Hydrolysis of [14C]-radiolabeled 1, 3-dichloropropene (1, 3-D) was studied at pH 5, 7 and 9 at 10, 20 and 30°C in sterile buffered water. The rate of hydrolysis was independent of pH at each temperature, with measured half-lives of 3-1 (±0.l), 11.3 (±0.5) and 51 (±2.3) days at 30, 20 and 10°C, respectively. The activation energy for the hydrolysis reaction was determined to be 23.9 kcal mol?1 deg?1. One hydrolysis product was formed during the course of the study and was identified by co-chrornatography with analytical standards, using h.p.l.c., to be 3-chloroallyl alcohol. The alcohol appeared to be stable to further hydrolytic conversion and was formed in the same cis: trans ratio as in the initial 1, 3-D starting material, indicating essentially identical rates of hydrolysis for the cis and trans isomers of 1, 3-D.  相似文献

The reproduction of a Meloidogyne hispanica isolate from Portugal was evaluated in 63 plant species/cultivars, in pot assays at 25?±?2.0°C, on the basis of root gall index (GI) and reproduction factor (Rf?=?final/initial egg density) at 60 days after inoculation. Cultivars of aubergine, bean, beetroot, broccoli, carnation, corn, cucumber, French garlic, lettuce, melon, onion, parsley, pea, potato, spinach, and tobacco and two of cabbage were susceptible (3?≤?GI?≤?5; 1.15?≤?Rf?≤?262.86). Cabbage cv. Bacalan, cauliflower cv. Temporão and pepper cv. Zafiro R2 were hypersusceptible or poor hosts (Rf??2) and pepper cvs. Aurelio and Solero were resistant (0.0?≤?GI?≤?0.4; 0.00?≤?Rf?≤?0.03). The response of the pepper cultivars and the Mi-1 resistant tomato cv. Rossol was also conducted in pots using two inoculum levels and four temperatures, three growth chamber (25?±?2.7°C, 29.3?±?1.8°C and 33.6?±?1.2°C) and one outdoors (24.4?±?8.2°C). At 24.4?±?8.2°C and 25?±?2.7°C, the reproduction on the resistant tomato was significantly lower compared to the susceptible cv. Easypeel. At all temperatures, resistance was evident for the pepper cultivars, despite the fact they were not found to contain any of the Me1, Me3, Me7 and N genes. The eggs obtained on cv. Aurelio at 33.6?±?1.2°C were used to get a selected resistance breaking isolate of M. hispanica that was able to reproduce on the three pepper cultivars. Our results suggest that the initial M. hispanica isolate is a mixture of virulent and avirulent individuals. The pepper cultivars tested, have potential to reduce M. hispanica populations in agro-ecosystems under certain conditions, but they should be used as a part of an integrated management strategy in order to prevent the development of virulent populations.  相似文献

