In vitro clonal propagation of Clitoria ternatea has been achieved by employing decapitated embryonic axes (DEAs) explants. The explants induced multiple shoots on cytokinin-containing medium. Several cytokinins [6-benzylaminopurine (BAP), 6-furfuryl aminopurine (KIN) and thidiazuron (TDZ)] were assayed. The best response was achieved with 2 mg l−1 BAP in which 100% of cultures produced 6.0 ± 0.14 shoots per explant. MS + 1 mg l−1 gibberellic acid (GA3) was the most suitable for shoot elongation. Regenerated shoots were rooted in half-strength Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium with 0.2 mg l−1 indole-3-butyric acid (IBA). Plantlets were successfully acclimatized and established in soil, and they were morphologically indistinguishable from the source plant. The plantlets attained maturity and flowered normally. The efficient regeneration protocol reported here provides an important method of micropropagation of this plant. Furthermore, this protocol may be used for genetic transformation of this valuable medicinal plant for its further improvement. 相似文献

Randomly amplified polymorphic DNA markers (RAPD) were employed to assess the level of genetic stability of long term micropropagated prickly pear (Opuntia ficus-indica) plantlets.Thirteen micropropagated plantlets were chosen from a clonal collection of shoots that originated from a single mother shoot. This clonal collection had been maintained under in vitro culture conditions for at least 5 years, as achieved for the time by axillary branch multiplication in Opuntia ficus-indica.Twenty arbitrary primers were used to compare RAPD patterns between in vitro raised material and the mother plant. Only 11 primers were found to yield distinct and reproducible amplification products resulting in a total of 87 amplified products, out of which 82 bands were monomorphic across all the plantlets and 5 showed polymorphisms.Cluster analysis performed on the basis of similarity indices indicated that all micropropagated plantlets and their mother plant grouped together in one major cluster with a 91% level of similarity.Low level of genetic variation has been detected, as polymorphic bands accounted for just 2.79% of the total genetic variation. This very low level of genetic variation, despite more than 5 years of in vitro culture, demonstrates the genetic stability of Opuntia ficus-indica and indicates that the axillary branch multiplication method is highly reliable for the multiplication of genetically true-to-type plant material. The high degree of clonal fidelity detected here, recommend the use of axillary-branching micropropagation technique for the safe in vitro conservation of prickly pear interesting genetic resources. 相似文献

A simple and rapid method for micropropagation of succulent, salt accumulator and extreme halophyte Salicornia brachiata has been established for the first time using shoot tips and nodes. Individually, BA showed significant response compared to Kn and in combinations, improved shoot proliferation was observed with BA + NAA than BA + 2,4-D, however no significant response was observed with BA + IAA. Percentage of shoot response significantly increased with NaCl treatment in the combination of BA + NAA while BA + 2,4-D + NaCl combination showed reduced shoot proliferation followed by demises of most of cultures. Efficient shoot proliferation was observed with combinations BA (8.9 μM) + NAA (5.37 μM) + NaCl (500 mM) and BA (13.3 μM) + NAA (5.37 μM) + NaCl (250 mM) indicating that NaCl is required for the micropropagation. The developed method will facilitate functional analysis of novel salt responsive gene(s) isolated from S. brachiata and propagation of industrially important elite accessions. 相似文献

The aphids Macrosiphum euphorbiae (Thomas) and Myzus persicae (Sulzer) (Hemiptera: Aphididae) are responsible for yield reduction in potato (Solanum tuberosum) production by direct phloem feeding and by spreading viruses. Breeding resistant traits from Solanum chomatophilum into the potato germplasm provides alternative means to control aphid infestations. Integrated pest management strategy, using plant resistance, benefits from the characterization of the resistance and of its impact on aphid biology. Our objective was to characterize the resistance of S. chomatophilum by assessing the effects of accessions, plant parts on aphid performance, and by assessing the impact of the resistance factors on different aphid developmental stages and on alate morph production. Detailed aphid performance was obtained by measuring fecundity, survival, percentage of nymphs that reached adult moult, and population growth using whole plant and clip cage experimental designs. Accession and plant physiological age, but not aphid developmental stage, influenced all life-history parameters, except for alate morph production which was not induced on the resistant accessions. Plant part influence was independent of plant species and accession. Both experimental designs resulted in congruent resistance levels at the accession level for each of the two aphid species, supporting the use of any of them in S. chomatophilum resistance screening. PI243340 was resistant to both aphid species, while PI365324 and PI310990 were also resistant to M. euphorbiae and M. persicae, respectively. 相似文献

