Four experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of supplementing graded levels (0 to 100 ppm) of L-carnitine to the diet of weanling pigs on growth performance during a 34- to 38-d experimental period. A fifth experiment was conducted to determine the effects of addition of L-carnitine to diets with or without added soybean oil (SBO) on growth performance. In Exp. 1, 128 pigs (initial BW = 5.5 kg) were allotted to four dietary treatments (six pens per treatment of four to six pigs per pen). Dietary treatments were a control diet containing no added L-carnitine and the control diet with 25, 50, or 100 ppm of added L-carnitine. In Exp. 2, 3, and 4, pigs (4.8 to 5.6 kg of BW) were allotted to five dietary treatments consisting of either a control diet containing no added L-carnitine or the control diet with 25, 50, 75, or 100 ppm of added L-carnitine. All diets in Exp. 1 to 4 contained added soybean oil (4 to 6%). There were seven pens per treatment (four to five pigs per pen) in Exp. 2, whereas Exp. 3 and 4 had five and six pens/treatment (eight pigs per pen), respectively. In general, dietary carnitine additions had only minor effects on growth performance during Phases 1 and 3; however, dietary L-carnitine increased (linear [Exp. 1], quadratic [Exp. 2 to 4], P < 0.03) ADG and gain:feed (G:F) during Phase 2. The improvements in growth performance during Phase 2 were of great enough magnitude that carnitine addition tended to increase ADG (linear, P < 0.10) and improve G:F (quadratic, P < 0.02) for the entire 38-d period. In Exp. 5, 216 weanling pigs (5.8 kg of BW) were allotted (12 pens/treatment of four to five pigs per pen) to four dietary treatments. The four dietary treatments were arranged in a 2 x 2 factorial with main effects of added SBO (0 or 5%) and added L-carnitine (0 or 50 ppm). Pigs fed SBO tended (P < 0.07) to grow more slowly and consumed less feed compared with those not fed SBO, but G:F was improved (P < 0.02). The addition of L-carnitine did not affect (P > 0.10) ADG or ADFI; however, it improved (P < 0.03) G:F. Also, the increase in G:F associated with L-carnitine tended to be more pronounced for pigs fed SBO than those not fed SBO (carnitine x SBO, P < 0.10). These results suggest that the addition of 50 to 100 ppm of added L-carnitine to the diet improved growth performance of weanling pigs. In addition, supplemental L-carnitine tended to be more effective when SBO was provided in the diet.  相似文献

Three factorial experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of various Ca:P ratios (1:1, 2:1 and 3:1) in diets having deficient (.3%), adequate (.6%) and excess (.9%) levels of dietary P on rate and efficiency of gain and bone strength of 192 pigs from 18 to 40 kg BW. A corn-soybean meal diet fortified with minerals and vitamins (but not vitamin K) was fed. Levels of Ca and P were achieved by adjusting the amounts of dicalcium phosphate and ground limestone in the diet. The corn was free of detectable mycotoxins. A hemorrhagic condition occurred in Exp. 1 in pigs fed the higher dietary Ca levels; all eight of the pigs fed 2.7% dietary Ca died of internal hemorrhage within the initial 28 d of the experiment. Vitamin K (5 mg menadione [as menadione dimethylpyrimidinole bisulfite]/kg) was added to half of the diets of the remaining animals and the experiment was continued for an additional 14 d. Prothrombin and whole blood clotting times were increased (P less than .01) in pigs fed high Ca without vitamin K but were normal in pigs fed high Ca with added vitamin K. Similar trends in clotting times occurred in a second experiment. A third experiment was conducted to determine whether the addition of vitamin K could reverse the hemorrhagic condition induced by feeding high dietary Ca for 28 d. As in the other two experiments, clotting times were increased (P less than .01) in pigs fed high Ca and no vitamin K. Addition of vitamin K after 28 d resulted in a return to basal prothrombin values by d 50. In regard to the original objectives, increasing the Ca:P ratio from 1:1 to 2:1 or 3:1 tended to reduce rate and efficiency of gain at all levels of P. Increasing the Ca:P ratio to 2:1 resulted in increased bone strength only when P was at or above the dietary requirement.  相似文献

