Spermatophore and sperm quality of male Argentine red shrimp Pleoticus muelleri held under laboratory conditions was evaluated using compound spermatophore weight, sperm count and percentage of live sperm as indicators. Thirty-seven males of S to 20 g wet weight were held indoors in a 3-m diameter circular fiberglass tank for 45 d. They were fed fresh squid, clam and pelletized diet. Spermato-phores were obtained by manual ejaculations. Four shrimps were re-ejaculated to verify the subsequent spermatophore regeneration. Spermatophore mean weights were significantly lower for 5–10 g males than for 15–20 g males ( r = 0.998) (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in sperm count and percent live sperm among the different weight classes (5–15 g, 15–20 g, 20–25 g). The sperm count varied from 2.22 to 5.62 million. No change in sperm quality was seen in re-ejaculated individuals. During the first 2 wk of the experiment, the spermatophores exhibited healthy morphology and colour; by the fifth week evidence of spermatophore deterioration was apparent. Despite the degree of melanization, sperm quality was not affected and the high variability in sperm count indicated that the artificial ejaculation is adequate in this species. 相似文献

Protein isolates from hydrolyzed and unhydrolyzed shrimp waste were prepared using the pH shift method. The conditions for protein isolation from unhydrolyzed shrimp waste by the pH shift method were standardized with respect to waste to distilled water ratio (1:2.5, 1:5, 1:7.5, and 1:10 w/v) and the alkaline pH (9.0, 10.0, and 11.0) to which the waste was to be adjusted before protein precipitation for higher yield of protein isolate. The yield of precipitate with waste to distilled water ratio of 1:2.5 (17.3 ± 0.9) was lower (p < 0.05) compared to the other three dilutions. The pH to which the waste is adjusted before precipitating the proteins at pH 4.5 had no effect (p > 0.05) on the yield. The antioxidant activity of the protein isolate obtained by the pH shift method from unhydrolyzed waste was compared with that obtained from the waste hydrolyzed with Alcalase®. The DPPH scavenging activity of protein isolate after enzyme hydrolysis was significantly higher than that of protein isolate from unhydrolyzed waste. With respect to recovery of total antioxidant activity, protein isolation from unhydrolyzed waste was superior to hydrolyzed waste due to higher yield. 相似文献

The aim of the present study was to determine the effects of natural antioxidant extract isolated from the shells of giant red shrimp (Aristaeomorpha foliacea) on the changes in fatty acid profile of anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus) during refrigerated storage (2.7°C). Total antioxidant activity of shell extract was determined as 45.84%, total phenolic compound as 17.87 mg/100 g shell, and total carotenoid content in shell as 20.31 mg/100 g shell. Total saturated fatty acid (SFA), monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA), and polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) contents in the control group and the group with 0.1% shell extract addition were found to be affected by the duration of storage (p < 0.05). A percentage increase was determined in MUFA content, while decreases were observed in PUFA content. No statistically significant change was detected in SFA, MUFA, and PUFA contents of groups with added butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and 0.5% of shell extract (p > 0.05). It was concluded that the extract isolated from shrimp shells could be used during the cold storage of fish fillets instead of synthetic antioxidants. 相似文献

ABSTRACTAntioxidant potential, total phenolic content, and high performance liquid chromatography-based solvent extract fingerprints of phenolic constituents of brown seaweeds, Turbinaria conoides and Turbinaria ornata, were evaluated. The ethyl acetate (EtOAc) fraction of the seaweeds registered greater phenolic content and antioxidant activities. Salicylic acid, gallic acid, quercetin, and syringic acid were predominant in the EtOAc fraction of T. conoides, while the main components in EtOAc fraction of T. ornata were quercetin and salicylic acid. This study demonstrated the candidacy of Turbinaria spp. as a potential source of antioxidant phenolics for use as food supplements and nutraceuticals to deter deleterious free radical-induced disorders and diseases. 相似文献

