egg output per day, would need 793 mg of lysine and 321 mg of methionine daily. This intake of methionine is similar to that estimated by means of coefficients used for laying pullets, but the lysine requirement would be underestimated by 0.18 if the coefficients for laying pullets were used. 6. The coefficients for maintenance for both lysine and methionine, determined in this experiment, are considerably lower than values published previously, whilst the coefficients for egg output are, in both cases, higher. 1. The effect of dietary chitosan on fat deposition and lipase activity in the small intestinal contents was investigated in broiler chickens fed an adequate or high metabolisable energy (ME) diet. 2. Male broiler chickens at 14 d old were fed on the adequate or high ME diet supplemented with 0 or 50 g/kg chitosan, which has a low viscosity, for 3 weeks. 3. Dietary chitosan did not affect food intake, body weight gain or food efficiency in either dietary ME groups. 4. Dietary chitosan reduced the excessive abdominal fat deposition induced by the high ME diet. 5. Dietary chitosan increased the weight of intestinal contents irrespective of dietary ME concentration. 6. Dietary chitosan decreased the lipase activity per g of small intestinal contents. 7. These results suggest that dietary chitosan with low viscosity decreases lipase activity and fat absorption in the small intestine, consequently resulting in a reduction of fat deposition in broiler chickens. 8. It was concluded that dietary chitosan with low viscosity can decrease body fat deposition without reducing food intake and body weight gain in broiler chickens.  相似文献

1. The aim of the study was to determine the ideal ratio of the essential amino acids lysine (Lys), methionine (Met), threonine (Thr), tryptophan (Trp), arginine (Arg), valine (Val) and isoleucine (Ile) and to assess the required dietary lysine concentration for optimum performance in broiler chickens of 2 commercial strains from 20 to 40 d of age. 2. An identical basal diet was used throughout all experiments. It consisted mainly of maize and soyabean meal and contained 172 g crude protein and 13.2 MJ AME(N) per kg. For each experiment, the basal diet was adequately supplemented with all essential amino acids except the one to be tested, which was supplemented in 6 graded concentrations in exchange for maize starch. One (Met, Trp, Arg, Val, Ile) or 2 (Lys, Thr) growth trials were conducted per amino acid tested and the response in weight gain, food: gain ratio, breast meat yield and abdominal fat were examined. 3. The ideal amino acid ratio relative to Lys (expressed as a percentage) was calculated to be 75% Met+Cys, 63% Thr, 19% Trp, 112% Arg, 71% Ile and 81% Val on a true faecal digestible basis when the data were subjected to broken-line regression analysis. From both lysine studies the concentration for optimum food: gain ratio was calculated, by exponential regression analysis, to be 11.5 g true faecal digestible lys per kg diet.  相似文献

The effects of fortifying a diet with L‐lysine HCl (Lys) and L‐arginine (Arg) in broilers housed under conditions of high stock density, were studied in an experiment that measured bodyweight, feed intake, feed conversion, body temperature, serum protein, immune parameters and neutrophils. A diet fortified with Lys and Arg increased bodyweight gain in broilers housed under high stock density conditions, but not in normally housed controls. The diet fortified with Lys and Arg decreased the feed conversion ratio and abdominal fat, as compared to the effects of a control diet, without regard to housing conditions. No effects of amino acid fortification or stock density on body temperature, serum protein or immune parameters were recorded. The results indicate that an increase in the dietary supply of Lys and Arg is beneficial to broilers during stressful conditions of high stock density, potentially contributing to an enhancement of animal welfare in broiler farms.  相似文献

本试验旨在探讨日粮蛋氨酸和赖氨酸水平对 3~ 6周龄艾维茵母鸡胴体组成及脂肪代谢的影响。试验采用 3× 5双因子试验设计 ,蛋氨酸设 3个水平 ( 0 32 % ,0 4 4% ,0 56 % ) ,赖氨酸设 5个水平( 0 7% ,0 85% ,1 0 % ,1 1 5% ,1 30 % ) ,一共形成 1 5个处理组。基础日粮由玉米、豆粕、花生粕、玉米蛋白粉等组成。含代谢能 1 2 73MJ/Kg ,粗蛋白 1 8 8% ,赖氨酸 0 7% ,蛋氨酸 0 32 %。试验末分别检测生产性能 ,屠宰性能及血液生化指标。结果表明 :日粮赖氨酸和蛋氨酸显著影响了肉仔鸡的胴体组成和脂肪代谢 (P <0 0 1 )。赖氨酸和蛋氨酸缺乏或过量 ,血浆尿酸、甘油三脂和极低密度脂蛋白浓度均呈上升趋势。日粮赖氨酸 ( 0 70 % )和蛋氨酸 ( 0 32 % )缺乏显著降低了肉仔鸡的体增重、胸肉率及全净膛率 (P<0 0 5) ,而腹脂沉积偏高。适度提高日粮赖氨酸和蛋氨酸水平可以提高全净膛率 ,胸肌率 ,降低腹脂沉积 ,从而改善胴体品质  相似文献