The effect of high temperature on survival and longevity of Cryptolaemus montrouzieri Mulsant (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) female adults was studied in the laboratory by daily exposure of the beetles to 35°C (mean r.h. 52%) combined with 1-, 2- and 3-h intervals of thermal treatment at 38, 40, 42 and 44°C (r.h. 46–48%). Fifty percent of females survived until the 12th–13th day of the thermal treatment at 38°C (depending on the exposure time), the 2nd–10th day at 40°C for 1–2 h exposure and the 4th–5th day at 42°C for 1 h exposure. Survival was 25–38% on the 1st–2nd day of the thermal treatment at 40, 42 and 44°C for 3, 2 and 1 h of exposure, respectively. Three hours of exposure of female C. montrouzieri at 42°C and 2 h exposure at 44°C were lethal for the beetles. Mean longevity of the predator was 33.13?±?1.22 days at 35°C and was significantly shorter as the temperature of the thermal treatments increased from 38o to 44°C. These results suggest that daily temperature regimes of 35°C combined with 38–40°C for 1–3 h are marginal for the survival and longevity of the C. montrouzieri, whereas temperatures above 42°C are lethal even at short exposure. These results can partly justify the inability of C. montrouzieri to be permanently established in Pakistan environments and could contribute to a pre-evaluation assay of its potential adaptability in such environmental systems.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The pyrethroid insecticide etofenprox is of current interest to rice farmers in the Sacramento Valley owing to its effectiveness against the rice water weevil, Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus Kuschel. This study aimed to describe the partitioning of etofenprox under simulated rice field conditions by determining its Henry's law constant (H) (an estimate of volatilization) and organic carbon‐normalized soil–water distribution coefficient (Koc) at representative field temperatures. A comparison of etofenprox and λ‐cyhalothrin is presented using a level‐1 fugacity model. RESULTS: Experimental determination of H revealed that etofenprox partitioned onto the apparatus walls and did not significantly volatilize; the maximum value of H was estimated to be 6.81 × 10?1 Pa m3 mol?1 at 25 °C, based on its air and water method detection limits. Calculated values for H ranged from 5.6 × 10?3 Pa m3 mol?1 at 5 °C to 2.9 × 10?1 Pa m3 mol?1 at 40 °C, based on estimated solubility and vapor pressure values at various temperatures. Log Koc values (at 25 °C) were experimentally determined to be 6.0 and 6.4 for Princeton and Richvale rice field soils, respectively, and were very similar to the values for other pyrethroids. Finally, temperature appears to have little influence on etofenprox sorption, as the log Koc for the Princeton soil at 35 °C was 6.1. CONCLUSION: High sorption coefficients and relatively insignificant desorption and volatilization of etofenprox suggest that its insolubility drives it to partition from water by sorbing to soils with high affinity. Offsite movement is unlikely unless transported in a bound state on suspended sediments. Copyright © 2009 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Radiochemical studies of field soil treated with 14C oryzalin (3,5-dinitro-N4,N4-dipropylsulfanilamide) indicated that the compound was readily degradable. One year after soil treatment with oryzalin, 45% of the original radioactivity had dissipated, 25% was extractable, and 30% was “soil bound”. The extractable fraction contained oryzalin and several degradation products, some of which were isolated and identified. No single degradation product accounted for more than 3% of the applied oryzalin. The “soil-bound” radioactivity was extractable with hot alkali. No significant radioactive residues were detectable in either seed or forage of soybean and wheat plants. No specific metabolites of oryzalin were identified in soybean plants. Trace amounts of radioactivity found in plant tissue appeared to be associated with the various plant constituents.  相似文献

Fenpropimorph is an inhibitor of Δ8→Δ7-isomerase and Δ14-reductase in fungi and cycloeucalenol-obtusifoliol-isomerase and Δ8→Δ7-isomerase in higher plants. A detailed conformational analysis of the most potent enantiomer (S)-fenpropimorph is described. The conformational analysis is based on three different methods: molecular mechanics calculations. NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. In solution several conformations coexist. The molecular mechanics calculations using MM2(85) show a folded conformation of the unprotonated form of fenpropimorph to be stabilized by at least 3 kcal mol?1 relative to the next lowest energy conformer, suggesting only one conformation of fenpropimorph to be present. A corresponding stabilization of the protonated form (5.4 kcal mol?1) is obtained. However, this stabilization is found partly to be due to attractive steric interactions and may be a phenomenon occurring only in vacuum. In the solid state, fenpropimorph exists in an L-shaped conformation resembling one of the low-energy conformers obtained with MM2(85). Based on comparison with the natural substrate, a totally extended conformation of fenpropimorph is suggested to be the biologically active conformation for interaction with the Δ8 → Δ7-isomerase in fungi.  相似文献