Five 28- to 33-d experiments involving 460 crossbred pigs weaned at 28 +/- 2 d of age (initial weight, 6.7 to 8.1 kg) were conducted to determine the effects of feeding high dietary levels of Cu sulfate (CuSO4) or Cu oxide (CuO) on rate and efficiency of gain and liver Cu stores of weanling pigs. The pigs were housed in groups of five to six/pen and fed a fortified, unmedicated, corn-soybean meal-dried whey basal diet (1.1% lysine, 30 ppm Cu). In Exp. 1 and 2, pigs (eight replicates) were fed the basal or the basal plus 125 or 250 ppm Cu from CuSO4 or CuO for 28 d. In Exp. 3 and 4, four replications were fed the same diets as in Exp. 1 and 2 plus two additional diets (500 ppm Cu from CuSO4 or CuO). In Exp. 5, dietary levels of 0, 125, 250, 375 or 500 ppm Cu from CuSO4 were evaluated using four replications. At the end of each experiment, the liver from one pig in each pen was collected for Cu analysis. Overall, rate and efficiency of gain were improved (P less than .01) by feeding 125 or 250 ppm Cu as CuSO4, with the 125 ppm dietary level being about 75% as effective in stimulating growth as 250 ppm. Performance of pigs was not different from controls when the highest (500 ppm) level of Cu (from CuSO4) was fed. A total of 144 weanling pigs (5.5 ± 0.42 kg) were used in a 5‐week trial to evaluate the effect of fermented garlic powder (FGP) supplementation in weaning pigs. Pigs were randomly allocated to the following four dietary treatments: (i) control (CON; basal diet), (ii) FGP0.5 (CON + 0.5 g/kg FGP), (iii) FGP1 (CON + 1 g/kg FGP), (iv) FGP2 (CON + 2 g/kg FGP). There were six replications with six pigs (three barrows and three gilts) per pen. Pigs fed FGP0.5 treatments increased (p < 0.05) average daily gain (ADG) and average daily feed intake (ADFI) during 3–5 and 0–5 week. No difference was observed on gain/ feed (G/F) ratio in this study. The inclusion of FGP1 and FGP2 treatments increased DM (p < 0.05) digestibility compared with the CON treatment throughout the experiment. The apparent total tract digestibility of N was (p < 0.05) increased by the dietary FGP throughout the experiment. Pigs fed FGP1 and FGP2 treatments increased the lymphocyte concentration (p < 0.05) and RBC concentration compared with the CON group. Dietary FGP decreased the blood total cholesterol (p < 0.05) in comparison with the CON group. The triglyceride (p < 0.05) concentration was decreased in FGP1 and FGP2 treatments compared with those in the CON treatment at the end of the experiment. Pigs fed FGP1 and FGP2 treatments had a lower number of Escherichia coli in faeces on 21 (p < 0.05) and 35 days (p = 0.05) than those in the CON treatment. In conclusion, dietary fermented garlic powder (0.5 g/kg) can improve ADG and ADFI in weanling pigs, but not at higher levels (1 and 2 g/kg). Dietary fermented garlic powder can also increase the nutrient digestibility, lymphocytes and RBC concentrations, but decrease the faecal E. coli concentration in weaning pigs.  相似文献

