Ion release in the C horizon of a Skeletic Umbrisol on gneiss bedrock was investigated by percolation experiments at a water status near field capacity and with adjusted CO2 partial pressures in soil air. CO2 partial pressures of 0.001, 0.01, and 0.1 bar with pH‐values of 5.7, 4.9, and 4.5 yielded cation release rates of 3.0, 8.5, and 12.3 kmolc yr–1 ha–1 at a 1 m horizon depth and 800 mm seepage water. Within the pH range of 5.7 to 4.5, the activity of carbonic acid triggers ion release. For the treatment with a CO2 partial pressure of 0.001, the isolation of a weathering rate (0.5 kmolc yr–1 ha–1) was possible because parallel running processes such as the dissolution of solid compounds could be identified by dissolved anions, and exchange processes only modified internal ratios of mobilized basic cations. The weathering rate at a site‐typical CO2 partial pressure of 0.01 bar was about 5–10 times higher than usually assumed in the literature. There are three reasons that may account for this: (1) the consideration of actual carbonic acid activities and (2) specific site features such as the richness of basic minerals and/or the presence of a skeletal fraction with micro voids and fissures providing large internal surfaces. Furthermore, (3) it can not be completely excluded that parallel running exchange processes contribute to ion release.  相似文献

A long-term field experiment was conducted for 8 years on a Vertisol in central India to assess quantitatively the direct and residual N effects of soybean inoculation with Bradyrhizobium and wheat inoculation with Azotobacter in a soybean–wheat rotation. After cultivation of soybean each year, its aerial residues were removed before growing wheat in the same plots using four N levels (120, 90, 60 and 30 kg ha?1) and Azotobacter inoculation. Inoculation of soybean increased grain yield by 10.1% (180 kg ha?1), but the increase in wheat yields with inoculation was only marginal (5.6%; 278 kg ha?1). There was always a positive balance of soil N after soybean harvest; an average of +28 kg N ha?1 yr?1 in control (nodulated by native rhizobia) plots compared with +41 kg N ha?1 yr?1 in Rhizobium-inoculated plots. Residual and direct effects of Rhizobium and Azotobacter inoculants caused a fertilizer N credit of 30 kg ha?1 in wheat. Application of fertilizers or microbial inoculation favoured the proliferation of rhizobia in crop rhizosphere due to better plant growth. Additional N uptake by inoculation was 14.9 kg N ha?1 by soybean and 20.9 kg N ha?1 by wheat crop, and a gain of +38.0 kg N ha?1 yr?1 to the 0–15 cm soil layer was measured after harvest of wheat. So, total N contribution to crops and soil due to the inoculants was 73.8 kg N ha?1 yr?1 after one soybean–wheat rotation. There was a total N benefit of 13.8 kg N ha?1 yr?1 to the soil due to regular long-term use of microbial inoculants in soybean–wheat rotation.  相似文献

A steady state soil chemistry model was used to calculate the critical load of acidity for forest soils and surface waters at Lake GÄrdsjön in S.W. Sweden. The critical load of all acid precursors (potential acidity) for the forest soil is 1.64 kmolc ha?1 yr?1, and 1.225 kmolc ha?1 yr?1 for surface waters. For the most sensitive receptor, the critical load is exceeded by 1.0 kmolc ha?1 yr?1, and a 80% reduction in S deposition is required, if N deposition remains unchanged. The critical load is largely affected by the present immobilization of N in the terrestrial ecosystem which is higher than the base cation uptake. The model, PROFILE, is based on mass balance calculations for the different soil layers. From measurable soil properties, PROFILE reproduces the present stream water composition as well as present soil solution chemistry. The model calculates the weathering rate from independent geophysical properties such as soil texture and mineral composition.  相似文献

