From 1977 to 1981, critical tests were conducted on 10 horses naturally infected with population B strongyles. Drugs tested were: oxibendazole (OBZ), 10 mg/kg of body weight (n = 1); albendazole, 10 mg/kg (n = 1); a mixture of thiabendazole (TBZ), 44 mg/kg and trichlorfon, 40 mg/kg (n = 1); a mixture of TBZ at 44 mg/kg with piperazine (PPZ) at 55 mg of base/kg (n = 1); febantel (FBT), 6 mg/kg (n = 3), 12 mg/kg (n = 1), or 24 mg/kg (n = 1); and pyrantel (PRT) pamoate, 6.6 mg of base/kg (n = 1). Large strongyles, Strongylus vulgaris (9 horses) and S edentatus (5 horses), were effectively removed (100%) by each compound and mixture. Five species of small strongyles (Cyathostomum catinatum, Cyathostomum coronatum, Cylicocyclus nassatus, Cylicostephanus goldi, and Cylicostephanus longibursatus), previously singled out in this population as resistant to 5 benzimidazoles (TBZ, mebendazole, cambendazole, fenbendazole, and oxfendazole), but not OBZ, were efficaciously removed by OBZ, albendazole, the mixture of TBZ plus PPZ, FBT (24 mg/kg), or PRT. These 5 small strongyle species were resistant to FBT (6 mg/kg) in 3 foals and Cylicostephanus minutus was also resistant in 2 of 3 foals to FBT (6 mg/kg). Doubling the dose of FBT to 12 mg/kg increased the average removal of the 5 basic species plus Cylicostephanus minutus to 88%. The mixture of TBZ and trichlorfon was relatively ineffective against 3 species (C catinatum, C coronatum, and Cylicostephanus longibursatus), but unexpectedly efficacious (86% to 99%) for 2 species (Cylicocyclus nassatus and Cylicostephanus goldi).(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

Critical tests were completed on foals (n = 15) naturally infected with benzimidazole (BZ)-resistant population-B strongyles during the period between 1981 and 1987. Thiabendazole at a dosage of 44 mg/kg was tested in 8 foals, oxfendazole at 10 mg/kg was tested in 4 foals, and phenothiazine at 55 mg/kg, cambendazole at 20 mg/kg, and fenbendazole at 5 mg/kg were tested in 1 foal each. Efficacies of thiabendazole, cambendazole, and fenbendazole against the 5 species of BZ-resistant small strongyles (Cyathostomum catinatum, Cyathostomum coronatum, Cylicocylus nassatus, Cylicostephanus goldi, and Cylicostephanus longibursatus) were partial. Removals in the aggregate averaged 48%, 52%, and 68%, respectively, indicating continued resistance of the 5 species of small strongyles to thiabendazole, cambendazole, and fenbendazole. In contrast, oxfendazole was efficacious, removing an aggregate average of 95% of the 5 BZ-resistant species of small strongyles in the 4 foals. This apparent reversion to susceptibility to oxfendazole may be attributable to paucity of reference data (1 test foal) done in 1976. All 5 species of the BZ-resistant small strongyles had cross resistance to phenothiazine (38% aggregate removal), whereas 9 of the BZ-susceptible species were effectively (99%) removed. Seven critical tests in equids were conducted with single doses of fenbendazole (5 mg kg-1) alone (Panacur--American Hoechst, Somerville, NJ); (2 tests with paste and 1 with suspension formulation) or in combination with piperazine (American Hoechst); (40 mg base kg-1); (4 tests with paste formulation). The main purpose of the tests was evaluation of activity against benzimidazole-resistant small strongyles (Cyathostomum catinatum, Cyathostomum coronatum, Cylicocyclus nassatus, Cylicostephanus goldi, and Cylicostephanus longibursatus). Natural infections of 2 populations of benzimidazole-resistant small strongyles were evaluated; 1 was population B in 2 horses and the other was population S in 5 ponies. Removal of the 5 species of population B was 49-91% in the animal treated with fenbendazole paste alone and 100% (4 of these species present) in the animal treated with the combination. For population S, 2 of the 5 resistant species were present in small numbers in 1 animal treated with fenbendazole paste alone and all were removed; the 1 animal receiving fenbendazole suspension alone had removals of 0-70% for the 5 benzimidazole-resistant species. Also for population S, the 5 resistant species were present in 2 animals treated with the paste combination and removal was 98-100% and of 4 of the 5 resistant species in 1 animal, removal was 76-99%. Removal of large strongyles (Strongylus vulgaris and Strongylus edentatus) was 92-100% for fenbendazole paste alone or in combination with piperazine in the 5 infected animals. For Oxyuris equi, present in 1 animal treated with the combination, there was 91% removal of immature and 100% removal of mature specimens. There probHably was no activity by fenbendazole alone or the combination against bots, tapeworms, and parenteral stages of S. vulgaris and S. edentatus. The combination may have had some activity against immature Habronema spp. and mature abronema muscae.  相似文献