1. Three experiments were designed to determine the response of broiler chickens to dietary isoleucine, and to quantify the antagonistic effects of excess leucine and valine on this response. 2. A dilution technique was used to measure the responses in growth rate and food intake to a range of diets differing in their isoleucine concentrations. A summit diet was formulated to contain isoleucine at 1.14 times the requirement and with leucine (1.76 times the requirement) and valine (1.87 times the requirement) at the minimum possible concentrations, given the ingredients available. A dilution mixture, devoid of protein, was formulated to correspond in all respects, other than in amino acid content, to the summit diet. These two basal diets were blended in different proportions to give a range of diets of decreasing isoleucine and protein content. 3. In experiment 1 the response was measured to isoleucine with leucine and valine remaining in the same proportion to isoleucine throughout the range of diets fed. In experiments 2 and 3, however, L-leucine and L-valine were added to the diets either singly or in combination to give 6 isoleucine concentrations and 3 ratios of each of leucine and valine to isoleucine. 4. Weight gain decreased as the isoleucine content of the diet was reduced, whereas food intake of broilers fed on the marginally deficient diets increased to a maximum and then decreased. FCE decreased curvilinearly as the isoleucine concentration in the food decreased, reflecting a concomitant change in the fat content of the broilers. 5. It is possible that the amount of dietary isoleucine assumed to be available to the broilers in these experiments was overestimated by hydrolysing the food samples for 72 h, and the doubt thus created makes an estimate of the efficiency of retention of isoleucine suspect. 6. Excess valine had no effect on the response to isoleucine, whereas an increase in the leucine to isoleucine ratio depressed food intake and hence weight gain, but only at the lowest concentrations of isoleucine. 7. If the food content of isoleucine is sufficient to meet the requirements of the broiler, relatively large excesses of leucine, of valine, or of both will not depress growth.  相似文献

1. Three trials were carried out in order to determine the amount by which dietary protein concentration can be reduced while maintaining the dietary concentrations of the first two limiting amino acids, methionine and lysine. 2. In all trials growth rate and food utilisation declined as the protein concentration of a well-balanced standard chick diet was lowered by replacing soybean meal with sorghum grain (milo), but this trend could be partly or completely prevented when methionine or methionine and lysine levels were restored. 3. Addition of 0-06 to 0-07% methionine, above that considered to be normal, is sufficient to replace approximately 0.9% soybean protein. 4. In diets containing approximately 3 percentage units less soybean protein than required, a supplementation of about 0.15% each of methionine and lysine can replace nearly 2-0% soybean protein, but cannot bring about chick performance equal to that obtained on the control ration, indicating an insufficiency of a third, or third and fourth, limiting amino acid in such low-protein diets.  相似文献

1. Pelleted diets, incorporating whole or ground triticale or wheat in the pellets, were fed to broiler chickens and the performance, gastro-intestinal development and health of those chickens recorded. 2. The use of whole triticale in the pelleted food produced similar bodyweight responses to when ground triticale was incorporated in the food. Food conversion efficiency was enhanced when whole triticale was used compared to ground triticale and was similar to when an exogenous enzyme was added to the ground triticale diet. The incorporation of whole wheat into the pelleted food produced similar production responses to the use of ground wheat. 3. The gastro-intestinal development of the birds was greater when they were fed the whole grain diet as gizzard weights were increased by the incorporation of whole grain into the diet. Gastro-intestinal development was thought to be related to the presence of large fibre particles in the food. 4. Proventricular dilatation and mortality due to ascites were reduced by feeding pelleted diets containing whole grain, which was possibly related to the early development of the gastro-intestinal tract relative to total body development. 5. It is suggested that the current use of exogenous enzyme additions to broiler diets may be reduced by incorporating whole grain into pelleted diets for broiler chickens.  相似文献