Experiments were conducted comparing the reproductive performance of ablated female shrimp Pleoticus muelleri fed either a fresh frozen diet (ND) (clam, prawn, squid) and the same diet supplemented with 15% of an artificial diet (SD) (54% protein, 13% lipid, 7% moisture). The shrimp were maintained in 3500‐L tanks (12 h light‐12 h dark photoperiod, temperature 18–20°C, pH 7, salinity 31 g L?1, ammonium <0.2 mg L?1, and sea water exchanged at 100% per day) for 45 days. Significant differences in weight gain were determined between ablated females fed ND (37.2%) and SD (26.4%). No significant differences in the average duration of the intermolt period (19±2 days) were recorded. Females fed SD showed signs of maturation 20 days after ablation, with spawning occurring 1 day later, as long as ablated females fed ND reached maturation 4 weeks after did not occur. The number of eggs per spawn varied from 136 000 to 345 000; the percentage viability ranged between 39.3% and 99.3% with an average of 78.5%. The results indicated that a suitable formulated diet together with eyestalk ablation promotes maturation of P. muelleri in captivity. 相似文献

We have investigated the antioxidant activities of eight hydrolysates from cuttlefish by-products obtained by treatment with various gastrointestinal proteases (chymotrypsin, trypsin, and crude alkaline enzyme extracts from cuttlefish and sardinelle) and bacterial proteases (Alcalase and crude enzymes from Bacillus pumilus A1, Bacillus mojavensis A21, and Bacillus cereus BG1). The antioxidant activities of the cuttlefish by-products protein hydrolysates (CPHs) were evaluated using various in vitro antioxidant assays, such as 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical-scavenging activity, reducing power, and total antioxidant capacity. All hydrolysates showed different degrees of hydrolysis (DH) and varying degrees of antioxidant activity. Among the different hydrolysates, cuttlefish crude enzyme hydrolysate exhibited the highest antioxidant activity, followed by sardinelle crude enzyme and Alcalase hydrolysates. Further, CPHs with different degrees of hydrolysis were prepared by treatment with proteolytic enzymes from cuttlefish, sardinelle, and B. mojavensis A21. All hydrolysates showed a greater antioxidative activity as indicated by all the methods considered. In addition, antioxidant activity in hydrolysates was positively correlated with the increase of DH. The results of this study indicated that CPHs might be a good candidate for further investigation in developing new antioxidants. 相似文献

To improve the antioxidant activity of grass carp hydrolysate, washing and membrane removal pretreatments and ultrasonic treatment were applied in this study. Various pretreatment methods (washing methods and membrane removal methods) for removing the prooxidants and phospholipid in minced fish were evaluated. The effects of ultrasonic treatment prior to enzyme hydrolysis on the antioxidant activities of minced carp hydrolysate were investigated. The minced carp subjected to washing with 0.4% NaCl solution and subsequent membrane removal with CaCl2 and citric acid solution had the lowest content of prooxidants and phospholipid remaining in the minced fish. The hydrolysate produced from washing/membrane removal pretreated carp with ultrasonic treatment for 20 min had the highest ferric reducing antioxidant power and scavenging activities against 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and 2,2?-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) radicals. This suggested that the combination approach of washing/membrane removal pretreatment and ultrasonic treatment could improve the antioxidant activity of carp hydrolysate, and this hydrolysate could be a potential antioxidant ingredient for functional foods. 相似文献

In order to improve the utilization of scallop byproducts, scallop female gonad hydrolysates (SFGHs) were prepared using alcalase and ribose at a mass ratio of 1:2 and pH 7.0 (95°C, up to 12 h) to develop heterogeneous Maillard-type antioxidant and flavor compounds. The formation of Schiff’s base as well as modification of the amide bands in Maillard reaction products (MRPs) were investigated using ultraviolet–visible, fluorescence, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The significant decrease of amino acid residues explained the strong Maillard reactivity of SFGHs. MRPs with enhanced ABTS+ radical scavenging capacity over SFGHs promoted the survival of HepG2 cells treated with hydrogen peroxide. Moreover, 19 new volatile compounds were produced by the reaction of SFGHs with ribose. These results suggest that SFGHs–ribose MRPs can be potentially used as antioxidants with flavor properties.