Abstract

The aim of this study was to assess the mitigating effects of lime nitrogen (calcium cyanamide) and dicyandiamide (DCD) application on nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from fields of green tea [Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze]. The study was conducted in experimental tea fields in which the fertilizer application rate was 544 kg nitrogen (N) ha?1 yr?1 for 2 years. The mean cumulative N2O flux from the soil between the canopies of tea plants for 2 years was 7.1 ± 0.9 kg N ha?1 yr?1 in control plots. The cumulative N2O flux in the plots supplemented with lime nitrogen was 3.5 ± 0.1 kgN ha?1, approximately 51% lower than that in control plots. This reduction was due to the inhibition of nitrification by DCD, which was produced from the lime nitrogen. In addition, the increase in soil pH by lime in the lime nitrogen may also be another reason for the decreased N2O emissions from soil in LN plots. Meanwhile, the cumulative N2O flux in DCD plots was not significantly different from that in control plots. The seasonal variability in N2O emissions in DCD plots differed from that in control plots and application of DCD sometimes increased N2O emissions from tea field soil. The nitrification inhibition effect of lime nitrogen and DCD helped to delay nitrification of ammonium-nitrogen (NH4+-N), leading to high NH4+-N concentrations and a high ratio of NH4+-N /nitrate-nitrogen (NO3-N) in the soil. The inhibitors delayed the formation of NO3-N in soil. N uptake by tea plants was almost the same among all three treatments.  相似文献

SW Sweden has very acidic forest soils because of deposition ofair-borne pollutants. Large-scale liming and fertilization have been proposed as countermeasures against a possible future development of forest decline. To test the effects of suggested treatments, liming (3 or 6 t ha1) and fertilization with easily soluble PK (25 or 50 kg P, 80 or 160 kg K ha1) or N(20 kg N ha1 annually in the form of NH4 NO3) were applied in different combinations in four experiments in 30–60 yr-old Picea abies forests in SW Sweden. Four yearsafter the initial application of the fertilizers, samples were taken from the O-horizon and the two uppermost 5 cm thick layersof the mineral soil. Their pH(H2O) and easily extractable Ca, Mg, K, P and inorganic N contents were analyzed. Samples werealso incubated to estimate net N mineralization and potential nitrification rates. Liming increased the pH by 0.6–1 unit in the O-horizon, and by 0.1 unit in the mineral soil. The Ca + Mg content increased by 15–25 kmolc ha1 (4–8 foldincrease) in the O-horizon of the limed plots, while an increaseof 5 kmolc ha1 (two-fold increase) was observed in theuppermost 5 cm of the mineral soil. Liming did not affect extractable P, K or inorganic N contents. Net N mineralization and potential nitrification rates in the O-horizon were enhanced 1.5- and 6-fold, respectively, by liming, but it had no apparenteffect in the mineral soil. N fertilization caused a slight increase (1.5 kg ha1) in the content of inorganic N, buthad no effects on the other variables measured. The amount ofextractable P was raised by 16 kg ha1 in plots given the high P dose (50 kg ha1), but no other effects of PK fertilization were detected.  相似文献

Increasing greenhouse gas emissions from anthropogenic activities continue to be a mounting problem worldwide. In the semi-natural Miscanthus sinensis Andersson; grasslands of Aso, Kumamoto, Japan, which have been managed for thousands of years, we measured soil methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions before and after annual controlled burns. We estimated annual soil carbon (C) accumulation, and CH4 and N2O emissions induced by biomass burning in 2009 and 2010, to determine the impacts of this ecosystem and its management on global warming. Environmental factors affecting soil CH4 and N2O fluxes were unknown, with no effect of annual burning observed on short-term soil CH4 and N2O emissions. However, deposition of charcoal during burning may have enhanced CH4 oxidation and N2O consumption at the study site, given that emissions (CH4: ?4.33 kg C ha?1 yr?1, N2O: 0.17 kg N ha?1 yr?1) were relatively lower than those measured in other land-use types. Despite significant emission of CH4 and N2O during yearly burning events in early spring, the M. sinensis semi-natural grassland had a large annual soil C accumulation, which resulted in a global warming potential of ?4.86 Mg CO2eq ha?1 yr?1. Consequently, our results indicate that long-term maintenance of semi-natural M. sinensis grasslands by annual burning can contribute to the mitigation of global warming.  相似文献

