The effects of several moderate irrigation regimes on vine water status, yield, and must and wine composition, were investigated during five seasons in a vineyard planted with Vitis vinifera cv. Tempranillo. Treatments consisted of non-irrigated vines and six differentially irrigated treatments with contrasting watering regimes during the pre-veraison and post-veraison periods. There were large differences in yield and grape and wine quality responses to irrigation among seasons, probably as consequence of the different environmental conditions and crop levels. It was, however, clear that vines benefit more of the irrigation supplied in years of high yield levels. Across seasons, yield increased in proportion to the amount of water applied mostly due to the larger berries of irrigated vines, and there was no clear response to the timing of irrigation supplied. In addition, there were no carry over effects due to irrigation on bud fertility. The post-veraison water application was necessary to increase must sugar level and wine alcohol content. However, water restrictions during the pre-veraison period lead to more concentrated berries in terms of total phenolic and anthocyanins. The only noticeable detrimental effect of irrigation, regardless of the timing of its application, on wine composition was an increase in wine pH.  相似文献

Adoption of water-saving irrigation strategies is necessary especially for grapevine that has the highest acreage of any fruit crop in the world. We applied deficit irrigation to Chardonnay wine grape at the following phenological stages: anthesis to fruit set, fruit set to veraison, and veraison to harvest. Four irrigation levels (0, 25, 50, and 100?% of crop evapotranspiration, ET c ) were applied in 2009. Vines grown in large containers were used to enable imposition of water stress early in the growing season. The following parameters were measured: midday leaf water potential, vine growth, yield, and quality of must and wine. The same parameters were measured in 2010 although all vines were fully irrigated. The 0 and 25?% treatments caused defoliation and had negative impacts on yield and wine quality in both 2009 and 2010. Chardonnay was most sensitive to water stress in post-veraison in terms of productivity and wine quality.  相似文献

This paper reports the effects of irrigation amount and partial rootzone drying (PRD) on water relations, growth, yield and wine quality of Vitis vinifera cv. ‘Tempranillo’ during two consecutive years in a commercial vineyard with a deep, light-clay soil located in Requena, Valencia, Spain. Partial rootzone drying applied at two amounts (100% and 50% of the estimated crop evapotranspiration), was compared to conventional drip irrigation, and also to rainfed vines. Results showed that the effects of irrigation amount on yield and wine quality were different between years. In 2003 with low yield values (around 6.3 t ha−1) irrigation did neither affect grape production nor wine quality. However, in the following year, with much higher general yield (17 t ha−1), the high irrigation dose increased yield by 30% compared to rainfed vines and it also increased must total soluble solids and wine alcohol content. In both seasons, PRD did not significantly affect physiological parameters, nor growth, yield or fruit and wine quality, when compared to the same amount of water applied by conventional drip irrigation. Overall these results suggest that, under our experimental conditions, it was the irrigation amount rather than the system of application what affected vine performance, indicating the difficulties of successfully employing the PRD type of irrigation with a drip system in heavy and deep soils.  相似文献

There are still some traditional vine-growing areas in Spain in which water-stressed vines are considered to produce berries with the highest quality must. To assess vine response to water availability, measured in terms of crop yield, vegetative development, and grape composition, five different irrigation treatments were evaluated over a five-year period in a Cabernet-Sauvignon vineyard in the Madrid region (Spain): no-irrigation (T0), water provided at 20?% of the reference evapotranspiration (ETo) (T20), water provided at 45?% of the ETo (T45), water provided at 20?% of the ETo until veraison and at 45?% thereafter (T20-45), and water provided at 45?% until veraison and 20?% thereafter (T45-20). A yield increment was observed with increasing water volumes. The T45 vines returned a consistent yield of around 8 t/ha, and a mean shoot weight of 30–50?g. The T0 and T20 plants showed reduced yields and vegetative growth in most years (yields being the most acutely affected). Berry weight was the yield component most influenced by water availability. In years of low rainfall, fertility was markedly reduced in the T0 vines. Providing a smaller irrigation volume before or after veraison (the T20-45 and T45-20 treatments) led to reductions in berry weight, cluster weight, and shoot weight over the last 3?years of the trial. Berry composition was almost unaffected by irrigation strategy. Taking into account yield, water use efficiency, and berry composition, the T45-20 treatment was the most efficient irrigation strategy.  相似文献