The effect of dietary protein level and natural food management on the production parameters of blue and white shrimp, as well as on water quality, was evaluated in a microcosms system (plastic pools simulating aquaculture ponds). Two experimental trials were carried out in the facilities of DICTUS, University of Sonora, Northwest México. Treatment with low protein diet (LP) consisted of a low protein input (diet with 250 g kg?1 crude protein) through the culture period; treatment with high protein diet (HP) consisted of a high protein input (diet with 400 g kg?1 crude protein) through the trial, and finally treatment VP consisted of an adjustment of protein input (diets with 250, 350 or 400 g kg?1 crude protein), depending on the abundance of biota (zooplankton and benthos) in the system. Each species responded differently to the treatments. For blue shrimp, low protein input resulted in the lowest final body weight (12.9 ± 0.6 g) and biomass (696.0 g pool?1). Survival and feed conversion ratio were similar in the three treatments. For white shrimp, the best growth, biomass and food conversion ratio were obtained in the low protein input treatment. Water quality parameters such as nitrate, ammonia and organic matter during the two trials, were better for LP and VP treatments. White shrimp seems to have lower protein requirements than blue shrimp. For the blue shrimp culture, adjusting protein input according to natural food abundance (zooplankton and benthos) in the system, seems to be advantageous because of the possibility of getting a production similar to that obtained with a high protein input through the farming period, but at lower feed cost, and with a lower environmental impact. It is concluded that a high protein input through the whole farming period is not the best feeding strategy for any of the two species. 相似文献

The antioxidant and oxidative damage responses and immune parameters in shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, reared in clear water (CW) and in a biofloc system (BFT) were evaluated. The animals were given feed supplemented with either nanocapsules containing the antioxidant lipoic acid (NCLA) or empty nanocapsules (NC). Antioxidant and oxidative stress analyses were evaluated by measuring glutathione S‐transferase activity (GST), reduced glutathione (GSH) concentration and lipid peroxidation (TBARS) in the gills, hepatopancreas and muscle. The immune parameters were then determined by the differential hemocyte count in the haemolymph. The final weight of the shrimp reared in both CW and BFT and treated with NCLA increased (p < .05). The shrimps reared in BFT showed increased GST activity in the gills and hepatopancreas after NCLA treatment (p < .05). Higher GSH levels were observed in the hepatopancreas with NCLA supplementation in CW and BFT (p < .05). Decreased levels of TBARS were observed in the gills and muscles of shrimp supplemented with NCLA and maintained in CW (p < .05). A decrease in the percentage of hyaline hemocytes and an increase in granular hemocytes were observed in shrimp treated with NCLA in CW and BFT (p < .05). The antioxidant treatment induced positive responses in terms of the zootechnical, biochemical and immunological parameters. 相似文献

In this analysis, an atypical northward shift in the distribution of age‐1 ocean shrimp (Pandalus jordani) recruits off Oregon in 2000 and 2002–2004 was linked to anomolously strong coastal upwelling winds off southern Oregon (42°N latitude) in April–July of the year of larval release (t?1). This is the first clear evidence that strong upwelling winds can depress local recruitment of ocean shrimp. Regression analysis confirmed a long‐term negative correlation between loge of ocean shrimp recruitment and April sea level height (SLH) at Crescent City, California, in the year of larval release, for both northern and southern Oregon waters. The regional pattern of ocean shrimp catches and seasonal upwelling winds showed that, although the timing of the spring transition as reflected in April SLH drives ocean shrimp recruitment success off Oregon generally, the strength and consistency of spring upwelling limits the distribution of large concentrations of ocean shrimp at the southern end of the northern California/Oregon/Washington area. A northward shift in 1999 and 2001–03 in the northern edge of this ‘zone of maximum upwelling’ is the likely cause of the weak southern Oregon recruitment and resulting atypical distribution of ocean shrimp observed off Oregon in 2000 and 2002–04, with a return to a more typical catch distribution as spring upwelling moderated in subsequent years. It is noted that a northward shift in the conditions that produce strong and steady spring upwelling winds is consistent with many predictions of global climate models under conditions of global warming. 相似文献