Abstract

The Magruder plots are the oldest continuous soil fertility wheat research plots in the Great Plains region, and are one of the oldest continuous soil fertility wheat plots in the world. They were initiated in 1892 by Alexander C. Magruder who was interested in the productivity of native prairie soils when sown continuously to winter wheat. This study reports on a simple estimate of nitrogen (N) balance in the Magruder plots, accounting for N applied, N removed in the grain, plant N loss, denitrification, non‐symbiotic N fixation, nitrate (NO3 ?) leaching, N applied in the rainfall, estimated total soil N (0–30 cm) at the beginning of the experiment and that measured in 2001. In the Manure plots, total soil N decreased from 6890 kg N ha?1 in the surface 0–30 cm in 1892, to 3198 kg N ha?1 in 2002. In the Check plots (no nutrients applied for 109 years) only 2411 kg N ha?1 or 35% of the original total soil organic N remains. Nitrogen removed in the grain averaged 38.4 kg N ha?1 yr?1 and N additions (manure, N in rainfall, N via symbiotic N fixation) averaged 44.5 kg N ha?1 yr?1 in the Manure plots. Following 109 years, unaccounted N ranged from 229 to 1395 kg N ha?1. On a by year basis, this would translate into 2–13 kg N ha?1 yr?1 that were unaccounted for, increasing with increased N application. For the Manure plots, the estimate of nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) (N removed in the grain, minus N removed in the grain of the Check plots, divided by the rate of N applied) was 32.8%, similar to the 33% NUE for world cereal production reported in 1999.  相似文献

Agricultural soils are a primary source of anthropogenic trace gas emissions, and the subtropics contribute greatly, particularly since 51% of world soils are in these climate zones. A field experiment was carried out in an ephemeral wetland in central Zimbabwe in order to determine the effect of cattle manure (1.36% N) and mineral N fertilizer (ammonium nitrate, 34.5% N) application on N2O fluxes from soil. Combined applications of 0 kg N fertilizer + 0 Mg cattle manure ha?1 (control), 100 kg N fertilizer + 15 Mg manure ha?1 and 200 kg N fertilizer + 30 Mg manure ha?1 constituted the three treatments arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Tomato and rape crops were grown in rotation over a period of two seasons. Emissions of N2O were sampled using the static chamber technique. Increasing N fertilizer and manure application rates from low to high rates increased the N2O fluxes by 37–106%. When low and high rates were applied to the tomato and rape crops, 0.51%, 0.40%, and 0.93%, 0.64% of applied N was lost as N2O, respectively. This implies that rape production has a greater N2O emitting potential than the production of tomatoes in wetlands.  相似文献

Solute budgets and nitrogen use were quantified in two 400 m2 forested lysimeters in St. Arnold, Nordrhein-Westfalen. The lysimeters are covered by a mixture of oak-beech and Weymouth pine, respectively. The average bulk deposition between May 1985 and May 1987 of NH, SO and NO3 was 1.1, 1.7, and 0.4 kmolc ha?1 yr?1 in the deciduous stand and 2.1, 2.1, and 0.8 kmolc ha?1 yr?1 in the coniferous stand. The input of N is almost completely retained in the deciduous stand. In the coniferous stand about 30% of this N-input is leached as NO3. Due to N-transformations, total proton turnover is 4.4 kmolc ha?1 yr?1 in the coniferous stand and only 2.5 kmolc ha?1 yr?1 in the deciduous stand. Ca-mobilization is the major acid buffering process in both lysimeters. Only the deciduous stand was limed in 1980 (90 kmolc/ha). Mobilization of Al is only relevant down to a soil depth of 30 cm. Below a 30 cm depth, Al is immobilized. The amounts of exchangeable and silicate-bound Ca in the soil underlying the coniferous stand are very small, but no evidence was found for explanation of the observed high Ca-mobilization by artificial Ca-sources.  相似文献

