Jatropha seed cake (JSC) is an excellent source of protein but does contain some antinutritional factors (ANF) that can act as toxins and thus negatively affect the growth and health status of fish. While this can limit the use of JSC, detoxified Jatropha protein isolate (DJPI) may be a better option. An 8-week study was performed to evaluate dietary DJPI to common carp Cyprinus carpio. Five iso-nitrogenous diets (crude protein of 38%) were formulated that consisted of a C ontrol (fish meal (FM) based protein), J 50 or J 75 (50 and 75% of FM protein replaced by DJPI), and S 50 or S 75 (50 and 75% of FM protein replaced by soy protein isolate, SPI) and fed to triplicate groups of 75 carp fingerlings (75; av. wt. ± SD; 11.4 ± 0.25 g). The growth, feeding efficiencies, digestibility, plasma biochemistry, and intestinal enzymes were measured. Results showed that growth performance of fish fed the S 75- or DJPI-based diets were not significantly different from those fed the C ontrol diet, while carp fed the S 50 had significantly better growth than the J 75 diet. Fish fed the J 75 diet had significantly lower protein and lipid digestibility as well as significantly lower intestinal amylase and protease activities than all other groups. However, all plant protein-based diets led to significantly higher crude protein, crude lipid, and gross energy in the body of common carp compared to the control treatment. Plasma cholesterol and creatinine significantly decreased in the plant protein fed groups, although plasma triglyceride as well as the red blood cells count, hematocrit, albumin, globulin, total plasma protein, and lysozyme activity were higher in plant protein fed groups compared to FM fed group. White blood cells, hemoglobulin concentration, alkaline phosphatase and alanine transaminase activities, and glucose level in blood did not differ significantly among treatments. The results suggest that the DJPI is non-toxic to carp and can be used to replace FM in the diets of common carp up to 75%, but further research to potentially reduce some inherent ANF within this protein source, such as non-starch polysaccharides, may improve nutrient utilization.  相似文献

As amino acids (AAs) are vital molecules in the metabolism of all living organisms and are the building blocks of enzymes, a 6-week feeding trial was conducted for determining the influence of dietary essential amino acid (EAA) deficiencies on pancreatic, plasma, and hepatic enzyme activities in silvery-black porgy (initial weight 4.7?±?0.01 g) juveniles. Eleven isoproteic (ca. 47%) and isoenergetic (ca. 20.5 MJ kg?1) diets were formulated including a control diet, in which 60% of dietary nitrogen were provided by intact protein (fish meal, gelatin, and wheat meal) and 40% by crystalline AA. The other 10 diets were formulated by 40% reduction in each EAA from the control diet. At the end of the experiment, fish fed with threonine-deficient diet showed the lowest survival rate (P?<?0.05), whereas growth performance decreased in fish fed all EAA-deficient diets, although the reduction in body growth varied depending on the EAA considered. Pancreatic enzymes (trypsin, lipase, α-amylase, and carboxypeptidase A) activities significantly decreased in fish fed the EAA-deficient diets in comparison with fish fed the control diet (P?<?0.05). Fish fed with the arginine-deficient diet had the highest plasma and liver alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, and alkaline phosphatase levels (P?<?0.05). Plasma and liver lactate dehydrogenase and superoxide dismutase showed the highest and lowest values, respectively, in fish fed the arginine and lysine-deficient diets (P?<?0.05). Plasma metabolites were significantly affected by dietary EAA deficiencies (P?<?0.05). The results of this study suggesting dietary EAA deficiencies led to reduction in growth performance as well as pancreatic and liver malfunction. An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to compare the effects of supplementing (0.7 mg kg?1) different dietary selenium (Se) sources including organic [selenomethionine (SeMet)], inorganic [sodium selenite (Na2SeO3)], and nanoparticulate Se (nano-Se) on physiological responses of common carp, Cyprinus carpio juveniles (9.7?±?0.1 g). Basal diet without Se supplementation used as control. Fish fed nano-Se supplemented diet had the highest weight gain (97.2?±?10.8%) and feed efficiency ratio (42.4?±?0.8%). Intestinal villi height was significantly taller in fish fed nano-Se diet than in the control group in both foregut and midgut sections. Serum glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase activities were significantly higher in nano-Se and SeMet groups than in control and sodium selenite groups. Fish fed Se-supplemented diets had greater red blood cell counts and hematocrit and hemoglobin values than the control group (P?