Between 1980 and 1982, the gastrointestinal tracts of 17 horses which had been grazing on mixed grassveld at Potchefstroom and bushveld at Onderstepoort in the province of Transvaal, Republic of South Africa, were examined at necropsy and processed for parasite recovery. The large strongyles and their prevalences were as follows: Strongylus vulgaris and associated lesions (88-94%), Strongylus edentatus (24%), Strongylus equinus (30%), Triodontophorus nipponicus (35%) and Craterostomum acuticaudatum (18%). The seven most prevalent and abundant cyathostomes collected were Cylicostephanus longibursatus, Cylicostephanus goldi, Cylicostephanus calicatus, Cylicocyclus nassatus, Cyathostomum catinatum, Cylicostephanus minutus and Cyathostomum coronatum. Gasterophilus intestinalis was the most prevalent and abundant botfly larva recovered. Most of the cyathostome larvae and adults were present during all seasons except winter. The distribution of cyathostome species in the large intestine of the host is discussed.  相似文献

Twenty ponies were allotted to 4 groups of 5 ponies each, and oxibendazole was orally administered at dose levels of 5, 10, 15, and 20 mg/kg. In the 3 groups of ponies given the largest doses, efficacy against 3 species of Strongylus was between 92 and 100% and that against small strongylids of the genera Cyathostomum, Cylicocyclus, Cylicodontophorus, and Cylicostephanus was more than 99%. All adults and 95 to 100% of larvae of the pinworm Oxyuris equi were removed. In the group of ponies given 5 mg/kg, 86 to 100% of the large strongylids and 84 to 100% of the small strongylids were removed, as were all larval and adult pinworms. Trichostrongylus axei was found only in 4 of the 5 ponies given 5 mg/kg; results were encouraging, but not consistent. Almost all of the Parascaris equorum were found in this group of ponies; no anthelmintic activity was detected at this dose level. Oxibendazole removed approximately 99% of small strongylid 4th-stage larvae. No efficacy against the larval stages of Gasterophilus intestinalis and against Habronema spp and Setaria equina was observed.  相似文献

Objective To compare the efficacy of moxidectin to ivermectin, oxibendazole and morantel against some gastrointestinal nematodes in horses.
Design Faecal egg count reduction after treatment.
Procedure A farm was selected where the population of small strongyles in horses was known to be resistant to oxibendazole. Horses were allocated to treatment groups based on faecal egg counts. After treatment, faecal samples were taken up to 109 days after treatment and faecal egg counts estimated. Faecal cultures were used to estimate the contribution of small and large strongyles to the faecal egg counts at each sampling.
Results Moxidectin (0.4 mg/kg) suppressed faecal egg counts for 109 days after treatment in most horses compared to 40 days with ivermectin (0.2 mg/kg), 13 days with morantel (9.4 mg/kg) and less than 13 days with oxibendazole (10 mg/kg). Most of the faecal egg count was attributable to small strongyles based on faecal culture, although Strongylus vulgaris was present in some samples in low numbers. Oxibendazole resistance in small strongyles was confirmed and a less than expected efficacy of morantel was also seen.
Conclusion Moxidectin was highly effective in reducing faecal egg counts after treatment for at least 12 weeks and up to 16 weeks in most horses. These horses were infected with a population of small strongyles known to be resistant to oxibendazole and possibly morantel. The duration of the reduction in faecal egg counts after treatment with moxidectin (0.4 mg/kg) was at least twice that of ivermectin (0.2 mg/kg) and greater than four times that for morantel and oxibendazole.  相似文献