Large scale cultivation of the cardoon Cynara cardunculus L. for biomass production was installed using common agricultural practices and machinery in a total of 77.4 ha in southern Portugal in a region characterized by very hot and dry summers. This species is a perennial with an annual growth cycle. Installation by sowing was successful in spite of the extreme drought that occurred during this first cycle (221 mm), and the plants developed well during the second cycle (with 556 mm rainfall) with a mean density of 27 thousand plants per ha. Aerial photographs showed that 45.8 ha of the field had over 50% of ground cover by cardoon plants. The observed differences in soil occupation could be explained by rock outcrops, soil heterogeneity and land topography. The field biomass yield was estimated at 7.5 t ha−1 and the plants at harvest had on average 2.1 m height and 2.2 cm stalk diameter, with 5.3 capitula per plant. Stalks represented 59.1% of total dry biomass. The capitula contain small oil seeds with an average of 126 seeds per capitulum and weighing 32 g per 1000 seeds. The mean seed yield was 603 kg ha−1. The results of this experiment confirm that Cynara crops are suitable for biomass production in Mediterranean regions and that large scale operation can be applied including whole plant harvest or field fractionation for seed recovery. Careful attention to cultural practices was deemed important for field homogeneity and production. The observed plant variation, namely in oil seed production, suggests potential improvements through breeding. 相似文献

Transgenic corn hybrids that express toxins from Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) are highly effective against the European corn borer, Ostrinia nubilalis (Hübner), and the closely related Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenée). Since the registration of Bt corn hybrids in the U.S. in 1996, there has been a great deal of information generated on O. nubilalis. However, relatively little information exists for O. furnacalis. To help determine whether the information generated for O. nubilalis can be leveraged for decisions regarding the use of transgenic Bt corn against O. furnacalis, experiments were designed to determine whether the pattern of sensitivity to various Bt Cry1 toxins is similar between the two species. Test insects included laboratory-reared O. furnacalis originating from Malaysia, a Bt-susceptible laboratory colony of O. nubilalis maintained at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) and an out-group consisting of the sugarcane borer, Diatraea saccharalis (F.), from Louisiana which represents a different genus from the same family. O. furnacalis and O. nubilalis exhibited a similar pattern of susceptibility to all the Cry1 toxins and were highly susceptible to the range of Bt toxins tested including Cry1Aa, Cry1Ab, Cry1Ac and Cry1F. Both of the Ostrinia species were more tolerant to Cry1Ba compared with D. saccharalis, although sensitivity of O. furnacalis was intermediate and did not differ significantly from that of O. nubilalis and D. saccharalis. D. saccharalis was also susceptible to the range of toxins tested but unlike the two Ostrinia species, was more tolerant to Cry1F and more susceptible to Cry1Ba. These results indicate that both of the Ostrinia corn borer species are similar in sensitivity to the Cry1Aa, Cry1Ab, Cry1Ac, Cry1Ba and Cry1F toxins, thus suggesting shared toxin receptors and mechanisms of toxicity for the two species. 相似文献

Secondary plant compounds are recognised as important components of plant defence system against herbivores and pathogens. Five monoterpenoids, (R)-linalool, 1,8-cineole, (S)-2-heptyl acetate, (S)-2-heptanol and citral, which are natural components of the essential oils of Aframomum melegueta (K. Schum) and Zingiber officinale (Roscoe), were tested at the ratios in which they occur naturally for repellent activity against Tribolium castaneum (Herbst.) and Rhyzopertha dominica (F.) in a 4-way olfactometer. The results showed the repellent properties of the compounds as both beetles spent less time in the olfactometer arm containing the test stimuli. (R)-linalool and (S)-2-heptanol were stronger repellent compounds than the others. Linalool showed good repellent activity against T. castaneum (P = 0.001) as the insect spent 1.22 min in the test arm compared to the control arms (2.78 min), and R. dominica (P = 0.001) with 0.89 min in the test arm compared to 2.87 min in the control arms. With (S)-2-heptanol, T. castaneum spent 1.23 min in the test arm compared to 2.83 min in the control arms. R. dominica spent 1.61 min in the test arm and 2.69 min in the control arms. For the number of entries or visits made, while both insects were significantly repelled (P < 0.05) by the linalool-treated arm than the control, only R. dominica was repelled by the (S)-2-heptanol-treated arm (P = 0.038) compared to the control arms. The results indicate that A. melegueta and Z. officinale essential oils and their components could be suitable as safer repellents or fumigants against T. castaneum and R. dominica. 相似文献

The fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (Smith, 1797) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) is considered the main key pest of corn crops in Brazil. Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) may be used to control this pest, applied together with other different entomopathogen agents or phytosanity products in the spraying mixture. Thus, the objective of work was to evaluate the compatibility of EPNs with different insecticides used of S. frugiperda control in laboratory conditions. Three species of EPNs (Heterorhabditis indica, Steinernema carpocapsae and Steinernema glaseri) and 18 insecticides registered to control of S. frugiperda in corn crops were tested. Compatibility of the insecticides with EPNs was evaluated by observing mortality and infectivity of infecting juveniles (IJs) 48 h after immersion in solution of the insecticide formulations. Among all insecticides tested, Lorsban™ (chlorpyrifos), Decis™ (deltamethrin), Match™ (lufenuron), Deltaphos™ (deltramethrin + triazophos), Dimilin™ (diflubenzuron), Stallion™ (gamacyhalothrin), Karate Zeon™ (lambdacyhalothrin) Tracer™ (spinosad), Vexter™ (chlorpyrifos), Galgotrin™ (cypermethrin), Certero™ (triflumuron), and Talcord™ (permethrin) were compatible (class 1) with the three nematode species tested under laboratory conditions. 相似文献

Five bacterial strains (TR1 to TR5) isolated from root nodules of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) were tested for their plant growth promotory traits and biocontrol potential against Fusarium oxysporum. On the basis of morphological, physiological, biochemical and molecular characteristics, strains TR1 and TR3 - TR5 were identified as Ensifer meliloti, and TR2 as Rhizobium leguminosarum. All bacterial isolates utilized phosphate in vitro. Except TR5, all isolates produced IAA and none of them showed volatile cyanogens production. Except TR3, all isolates produced in vitro siderophore. Isolate TR1 and TR4 showed chitinase production while only TR2 showed β-1,3-glucanase activity. Isolates TR1, TR2 and TR5 exhibited ACC deaminase activity. Isolates TR1, TR2 and TR4 inhibited the growth of F. oxysporum, causing loss of structural integrity of the mycelium, hyphal perforation, lysis, fragmentation and degradation. The potential for nodulation and nitrogen fixation of the strains were confirmed by amplification of 500 bp nodC and 781 bp nifH fragments. The application of the TR1 + TR2 combination resulted in increased grain yield by 35% and 36% of fenugreek in two consecutive field trials, respectively as compared to control. Maximum increments in vigour index, nodule number and root and shoot biomass were recorded with seed inoculated with consortium (TR1 + TR2) followed by single inoculation as compared to control. The antibiotic resistant marker strain of E. meliloti TR1strep+ and R. leguminosarum TR2tet+ confirmed the efficient colonization of fenugreek roots. This study showed that these rhizobial isolates have properties of biocontrol agents and may be applied to promote the growth of fenugreek. 相似文献

The timing and pattern of mussel scale (Lepidosaphes ulmi (L.)) crawler emergence was monitored in relation to air and bark-surface temperatures using sticky band traps around branches in apple orchards in Kent, UK in three successive years, 2007-2009. The emergence and migration of the crawlers lasted for over 4 weeks at a high level, much longer than had been previously reported. In all three years, there were clearly two peaks of emergence of the crawlers, possibly because there is a diapausing and non-diapausing form of the insect. A temperature sum model developed in the 1990s in The Netherlands using air temperatures predicted the peak emergence of crawlers to within 5-16 days; however, the model was less accurate when tree bark temperatures for the north or south of the tree were used. We have developed two models to predict the emergence of the crawlers by revising the original Dutch model. The observed emergence period (5-95%) was longer than the predicted in all three years but the two revised models performed better than the original Dutch model. In two experiments, in 2007 and 2008, the efficacy of a wide range of insecticide products at different timings during crawler emergence was evaluated. Of the 7 products compared as single or two sprays (spray volume 500 l ha−1) at different emergence timings, or with the addition of adjuvants or as winter treatments, thiacloprid 480 g/l SC (375 ml ha−1) and acetamiprid 20% w/w SP (375 g ha−1) gave the best and similar control, reducing the percentage of fruits infested by 94%. Two sprays of fenoxycarb 25% w/w WG (600 g ha−1) gave the poorest control (28%). Two sprays of spirodiclofen 240 g/l SC (600 g ha−1), chlorpyrifos 75% w/w WG (960 g ha−1) or flonicamid 50% w/w WG (140 g ha−1) gave intermediate results, reducing the percentage infestation by 72% on average. Adjuvants gave no additional value to the treatments when applied in admixture and winter applications of mineral oil (spray volume 1000 l ha−1), alone or in admixture with chlorpyrifos or thiacloprid were not effective at controlling mussel scale the following growing season.Overall, acetamiprid and thiacloprid were the most efficacious insecticides and this study indicates that sprays are best applied in the latter part of the migration (after 50% emergence) with an interval between sprays of at least two weeks to span the long emergence period of the pest. 相似文献