An experiment was conducted with White Leghorn pullets to study the effect on laying performance of dietary protein content and amino acid supplementation during the growing period. From 0 to 6 weeks of age birds fed on diets containing either 149 g protein/kg supplemented with methionine and lysine or 182 g protein/kg grew faster than those fed on a diet containing 149 g protein/kg alone. However, only those fed on the supplemented diet utilised their food more efficiently. From 7 to 20 weeks of age neither body weight gain nor food utilisation was affected by the dietary protein content. Pullets fed the low protein diet supplemented with 2 g methionine/kg and 2.5 g lysine/kg during the period of 0 to 6 weeks of age had significantly better egg production than birds fed the low protein diet alone. The dietary protein content during 7 to 20 weeks of age did not influence subsequent egg production.  相似文献

1. Two experiments were conducted with male broiler chickens from 3 to 6 weeks of age to determine the effect of dietary protein content on the requirement for sulphur amino acids (SAA). In experiment 1, 0, 0.5, 1.0 or 1.5 g DL‐methionine/kg were added to diets calculated to contain 200, 240 or 280 g protein/kg. In experiment 2, 0, 0.6, 1.2 or 1.8 g DL‐methionine/kg were added to diets calculated to contain 160, 180 or 200 g protein/kg.

2. In experiment 1, the SAA requirement for body weight gain increased as dietary protein content increased. Regression analysis indicated a requirement of 38 g SAA/kg protein.

3. In experiment 2 in which lysine supplementation provided a minimum of 10 g/kg, the requirement for SAA per unit of diet increased only slightly as protein concentration increased indicating that below 200 g protein/kg of diet, the SAA requirement increases per unit of protein with supplementation of the second‐limiting amino acid.

4. Abdominal fat percentage declined in a linear manner with each increment of SAA added to diets containing 160 to 200 g protein/kg. Adding methionine to diets containing 240 or 280 g protein/kg did not affect abdominal fat content. A lower limit of abdominal fat was achieved with a protein concentration of 240 g/kg.

5. It is concluded that the requirement for SAA of finishing broiler chickens is directly related to protein content at concentrations of 200 or more g protein/kg but increases per unit of protein at lower protein concentrations when a minimum lysine concentration is specified. Abdominal fat content reaches a minimum between 200 and 240 g protein/kg of a maize‐soyabean meal diet regardless of SAA content.  相似文献

Three experiments were conducted on male broiler chickens between one and three weeks of age to determine their response to dietary lysine concentrations. Serial dilutions of a summit diet shown to be first-limiting in lysine were fed in all experiments. The balance between amino acids in these diets was maintained within narrow limits. Intake of the most-limiting amino acid was the most important factor determining growth rate; protein intake as such was of little or no importance. The efficiency of utilisation of dietary lysine for protein growth was calculated to be 65.05 mg/g protein gain, representing a net efficiency of 0.85. The diet dilution technique overcomes the major disadvantage of the graded supplementation method for determining the requirements of amino acids, namely that of the amino acid balance changing systematically in successive dietary treatments.  相似文献

为了研究日粮不同代谢能和赖氨酸水平对AA肉鸡生长性能和屠宰性能的影响,试验选用160只1日龄AA公雏,随机分为5个处理,每个处理32个重复,每重复1只鸡,实行单笼饲养。试验采用2因子(代谢能和赖氨酸)×2水平(低于和高于对照组)随机区组设计,设1个对照组(代谢能参照NRC,1994),2个代谢能水平分别为12.97、13.81MJ/kg;2个赖氨酸水平0~3周龄分别为1.0%、1.2%,4~6周龄分别为0.9%、1.1%,对照组代谢能水平0~6周龄为13.39MJ/kg,赖氨酸水平0~3周龄为1.1%,4~6周龄为1.0%。42日龄屠宰,试验结果表明:①日粮代谢能水平从12.97MJ/kg提高到13.81MJ/kg,肉鸡平均体重增加12.67%,饲料转化率升高7%(P<0.01);日粮赖氨酸水平提高20%,体重显著增加12.38%(P<0.05),饲料转化率升高3.84%(P<0.01);日粮代谢能和赖氨酸对饲料转化率有显著的互作效应(P<0.05);②随着代谢能水平的提高,屠体重、全净膛重、胸肌重、腿肌重、腹脂重和腹脂率相应提高,高能组显著高于中、低能组(P<0.05),赖氨酸水平对屠体重、全净膛重、胸肌重和胸肌率产生极显著的影响(P<0.01),与低赖氨酸组相比,高赖氨酸日粮组肉鸡屠体重增加12.33%、全净膛重增加12.62%、胸肌重增加28.53%、胸肌率提高3.11%,代谢能和赖氨酸水平对肉鸡腹脂重有显著的互作效应(P<0.05);③日粮代谢能水平为13.81MJ/kg,赖氨酸水平0~3周龄为1.2%、4~6周龄为1.1%时AA肉鸡获得最佳生产性能和屠宰性能,与实际生产中应用的NRC(1994)代谢能和赖氨酸水平相比,AA肉鸡多赢利1.44元/只。  相似文献