The effect of using treated wastewater for irrigation of table grapes (Vitis vinifera cv. Superior Seedless) was studied for six seasons. The experimental vineyard was grown on clay loam soil in a semi-arid area. Treated wastewater (5.83 meq L?1 Na+) with (TWW + F) and without (TWW) fertilizer, and fresh water with fertilizer (FW + F, 2.97 meq L?1 Na+), were each applied at three irrigation levels (80, 60 and 40 % of crop evapotranspiration before harvest). Root zone (0–60 cm soil depth) soil saturated paste extract Na+ concentrations and sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) values fluctuated over the years, but generally decreased in the order TWW > TWW + F > FW + F for each irrigation level. Both Na+ concentrations and SAR values developed faster and to a greater extent at higher irrigation. Adding fertilizer to TWW decreased Na+ and SAR only at the high irrigation level. Na+ concentrations in the trunk wood, bark and xylem sap of the TWW and TWW + F irrigated vines were significantly higher than those in the FW + F-irrigated vines. Leaf petiole Na+ content increased with time and its maximum value in TWW and TWW + F irrigated vines exceeded 6,500 mg kg?1, threefold higher than in FW + F irrigated vines. We conclude that in clay soils under relatively high irrigation, Na+ may pose a greater potential risk to plants and soil rather than Cl? or salinity per se. However, significant effects on yield were not recorded during this six-year study probably due to the high salinity tolerance of the ‘Paulsen’ rootstock used in the experiment.  相似文献

A field experiment was carried out over three seasons on Vitis vinifera cv. Tempranillo in order to compare pre-veraison and post-veraison water restrictions on vine performance and fruit composition. Rain-fed vines were compared with a treatment named MAX that was constantly irrigated at 75?% of the estimated crop evapotranspiration (ETc). In addition, an early (pre-veraison) water deficit strategy (ED) was applied by withholding irrigation until plant water stress experienced by vines surpassed a threshold value of midday stem water potential of ?1.0?MPa. After that, 75?% of ETc was applied. A late season deficit (LD) treatment was irrigated as per the MAX up to veraison, and thereafter, water application was reduced to approximately 37?% of ETc. All irrigation regimes increased vine yield up to 58?% with respect to the rain-fed treatment, and no differences in yield among the irrigated treatments occurred. However, there were differences in berry composition among the different irrigation strategies. The ED strategy was more effective than the LD one in reducing berry growth leading to more concentrated berries in terms of sugars and anthocyanins. The LD water shortage impaired berry sugar accumulation due to the detrimental effect of water stress on leaf photosynthesis.  相似文献

The effects of regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) and partial root-zone irrigation (PRI) strategies that apply the same irrigation volumes on vegetative and reproductive development were analyzed during a 3-year-period in field-grown Monastrell grapevines under semiarid conditions. Five treatments were applied: control irrigated at 60?% ETc (crop evapotranspiration) for the whole season (308?mm?year?1); RDI-1 and PRI-1 that received the same irrigation as the control before fruit set, 30?% ETc from fruit set to harvest and 45?% ETc post-harvest (192?mm?year?1); and RDI-2 and PRI-2 that were the same, except with 15?% ETc from fruit set to harvest (142?mm?year?1). Distinctive PRI effects on vegetative and reproductive development were observed depending on the total soil water content and the vine water stress level. PRI-1 vines showed less restriction of vegetative growth, lower leaf abscission, and higher leaf area during post-veraison than RDI-1 vines. Higher supply of water (close to field capacity) via half of the root system in PRI-1 vines maintained better water supply and more favorable phloem sap flow (water and carbohydrates) into the fruit during post-veraison and showed a positive differential effect on fruit growth compared with RDI-1 vines. This was reflected in a higher solute content per berry (12?% higher) and higher fresh berry weight (8?% higher) at harvest in PRI-1 compared to RDI-1 berries. However, this positive effect in fruit growth was not reflected in either an improved final yield or the water use efficiency of PRI-1 vines. In PRI-2, the soil water in the wet half was insufficient to maintain more favorable shoot water supply and phloem sap flow into the berry, and no substantial changes were observed in vine vigor, leaf and fruit growth between PRI-2 and RDI-2. Higher irrigation amount in the wet root zone and higher depth of irrigation under PRI seem to be more effective for 1103P–Mourvedre combination to produce a favorable effect in berry growth and development.  相似文献