<?0.05). Nano-Se and SeMet groups showed a significant increase in white blood cell counts, neutrophil percentage, and serum lysozyme activity than the other groups. Fish fed nano-Se diet had the highest serum hemolytic activity, total immunoglobulin, and total protein and albumin contents, as well as the lowest serum total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein levels (P?<?0.05). This study was undertaken to explore the systemic metabolic strategies of juvenile grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus) to maintain growth when fed with different dietary protein levels. The optimal growth group and two growing discomfort groups were selected through the basic data, to explain the growth difference from appetite regulation and lipid and glucose metabolism perspective. Three experimental diets were formulated with three dietary protein levels at 200.3, 296.1 and 442.9 g kg?1, named P1, P2 and P3, respectively. Juvenile grass carp (initial body weight 12.28 ± 0.14 g) were fed with three diets with 3 replications per dietary treatment in an indoor recirculation system for an 8-week feeding trial. Fish fed with diet P2 dietary group showed significantly higher WG, SGR, FI and PER than other groups. Compared with other groups, mRNA expressions of NPY, Y8a and Y8b in fish fed with P2 significantly down-regulated, while the expressions of CCK and CART in fish fed with P3 significantly down-regulated (P < 0.05). With increasing dietary protein levels, G6Pase, GK, PK and PEPCK were all significantly inhibited (P < 0.05). For lipid metabolism, the mRNA expression of ACC in P1 dietary group was significantly higher than P3 dietary group; besides, LPL expression in P3 group was significantly higher than other two groups (P < 0.05). PPARα expression in P2 was significantly lower than other groups (P < 0.05). These results suggested that grass carp fed with P2 (296.1 g kg?1 protein level) showed highest weight gain, contributed to more balanced nutrient metabolism and appetite regulation. Too high dietary protein (442.9 g kg?1) should be avoided because it induced lowest PER, body lipid and liver lipid, and inhibited glucose and lipid metabolism in juvenile grass carp.  相似文献

We investigated the effects of replacing non-fermented wheat grains with wheat grains fermented by fungal mycelia in the diet of juvenile rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). We assessed growth performance, feeding parameters, and body composition in three experimental groups (0.33?±?0.01 g, in triplicates of 50 individuals each). The diets for all the groups contained ca. 43% protein and 19% lipids. Experimental diets were made by replacing the 100 g kg?1 of wheat grains present in the basal diet (CTRL) with the same proportion of wheat grains fermented by Pleurotus ostreatus (PWD) or Lentinus edodes (LWD) mycelium. Fish were fed to apparent satiation twice a day for 56 days. Both, PWD and LWD, significantly increased fish body weight from day 28 onwards. Final body weight was 2.37?±?0.04 g (CTRL), 4.29?±?0.02 g (PWD), and 3.50?±?0.05 g (LWD), and feeding efficiency (%) was increased from 64.5?±?0.7 (CTRL) to 92.5?±?0.5 (PWD) and 84.8?±?1.5 (LWD). Body lipid content was highest for PWD followed by LWD and CTRL (81.4?±?1.4, 63.2?±?2.5, 42.3?±?2.6 g kg?1, respectively), while viscerosomatic index was lowest for PWD (p?<?0.05). Liver glycogen in LWD and PWD fish (0.62?±?0.10 and 0.21?±?0.08% liver weight) was significantly higher than in CTRL fish (0.05?±?0.01% liver weight). Wheat-mycelium meals appear to be suitable dietary ingredients for improving juvenile rainbow trout growth and nutritional performance. The effects of galactooligosaccharide (GOS) and a combination of yeast and β-glucan (YβG) supplementation of dietary soybean meal (SBM) on the growth and digestive performance of striped catfish Pangasianodon hypophthalmus were evaluated. Four isonitrogenous (30% protein) and isocaloric (19 MJ/kg diet) diets were formulated to contain 100% fish meal (FM) protein, 55% FM protein/45% SBM protein, FM-SBM supplemented with 1% GOS, and a combination of 1% yeast and 0.1% β-glucan, respectively. Each diet was fed for 12 weeks to three groups of 30 striped catfish fingerlings (average weight 16.45?±?0.07 g) maintained in circular fiberglass tanks (600 l). Growth, feed utilization, and muscle protein composition of fish improved significantly after supplementation with either GOS or YβG compared to the unsupplemented SBM diet, but were similar to those of fish fed the FM diet. Nutrient digestibility, digestive enzyme activities, villi and microvilli length were significantly increased in fish fed the supplemented SBM diets. The gut microbiota ranking profile showed that supplementing the SBM diet with YβG and GOS gave a ranking of Verrucomicrobia, Spirochaetes, Bacteriodetes, and Actinobacteria phyla similar to that of the FM diet. Thus, diet containing 45% protein from soybean supplemented with either GOS or YβG can be recommended to improve the growth and digestive performance of striped catfish.  相似文献