1. Growth rates and carcase characteristics were measured in male broiler chickens fed on a control diet deficient in methionine (c. 2·8 g/kg methionine) or a series of diets containing graded levels of betaine or DL-methionine or both additives. 2. We aimed to answer 2 main questions. First, can betaine replace part of the methionine in a broiler ration? Secondly, is there a synergism between methionine and betaine? 3. Birds given the control diet or that supplemented only with betaine ate less, grew more slowly, had higher food convension ratio (FCR) and varied more in mass at 42 d than birds fed diets with DL-methionine. Adding 1·2 g/kg DL-methionine to the control ration produced the heaviest birds at 42 d (2500 g) with the 2nd heaviest breast muscle (366 g). 4. After correcting for treatment differences in body mass (analysis of convariance), birds fed on the control diet and the diet supplemented with betaine only, had relatively lighter breast muscles but relatively heavier abdominal fat pads than those of birds given diets supplemented with DL-methionine. However, adding betaine to diets containing added methionine further improved the relative breast muscle yield. 5. After correcting for differences in body mass between treatments, birds fed on diets containing most methionine had lighter viscera than birds fed diets deficient in methionine. This demonstrated gut plasticity, suggesting that the viscera enlarged to sequester methionine from low-methionine diets. 6. Our data refute the hypothesis that betaine can substitute for methionine in broilers fed diets that are marginally deficient in methionine plus cystine. However, betaine may improve carcase composition, especially breast meat yield.  相似文献

1. Experiments were conducted independently at two stations to measure the requirement for methionine in chick diets with crude protein (CP) varying in 8 steps from 140 to 280 g/kg diet (experiment 1) or from 90 to 300 g/kg (experiment 2). 2. Protein composition was the same at all protein concentrations within a trial. The diet was designed to be first-limiting in methionine and DL-methionine was added to provide 5 ratios of methionine to CP at each protein concentration. 3. Methionine required for maximum growth rate or maximum efficiency of food utilisation was estimated at each protein concentration by fitting a quadratic regression equation to the relevant data. The requirement was also estimated by fitting the Reading model to data for growth rate and methionine intake. 4. In both trials and by all three methods of estimation, the methionine requirement (g/kg diet) for maximum performance increased as a linear function of dietary CP concentration and nearly in direct proportion to CP. 5. It is concluded that diets which contain surplus protein, beyond that needed to maximise growth rate or food efficiency, need supplementation with methionine beyond that required when dietary protein is just adequate. A suitable rule for practical formulation is that methionine concentration in chick diets should be not less than 0.025 times the dietary CP concentration.  相似文献

An experiment using broiler chicks up to 3 weeks of age was conducted to examine the use of corn (Zea mays), Glenlea, Pitic 62, 13.5%‐protein Neepawa and 19.7%‐protein Neepawa wheats (Triticum aestivum L) as ingredients in broiler diets. Two dietary protein contents (calculated as 18.5 and 23.0%) with and without supplementary lysine (0.3%) were used in the diets containing each of the five grains. The desired dietary protein contents were obtained by varying the proportions of the grains and soybean meal.

Grain, dietary protein and added dietary lysine significantly affected body weights and efficiencies of food conversion.