对健康养殖南美白对虾胃、肝胰腺、肠道、肌肉中的需氧菌群进行研究。结果表明:胃、肝胰腺、肠道、肌肉中的异氧细菌总菌数分别为5.3×105~6.5×107cfu/g、6.6×105~5.2×106cfu/g、1.4×108~4.5×109cfu/g和1.0×104~1.1×105cfu/g。对从其肠道中分离出来的111株菌株进行属(科)的鉴定。这些菌株分属于13个属(科),发光杆菌属、弧菌属、气单胞菌属、肠杆菌科、黄单胞菌属、土壤杆菌属、芽孢杆菌属、棒状杆菌属、小球菌属、黄杆菌属、产碱杆菌属、假单胞菌属和色杆菌属,还有一株未鉴定的革兰阳性菌。其中优势菌为发光杆菌属、弧菌属,气单胞菌属、肠杆菌科、黄单胞菌属,次优势菌为土壤杆菌属、芽孢杆菌属、棒状杆菌属、小球菌属。 相似文献

Utilization of shrimp head waste from the processing industry offers a solution to environmental pollution and also produces valuable bioactive peptides. The present study was aimed to optimize the alcalase assisted extraction conditions by response surface methodology (RSM) to obtain protein hydrolysates from shrimp (Metapenaeus dobsoni) head waste with maximum antioxidant activity. Based on the models derived by RSM, the optimized conditions for maximum degree of hydrolysis (DH) were pH 8.2, temperature of 45.4°C, and enzyme/substrate (E/S) of 1.8%. Meanwhile, the optimized conditions for maximum antioxidant activity of protein hydrolysates as measured by 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrozyl (DPPH) and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays were pH 8.2 and 8.1, temperatures of 49.7 and 59.4°C, and E/S of 2.1 and 2.7%, respectively. The maximum predicted values for DH, DPPH, and FRAP were 42.44%, 39.64% inhibition, and 8.3 μM Fe (II)/g wet wt. of sample, respectively. The extraction of protein hydrolysates at optimal conditions derived by these models resulted in DH, DPPH, and FRAPs of 40.31%, 38.93%, and 8.21 μM Fe (II)/g of sample, respectively, demonstrating the fitness of the models. The present study demonstrates the potential of Metapenaeus dobsoni head waste as a source of protein hydrolysates with prospective antioxidant activity. 相似文献

Tissue distribution of polyphenol oxidase (PPO) was studied in caramote prawn (Melicertus kerathurus) and jinga shrimp (Metapenaeus affinis) postmortem. Activity was analyzed in different tissues: the head (cephalothorax + carapace), carapace, exoskeleton of the abdomen, pereopods, and maxillipeds, individually. Based on the results, PPO activity of jinga shrimp was determined to be higher than caramote prawn during the research period. Partial tissue distribution showed that the highest activity was determined in carapace by using 70% ammonium sulfate fractions. Partial tissue distribution was also used to determine the spread of black spots. In addition, comparison between the PPO levels of caramote prawn and jinga shrimp was performed. The importance of these species is their economic value. However, there is no available data in the literature about caramote prawn and jinga shrimp. The determined data showed us that using antioxidant chemicals would be suitable for jinga shrimp. 相似文献

本研究采用2×5双因子试验设计,即在基础饲料中分别添加0和0.15 mg/kg的Se,每一Se水平下分别添加0、30、60、90、120 mg/kg的维生素E(VE),共制成10种试验饲料,饲喂平均初始体质量为(0.37±0.01)g的吉富罗非鱼(Oreochromis niloticus)70 d,每组设3个重复,每个重复组50尾吉富罗非鱼,其中饲喂未添加Se和VE的基础饲料组为对照组。结果表明,(1)VE对吉富罗非鱼幼鱼增重率、特定生长率、摄食量和饲料系数均有显著影响(P0.05),就生长性能而言,单独添加VE的适宜范围是63.86–70.58 mg/kg。Se对吉富罗非鱼的增重率、特定生长率的影响不显著(P0.05),但在VE添加量为0 mg/kg的试验组中,硒的添加使吉富罗非鱼增重率高于对照组。VE和Se对吉富罗非鱼生长的交互作用没有显著影响(P0.05)。(2)VE对谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶(GSH-PX)和过氧化氢酶(CAT)活性有显著影响(P0.05),总超氧化物歧化酶(T-SOD)和CAT活性随VE添加量的增加呈上升趋势。而Se可显著影响T-SOD和GSH-PX的活性(P0.05),在VE添加量范围60–90 mg/kg时,加Se试验组的T-SOD、GSH-PX和CAT活性较不加Se组有所上升。VE和Se对GSH-PX活性的影响具有显著的交互作用(P0.05)。在本研究条件下,VE和Se对吉富罗非鱼的生长及抗氧化有一定促进作用,二者联合使用,没有协同促生长作用,但抗氧化作用得到进一步加强。 相似文献