Organic amendments recycle nutrients, but N2O emissions are both environmental and agronomic concerns. We conducted a 4-year field experiment to determine no-till barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) yield and nutrient uptake and soil N2O emissions following a single application of six amendment treatments: (1) no amendment (Check); (2) synthetic N fertilizer (Fert); (3) fresh beef cattle feedlot manure (ManureF); (4) beef cattle feedlot manure compost (CompostR); (5) beef cattle feedlot manure composted with cattle mortalities (CompostM); and (6) separated solids from anaerobically digested cattle feedlot manure (ADM). Barley grown in Year 1 (2006), Year 2 (2007), and Year 4 (2009) (with Year 3 (2008) under fallow) had higher grain yields from ManureF (4.73 Mg ha?1) in Year 2 and ADM (6.30 Mg ha?1) in Year 4 (p < 0.05) than other treatments. The grain N and P contents were not affected (p > 0.05), but N uptake over 3 years (112.8 kg N ha?1 yr?1), and P uptake in Year 1 (19.1 kg ha?1 yr?1) and Year 2 (14.3 kg ha?1 yr?1) from ManureF, were higher (p < 0.05×) than other treatments. The cumulative N2O emissions from ManureF in Year 1 (1.488 kg N ha?1) and from ADM in Year 2 (1.072 kg N ha?1) were higher (p < 0.05) than other treatments while the fraction of applied N emitted as N2O was small (0.00 to 0.79%) and not affected by treatment. However, the percentages of applied N emitted as N2O from compost and ADM were similar to synthetic fertilizer and livestock manure.  相似文献

Abstract

A better understanding of nitrogen (N) availability to crops remains an essential key for a productive and safe production system. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the potential of anionic exchange membranes (AEMs) as part of a soil‐testing procedure to predict in situ soil NO3‐N availability for forage and corn produced in eastern Canada. The AEMs were buried in the surface horizon (0–15 cm) at four experimental sites for forage and at one site for corn. Treatments consisted of five NH4NO3 rates (0, 60, 120, 180, and 240 kg N ha?1) in forage and of six anhydrous ammonia (0, 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 kg N ha?1) in corn production. In all sites, NO3 ? adsorbed on AEMs (NO3AEMs) increased significantly with N fertilizer rates, indicating the ability of the AEMs to detect differences between N fertilizer treatments and to predict the soil N availability to crops. The NO3AEMs fluxes were significantly related to soil NO3‐N concentration as extracted by water or KCl (0.66≤R2≤0.95). Significant relationships between crop N uptake and NO3AEMs were obtained (0.52≤R2≤0.94), suggesting that AEMs can be used as an index of soil N availability. Results indicated that AEMs provide a reasonably accurate evaluation of N availability to forage and corn. Because of their low cost, simplicity, and consistency over years, soils, and crops, AEMs could be efficiently used in soil N availability analysis.  相似文献

Critical acid loads for Dutch forests were derived using a multi-layer steady-state model that includes canopy interactions, nutrient cycling, mineral weathering and N transformations. Values were calculated for combinations of 12 tree species and 23 soil types for a 10×10 km grid. Critical acid loads thus derived increased with decreasing soil depth. Nearly 90% of the values varied approximately between 1500 and 4000 molc ha?1 yr?1 at 10 cm soil depth and between 750 and 2000 molc ha?1 yr?1 at the bottom of the rootzone. Separate critical loads calculated for N and S at the bottom of the rootzone varied between approximately 300 and 1000 molc ha?1 yr?1 for N and between 150 and 1250 molc ha?1 yr?1 for S. Using deposition data of 1990, a median reduction of the deposition by approximately 75% was calculated to achieve the critical loads at the bottom of the rootzone. The overall uncertainty in this value was estimated to be about 10%, although it can be much larger for specific soil types such as clay and peat soils. For N a larger reduction deposition percentage was calculated than for S, especially for coniferous forests with a high present N input.  相似文献