The present study was carried out to evaluate the effect of dietary taurine (Tau) on performance, digestive enzymes, antioxidant activity, and resistance of common carp, Cyprinus carpio L., fry to salinity stress. Fish (0.97?±?0.033 g) were fed on different taurine levels of 0.0 (control), 5, 10, 15, or 20 g/kg diet up to satiation twice daily for 8 weeks. At the end of the feeding trial, fish were stressed by exposure to 10 ppt salinity for 3 days during which fish mortality was observed. Corn gluten meal (CGM) has a high protein content and absence of antinutrients. However, it has high levels of carotenoids that can cause a yellowing of fish fillets and impair further commercialisation. Graded levels of CGM were incorporated in pacu diets to replace soybean meal (SM) protein. The experimental diets were formulated to be isonitrogenous (220 g kg?1 digestible protein) and isoenergetic (13.4 MJ kg?1 digestible energy) with 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100 % replacement of SM protein by CGM protein over a 60-day period. One hundred fish (32.79 ± 3.43 g) were randomly distributed in 20 experimental cages (70 L) placed within five (1000 L) aquaria with continuous water renewal. The experimental design was completely randomised with five treatments and four replicates. A quadratic effect (P < 0.05) was observed for fillet and carcass yields, feed conversion ratio, weight gain, and specific growth rate, with the optimum values for replacement of SM protein by CGM protein estimated as 21.95, 29.13, 30.94, 37.71, and 38.75 %, respectively. There were no differences (P > 0.05) for blood parameters, proximal composition, water-holding capacity, pH, lipid oxidation, and a* value of fillets. The L* and b* values of fillets showed differences (P < 0.05). Replacement between 21.95 and 38.75 % of SM protein by CGM protein (5.37 and 9.48 % of inclusion in the diet) improves the growth performance and body yield of pacu juveniles without altering blood parameters or affecting the fillet quality.  相似文献

Replacement of fish meal with squilla silage in practical diet for the juvenile giant freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, was evaluated. Five iso-nitrogenous and iso-caloric diets were prepared in which protein requirements were met with 100% fish meal (control, diet 1) and squilla silage replacing fish meal at 25, 50, 75 and 100% (diets 2, 3, 4 and 5, respectively). Water stability and water absorption of five feeds revealed significant differences (P?<?0.05). The weight gain varied between a maximum of 248.50?±?34.07% in diet 4 to lowest 132.45?±?14.34% in diet 1. A nutrition trial with striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) juveniles was undertaken to evaluate the effect of replacing dietary fishmeal (FM) protein with corn gluten meal (CGM). A diet with FM as the main protein source was used as the control diet (FM). Five experimental diets (approximately 320 g kg?1 crude protein) were formulated to progressively replace 20% (CGM20), 40% (CGM40), 60% (CGM60), 80% (CGM80) and 100% (CGM100) of FM protein. Fifteen fish per tank (initial weight 11.2 ± 0.6 g) were randomly distributed into 18 80‐litre fibreglass tanks connected to a closed recirculation system (temperature 30.3 ± 1.0 °C). The diets were tested in triplicate for 12 weeks. The final weight and specific growth rate (SGR) of fish fed diets CGM20, CGM40 and CGM60 were not significantly different compared to fish fed the FM diet. Feed intake (FI) tended to decrease with increasing dietary CGM level. Striped catfish fed FM, CGM20 and CGM40 had significantly lower feed conversion ratio (FCR) compared with fish fed CGM80 and CGM100 (< 0.05). The protein efficiency ratio (PER) of fish fed the CGM80 and CGM100 diets was significantly lower than those of all other treatments (< 0.05). Total ammonia‐nitrogen (TAN) excretion increased with elevated dietary CGM inclusion. The viscerosomatic index (VSI) of fish fed the CGM80 and CGM100 diets were significantly higher (< 0.05) than those of fish fed the other treatments. The crude lipid content in the final body composition of the striped catfish was elevated significantly with increasing dietary CGM levels. Fish fed the CGM80 and CGM100 diets displayed haematocrit levels significantly lower (< 0.05) than those fed the other diets. The haemoglobin content in fish was significantly higher in fish fed CGM20 and lower at CGM100 compared to fish fed the FM diet. The results of the present trial indicated that the optimum level of FM protein replacement with CGM determined by quadratic regression analysis was 25.1% on the basis of maximum SGR.  相似文献