The mode of action of trifluralin (α,α,α-trifluoro-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropyl-p-toluidine), oryzalin (3,5-dinitro-N4,N4-dipropylsulfanilamide), pronamide(N-(1,1-dimethylpropynyl) 3,5-dichlorobenzamide), and propham (isopropyl carbanilate) on purified microtubules from pig brains and on the ultrastructure of wheat (Triticum aestivum L. “Mediterranean,” C. I. 5303) and corn (Zea mays L. “yellow dent, U. S. 13”) roots was compared with that known for colchicine. Colchicine disrupts the in vivo cortical and spindle microtubules of root cells. Like colchicine, the herbicides trifluralin, oryzalin, and pronamide caused the loss of both cortical and spindle microtubules of root cells. The rate of microtubule disappearance depended on the type of herbicide and length of exposure of roots to the herbicide. Unlike colchicine, cortical microtubules were present in propham-treated roots but they were disoriented within the cell.In vitro polymerization studies with pig brain microtubules (Sus scrofa) showed that the herbicides failed to inhibit the assembly of purified microtubular protein into microtubules and that radioactively labeled herbicides did not bind to the microtubular protein. Colchicine inhibited the polymerization of microtubular protein and readily bound to the microtubular subunits. These results indicate that the mode of action of the herbicides is not similar to that of colchicine and that the loss of microtubules from root tip cells treated with trifluralin, oryzalin, and pronamide may be caused by these herbicides interfering with synthesis of microtubular protein or metabolism of endoplasmic reticulum membranes involved in microtubule assembly. The mode of action of propham appears to be on the microtubular organizing centers rather than on microtubules per se.  相似文献

In order to determine the effect of pH and temperature on post-harvest dip solutions of dimethoate (500 mg litre?1), the half-lives and pseudo first-order rate constants were calculated from measurements at pH 4, 6, 8, 10, 11.5, and at two temperatures 25 and 52°C. The half-lives ranged from 206 days to 39.3 min at 25°C, and from 5.6 days to 205s at 52°C; the rate constants ranged from 3.9 × 10?8 s?1 to 2.9 × 10?4 s?1 at 25°C, and from 1.4 × 10?6 s?1 to 3.4 × 10?3 s?1 at 52°C. The results show that the water used in dips should have a pH≤7. The addition of benomyl to the dip solutions at two concentrations (0.5 and 1.0 g litre?1) had no effect on the half-lives and rate constants. The use of hard and salted waters in dips also showed no major effect. A formula was developed that gives the half-life of the dimethoate as a function of the pH and temperature.  相似文献

A CIPAC/AOAC test with tomato plants is used to specify the volatility ratings of herbicide ester formulations. This work compares the tomato plant test with an alternative chemical one. The concentrations of esters and the effective molecular weight and density of each formulation were used with the ester vapour pressures to calculate its herbicide vapour pressure as complete, and evaporated formulations. The range was from 28.8 mPa (at 257deg;C) for a mixture of 2,4–D esters to 0–07 mPa (at 25°C) for a 2,4,5–T-(iso-octyl) formulation, as complete formulations, and 35-5 and 0–16 mPa (at 25°C) as evaporated ones. A value of 0–6 mPa (at 25°C) was selected on the basis of the tomato plant test as the cut-off area for low-volatile esters and is recommended to be included in specifications for herbicide esters. Formulations with a herbicide vapour pressure above 3.3 mPa (at 25°C) are high-volatile ones according to the tomato plant test, while between 0–6–3.3 mPa (at 25°C) is a borderline region where the test gives mixed results. Levels of 2,4–D-ethyl and methyl were added to pure 2–ethylhexyl esters of 2,4–D and a 2,4,5–T-(iso-octyl) formulation to find what level of contamination would change the rating of these esters from low to high volatile. Formulations of 2,4–D-(iso-octyl) should not contain more than 11 g litre?1 2,4–D as methyl ester or 2.0 g litre?1 2,4–D as ethyl ester. Formulations of 2,4,5–T-(iso-octyl) should not contain more than 26 g litre?1 2,4–D as methyl ester or 4.7g litre?1 2,4–D as ethyl ester.  相似文献