A comparison of monitoring systems used for Ceratitis species (Diptera: Tephritidae) in South Africa
For 16 years a bucket-type trap known as the Sensus fruit fly trap has been used to monitor three fruit fly pest species Ceratitis capitata, Ceratitis rosa and Ceratitis cosyra in South African fruit industries. The relative efficiencies of lures sold for monitoring fruit flies with the Sensus trap in South Africa were determined in field experiments where laboratory-reared C. capitata, C. rosa and C. cosyra were released in a mango orchard within a few metres of Sensus traps containing either Capilure (trimedlure or tert-butyl 4 (or 5) -chloro-2-methylcyclohexane carboxylate), Ceratitislure (protein hydrolysate plus β-caryophyllene) or Questlure (protein hydrolysate plus plant extracts). When using 12-day-old flies, Capilure caught 3 times more C. capitata males than C. rosa males and this difference was more extreme when 3-day-old flies were released. Ceratitislure caught significantly more 12-day-old C. cosyra males than 12-day-old C. capitata males, but the difference was reversed when 3-day-old flies were compared. Questlure showed the least differences between species and age but recovered the lowest proportion of released species. Further comparisons were conducted in an orchard with wild flies using other known attractants in larger yellow Probodelt bucket traps. Capilure caught more male C. capitata than BioLure Fruit Fly 3-component, but BioLure 2-component (trimethylamine and ammonium acetate) was more effective than Questlure for C. capitata females. The 3-component lure was also more effective than both Capilure and Questlure for male and female C. rosa, respectively. Ceratitislure was the most effective lure for male C. cosyra flies and BioLure 3-component was more effective than Ceratitislure and Questlure for female C. cosyra flies. The intervention threshold of 4 flies/trap/week previously used in citrus with Capilure for C. rosa was lowered to 2 C. rosa/trap/week when using the Sensus trap due to the lower sensitivity of this trap-lure combination found for C. rosa in this study. The 3-component lure, or the 2-component combination of trimethylamine and ammonium acetate in a ratio of 1:8 in the Sensus trap capsule, would be more effective for both sexes of all three Ceratitis species than the Questlure that is currently being used. 相似文献

The main insect pest in Brazilian corn is fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (Smith, 1797) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) can be used to control this pest, and can be applied together with various insecticides. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the efficacy of mixtures of EPNs and insecticides to control S. frugiperda in corn crops. In laboratory bioassays three species of EPNs were tested (Heterorhabditis indica, Steinernema carpocapsae and Steinernema glaseri) together with 18 registered insecticides to control S. frugiperda in corn. Efficacy of association between insecticides and EPNs on S. frugiperda larvae was evaluated against the insect's third instar, 2 and 4 days after applications in laboratory. Experiments in the field were performed in two consecutive years, with located application of H. indica and S. carpocapsae (250 IJs/cm2) mixed with chlorpyrifos (0.3 L/ha) and lufenuron (0.15 L/ha) on the corn husk. In laboratory, after two days exposure the interaction between chlorpyrifos and H. indica was synergistic, while interaction with cypermethrin, spinosad, methoxyfenozide and deltamethrin + triazofos was additive, as was interaction between lufenuron, chlorpyrifos and cypermethrin with S. carpocapsae. In contrast, the interaction between chlorpyrifos (Vexter™ and Lorsban™) and lufenuron with S. glaseri was synergistic. In the field, the best treatment was the mixture of H. indica with lufenuron (0.15 L/ha), with 62.5% and 57.5% larval mortality in the two evaluation years in the field, respectively. 相似文献