Seven days after Edwardsiella ictaluri exposure, survival rates were 50, 41.7, 31.7, and 8.3% for fish fed control, 50, 100, and 250 μg AFB1 kg?1, respectively. This trial shows that AFB1 at a level of 50 μg AFB1 kg?1 and above can affect fish performance and disease resistance. Administration of probiotic candidates in fish has generally been shown as a useful strategy to improve growth performance, survival, digestive enzyme activity, and gut microbiota. Unfortunately, the sero-immunological responses of different fish to different probiotic candidates are poorly understood. The present study assessed the effect of Pediococcus acidilactici as a probiotic on the biochemical and immunological parameters of beluga. Fish (248.32?±?10.21 g) were fed a control diet (without P. acidilactici( and three different doses of P. acidilactici-supplemented diets (107, 108, and 109 CFUg?1 diets) for 8 weeks. On week 8, blood and serum were sampled. Dose-dependent increase of immunological parameters (respiratory burst activity, lysozyme content, serum antibacterial activity, and total immunoglobulin) and biochemical parameters (total protein and albumin levels) was observed. However, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) were significantly increased in the juvenile beluga fed by 109 CFUg?1 P. acidilactici-supplemented diet compared to the other groups. Based on the results of this evaluation, it is reasonable to conclude that the inclusion of P. acidilactici as probiotic in diets for juvenile beluga improves the sero-immunological parameters of the fish and should be considered by farmers as a strategy to improve fish health.  相似文献

To evaluate the effect of thermal and microbial stress on the immune response of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.), relative mRNA expression level of pro-inflammatory cytokines [tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin (IL)-1β] and other genes related to immune or stress response [inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70), superoxide dismutase one (SOD1), and glucocorticoid receptor (GR)] was measured by quantitative PCR (qPCR). In addition, total protein and total immunoglobulin level in blood plasma of experimental common carp was also assayed. All the above parameters were estimated 24 h post-challenge with Gram-negative bacterium, Aeromonas hydrophila. Common carp (54.89?±?6.90 g) were initially exposed to 20 °C (control group) and 30 °C (thermal stress group) water temperature for 30 days, followed by experimental challenge with 2.29?×?108 colony forming unit/mL (CFU/mL; LD50 dose) of A. hydrophila. An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of three dietary methionine (Met) sources [dl-Met, coated-Met, and a methionine hydroxy analogue calcium salt (MHA-Ca)] for Chinese soft-shelled turtle (Pelodiscus sinensis). Triplicate groups of juvenile turtles (initial weight 3.48 ± 0.03 g) were fed twice per day at 3% of body weight with positive control diet (T1, 46% protein and 46% fish meal, FM), negative control diet (T2, 43% protein and 23% FM), or three other test diets supplemented with either 0.2% coated-Met (T3), 0.125% MHA-Ca (T4), or 0.1% dl-Met (T5) to the T2 basal formulation, respectively. The feeding trial was conducted in 15 350-L plastic containers with three replicates per dietary treatment. The results showed that the highest and lowest percentage weight gain (1023.5 ± 18.2 versus 882.1 ± 14.5%) and feed efficiency (87.2 ± 0.94 versus 81.4 ± 0.4%) were observed in turtles fed the T1 and T2 diet (P < 0.05), respectively. Significant improvement in weight gain was observed in turtles fed diets with Met supplementation, irrespective of source, compared with turtles fed the T2 diet. It was observed that dietary MHA-Ca had similar efficacy compared with dl-Met in terms of growth performance and feed utilization efficiency of the turtles (P > 0.05). Protein utilization efficiency was significantly higher in turtles fed T4 or T5 diet compared to the T2 diet. Whole body protein content (17.0 to 17.4% on a wet weight basis) in turtles fed with Met-added diets was comparable to those of turtles fed the T1 diet which were significantly higher compared to T2-fed turtles. Antioxidant defense system enzymes, superoxide dismutase, and glutathione peroxidase showed the highest activity, 658.8 ± 17.9 U/mL and 642.8 ± 17.5 μmol/L, respectively, in the serum of turtle fed the MHA-Ca supplemented diet and was significantly higher compared to turtles fed the T2 or T3 diet. The present results showed that P. sinensis are able to effectively use added MHA-Ca and dl-Met in low protein and low FM diets to enhance growth, feed utilization efficiency, nitrogen retention, and antioxidant defense system enzyme activities.  相似文献