A controlled test was conducted to assess the efficacy bioequivalence of a single dose of 0.5% fenbendazole (FBZ) top dress pellets to a 10% FBZ suspension formulation (Panacur suspension 10%, Hoechst Roussel Vet). Thirty horses with naturally-acquired parasite infections, in replicates of three, were used. Strongyle egg per gram counts were not significantly different (P>0.1) between groups pretreatment, but FBZ treated groups were significantly different from the control group post-treatment. At necropsy, which occurred seven to nine days post-treatment, two methods of nematode recovery were compared to assess whether a small aliquot can be used in a control test to determine efficacy against large as well as small strongyles. Both post mortem worm recovery techniques revealed similar efficacies of both formulations (>95%) against small and large strongyles, but large differences in the number of worms recovered. Six species of small strongyles comprised 96% of all the small strongyles recovered: Coronocyclus coronatus, Cylicocyclus insigne, Cylicostephanus longibursatus, Cylicocyclus brevicapsulatus, Cylicocyclus nassatus, and Cyathostomum catinatum. The results of this study demonstrated therapeutic bioequivalence between FBZ formulations and also the need to sample at least a 10% aliquot to accurately estimate number of large strongyles. No adverse reactions to treatment were detected.  相似文献

In total, 14 male donkeys aged between 2 and 10 years were obtained in July and November 1986, and January and April 1987 from a communal area in the Zimbabwean highveld, with the aim of studying their parasite populations.

Thirteen species of small strongyles were found, numbers ranging between 3900 and 222 767 worms. The small strongyle populations consisted predominantly of adult worms in all donkeys. These results suggest that rather stable, small strongyle populations, mainly consisting of long-living adult worms, occur in Zimbabwean donkeys.

The species found were, in order of abundance, Cyathostomum montgomeryi, Cylicostephanus minutus, Cylicocyclus nassatus, Cylicocylus auriculatus, Cyathostomum tetracanthum, Cylicostephanus bidentatus, Triodontophorus nipponicus, Cyathostomum coronatum, Cylicocyclus adersi, Cyathostomum alveatum, Triodontophorus serratus, Cylicocyclus elongatus and Cylicodontophorus bicoronatus.  相似文献

The anthelmintic activity of cambendazole 31% paste was evaluated in a controlled trial against naturally acquired gastro-intestinal parasites of the horse. Four groups of five adult horses were treated at dose rates of 0, 15, 20 and 25 mg/kg. The three dose levels of cambendazole tested were efficacious against the large strongyles Strongylus edentatus and S. vulgaris, the stomach worm Trichostrongylus axei, the pinworms Oxyuris equi and Probstmayria vivipara and all the species of small strongyles present. No efficacy was demonstrated against the tapeworm Anoplocephala perfoliata or the horse bots Gasterophilus intestinalis or G. nasalis  相似文献

To determine resistance of small strongyles to albendazole, 3 female ponies (group 1) were grazed on a pasture from May to November 1985 and were treated with 7.5 mg of albendazole/kg of body weight, PO, 2 days before turnout in May and again in June and in July. Three other female ponies (group 2) grazed on a similar pasture from May to July, were treated with 7.5 mg of albendazole/kg, and were removed to another pasture until November. In December, ponies from both groups were treated with 7.5 mg of albendazole/kg, and 8 days later, they were euthanatized and necropsied for a critical test. Worm egg counts in the ponies' feces revealed that the May treatment of group 1 and the July treatment of group 2 were more effective than were later treatments. Numbers of small strongyles were higher in group 1 than in group 2. Efficacy of treatment against all developmental stages of small strongyles was higher in group 2 than in group 1. Efficacy was low in both groups against parasitic 3rd- and 4th-stage larvae. Fifteen species of small strongyles were identified at necropsy. Efficacy was limited against adult Cyathostomum coronatum, Cya labratum, Cylicostephanus calicatus, and Cyl poculatus in both groups; Cylicocyclus nassatus, Cyl minutus, and Cyl longibursatus in group 1; and Cya labiatum in group 2. Efficacy was 100% against Cya catinatum, Cyl goldi, and 5 other species that were found in low numbers.  相似文献