A three-week trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of the oligosaccharide stachyose on performance, diarrhoea incidence and intestinal bacterial populations in weaned pigs (7.96 +/- 0.2kg). A total of 144 crossbred (Landrace x Large White x Duroc) pigs weaned at 28 days were allotted to one of four treatments with six pens per treatment and six pigs per pen. The experimental diets were based on maize, dried whey and whole-fat milk and were supplemented with 0, 1 or 2% stachyose. A fourth diet contained no milk but instead contained 20% soybean meal to provide 0.78% stachyose and 0.21% raffinose. Inclusion of 1 or 2% stachyose in the diet depressed growth compared with pigs fed the control diet. Pigs fed the soybean meal diet gained weight at a rate similar to pigs fed the diet containing 1% added stachyose. Diarrhoea incidence was highest for pigs fed the soybean meal diet and lowest for pigs fed the control diet, with pigs fed the diets containing stachyose being intermediate. Pigs fed 1% stachyose had more lactobacilli in the ileum as well as more bifidobacteria in the caecum and colon than control pigs. They also had fewer enterobacteria in the colon. In contrast, pigs fed the diet containing 2% stachyose had fewer lactobacilli and bifidobacteria in the jejunum, ileum and caecum than did control pigs. Volatile fatty acids in the ileum, caecum and colon were highest for pigs fed 1% stachyose and lowest for pigs fed 2% stachyose. Volatile fatty acid concentrations were not significantly different between pigs fed the soybean meal diet and those fed the control. The overall results of this experiment indicate that the oligosaccharide stachyose had a negative effect on pig performance and its presence may partially explain the poorer performance observed when soybean meal is used as the sole source of supplemental protein in cereal-based diets fed to weaned pigs.  相似文献

Two experiments were conducted with lambs fed concentrate-based diets to study the effects of dietary P and soil ingestion on performance, P utilization and mineral composition of serum and alimentary tract contents. In Exp. 1, 20 wether lambs were fed diets for 21 d in a 2 X 2 factorial arrangement of treatments with .2 or .3% total dietary P and O or 9% added Florida Ultisol (highly weathered soil with high P-fixation capacity) containing 4,600 and 6,400 mg/kg total Al and Fe, respectively. True P absorption increased (P less than .05) from 30 to 42% and from 37 to 54% when soil was added to the basal and high P diets, respectively. In Exp. 2, 24 wether lambs were assigned randomly to a 2 X 2 X 2 factorial arrangement of treatments. Lambs were fed during a 70-d period using diets described previously on either a restricted or an ad libitum basis. Soil increased Fe concentration in ruminal fluid (P less than .05) and ash percentage (P less than .001) in ruminal solids and feces. Aluminum concentration in ruminal solids and feces and Fe in ruminal solids were increased (P less than .001) by soil addition, whereas concentrations of Ca, Mg, P, Zn, Cu and Mn in ruminal solids and feces were decreased (P less than .01) by soil addition. There were time X P interactions on serum inorganic P (P less than .01) and Mg (P less than .05) concentrations. Although high in P-fixing capacity, soil fed to lambs in these experiments improved P utilization. Lambs appeared to be able to adapt to changes in intake of dietary minerals in soil, possibly through adaptation of ruminal microflora or a redistribution of body mineral pools.  相似文献

Yearling crossbred steers (n = 60; 386 kg) were individually fed in a completely randomized experimental design to determine their P requirement. Treatments were in a factorial arrangement with two levels of Ca (.35 or .70% of DM) and five concentrations of P (.14, .19, .24, .29, or .34% of DM). The finishing diet consisted of 34.5% dry-rolled corn, 22.5% brewers grits, 22.5% corn bran, 7.5% ground corncobs, 5% molasses, 3% fat, and 5% supplement. Supplemental P was provided as monosodium phosphate and Ca as limestone. Ash content was determined on the first phalanx bone from the lower front legs following slaughter, and rib bone breaking strength was determined with an Instron Universal Testing Machine. Carcass maturity and shear force were also evaluated on wholesale rib cuts. Because no interactions between Ca and P levels were detected, only main effects are presented. Daily gain, DMI, and feed efficiency were not affected by dietary P concentration or P intake. Bone ash (g or g/100 kg BW) and rib bone breaking strength were also unaffected by dietary P. Feeding .7% Ca decreased (P<.06) ADG and efficiency compared with feeding .35% Ca. Neither dietary Ca nor P had a significant effect on tenderness (shear force), skeletal maturity, or overall maturity. These results indicate that the P requirement for finishing yearlings is .14% of diet DM or less and that supplementing P above levels supplied by basal ingredients in many grain-based finishing diets is not necessary.  相似文献