Based on a field study on the semi-arid Loess Plateau of China, the strategies of limited irrigation in farmland in dry-period of normal-precipitation years are studied, and the effects on water use and grain yield of spring wheat of dry-period irrigation and fertilizer application when sowing are examined. The study includes four treatments: (1) with 90 mm dry-period irrigation but without fertilizer application (W); (2) with fertilizer application but without dry-period irrigation (F); (3) with 90 mm dry-period irrigation plus fertilizer application (WF); (4) without dry-period irrigation and fertilizer application (CK). The results indicate that dry-period irrigation resulted in larger and deeper root systems and larger leaf area index (LAI) compared with the non-irrigated treatments. The root/shoot ratio (R/S) in the irrigated treatments was significantly higher than in the non-irrigated treatments. The grain yields in F, W and WF are 1509, 2712 and 3291 kg ha−1, respectively, which are 13.7, 104.3 and 147.9% higher than that (1328 kg ha−1) of CK, and at the same time the grain yields in W and WF are also significantly higher than in F. Water use efficiencies (WUE) in terms of grain yield are 5.70 and 6.91 kg ha−1 mm−1 in W and WF, respectively, being 65.7 and 101.1% higher than that (3.44 kg ha−1 mm−1) of CK. The highest WUE and grain yield consistently occurred in WF, suggesting that the combination of dry-period irrigation and fertilizer application has a beneficial effect on improving WUE and grain yield of spring wheat.  相似文献

As sources of irrigation water are decreasing, efficient use of surface irrigation is essential. The purpose of this study is to determine if partially-wetted furrow irrigation has more efficient water storage and infiltration than traditional border irrigation in an alluvial clay soil under cultivated grape production. The two irrigation components considered were wet (WT) and dry (DT) treatments, at which water was applied when available soil water reached 65 % and 50 %, and the traditional border irrigation control. Empirical power form equations were obtained for measured advance and recession times along the furrow length during the irrigation stages of advance, storage, depletion and recession. Coefficient of variation (CV) was 5.2 and 9.5 % for WT and DT under furrow irrigation system comparing with 7.8 % in border, respectively. Water was deeply percolated as 11.9 and 19.2 % for wet and dry furrow treatments respectively, compared with 12.8 % for control, with no deficit in the irrigated area. Partially-wetted furrow irrigation had greater water-efficiency and grape yield than dry furrow and traditional border irrigation, where application efficiency achieved as 88.1 % for wet furrow irrigation that achieved high grape fruit yield (30.71 Mg /ha). The infiltration (cumulative depth, Z and rate, I) was functioned to opportunity time (t 0 ) in minute for WT and DT treatments as: Z WT ?=?0.528?t 0 0.6, Z DT ?=?1.2?t 0 0.501, I WT ?=?19?t 0 ?0.4, I DT ?=?36?t 0 ?0.498. Empirical power form equations were obtained for measured advance and recession times along the furrow length during the irrigation stages of advance, storage, depletion and recession. The irrigation parameters and coefficients, and soil water distribution have been also evaluated.  相似文献

A field study was conducted at North Platte, Nebraska in 2007–2009, imposing eight irrigation treatments, ranging from dryland to fully irrigated. Four of the eight treatments allowed for various degrees of water stress only after tasseling and silking. In 2007, corn yield ranged from 8.9 Mg ha?1 with a season total of 41 mm of irrigation water to 11.5 Mg ha?1 for the fully irrigated treatment (264 mm of irrigation water). The treatment with the greatest reduction in irrigation water after tasseling and silking (158 mm) had a mean yield of 10.9 Mg ha?1, only 0.6 Mg ha?1 less than the fully irrigated treatment. In 2009, yields ranged from 12.6 to 13.5 Mg ha?1. There were no significant yield differences between the irrigation treatments for several possible reasons: more in-season precipitation and cooler weather required less irrigation water; much of the irrigation water was applied after the most water-stress sensitive stages of tasseling and silking; and lower atmospheric demand allowed for soil water contents well below 50 % management allowed depletion (MAD) not to cause any yield losses.