N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) levels in samples of 600 g litre?1 aqueous dimethylamine (DMA) solution stored at 4, 25 and 40°C, in formulations of the DMA salt of 2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2, 4-D) and of the DMA salt of 4-chloro-2-methylphenoxyacetic acid (MCPA) at 40°C were monitored using a gas-liquid chromatograph coupled with a thermal energy analyser (g.l.c./t.e.a.). The NDMA content of aqueous DMA at 4°C increased from 0.32μgg?1 to 8.6μgg?1 in 156 days. At 25°C it increased from 0.20μgg?1 to 10.5 μgg?1 in 156 days and at 40°C from 0.76μgg?1 to 7.12μgg?1 in 54 h. At 40°C, the NDMA in the 2, 4-D/DMAsalt increased from 0–53μgg?1 to 2.79μgg?1 in 96 days and in the MCPA/DMA salt from 0.48μgg?1 to 5.51 μgg?1 in 21 days.  相似文献

The performance of low concentrations of methyl bromide against diapausing larvae of Ephestia elutella at 15 and 25°C was assessed in extended exposure periods. At concentrations of 1.9 mg litre?1 and below, test batches required higher concentration-time (ct) products for 100% kill at 25°C than at 15°C. The minimum concentration at which the concentration: time relationship still applied was between 1.3 and 1.9 mg litre?1 at 15°C, whereas at 25°C it was between 2.7 and 4.0 mg litre?1. For many individuals within each population sample, however, lower concentrations at moderate dosage levels remained lethal. At 25°C, a ct product of about 90 mg litre?1 h gave between 53 and 77% kill at 6.1, 4.0, 2.7 and 1.9 mg litre?1. The trends observed suggest that the most tolerant members of the population have an enhanced ability to detoxify methyl bromide at the higher temperature. The implications of the results for the build-up of resistance and for practical control measures are discussed.

Chemical or microbial degradation of sulfonylurea herbicides in soil. I. Sulfometuron methyl The rates of degradation of sulfometuron methyl in a soil and in aqueous solution at the same pH were measured at different temperatures. The Arrhenius relationship was verified between 20°C and 75°C. The calculated activation energy in soil and in solution was 94 kJ mol?1 and 117 kJ mol?1, respectively. From the fact that the Arrhenius relationship is followed up to 70°C, it is proposed that the mechanism of degradation in the soil is chemical. Analysis of the metabolites formed in sterile and non-sterile soil was performed using sulfometuron methyl labelled with 14C in the pyrimidine ring. In both soils the main metabolite isolated was 2-amino-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine. No significant difference has been observed between sterile and non-sterile soils.

The dosages of methyl bromide required to control insect pests can be expressed as concentration, time (Ct) products for concentrations down to a certain minimal level, here defined as the efficacy threshold, below which Habers Ct rule (C×t=k,a constant for mortality) no longer applies. Twelve strains of seven species of stored-product beetle were tested to identify efficacy threshold concentrations at 15°C and 25°C. For each strain the efficacy threshold was higher at 25°C than at 15°C. Different species differed widely in the threshold levels identified. Strains with a higher than usual tolerance to methyl bromide than their standard stock counterparts had slightly higher efficacy thresholds at 25°C but not at 15°C. The order of tolerance of the standard stocks to methyl bromide at 15°C was Tribolium confusum> T. castaneum> Oryzaephilus surinamensis> Rhyzopertha dominica> Sitophilus granarius> S. zeamais> S. oryzae, and at 25°C Tribolium castaneum > T. confusum> R. dominica> O. surinamensis> S. granarius> S. zeamais> S. oryzae. The order of efficacy thresholds largely reflected the order of susceptibility, S. oryzae and S. zeamais having the lowest efficacy thresholds of about 0.6 mg litre?1 at 15°C and 1.3-2.0 mg litre?1 at 25°C, while Tribolium spp. had the highest, 1.3-2.0 mg litre?1 at 15°C and 2.5-4.0 mg litre?1 at 25°C.  相似文献