Abstract

Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions were measured monthly over 1 year in three ecosystems on tropical peatland of Sarawak, Malaysia, using a closed-chamber technique. The three ecosystems investigated were mixed peat swamp forest, sago (Metroxylon sagu) and oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) plantations. The highest annual N2O emissions were observed in the sago ecosystem with a production rate of 3.3 kg N ha?1 year?1, followed by the oil palm ecosystem at 1.2 kg N ha?1 year?1 and the forest ecosystem at 0.7 kg N ha?1 year?1. The N2O emissions ranged from –3.4 to 19.7 µg N m?2 h?1 for the forest ecosystem, from 1.0 to 176.3 µg N m?2 h?1 for the sago ecosystem and from 0.9 to 58.4 µg N m?2 h?1 for the oil palm ecosystem. Multiple regression analysis showed that N2O production in each ecosystem was regulated by different variables. The key factors influencing N2O emissions in the forest ecosystem were the water table and the NH+ 4 concentration at 25–50 cm, soil temperature at 5 cm and nitrate concentration at 0–25 cm in the sago ecosystem, and water-filled pore space, soil temperature at 5 cm and NH+ 4 concentrations at 0–25 cm in the oil palm ecosystem. R2 values for the above regression equations were 0.57, 0.63 and 0.48 for forest, sago and oil palm, respectively. The results suggest that the conversion of tropical peat swamp forest to agricultural crops, which causes substantial changes to the environment and soil properties, will significantly affect the exchange of N2O between the tropical peatland and the atmosphere. Thus, the estimation of net N2O production from tropical peatland for the global N2O budget should take into consideration ecosystem type.  相似文献

Abstract

Nitrous oxide (N2O) contributes to global climate change, and its emission from soil–crop systems depend on soil, environmental, and anthropogenic factors. Thus, we evaluated the variability of N2O emissions measured by microchambers (cross section: 184 cm2) from a groundnut–fallow–maize–fallow cropping system of the humid tropics. The crops received inorganic nitrogen (N) plus crop residues (NC), inorganic N alone as ammonium sulfate (RN), and half of the inorganic N along with crop residues and chicken manure (N1/2CM), amounting for the crop rotation to 322, 180, and 400 kg N ha?1 yr?1, respectively. The N2O fluxes during the groundnut–maize crop rotation were log‐normally distributed, and the frequency distributions were positively skewed. Daytime changes in N2O fluxes were inconsistent, and the 50% of total N2O emission during the 12 h measurement periods was attained earlier under maize (~11∶00 h) than groundnut covers (~13∶00 h). Spatial variability in each treatment with eight gas chambers was large but smaller during the cropping periods than the fallow, indicating masking efficiency of crop covers for the soil heterogeneity that was accelerated presumably by antecedent climatic variables. The temporal variability of N2O emissions was also large (coefficients of variation, CV, ranged from 60 to 81%), involving both input differences between treatments and measurement periods. As such, the relative deviation from the annual mean of total N2O emission was high during the period after a large N application with a maximum of +480%, due to addition of chicken manure. The seasonal contribution of summer and monsoon to N2O emissions was insignificant. However, intensive rainfall negatively (?0.65**) and the amount of added N from either source positively (0.83***) correlated with the integrated N2O emissions, and those were exponential. Results suggest that around noon (12∶00 h) gas collection could represent well the daily N2O fluxes, increasing the number or size of the gas chambers could minimize the large variability, and mainly the rainfall and N inputs regulated its emissions in the humid tropics of Malaysia.  相似文献