The interactions between irrigation rates applied during the oil accumulation stage and crop load were studied in a six-year-old very-high-density Koroneiki (Olea europaea L.) orchard. Five irrigation rates, determined as thresholds of midday stem water potential, were applied from July 1st until harvest in 2008 and 2009 and from July 1st to the end of September in 2010. Oil yield increased with increasing crop load in all the irrigation treatments. Oil yield did not respond to increasing irrigation at very low crop load and the higher the crop load the higher the response to irrigation. There was no response to irrigation at the lowest crop loads, but the higher the irrigation rate the higher the oil yield at high crop loads. The predicted commercial oil yield at common fruit counts increased from 1.99 t/ha at the lowest irrigation rate to 3.06 t/ha at the highest irrigation rate. Stomatal conductance decreased with decreasing stem water potential but leveled off at 30–60 mmol m?2 s?1 at stem water potential values lower than ?4.0 MPa. High crop load increased stomatal conductance and decreased stem water potential relative to low crop load at low and medium irrigation rates. The effect of crop load on water relations became evident by the end of August and was well pronounced at the beginning of October. Physiological and irrigation water management implications related to the interactions between tree water status and crop load are discussed.  相似文献

Yield and nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) of wheat was investigated under field conditions using two types of irrigation waters with and without nitrogen on a sandy-loam to loamy-sand soil during 1992–1993 and 1993–1994. Depending upon different nitrogen treatments, the mean crop yield ranges in 1992–1993 were: grain yield 6.19–6.87 Mg ha and biomass 15.41–16.34 Mg ha−1 receiving treated effluent. The mean crop yield ranges in 1993–1994 were: grain yield 0.46–3.23 Mg ha−1 (well water) and 5.20–6.54 Mg ha−1 (treated effluent); and biomass 1.84–10.80 Mg ha−1 (well water), and 16.00–19.29 Mg ha−1 (treated effluent). The NUE for grain yield in 1992–1993 was between 16.70–50.23 kg kg−1 N (well water) and 20.65–91.56 kg kg−1 N (treated effluent). Whereas the NUE in 1993-94, varied between 10.49–32.13 kg grain kg−1 N (well water) and 21.30–72.93 kg grain kg−1 N (treated effluent). The NUE for total biomass in 1992–1993 varied between 46.54–130.32 kg kg−1 N (well water) and 53.66–158.77 kg kg−1 N (treated effluent). Similarly, the NUE in 1993–1994 varied between 35.99–102.1 kg biomass kg−1 N (well water) and 59.27–161.89 kg biomass kg−1 N (treated effluent). A significant decrease in NUE was observed with increasing nitrogen application both for grain and biomass production. In conclusion, a higher grain yield and NUE of wheat crop can be achieved with low application rates of nitrogen if the crop is irrigated with treated effluent containing nitrogen in the range of 20 mg L−1 and above.  相似文献

A study was conducted in the San Joaquin Valley of California on Merlot to determine the interaction of applied water amounts [at 0.4, 0.8, and 1.2 of estimated vineyard evapotranspiration (ETc)] and leaf removal (at berry set or veraison) in the fruiting zone on productivity. Shaded area was measured beneath the canopy of the 1.2 irrigation treatment at solar noon throughout the study to provide an estimate of seasonal crop coefficients (K c). Vine water status was assessed across treatments and years by measuring midday leaf water potential (Ψl). The maximum K c determined from the percent shaded area was 0.7 at the row spacing of 3.66?m and canopy type that developed a “California Sprawl.” Irrigation treatment had a significant effect on midday Ψl and no such effect for leaf removal. Clusters exposed to direct solar radiation had significantly higher temperatures and lower cluster Ψ than clusters in the shade. Irrigation treatment had a significant effect on berry weight, soluble solids, and titratable acidity. Yields of vines significantly increased as applied water amounts increased. In this wine grape production area, profitability is dependent upon yield. This study provided a reliable estimate of ETc and applied water amounts to maximize yield.  相似文献

Recent studies have revealed complex interactions among grapevine rootstocks, soil water status, and water quality in terms of yield and growth. Understanding these interactions is essential to optimise yield and its quality, especially in regions with limited or degraded water resources. Thus, a study was conducted to investigate the effect of rootstock (41B, 1103P, and 110R), irrigation level (0.50, 0.75 and 1.00 of ET, evapotranspiration), and water quality (fresh and recycled water) on vegetative characteristics and on yield quantitative and qualitative components of potted Soultanina vines for a 3-year-period. Vine growth was inhibited by irrigation with recycled water and that inhibition became more severe by increasing the irrigation level and from one season to the next season. Furthermore, recycled water reduced yield by 50% and grape juice from these vines exhibited higher pH and titratable acidity values and lower total soluble solids. Rootstock significantly affected shoot growth, an effect which varied with age and within the growing season. Vines grafted on 41B developed more leaf area and produced higher yield than vines grafted on the other two rootstocks. Decreasing in the irrigation level dramatically reduced all vegetative parameters without affecting fruit quality and yield components. A significant interaction was detected between rootstock and irrigation level in terms of yield. Vines on 41B produced the highest yield of vines irrigated at 1.00 ET, and produced higher yields than vines grafted on 110R when irrigated at 0.75 ET, but the differences in yield among rootstocks disappeared at the 0.50 ET level.  相似文献