MCPA was weakly absorbed in soils with 2.4, 3.0 and 2.9% humus. Kd-values were 0.7, 0.9 and 1.0, respectively. In soil, not previously treated with MCPA, the degradation of 0.05 mg kg?114C-MCPA followed first-order reaction kinetics whereas degradation of 5 mg kg?1 was only first-order for 2 weeks; exponentially increasing degradation rates followed indicating enrichment of the soil with MCPA decomposers. Degradation was monitored by evolution of 14CO2. The influence of temperature on degradation of MCPA (4 mg kg?1) could initially be described by Q10 values or by the Arrhenius equation. After 1 day of incubation in two field soils Q10 values were 3.3 and 2.9, respectively, between 0°C and 29°C; the activation energies were 87 and 76 kj mol?1. Exponentially increasing degradation rates followed with doubling times of about 4.0, 1.8, 1.2 and 0.6 days at 6,10, 15 and 21°C, respectively. After 51 days of incubation, at temperatures between 6°C and 29°C, about 60%14C was evolved in CO2 and only traces of MCPA were left in the soil. At 0°C and at 40°C only 1% and 10%14C, respectively, were evolved as CO2 after 51 days. 14C-MCPA (4 mg kg?1) was incubated at moisture contents from that in air-dried soil to 2.3 times field capacity. Optimum for degradation was from 0.6 to 1.2. field capacity. Degradation was very slow where water contents were below the level of wilting point and was nil in air-dried soil. In wet soil degradation was delayed, but even in water-logged soil (2.3 times field capacity) MCPA was decomposed after 4 to 5 weeks at 10°C.  相似文献

In this study certain biological and prey consumption features of the predator of mealybug, namely Nephus kreissli Fürsch & Uygun (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae), fed on vine mealybug Planococcus ficus (Signoret) (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae), were determined under the laboratory conditions. Experiments were performed in the acclimatized room under 28?±?1°C, 60?±?10% r.h. and a photoperiod of 16:8 h(L:D) conditions. To determine the biological features of the coccinellid, predator individuals were continuously observed from egg stage to end of adult stage. The development, survival and fecundity of N. kreissli were determined and all the measured data were recorded daily. The total development time from egg to the eclosion of adult stage was determined as 31.6?±?0.4 days. The lifespan of males and females was 66.0?±?3.8 and 65.8?±?3.5 days, respectively; and a single female laid 122.6 eggs. The raw data related to life history were analyzed by using the age-stage, two-sex life table. The intrinsic rate of increase, the net reproductive rate, and the mean generation time were 0.0709?±?0.0036 d?1, 53.1?±?9.5 offspring and 55.8?±?1.3 days, respectively. The first and second instars of N. kreissli preferred egg stages of P. ficus to other stages of mealybug. On the other hand, third and fourth instars and adult predators preferred the second and third instar nymphs and adult females of the prey. It was determined that the egg consumption of N. kreissli increased with the development of larval stages, and that the highest consumption was recorded in its fourth instar.  相似文献

Warehouse moth (Ephestia elutella) larvae in diapause were exposed at 15°C to methyl bromide at 8 mg litre?1 for 14.5 h and then immediately exposed at a lower concentration. The exposure at 8 mg litre?1 killed 44–69% of the larvae treated. Subsequent concentrations down to 1.1 mg litre?1 obeyed Haber's rule (concentration × time= k, a constant for mortality), but a higher concentration-time product (ct) was required for over 90% kill at 0.8 mg litre?1. Only concentrations down to 1.9 mg litre?1 obey Haber's rule if there is no prior exposure at a higher concentration. Although minimum effective concentrations are lower at 15°C than at 25°C, exposure at a higher concentration depresses the subsequent level to a similar extent at each temperature. The contribution to the efficacy of a treatment, of low concentrations persisting at the end of fumigation, is thus likely to be even greater at moderate to low temperatures than at 25°C. The implications for the development of resistance to methyl bromide are discussed.  相似文献