Elevated atmospheric inputs of NH4+ and NO3 have caused N saturation of many forest ecosystems in Central Europe, but the fate of deposited N that is not bounded by trees remains largely unknown. It is expected that an increase of NO3 leaching from forest soils may harm the quality of groundwater in many regions. The objective of this study was to analyze the input and output of NH4+ and NO3 at 57 sites with mature forest stands in Germany. These long‐term study sites are part of the European Level II program and comprise 17 beech, 14 spruce, 17 pine, and 9 oak stands. The chloride balance method was used to calculate seepage fluxes and inorganic N leaching below the rooting zone for the period from 1996 to 2001. Nitrogen input by throughfall was significantly different among most forest types, and was in the order: spruce > beech/oak > pine. These differences can be largely explained by the amount of precipitation and, thus, it mirrors the regional and climatic distribution of these forest types in Germany. Mean long‐term N output with seepage was log‐normal distributed, and ranged between 0 and 26.5 kg N ha–1 yr–1, whereby 29 % of the sites released more than 5 kg N ha–1 yr –1. Leaching of inorganic N was only significantly lower in the pine stands (P < 0.05) compared with leaching rates of the spruce stands. Median N output : input ratio ranged between 0.04 and 0.11 for the beech, oak, and pine stands, while the input : output ratio of the spruce stands was 0.24, suggesting a higher risk of NO3 leaching in spruce forests. Following log‐transformation of the data, N input explained 38 % of the variance in N output. The stratification of the data by the C : N ratio of the O horizon or the top mineral soil revealed that forests soils with a C : N ratio < 25 released significantly more NO3 (median of 4.6 kg N ha–1 yr–1) than forests with a C : N ratio > 25 (median of 0.8 kg N ha–1 yr–1). The stratification improved the correlation between N input and N output for sites with C : N ratios < 25 (r2 = 0.47) while the correlation for sites with C : N ratios > 25 was weaker (r = 0.21) compared with the complete data set. Our results suggest that NO3 leaching may increase in soils with wide C : N ratios when N deposition remains on a high level and that the potential to store inorganic N decreases with C : N ratios in the O horizons becoming more narrow.  相似文献

The proton budget for a Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) forest in Gunma Prefecture, Japan, was studied by estimating biogeochemical fluxes. The proton budgets were estimated for three individual compartments of the ecosystem: vegetation canopy, and the upper (O horizon + 0–10 cm) and lower (10–100 cm) soil layers. The dominant proton sources in the compartments were atmospheric deposition (1.2 kmol ha?1 yr?1), nitrification (5.1 kmol, ha?1 yr?1) and base-cation uptake by vegetation (8.0 kmol, ha?1 yr?1) respectively. These proton sources were neutralized almost completely within the individual compartments mainly by base-cation release from the canopy or the soil. The sum of internal proton sources was five times as large as that of external ones. Nitrogen input from the atmosphere was 2.2 kmol ha?1 yr?1, whereas its output from the lower soil layer was 3.9 kmol ha?1 yr?1, indicating that a net loss of nitrogen occurred in the ecosystem. However, this did not cause the acidification of soil leachates because of a sufficient release rate of base cations from the soil.  相似文献

Although root crops are widely cultivated in Iran, little is known about soil loss due to crop harvesting (SLCH). We assessed the annual exported soil, soil organic matter (SOM) and nutrients from 47 farms under root crops in southwestern Iran. Abstract

To investigate the effects of renovation (ploughing and resowing) on nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from grassland soil, we measured N2O fluxes from renovated and unrenovated (control) grassland plots. On 22 August in both 2005 and 2006 we harvested the sward, ploughed the surface soil and then mixed roots and stubble into the surface soil with a rotovator. Next, we compacted the soil surface with a land roller, spread fertilizer at 40 kg N ha?1 on the soil surface and sowed orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L., Natsumidori). In the control plot, we just harvested the sward and spread fertilizer. We determined N2O fluxes for 2 months after the renovation using a vented closed chamber. During the first 2 weeks, the renovated plot produced much more N2O than the control plot, suggesting that N was quickly mineralized from the incorporated roots and stubble. Even after 2 weeks, however, large N2O emissions from the renovated plot were recorded after rainfall, when the soil surface was warmed by sunshine and the soil temperature rose 2.7–3.0°C more than that of the control plot. In 2005, during the 67-day period from 19 August to 26 October, the renovated and control plots emitted 5.3 ± 1.4 and 2.8 ± 0.7 kg N2O-N ha?1, with maximum fluxes of 3,659 and 1,322 µg N2O-N m?2 h?1, respectively. In 2006, during the 65-day period from 21 August to 26 October, the renovated and control plots emitted 2.1 ± 0.6 and 0.96 ± 0.42 kg N2O-N ha?1, with maximum fluxes of 706 and 175 µg N2O-N m?2 h?1, respectively. The cumulative N2O emissions from plots in 2005 were greater than those in 2006, presumably because rainfall just after renovation was greater in 2005 than in 2006. These results suggest that incorporated roots and stubble may enlarge the anaerobic microsites in the soil in its decomposing process and increase the N2O production derived from the residues and the fertilizer. In addition, rainfall and soil moisture and temperature conditions during and after renovation may control the cumulative N2O emission.  相似文献