The objective was to determine the effects of fermentable carbohydrates on phosphorus (P) metabolism, the chemical composition of the faecal mixed bacterial mass (MBM) and the microbial activity in the large intestine (LI) of pigs. Eight barrows (mean BW 35.9 ± 0.9 kg), fitted with simple T‐cannulas at the terminal ileum, were either fed a low‐P corn–soybean meal‐based control diet or 75% of the control diet supplemented with 25% cellulose, starch or pectin according to a 4 × 3 Latin Square design. Both pectin and cellulose caused higher faecal than ileal P recoveries. Ileal volatile fatty acids (VFA) levels were more pronounced for the starch (p < 0.05) rather than the cellulose and pectin treatments, whereas pectin resulted in a higher faecal VFA concentration in comparison to starch and cellulose (p < 0.05). The differences in faecal VFA concentrations corresponded to the pH values obtained in faeces. The N content of MBM was higher (p < 0.05) when cellulose was supplemented. Pectin caused a decrease in the P content of the MBM compared to the control (p < 0.05). As a result, the N:P ratio was significantly higher for the pectin (N:P = 4.33) than for the control treatment (N:P = 2.63), while the Ca:P ratio remained constant for all treatments, suggesting changes in the accumulation of N, P and Ca in MBM, probably due to changes in the species composition and activity of the microflora.  相似文献

Ninety-six 3-wk-old pigs (6.3+/-0.12 kg initial BW) were allotted to one of eight treatments based on BW and litter origin to determine the effect of dietary phosphorus and an inflammatory challenge on performance and immune function. Four corn-soybean meal-based treatment diets were formulated to contain 0.16, 0.24, 0.32, or 0.40% available P. Monocalcium-dicalcium phosphate was used as the supplemental P source. The Ca:available P ratio was maintained at 2:1. To challenge the pigs, half of the pigs in each dietary treatment were injected i.m. with E. coli lipopolysaccharide (200 microg/kg of BW) on d 7 and 14. This resulted in a 2 x 4 factorial arrangement of treatments. Average daily gain for the 35-d study was increased linearly (P < 0.01) by increasing supplemental P. Average daily gain and ADFI were decreased (P < 0.05) by lipopolysaccharide injection. Serum P concentrations increased linearly (P < 0.01) with increasing supplemental P. Antibody titers to the injection of sheep red blood cells and ovalbumin on d 21 decreased linearly (P < 0.10) by increasing supplemental P. In vitro blastogenic response of lymphocytes to phytohemagglutinin (PHA) on d 25 was increased linearly (P < 0.05) by increasing supplemental P. Blastogenic response of lymphocytes to pokeweed mitogen on d 25 was not affected. On d 31, skinfold thickness 6 h following an intradermal injection of PHA was increased quadratically (P < 0.07) by increasing supplemental P. There were no P x lipopolysaccharide interactions for any immune response measure. In conclusion, increasing supplemental P increased ADG and enhanced cell-mediated immune response but decreased humoral immune response.  相似文献