Augmentative release of biocontrol agents has been largely successful for the management of insect pests but it has not been a common approach for weed management. Augmentation methods need to be developed for weed management, especially for pernicious weeds like Parthenium hysterophorus L., commonly known as pathenium or carrot weed. The leaf beetle Zygogramma bicolorata is a potential biocontrol agent of P. hysterophorus. Initial release of biocontrol agents is subject to uncertainties as to whether timely population built-up will take place in sufficient numbers. Several augmentative releases may be required to ensure early establishment of the biocontrol agents, for successful biological control of noxious weeds including pathenium. We made augmentative releases of larvae or adults of Z. bicolorata each to three sites, severely infested with pathenium at Jabalpur, India consecutively for a period of three years. Initially 10 larvae or adults per sq m were released in each plot, followed by a second, third and fourth release of 3, 1.5 and 1.5 larvae or adults per sq m at an intervals of 3, 7 and 14 days after the first augmentation. The pathenium at augmented sites were completely defoliated in 45 and 60 days by larvae and adults respectively. There was also a reduction in the pathenium density and plant height in the augmented sites as compared to the non-augmented sites. Over a period of 3 years augmentation resulted in a noteworthy negative effect on the weed. 相似文献

Prohexadione-calcium and trinexapac-ethyl, inhibitors of 2-oxoglutaric acid-dependent dioxygenases, were tested for their efficacy in controlling scab infection on apple (cv. Golden Delicious) scions under greenhouse and field conditions. Their effectiveness was compared with other types of growth inhibitors (chlormequat chloride and paclobutrazol). Furthermore, to determine the time required to build-up plant resistance against scab, the compounds were applied at different concentrations and timings prior the inoculation with Venturia inaequalis. Prohexadione-calcium and trinexapac-ethyl significantly reduced scab incidence starting approximately 10 and lasting for approximately 25 days after application. In field conditions, the practical application of these compounds may result valuable both to control the vegetative/reproductive balance of the trees and to effectively reduce the amount of fungicides used to control scab. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate water and organic solvent of plant extracts for protection of lupine plants against damping-off and wilt diseases caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lupini, F. oxysporum f. sp. lupini Snyder & Hansen was isolated from diseased lupine roots collected from different locations of Minia, Assiut and New Valley governorates. Water leaf extracts of Calotropis procera, Nerium oleander, Eugenia jambolana, Citrullus colocynthis, Ambrosia maritime, Acacia nilotica and Ocimum basilicum and fruit extracts of C. colocynthis, C. procera and E. jambolana reduced damping-off and wilt diseases caused by F. oxysporum f. sp. lupini. Water extracts of E. jambolana leaves, C. colocynthis fruits and N. oleander leaves were the most effective ones for controlling such diseases. In contrast, A. nilotica and O. basilicum extracts were the least effective ones. Organic solvent extracts of tested plants reduced damping-off and wilt diseases than water extracts. Butanolic and ethereal extracts were highly effective in reduction of diseases than the other tested extracts. Under field conditions, during winter growing seasons 2008/09 and 2009/10, ethereal and butanolic extracts of N. oleander and E. jambolana leaves and C. colocynthis fruits significantly reduced the percentage of wilt severity as well as improved growth parameters (plant height, number of branches, pods and seeds per plant) and increased seed index, total seed yield/hectare compared with control treatment, while protein content in seeds was not effected. In conclusion, our study demonstrated that some plant extracts can be used for biocontrol of lupine damping-off and wilt diseases. 相似文献