A new model membrane system has been developed which simulates in many ways the behaviour of a plant cell membrane. It is very suitable for studying the penetration and associated effects of plant growth substances because of its large size (4.9±0.3 cm2), its ease of preparation and its reproducible properties. It consists of a Millipore filter disc impregnated with egg yolk lecithin, n-octanol and n-tetradecane. The effect of a number of plant growth and allied compounds on membrane conductivity at 25±0.5°c has been assessed by the addition of various concentrations of these substances to the solutions (0.01 M-NaCl) on each side of the membrane. Certain compounds present in the solutions (pH 3.0) in the concentration range 10?4 M to 10?3 M considerably reduced the membrane conductivity. This effect was seen to be related to the structure of the hydrophobic portion of the molecule. The flux through the membrane at 25±0.5°c of various organic substances (2,4-D, benzoic acid, benzyl alcohol, benzamide and benzaldehyde) was measured for membranes containing no lecithin and compared with the flux obtained in comparable experiments, with lecithin present in the membrane. The presence of lecithin increased the flux, and the percentage increase was used to assess in each case the part played by lecithin in transport. The flux of 2,4-D was much greater at low pH values. A possible interpretation of these phenomena is suggested.  相似文献

The development, fecundity and survival ofStethorus gilvifrons Mulsant (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) fed onTetranychus cinnabarinus Boisduval (Acari: Tetranychidae) were recorded at three constant temperatures (20, 25 and 30±1°C) and 50±10% relative humidity, under two photoperiods (16:8 L:D and 8:16 L:D) produced using artificial light (4000 lux). The development rate for the egg stage (r[Te]) increased linearly with increasing temperature (r[Te]=0.0132*T ? 0.0955; R2=0.95). The theoretical egg-development threshold was estimated to be 7.24°C; 75.75 degree-days (DD) were required for hatching. The total development time (r[Tt]) also decreased linearly with increasing temperature (r[Tt]=0.0039*T ? 0.0325; R2=0.98). The development threshold was estimated to be 8.33°C and full development from egg to adult required 256.41 DD. Higher temperatures resulted in a shorter generation time (T 0) and decreased net reproductive rate (R 0). The length of the previposition and postoviposition period, as well as longevity, decreased significantly with increasing temperature under both photoperiods. The oviposition and postoviposition periods, longevity, and total fecundity were not significantly affected by photoperiod. The values of both the intrinsic rate of increase (r m ) andR 0 were highest under the long-day photoperiod at 25°C. The mortality rate was lowest at 20°C under the short-day photoperiod. Of the conditions tested, the optimum temperature for rearingS. gilvifrons was 25°C and the optimum photoperiod was 16:8 L:D.  相似文献

The green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer) (Hemiptera: Aphididae), is a major pest of pepper. In this study, we collected data on the development, survival, fecundity, and proportion of apterous and alate forms of green peach aphid reared on five commercial pepper cultivars (Amiral, Erciyes, Mert, Mertcan, and Naz) at 25?±?1°C, 60?±?5% RH, and a photoperiod of 16:8 (L:D) h. We analyzed the life history raw data by using the age-stage, two-sex life table. The shortest development time (6.66 days) and highest fecundity (62.68 individuals) occurred on the Erciyes cultivar. The highest intrinsic rate of increase (r?=?0.332 d?1), finite rate of increase (λ?=?1.394 d?1), net reproductive rate (R0?=?62.7 offspring) and shortest mean generation time (T?=?12.45 d) also occurred on the Erciyes cultivar; while the lower fitness occurred on the Amiral, Mertcan and Naz cultivars. Our results compared differences in the population growth rate of M. persicae on different pepper cultivars. This information will be useful to individuals working in pest management programs particularly those involving M. persicae.  相似文献

Chemical acidic hydrolysis of metsulfuran methyl The chemical degradation of metsulfuron methyl in acidic aqueous solution involved two pathways: hydrolysis of the urea function and hydrolysis of methoxy radical. Decrease of pH (6 to 1) strongly increased activity but selectivity remained unchanged. Increase of temperature (25 to 55°C) enhanced the rate of reaction (EA= 84 kj mol?1) and favoured the urea function hydrolysis. Other factors (presence of various transition metals cations, humic acids or clays) were generally of limited effect, sometimes the rate of reaction was affected.  相似文献