在仔猪饲粮中分别添加低聚果糖(FOS)、异麦芽低聚糖(GOS)和甘露寡糖(MOS),用48头35日龄杜×长断奶仔猪进行了为期28 d的饲养试验,观察了功能性低聚糖对断奶仔猪腹泻的防治作用及生产性能的影响.将试验猪随机分为4组,即在基础日粮中分别添加FOS 3 g/kg、GOS 2 g/kg和MOS 3 g/kg的3个处理组和1个对照组,观察了仔猪的生长发育情况,记录了各组耗料量和体重,采集血清和全血以及粪样进行了分析测试.结果表明,FOS组仔猪腹泻频率降低了66%;GOS组降低了25%;MOS组降低了54%;FOS、GOS和MOS组的血清SOD、GSH-Px活性均较对照组显著提高(P<0.05或P<0.01);3种低聚糖组仔猪的外周血T淋巴细胞数(CD3)、IgG水平均较对照组显著提高(P<0.05或P<0.01);3种低聚糖组仔猪的日增重和饲料报酬均有明显的提高.  相似文献

Three experiments were conducted to determine the effects of phytase, excess Zn, or their combination in diets for nursery pigs. In all experiments, treatments were replicated with five to seven pens of six to seven pigs per pen, dietary Ca and available P (aP) levels were decreased by 0.1% when phytase was added to the diets, excess Zn was added as ZnO, a basal level of 127 mg/kg of Zn (Zn sulfate) was present in all diets, and the experimental periods were 19 to 21 d. In Exp. 1, pigs (5.7 kg and 18 d of age) were fed two levels of phytase (0 or 500 phytase units/kg) and three levels of excess Zn (0, 1,000, or 2,000 ppm) in a 2 x 3 factorial arrangement. Added Zn linearly increased ADG and ADFI during Phase 1 (P = 0.01 to 0.06), Phase 2 (P = 0.02 to 0.09), and overall (P = 0.01 to 0.02). Gain:feed was linearly increased by Zn during Phase 1 (P = 0.01) but not at other times. Dietary phytase decreased ADG in pigs fed 1,000 or 2,000 ppm Zn during Phase 2 (Zn linear x phytase interaction; P = 0.10), did not affect (P = 0.27 to 0.62) ADFI during any period, and decreased G:F during Phase 2 (P = 0.01) and for the overall (P = 0.07) period. Plasma Zn was increased by supplemental Zn (Zn quadratic, P = 0.01) but not affected (P = 0.70) by phytase addition. In Exp. 2, pigs (5.2 kg and 18 d of age) were fed two levels of phytase (0 or 500 phytase units/kg) and two levels of Zn (0 or 2,000 ppm) in a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement. Supplemental Zn increased ADG and G:F during Phase 2 (P = 0.02 to 0.09) and overall (P = 0.07 to 0.08), but it had no effect (P = 0.11 to 0.89) on ADG during Phase 1 or ADFI during any period. Phytase supplementation increased ADG (P = 0.06) and G:F (P = 0.01) during Phase 2. Gain:feed was greatest for pigs fed 2,000 ppm Zn and phytase (Zn x phytase interaction; P = 0.01). Bone (d 20) and plasma Zn (d 7 and 20) were increased (P = 0.01) by added Zn but not affected (P = 0.51 to 0.90) by phytase. In Exp. 3, pigs (5.7 kg and 19 d of age) were fed a basal diet or the basal diet with Ca and aP levels decreased by 0.10% and these two diets with or without 500 phytase units/kg. Supplemental phytase had no effect (P = 0.21 to 0.81) on growth performance. Reduction of dietary Ca and aP decreased (P = 0.02 to 0.08) ADG, ADFI, and G:F for the overall data. These results indicate that excess dietary supplemental Zn increases ADG and plasma and bone Zn concentrations. Dietary phytase did not affect plasma or bone Zn concentrations.  相似文献