The study was based on data from selected long-term field trials established at the Experimental Fields of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, Novi Sad (Serbia). The effect of tillage systems on SOC concentration and SOC stock was most pronounced at 0–10 cm depth. In a 0–40 cm soil layer, in a 7-year period, no-till (NT) sequestrated 863 kg SOC ha?1 yr?1 more compared to moldboard plow tillage (PT), while the effects of disc tillage (DT) and chisel tillage (CT) were not significantly different. Unfertilized three-crop rotation (CSW) compared to two-crop rotation (CW) enhanced SOC storage in a 0–30 cm soil layer by 151 kg C ha?1 yr?1 in a 56-year period. Within fertilized treatments, SOC concentration was highest under continuous corn (CC). Mineral fertilization (F) non-significantly increased the SOC stock compared to no fertilization in corn monoculture in a 32-year period. The incorporation of mineral fertilizers and harvest residues (F + HR) and mineral fertilizers and farmyard manure (F + FYM) sequestered 195 and 435 kg C ha?1 yr?1 more than the unfertilized plot, respectively, in a 0–30 cm soil layer, in a 35-year period. Irrigation did not significantly affect SOC sequestration.  相似文献

Nutrient fluxes from a soil treatment process for pig slurry   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Abstract. The effects of pig slurry applications to a hydrologically isolated field treatment plant (at Solepur) were studied over a period of eight years. Thirty repeated doses, averaging 160 m3 ha?1 were applied from April to October of each year (1991–1995), to reach a total application of 4930 m3 ha?1. All slurry samples were analysed for their total solids (TS), macronutrient (C, N, P, K, Ca) and micronutrient (Cu, Zn) content. In total, 284 tonnes of total solids (57 t TS ha?1 yr?1), 115 tonnes of carbon (23 t C ha?1yr?1), 24.5 tonnes of nitrogen (4900 kg N ha?1 yr?1), 7964 kg of phosphorus (1593 kg P ha?1 yr?1), 16 518 kg of potassium (3304 kg K ha?1 yr?1), 183 kg copper (37 kg Cu ha?1 yr?1) and 266 kg zinc (53 kg Zn ha?1 yr?1) were applied to the soil. Thus, this site provides an opportunity to assess the balance and to examine the long‐term behaviour of nutrients under conditions of intensive land application of pig slurries or similar effluents. The main nutrient fluxes through the soil‐water system were determined for each element. Over 40% of the total carbon applied was retained by the soil. About 25% of the slurry nitrogen applied remained in the soil profile and 12.5% was leached through the drainage water as nitrate. Most of the slurry phosphorus applied was retained in the soil profile either as P‐Dyer extractable (83%), or as total soil phosphorus (112%); <0.01% was found in the drainage water. Forty‐three per cent of the potassium applied in the slurry was recovered from the soil profile and 15% was recovered in the drainage water. Most of the copper (62%) and zinc (74%) applied in the slurry remained in the soil as EDTA extractractable forms; very low percentages (0.05% and 0.6% respectively) were found in the drainage water.  相似文献