ABSTRACTTo understand biochemical characteristics, storage stability, and freshness indicators of white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei), changes in extractable nitrogenous compounds, microbial count, and sensory rating of white shrimp during storage at 25 and 4°C were investigated. Free amino acids showed a slow increase during storage at 25°C, but no obvious change was found at 4°C. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP) were found at initial stage and decreased rapidly after storage. Both inosine 5′-monophosphate (IMP) and adenosine monophosphate (AMP) increased and then decreased during storage. Inosine, hypoxanthine, and the K-value gradually increased with time. The levels of total volatile basic nitrogen (TVB-N), NH3, and trimethylamine (TMA) of white shrimp increased with storage time at 25 and 4°C. The TVB-N, NH3, TMA, inosine, hypoxanthine, and K-value could be considered as freshness indicators of white shrimp during storage. However, the total plate count did not corroborate the acceptability recommended limits for white shrimp during storage. The sensory evaluation, associated with TVB-N, TMA, and K-value, showed the quality was unacceptable after 6 h storage at 25°C and 7 days at 4°C. 相似文献

Protein from pearl oyster (Pinctada fucata martensii) was purified and characterized. Results showed that the pearl muscle protein (PMP) was composed of a single polypeptide with a molecular weight of approximate 11.6 kDa and contained 95.1% of the protein and 4.92% of the carbohydrate of the oyster. The polypeptide appears to be a glycoprotein, since the Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy of the PMP shows the typical characteristics of protein and polysaccharides. The denaturation temperature of the PMP was 81.3°C by differential scanning calorimetry. Circular dichroism spectroscopy showed that the PMP has a highly ordered structure. The PMP (200 μg/mL) showed a high oxygen radical absorbance activity (ORAC) of 6.57 μmol Trolox/μmol protein. Its antioxidant activity was stable at temperatures from 30–80°C and pH 2–10. The antioxidant activity was significantly inhibited by Zn2+, Ca2+, and EDTA and enhanced by Mn2+. The results suggest that the PMP could be used as a potential natural antioxidant. 相似文献

Short-necked clam (Ruditapes philippinarum) muscle was hydrolyzed with trypsin, and the antioxidant activities of isolated peptides were investigated. The hydrolysate was fractionated by chromatographic methods using Sephadex G-25 gel filtration and Hypersil BDS C18 reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). The antioxidant activities of the hydrolysate were determined by measuring 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), reducing power assay, and the protective effect against hydroxyl-radical-induced DNA damage. 以鱼粉水平为30%的饲料为高鱼粉饲料对照组,以豆粕替代高鱼粉饲料中50%鱼粉形成低鱼粉基础饲料,低鱼粉基础饲料添加0、0.5%、1.0%、1.5%和2.0%低分子水解鱼蛋白,配制 6种实验饲料,对初始体重为(0.44±0.02) g的凡纳滨对虾(Litopenaeus vannamei)幼虾进行48 d的养殖实验。实验结束后采集样品,测定肝胰腺酸性磷酸酶(ACP)、碱性磷酸酶(AKP)、总超氧化物歧化酶(T-SOD)活力和丙二醛(MDA)含量,并分析肠道先天免疫缺陷基因(IMD)、对虾素3a分子(Penaiedin 3a)、溶菌酶(LZM)和Crustin相关免疫基因的表达量,以探讨低分子水解鱼蛋白对凡纳滨对虾非特异性免疫力和抗氧化能力的影响。结果显示,在低鱼粉饲料中添加适宜水平的低分子水解鱼蛋白能够显著提高对虾肝胰腺T-SOD、AKP和ACP的活力,降低MDA的含量;且1.5%低分子水解鱼蛋白能增加IMD、Penaiedin 3a、LZM和Crustin基因表达量。综上,凡纳滨对虾非特异免疫力和抗氧化能力的降低可能是影响植物蛋白源替代鱼粉的关键原因之一,而在饲料中补充1.0%–1.5%的低分子水解鱼蛋白可有效提高凡纳滨对虾抗病相关基因的表达量,增强其非特异免疫力和抗氧化能力。 相似文献