A 2 x 3 factorial experiment in a randomized complete block design was conducted using a total of 180 weanling pigs in five replicates. The study evaluated the efficacy of two dietary vitamin E sources (D-alpha-tocopherol, DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate) added at three dietary levels (16, 48, 96 IU/kg) during a 35-d postweaning trial. Pigs within each treatment were fed two similarly fortified vitamin E diets in sequence; the first contained 40% milk products and was fed to 14 d, and the second contained 20% milk product and 5% fat and was provided from 15 to 35 d postweaning. Five pigs per pen per replicate were bled weekly for serum analysis of alpha-tocopherol, Se, cholesterol, triglyceride, and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) activity. At the end of the trial, one pig per pen was randomly selected and killed with liver, loin, lung, and heart excised and frozen for tocopherol analysis. Postweaning gains, feed intakes, and efficiencies were similar between the two vitamin E sources and at the various dietary levels. Serum tocopherol concentrations were consistently higher when D-alpha-tocopherol was provided. Vitamin E sources and levels had no effect nor did they influence weekly serum Se, cholesterol, or triglyceride concentrations or GSH-Px activity. A serum and tissue interaction (P less than .05) response occurred between dietary vitamin E source x level with alpha-tocopherol concentrations increasing linearly (P less than .01) as dietary vitamin E level increased, but at a higher rate when D-alpha-tocopherol than when DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate as fed.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

本试验用装有永久性瘤胃瘘管、十二指肠近端T型瘘管的3只湖羊(35±5)kg作为试验动物,按3×3拉丁方试验设计方案,研究了日粮蛋白质水平分别为8.4%(A)、11.2%(B)、14.0%(C)时对湖羊瘤胃和十二指肠pH值、氨态氮、尿素氮浓度的影响。结果表明:①瘤胃pH为6.31~6.43,各组间差异不显著(P>0.05);十二指肠pH为2.64~2.70,各组间差异不显著(P>0.05)。②瘤胃氨态氮浓度(3.24~11.99)mg/100mL,C组极显著高于A、B组,B组极显著高于A组(P<0.01);十二指肠氨态氮浓度(3.01~7.88)mg/100mL,C组极显著高于A、B组,B组极显著高于A组(P<0.01)。③瘤胃尿素氮浓度(13.81~17.51)mg/100mL,C组极显著高于A、B组(P<0.01),B组显著高于A组(P<0.05);十二指肠尿素氮浓度(4.1~5.91)mg/100mL,B、C组极显著高于A组(P<0.01),B组与C组差异不显著(P>0.05)。  相似文献

Three experiments involving 304 pigs were conducted to determine the related effects of copper (Cu), calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) on the performance and liver Cu stores of growing-finishing pigs. Rate and efficiency of gain were improved by the addition of 250 ppm of Cu to the diets. Improvements in rate of gain averaged 6.6% (652 vs 696 g/d) to 60.5 kg body weight and 1.7% (713 vs 725 g/d) to 94.5 kg body weight. Feed:gain ratio was improved by 1.4% to 60.5 kg and 1.6% to 94.5 kg body weight when Cu was added to the diet. Increasing the dietary Ca and P levels from .65% Ca and .55% P to 1.2% Ca and .86 or 1.0% P resulted in increased (P less than .01) growth rate to 60 and 95 kg (649 vs 699 g/d and 700 vs 737 g/d, respectively), but feed efficiency was not affected (2.86 vs 2.84 and 3.18 vs 3.17 kg feed/kg gain, respectively.) Feeding the higher Ca and P levels resulted in increased liver Cu levels in pigs fed 250 ppm Cu (189 vs 323 ppm), but Ca and P did not affect liver Cu of pigs fed low Cu diets (29 vs 28 ppm). When dietary Ca and P were varied independently, the high Ca level increased liver Cu, but P had little effect on liver Cu. Increasing the dietary P level partially alleviated the effect of Ca on liver Cu.  相似文献