Oxibendazole (OBZ; 10 mg/kg of body weight) was administered to ponies at 8-week intervals to control strongylosis in a breeding band of Shetland-type ponies (n = 29 to 50) from October 1978 through September 1984. A similar use of cambendazole (CBZ; 20 mg/kg of body weight) in this band of ponies during the preceding 4-year period resulted in the survival of a CBZ-resistant population (S) of small strongyles. Effectiveness of OBZ treatments was monitored by pre- and posttreatment counts of the number of strongyle eggs per gram of feces (epg) and of the number of strongyle larvae per gram of feces (lpg). For the first 4 years of the 6-year period, epg and lpg counts were determined for 3 to 5 of the OBZ treatments; during the last 2 years, counts were determined for each treatment. For the 1st year, the mean reduction in epg was 96%. During the 2nd and 3rd years, mean reductions in epg were 80% and 81%, respectively. For the 4th and 5th years, mean reductions in epg were 69% and 43%, respectively. For the 6th year, the mean reduction in epg was 37%. Statistical analyses of the epg data, using the linear plateau method, indicated a significant increase in residual (surviving) strongyle infections after the periodic OBZ treatments, with a mean annual increase in survival of 10.3% for the 6 years. Changes in lpg were variable, but an overall loss of effectiveness of the OBZ treatments was evident. Only infective larvae of small strongyles were observed in the cultures; larvae of 2 species of large strongyles, Strongylus vulgaris and Strongylus edentatus, were conspicuously absent.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

Parenteral administration of ivermectin (22,23-dihydroavermectin B1) significantly reduced the numbers of adult large and small strongyles, the immature stages of small strongyles, pinworm and ascarid, the microfilariae of Onchocerca cervicalis and gastrophilid bots from naturally infected horses. Strongylus vulgaris, S. edentatus and S. equinus were effectively removed by 0.02 mg/kg. Adult small strongyles, Cyathostomum pateratum, C. catinatum, Cylicocyclus nassatus, C. leptostomus, Cyliostephanus minutus, C. longibursatus and C. goldi, were effectively removed by 0.1 mg/kg. Fourth stage small strongyles (cyathostomes), 4th stage Oxyuris equi, 5th stage Parascaris equorum and the microfilarie of Onchocerca cervicalis were significantly reduced by 0.1 mg/kg also. The stomach bots, Gastrophilus intestinalis and G. nasalis, were effectively removed by 0.02 mg of ivermectin/kg. Analysis of the dose response curves obtained for the nematode and larval dipteran parasites found in these naturally infected horses suggests that a parenteral dose of 0.2 mg/kg ivermectin would produce 95% or more removal of these parasites. The antiparasitic efficacies observed for ivermectin in this controlled trial were equivalent to the efficacies found in an abbreviated critical trial contained within the controlled trial. However, it was calculated that the man—day effort required for data collection from one critical trial horse was the same as for 6 controlled-trial horses.  相似文献

Alternate grazing of horses and sheep as a control measure for gastrointestinal helminthiasis was studied in three grazing experiments in 1981, 1982 and 1983. Each year a group of three mare yearling Shetland ponies, which were kept on a small pasture from spring to autumn, were compared with a similar group which grazed a similar or the same pasture until July and were subsequently removed to a similar pasture which had been grazed by sheep from April to July. In addition both groups were treated with an anthelmintic when the latter group was removed to the sheep pasture. Pasture larval counts and worm counts and, in 1982 and 1983, faecal egg counts, clinical condition, total protein, albumin and beta-globulin levels demonstrated that the groups removed to sheep pasture acquired considerably lower burdens of nematodes of the subfamilies Cyathostominae and Strongylinae, but considerably higher burdens of Trichostrongylus axei than the groups which were not moved. These T. axei infections resulted in higher serum pepsinogen levels in the former groups compared to the latter in 1981 and 1982. At necropsy an important part of the T. axei burdens and, in 1982 and 1983, the Cyathostominae burdens consisted of inhibited early third stage larvae. A total of 20 species of the subfamily Cyathostominae and 7 species of the Strongylinae were found. Generally the composition of species was in agreement with other observations in western Europe, the most common species being: Cylicostephanus longibursatus, Cylicostephanus minutus, Cylicostephanus calicatus, Cylicostephanus goldi, Cylicostephanus poculatus, Cyathostomum labratum, Cyathostomum coronatum, Cyathostomum catinatum, Cylicocyclus leptostomus, Cylicocyclus nassatus, Cylicocyclus insigne, Strongylus edentatus and Strongylus vulgaris.  相似文献