Significant first‐order interactions between grain x protein, grain x lysine and protein x lysine were found for both body weights and efficiencies of food conversion and resulted mainly from responses obtained with the 19.7%‐protein Neepawa wheat supplemented with lysine when compared with the responses obtained to the other grains. When substituted into the higher‐protein diet, supplemented with lysine, the 19.7%‐protein Neepawa wheat supported a similar performance in chicks to other grains fed under similar conditions.  相似文献

本试验研究了日粮中不同水平的蛋氨酸、赖氨酸含量对罗曼肉鸡的腹脂重、腹脂率、胴体脂肪、蛋白及水分含量等胴体指标的影响。结果表明,在日粮含1.0%,1.05%,1.30%及1.45%的各赖氨酸水平下,肉鸡的饲料转化率(F/G),增重及上述几项胴体指标无显著差异(P>0.05)。至于日粮含0.30%,0.45%,0.60%及0.75%的各蛋氨酸水平,对肉鸡饲料转化率、增重、胴体水份、蛋白及脂肪率均无显著差异(P>0.05)。脂肪率及腹脂重在0.45%及0.60%的水平组,显著低于0.30%的水平组(P<0.01及P<0.05);0.45%,0.75%及0.60%的水平组间无差异(P<0.05%);0.30%与0.75%的水平组间差异不显著(P>0.05)。胴体干物质中的脂肪率在0.30%及0.60%的处理间存在显著差异(P<0.05),其它水平问的差异不显著,胴体脂肪率随日粮中蛋氨酸水平升高而降低。处理间的采食量无显著差异。以活重与F/G为营养需要的衡量指标,蛋白为20%,代谢能为2.9兆卡/千克的日粮,其蛋氨酸为0.30%,赖氨酸为1.04%是可行的。对于蛋白合成效率高,脂肪沉积少的肉鸡,日粮中的蛋氨酸水平应提高到0.60%。根据获得最佳胴体品质提出的蛋氨酸需要量比根据增重推荐的需要量要高。  相似文献

1. A total of 2560 male and female Ross broilers were raised to 42 days of age in a 2 × 2 treatment factorial arrangement experiment to investigate the influence of different degrees of physical activity and dietary energy on broiler performance, abdominal fat content, carcase yield and sensory quality.

2. Vertical fans were used to force the treatment birds to walk 3 to 4 times as far as the normal activity birds; birds were fed a normal and a high energy diet (12.55 compared with 13.81 MJ ME/kg) with the same energy/protein, energy/lysine and energy/methionine + cystine ratios.

3. High activity birds had greater body weight ( + 4.1%), food intake ( + 5.1%) and ME intake ( + 5.1%) than normal activity birds. Birds receiving high energy diet had a lower food conversion and food intake than birds receiving normal energy diet. There were no significant differences in body weight or ME intake between birds with different diets.

4. Slaughter yields, both absolute and relative to live body weight, were affected by activity or dietary energy to varying degrees. Breast meat was increased with more activity. The absolute weight of abdominal fat was independent of activity and in males the relative weight of abdominal fat was decreased in high activity birds.

5. Different degrees of activity and dietary energy had only minor influences on broilers' sensory quality.  相似文献

Effects of dietary spirulina on meat colour in muscle of broiler chickens.   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
1. The present study was undertaken to determine the effects of dietary spirulina on growth performance and pigmentation in the muscle of growing broiler chickens and to examine the possibility that zeaxanthin in spirulina may affect yellow colour development in the meat. 2. Twenty-four, 21-d-old, male broiler chicks were fed an experimental diet containing spirulina at 0, 40, or 80 g/ kg for 16 d. No significant differences among treatments were observed in body weights, nor weights or yields (as a percentage of body weight) for any of the selected traits, including liver, abdominal fat, kidney and Pectoralis profundus. 3. Spectrocolourimetric analyses revealed that the redness of Pectoralis superficialis, profundus and Sartorius muscles reached a maximum in chicks fed the 40 g/kg spirulina diet, while the yellowness of all fillets, including the Semitendinosus muscle, increased in a sub-linear fashion with increased spirulina in the diet. The overall correlation between the yellowness and zeaxanthin content in the Pectoralis muscle was significant. 4. This study provides the first conclusive evidence that dietary spirulina influences both the yellowness and redness of broiler flesh and that the increments in yellowness with dietary spirulina content may possibly be reflected in the common yellow pigment related to the accumulation of zeaxanthin within the flesh.  相似文献