This paper describes the assessment of the crop coefficient of an irrigated Tempranillo vineyard measured in a weighing lysimeter during 5?years in south-western Spain. During the first year of the study (2006), young vines displayed a different canopy growth compared to the subsequent years. From 2007 to 2010, vines experienced 2?years with no restriction in water supply, and two other years with short periods of crop water stress. Basal crop coefficient (K cb) started from 0.2 at bud-break until 1.0 at full development in every year, being this maximum management-dependent. K cb showed a good correlation with canopy size indices, which allows to interpolate these results to a wide range of commercial vine systems that are usually managed with lower vegetation size. Moreover, a simple linear model of crop evapotranspiration reduction with relative water content is presented, allowing the estimation of consumptive water use under deficit irrigation conditions.  相似文献

Cost-benefit analysis was performed to determine the profitability of producing wine grapes under different irrigation regimes. Vines irrigated by regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) and partial root-zone drying (PRD) were compared with vines grown under full irrigation in a typical vineyard in a semiarid environment with scarce water resources (south-eastern Spain) during three consecutive years. Five irrigation treatments were applied. The Control treatment irrigated at 60% of the ETc (Crop evapotranspiration) throughout the orchard cycle. PRD-1 and RDI-1 provided deficit irrigation from fruit set to harvest (irrigated 30% ETc) and post-harvest (45% ETc). PRD-2 and RDI-2 provided deficit irrigation from fruit set to harvest (irrigated 15% ETc) and post-harvest (45% ETc). From an economic point of view, only the Control, PRD-1 and RDI-1 treatments were economically viable since their profitability indicators were positive, although low, especially PRD-1. The more severe deficit irrigated treatments (PRD-2 and RDI-2) were unviable. The most profitable treatment was the Control which had a Net Margin/total cost ratio (NM/C) (representing the overall profitability of the vineyard) of 25.37% compared with the 1.90% of RDI-1 and 0.57% of PRD-1. The threshold price of water indicates that only the Control remains profitable with higher water prices of up to 0.46 € m−3. When the cost-benefit analysis took into account the extra quality achieved in PRD-2 and RDI-2, it indicated that these treatments, which were otherwise economically unviable, achieved high returns (17 and 16%, respectively) and were close to the Control treatment. Thus, a low or moderate bonus that encourages extra berry quality for premium wine production would make deficit irrigation practices profitable. Moreover, the financial indices estimated suggest that in the present situation, and with our soil and climatic conditions, PRD is less economically profitable (higher installation cost, lower NM/C, and threshold price of water) than RDI under the same conditions.  相似文献

Research on crop response to deficit irrigation is important to reduce agricultural water use in areas where water is a limited resource. Two field experiments were conducted on a loam soil in northeast Spain to characterize the response of maize (Zea mays L.) to deficit irrigation under surface irrigation. The growing season was divided into three phases: vegetative, flowering and grain filling. The irrigation treatments consisted of all possible combinations of full irrigation or limited irrigation in the three phases. Limited irrigation was applied by increasing the interval between irrigations. Soil water status, crop growth, above-ground biomass, yield and its components were measured. Results showed that flowering was the most sensitive stage to water deficit, with reductions in biomass, yield and harvest index. Average grain yield of treatments with deficit irrigation around flowering (691 g m−2) was significantly lower than that of the well-irrigated treatments (1069 g m(2). Yield reduction was mainly due to a lower number of grains per square metre. Deficit irrigation or higher interval between irrigations during the grain filling phase did not significantly affect crop growth and yield. It was possible to maintain relatively high yields in maize if small water deficits caused by increasing the interval between irrigations were limited to periods other than the flowering stage. Irrigation water use efficiency (IWUE) was higher in treatments fully irrigated around flowering.  相似文献

The potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is widely planted in the Middle Anatolian Region, especially in the Nigde-Nevsehir district where 25% of the total potato growing area is located and produces 44% of the total yield. In recent years, the farmers in the Nigde-Nevsehir district have been applying high amounts of nitrogen (N) fertilizers (sometimes more than 900 kg N ha−1) and frequent irrigation at high rates in order to get a much higher yield. This situation results in increased irrigation and fertilization costs as well as polluted ground water resources and soil. Thus, it is critical to know the water and nitrogen requirements of the crop, as well as how to improve irrigation efficiency. Field experiments were conducted in the Nigde-Nevsehir (arid) region on a Fluvents (Entisols) soil to determine water and nitrogen requirements of potato crops under sprinkler and trickle irrigation methods. Irrigation treatments were based on Class A pan evaporation and nitrogen levels were formed with different nitrogen concentrations. The highest yield, averaging 47,505 kg ha−1, was measured in sprinkler-irrigated plots at the 60 g m−3 nitrogen concentration level in the irrigation treatment with limited irrigation (480 mm). Statistically higher tuber yields were obtained at the 45 and 60 g m−3 nitrogen concentration levels in irrigation treatments with full and limited irrigation. Maximum yields were obtained with about 17% less water in the sprinkler method as compared to the trickle method (not statistically significant). On the loam and sandy loam soils, tuber yields were reduced by deficit irrigation corresponding to 70% and 74% of evapotranspiration in sprinkler and trickle irrigations, respectively. Water use of the potato crop ranged from 490 to 760 mm for sprinkler-irrigated plots and 565–830 mm for trickle-irrigated treatments. The highest water use efficiency (WUE) levels of 7.37 and 4.79 kg m−3 were obtained in sprinkle and trickle irrigated plots, respectively. There were inverse effects of irrigation and nitrogen levels on the WUE of the potato crops. Significant linear relationships were found between tuber yield and water use for both irrigation methods. Yield response factors were calculated at 1.05 for sprinkler methods and 0.68 for trickle methods. There were statistically significant linear and polynomial relationships between tuber yield and nitrogen amounts used in trickle and sprinkler-irrigated treatments, respectively. In sprinkler-irrigated treatments, the maximum tuber yield was obtained with 199 kg N ha−1. The tuber cumulative nitrogen use efficiency (NUEcu) and incremental nitrogen use efficiency (NUEin) were affected quite differently by water, nitrogen levels and years. NUEcu varied from 16 to 472 g kg−1 and NUEin varied from 75 to 1035 g kg−1 depending on the irrigation method. In both years, the NH4-N concentrations were lower than NO3-N, and thus the removed nitrogen and nitrogen losses were found to be 19–87 kg ha−1 for sprinkler methods and 25–89 kg ha−1 for trickle methods. Nitrogen losses in sprinkler methods reached 76%, which were higher than losses in trickle methods.  相似文献

Wetting plant foliage with saline irrigation increases the uptake of toxic ions Na+ and Cl. Over three consecutive seasons, Colombard vines grafted on Ramsey rootstock were irrigated with saline water (EC 3.5 dS/m) by over-canopy sprinklers during any one of the first three of the four annual growth stages: bud burst to full bloom (treatment BB-FB), full bloom to veraison (treatment FB-V), and veraison to harvest (treatment V-H). At other times, vines received non-saline water (EC 0.5 dS/m) as did the control. Seasonal average soil salinities remained relatively constant over the trial. In contrast, the concentrations of Na+ and Cl in one-year old wood and grape juice more than doubled. In treatments FB-V and V-H the average yield over the three seasons was reduced by up to 15%. Results were compared with those obtained in an earlier study which was undertaken in the same vineyard with the same treatments applied via dripper. With drippers, the maximum reduction in the average yield over three seasons was 2%. Saline sprinkling caused rises in Na+ and Cl concentrations of fruit, leaf lamina and one-year-old wood that were at least 7-fold, 5-fold and 2-fold greater, respectively, than the rises caused by application of the same treatments with drip. Progressive seasonal rises in the concentrations of Na+ and Cl in these tissues were due in part to carryover of salt added in previous seasons; with saline sprinkling the magnitude of these carryovers was 4-fold greater than those with saline drip irrigation. With saline water, vignerons can reduce losses by using irrigation systems which do not wet the foliage.  相似文献