选用60只体重相近的2月龄新西兰肉兔,随机分为5组,分别饲喂5种酸性洗涤纤维(ADF)水平(13%、16%、19%、22%和25%)的日粮,旨在探讨我国家兔适宜的ADF需要量。结果表明:随日粮ADF水平升高,胃占活重比重先增加后降低(P<0.05),小肠占活重比重各处理间差异不显著(P>0.05),盲肠占活重比重显著增加(P<0.05)。日粮ADF水平对试兔胸腺指数日粮影响显著(P<0.05),对脾脏指数影响不显著(P>0.05)。随日粮ADF水平提高,试兔心脏和肾脏相对重量先上升后下降(P<0.05),肝脏相对重量逐渐下降(P<0.05);试兔全净膛和半净膛屠宰率呈先上升后下降的趋势(P>0.05)。由此认为,2~3月龄肉兔适宜的ADF水平为16%~19%。  相似文献

An experiment was conducted to determine the effects of yeast culture (YC) and modified yeast culture [YC + cell wall product (CWP) containing mannan oligosaccharides] in pig diets on the performance, gut integrity, and blood cell composition of weanling pigs and to determine whether these dietary supplements could replace antimicrobial growth promoters (AGP) in pig diets. A total of 480 weanling pigs (27 d old and 7.8 +/- 0.1 kg of BW) were assigned to 1 of 4 experimental treatments: 1) diets without AGP or YC (control diet); 2) control + AGP; 3) control + 0.125% YC; and 4) control + 0.125% YC + 0.2% CWP. Piglets were fed experimental diets for 5 wk after weaning. Blood samples were collected from 8 piglets at weaning and from 8 piglets per treatment on d 14 and 35 after weaning for blood cell composition. These piglets were slaughtered for measurement of villous length and crypt depth in the jejunal mucosa and microbial profiling on the intestinal digesta. Average daily gain (P = 0.06) and G:F (P = 0.02) were improved for piglets that were fed the supplemented diets compared with piglets that were fed the control diet. Average daily feed intake was unaffected by dietary treatment. Performance was similar in piglets fed diets supplemented with AGP, YC, and YC + CWP. Blood cell composition, villous length, crypt depth, and microbial composition in the gut were unaffected by dietary treatment, but they were affected by time after weaning. Red blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit value, mean cell volume, mean cell hemoglobin, percentage of lymphocytes in the leukocyte population, villous length, and crypt depth were greater (P < 0.05) at 5 wk after weaning than at 2 wk after weaning. Eosinophils (P = 0.06) in the leukocyte population tended to be greater at 5 wk after weaning. Concentration of neutrophils in the leukocyte population and percentages of CD4 and CD8 cells were lower (P < 0.02) at 5 wk after weaning. The CD4:CD8 ratio (P = 0.07) tended to be lower at 5 wk after weaning. Results suggest that yeast culture could be an alternative to AGP in the diets of weanling pigs and that addition of CWP to diets containing YC would not improve the performance or health of weanling pigs above that of YC alone. Thus, more insight into the mode of action of YC is needed.  相似文献

1. Performance, gait score (GS), tibial dyschondroplasia (TD), and tibia bone mineralisation and breaking strength were determined in 2880 male and female Ross 208 broilers fed on diets with two different concentrations of dietary metabolisable energy (ME) (11.00 or 12.00 MJ/kg) and 4 different concentrations of available phosphorus (aP) adjusted for dietary ME content (4.0, 4.5, 5.0 or 5.5 g/kg aP in starter and 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 or 5.0 g/kg aP in finisher diets containing 12.00 MJ/kg). 2. Tibia ash, calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) contents in broilers given diets with low ME (11.00 MJ/kg) were greater than those of broilers given diets with higher ME (12.00 MJ/kg). Tibia ash, Ca and P contents increased curvilinearly with increasing dietary aP content. The dietary aP level had no effect on GS. 3. Dietary concentration of ME or aP had no effect on tibia breaking strength. 4. Walking ability, as measured by GS, was negatively correlated with the body weight (BW) of tested birds at 23 and 35 d of age, but the dietary ME content or aP level had no significant effect on GS at 35 d of age. 5. The results indicated that bone mineral content had no clear correlation with the walking ability of broilers.  相似文献