The prevalence of benzimidazole-resistant small strongyles was determined in a survey, conducted on 14 thoroughbred studs, which compared the faecal egg counts of groups of horses before and after treatment with the recommended doses of cambendazole (20 mg kg-1 b.w.) or febantel (6 mg kg-1 b.w.). Benzimidazole-resistant cyathostomes were found on all farms examined. Pyrantel pamoate (19 mg kg-1 b.w.), oxibendazole (10 mg kg-1 b.w.) and ivermectin (0.2 mg kg-1 b.w.) reduced the strongyle egg counts on these studs by 97-100% at 2 weeks post-treatment. However, 6 weeks after dosing the reduction of the strongyle egg output had decreased to an average of 67.8% (8.7-97.1%) with pyrantel pamoate and 51.2% (0-95.8%) with oxibendazole, whereas ivermectin still suppressed the egg counts by 98.2% (95-100%).  相似文献

Two trials were conducted to confirm the efficacy of ivermectin paste against endoparasites of horses. In these trials, 20 ponies were treated with ivermectin oral paste at 200 mcg x kg body weight once on Day 0, and 20 ponies served as unmedicated controls. The animals carried naturally acquired parasite infections as confirmed by pretrial fecal examination. The animals were necropsied for worm recovery on Days 14, 15 or 16. Parasites recovered were identified to species. Horses treated with ivermectin had significantly (P<0.05) fewer (>99.0% reduction) adult small strongyles (Coronocyclus spp including C. coronatus, C. labiatus, C. labratus; Cyathostomum spp including C. catinatum, C. pateratum; Cylicocyclus spp including C. ashworthi, C. elongatus, C. insigne, C. leptostomum, C. nassatus, C. radiatus; Cylicodontophorus bicoronatus; Cylicostephanus spp including C. asymetricus, C. bidentatus, C. calicatus, C. goldi, C. longibursatus, C. minutus; Gyalocephalus capitatus; Parapoteriostomum spp including P. euproctus, P. mettami; Petrovinema poculatum; Poteriostomum spp including P. imparidentatum, P. ratzii) and adult large strongyles (Strongylus edentatus, S. vulgaris; Triodontophorus spp including T. brevicauda, T. serratus; Craterostomum acuticaudatum) than the controls. Ivermectin was also highly effective (94% to >99%, P<0.05-0.01) against Gasterophilus intestinalis larvae, Habronema spp., Oxyuris equi, Parascaris equorum. The data from these two trials confirm that ivermectin paste administered to horses orally at 200mcg x kg(-1) continues to be highly effective for treatment and control of a broad range of small and large strongyle species as well as other species of gastrointestinal parasites.  相似文献

The efficacy of the benzimidazole, oxfendazole, and the organophosphate, caviphos, against gastrointestinal parasites of ponies was evaluated by the critcial test method. Oxfendazole (10 mg/kg of body weight) given in single oral doses was 100% effective against adult large strongylids (Strongylus vulgaris, Strongylus edentatus, and Strongylus equinus), 99% effective against adult small strongylids, and 97% effective against 4th-stage small strongylids (genera identified in order of frequency: Cylicostephanus, Cyathostomum, Cylicocyclus, Triodontophorus, Poteriostomum, Oesophagodontus, Cylicodontophorus, Gyalocephalus, and Craterostomum). Caviphos (40 mg/kg of body weight) admixed in the grain ration (horse crunch) was 89% effective against adult large strongylids (S vulgaris and S edentatus) and 99% effective against adult small strongylids (genera identified earlier in order of frequency above), but only 35% effective against 4th-stage small strongylids. Both drugs were effective (100%) against adult and immature pinworms (Oxyuris equi) but ineffective against Habronema spp and Draschia megastoma. Oxfendazole was only 11% effective against stomach bots (Gasterophilus spp); caviphos was 73% effective against these species. During a three-day pretreatment interval, about 34% of the total population of small strongylids was lost spontaneously from the 29 ponies.  相似文献