Field corn, Zea mays L., plants expressing Cry1Ab and Cry1F insecticidal crystal (Cry) proteins of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) Berliner are planted on considerable acreage across the Southern region of the United States. The fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith), is an economically important pest during the mid-to-late season on non-Bt and some commercial Bt corn hybrids. The objective of this study was to quantify foliar injury and survivorship of fall armyworm on transgenic corn lines expressing Cry1Ab or Cry1F Bt proteins. Corn lines/hybrids expressing Cry1Ab, Cry1F, and a conventional non-Bt cultivar were evaluated against artificial infestations of fall armyworm in field trials. Larvae (second instars) of fall armyworm were placed on corn plants (V8-V10 stages). Leaf injury ratings were recorded 14 d after infestation. Hybrids expressing Cry1F had significantly lower feeding injury ratings than non-Bt corn plants. Development and survivorship of fall armyworm on Bt corn lines/hybrids were also evaluated in no-choice laboratory assays by offering freshly harvested corn leaf tissue to third instars. Transgenic corn hybrids expressing Cry1Ab or Cry1F significantly reduced growth, development, and survivorship of fall armyworm compared to those offered non-Bt corn tissue. However, 25-76% of third instars offered Bt corn leaf tissues successfully pupated and emerged as adults. These results suggest Cry1Ab has limited effects on fall armyworm; whereas Cry1F demonstrated significant reductions in foliar injury and lower survivorship compared to that on non-Bt corn tissues. Although fall armyworm is not considered a primary target for insect resistance management by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, these levels of survivorship could impact selection pressures across the farmscape, especially when considering that transgenic Bt cotton cultivars express similar Cry (Cry1Ac or Cry1F) proteins. 相似文献

The fungitoxic effects of 66 medicinal plants belonging to different families were evaluated in vitro on Pythium aphanidermatum, the causal agent of chilli damping-off. Of these, Zimmu leaf extract (Allium sativum L. × Allium cepa L.) showed the highest inhibition of mycelial growth of P. aphanidermatum (13.7 mm). The antimicrobial compounds were isolated from Zimmu leaf extract and 22 compounds were identified through gas chromatography mass spectroscopy (GC–MS). Biocontrol agents Trichoderma viride and Pseudomonas fluorescens and Zimmu extract were also tested alone and together in vitro and in vivo experiments for control of P. aphanidermatum. The in vitro studies revealed that combination of T. viride + P. fluorescens + Zimmu leaf extract showed the highest mycelial growth inhibition over the control. Both antagonists were compatible with each other and with Zimmu leaf extract. The pot culture studies revealed that seed treatment with combined application of T. viride + P. fluorescens + Zimmu leaf extract was superior in reducing the pre and post-emergence damping-off incidence (8.3 and 17.0%, respectively), and increased the plant growth and yield (shoot length and root length of 13.7 and 6.3 cm, 146 g/plant, respectively) of chilli when compared to control. 相似文献

The effect of intercropping pepper with sugarcane on populations of the leafminer Liriomyza huidobrensis Becker was investigated over two seasons (2007, 2008) in Yunnan, China. Populations of adults, the female:male sex ratios and the densities of larval mines were significantly higher in pepper monoculture than in intercropping in a 2:2 pattern (2 rows of pepper to 2 rows of sugarcane), which in turn were significantly higher than intercropping in a 1:2 pattern (1 row of pepper to 2 rows of sugarcane). The densities of the parasitoids of the leafminer were significantly higher in intercropping than in the pepper monoculture. The total parasitism rates were 71.6%, 22.5% and 5.9% in 2007, and 69.5%, 20.6% and 5.9% in 2008, in the 1:2, 2:2 and pepper monoculture, respectively. The lower densities of leafminer adults, the lower female:male sex ratio, and smaller numbers of larval mines in the intercropping systems were attributed to the intercropping pattern and the growth of pepper. These results indicate that intercropping is suitable for the control of L. huidobrensis on pepper plants. These results demonstrate the utility of intercropping of pepper with sugarcane in the management of L. huidobrensis. 相似文献

The sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius), has become a major threat to agriculture worldwide. The development of insecticide resistance in B. tabaci has necessitated the exploration of new management tactics. The toxicity of imidacloprid and buprofezin to various life stages of B. tabaci was determined in the laboratory. Also, the sublethal effects of both insecticides were studied on demographic and biological parameters of B. tabaci. Both insecticides were very toxic against first stage larvae of the pest with LC50 values of 1.0 and 19.3 ppm for buprofezin and imidacloprid, respectively. Toxicities decreased between successive stages (LC50 values ranging from 1.0 to 2854.0 ppm). The LC50 values of imidacloprid for adult males, females and eggs were 11.8, 71.6 and 151.0 ppm, respectively. Buprofezin had no significant effect on adults and eggs. The sublethal concentration of imidacloprid had no significant effect on demographic and biological parameters of B. tabaci but the maximal value for the mean generation time (T) (18.8 day) was observed in imidacloprid treatment. Buprofezin significantly decreased stable population and biological parameters of B. tabaci except it did not decrease the rate of population increase or the sex ratio of offspring. 相似文献