Seasonal rises in mean faecal egg output were observed in grazing ponies in spring (578 eggs per gram) and in summer (930 epg) on 30 April and 2 September, respectively, in untreated ponies. Pasture infectivity reached a peak of 18,486 third stage larvae (L3)/kg on 17 September, two weeks after peak egg counts, coincidental with abundant September rainfall (103.0 mm). Differentiation of infective larvae from pasture showed the cyathostomes (small strongyles) to be predominant, but Trichostrongylus axei assumed major importance from late August to October. The large strongyles were rarely detected: Strongylus vulgaris was found only once and S edentatus only twice. The most effective parasite prophylaxis was achieved by twice weekly removal of faeces. In this group, concentrations of infective L3 on pasture reached a maximum of 1000 L3/kg, compared to 18,486 L3/kg for a control group and 4850 to 10,210 L3/kg for anthelmintic treatment groups. The removal of faeces increased the grazing area by about 50 per cent, by eliminating the characteristic separation of horse pasture into roughs and lawns. Spring and summer anthelmintic treatments of mature ponies with oxibendazole were effective in reducing the late season rise in pasture infectivity to 4850 L3/kg, but treatment of young ponies (mainly yearlings) with ivermectin every eight weeks or oxibendazole every four weeks resulted in pasture infectivity as high as 10,000 L3/kg. A controlled test was done in 30 naturally infected ponies to evaluate the antiparasitic activity of the dienbendazole analog VET 220-S given alone or with trichlorfon (TCF) by nasogastric intubation. Six ponies were nontreated; 6 were given VET 220-S (5.0 mg/kg); 6 were given TCF (40 mg/kg); 6 were given VET 220-S (2.5 mg/kg) and TCF (40 mg/kg); and 6 were given VET 220-S (5.0 mg/kg) and TCF (40 mg/kg). All ponies were euthanatized and necropsied 7 or 8 days after treatment. Draschia megastoma, Oxyuris equi, Strongylus vulgaris, S edentatus, and small strongyles were removed efficaciously by all doses of VET 220-S. Habronema muscae and microfilariae of Onchocerca cervicalis were not removed by VET 220-S or TCF. Gasterophilus intestinalis was 97.9% removed by TCF. Pregnant mares in all groups were not adversely affected by treatment, except for 1 mare that had diarrhea after TCF treatment. Parasite eggs per gram and larval culture data agreed with necropsy data.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To assess the occurrence of gastrointestinal parasites in horses in Perth. To apply polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the identification of some species of encysted larval cyathostomes. DESIGN: Between February and September of 2000, the gastrointestinal tracts of 29 horses submitted to a local knackery and Murdoch University Veterinary hospital in Perth were examined post mortem for the presence of gastrointestinal parasites. PROCEDURE: The gastrointestinal tract was divided into six sections, which were screened for the presence of parasites such as Gasterophilus sp, Anoplocephala sp and Parascaris equorum. Samples of contents were taken for worm counts. RESULTS: Cyathostomes were found in 28 of the 29 horses. Eighteen species of gastrointestinal helminths were identified. Twelve of these were cyathostomes, with the four most common species being Cyathostomum catinatum, Cylicocyclus nassatus, Cylicostephanus longibursatus and Cylicostephanus goldi. The large strongyle, Triodontophorus serratus, was found in three of the horses but species of Strongylus were not found. CONCLUSIONS: In contrast to a study conducted on horses from this region in 1985, cyathostomes were the most common gastrointestinal parasites found. The four most common cyathostome species found in the present study correlated well with findings of studies in other locations. The high number of cyathostomes may be due to the increase in resistance to anthelmintics among the species, and to improper anthelmintic use. The apparent reduction in number of large strongyles may be due to the widespread use of ivermectin, which is very effective against these parasites, and also possibly because some larvae may not have been detected.  相似文献

Research on benzimidazole-resistant Population S small strongyles began in a Shetland pony herd in 1974 at the University of Kentucky and has continued for over 25 years. The present update, for the period 1992-1999, evaluated activity of pyrantel pamoate (PRT) in field tests in the pony herd. Additional critical tests with PRT and oxibendazole (OBZ) were done in foals born in the herd. Activity of PRT was initially excellent in field tests, based on epg/lpg count data, but declined rapidly during the second full year of pyrantel treatments. Critical test data for small strongyles indicated efficacies of PRT were about 60% at the beginning of the present observations and this intermediate level of removal continued throughout the seven-year period except for 1994 (75%). Unusual was the finding that field test epg/lpg data on small strongyles indicated much lower activity of PRT than found in worm count data in critical tests. The previously reported ineffective activity of OBZ on this population of small strongyles continued. Data are presented on prevalence and drug activity on several species of internal parasites besides small strongyles.  相似文献