To completely replace the fish meal by a mixture of earthworm and maggot meals, experimental diets were tested during 42 days on Clarias gariepinus fingerlings. Five isoproteic and isoenergetic diets (40 % crude protein and 17.9 ± 0.3 kJ g?1) including the control diet (D1) based on fish meal, were formulated. All these diets satisfied the essential amino acids requirements of C. gariepinus fingerlings. These diets were tested on triplicate groups of 50 fishes (initial body weight: 3 ± 0.1 g) bred in tank (0.5 m3). The approximate ratios 2:5; 1:4; 1:12 and 0:1 between the earthworm meal and the maggot meal were used, respectively, to formulate four diets D2, D3, D4 and D5 without fish meal. After the feeding period, significant differences (P < 0.05) were observed on growth, feed utilization between control diet (D1) and test diets (D2–D5). Fish fed earthworm- and maggot-based diets were grown better than those fed the control diet. Survival and feed utilization were not significantly affected by the ratio between earthworm meal and maggot meal in the test diets. Lipid content was higher in carcass and fillet of fishes fed earthworm- and maggot meals-based diets than that of those fed fish meal-based diet. This study indicates that when the ratio 2:5 between the earthworm meal and the maggot meal is used to entirely replace fish meal and the ratio lysine/arginine of the diet is inferior to 1, the growth performances and feed utilization of Clarias gariepinus fingerlings are improved.  相似文献

Four iso-nitrogenous (336 g kg?1) and iso-energetic (20 MJ kg?1) diets containing 0, 100, 200, and 300 g kg?1 FJKM in replacement of 0, 33.3, 66.7, and 100% soybean meal protein, respectively, were prepared and designated as control, T1, T2, and T3, respectively. A total of 180 acclimatized fish (average weight 6.05?±?0.04 g) were equally distributed into four experimental groups in triplicates, and were fed their respective diets to satiation twice daily at 10:00 h and 18:00 h. Higher percent weight gain (%WG); specific growth rate (SGR); protein efficiency ratio (PER); protease, aspartate amino transferase (AST), and alanine amino transferase (ALT) activities; and lower feed conversion ratio (FCR) were recorded in T2 and T3 groups compared to other groups. Whereas hepatosomatic index (HSI), intestinal somatic index (ISI), and amylase, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), malate dehydrogenase (MDH), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and catalase activities among the various dietary groups did not vary significantly (P?>?0.05). Whole body composition of fish analyzed at the end of the feeding trial exhibited significantly (P?<?0.05) higher ether extract and lower crude protein in the control group compared to the FJKM-fed groups. The current study aimed to evaluate the possible effect of Origanum essential oil on innate immune parameters as well as the hematological profiles of Tilapia zillii following challenge with Vibrio anguillarum. Fifty-four of Tilapia zillii weighing 180?±?10.2 g were randomly distributed into three identical closed recirculating seawater systems. The study included three groups (G1, G2, and G3) repeated in triplicates. Fish of the first two groups were fed on a basal diet without herbs, whereas fish of the last group were fed on a basal diet supplemented with Origanum essential oil at concentration 1 g kg?1 for 15 days. Subsequently, fish of G2 and G3 subjected to a peritoneal inflammation by intraperitoneally injecting V. anguillarum (5.5?×?105 CFU mL?1), whereas fish of G1 injected with saline and served as control. Fish of all groups were then sampled at 4, 12, and 24 h post injection. No mortalities were observed in both basal and Origanum fed groups. However, some specimens of fish fed basal diet showed dorsal fin erosions, eroded mouth, and detached skin. Although the kinetics of RBCs, WBCs, Hb, and differential leukocyte values remained unchanged in fish fed different diets at the beginning of the trial, significant increases in those values were observed in fish fed Origanum essential oil at 12 and 24 h post injection. Similarly, an augmentation of plasma proteases, antiproteases, and lysozyme activities were recorded in fish fed Origanum essential oil at the same particular sampling points. A significant enhancement in plasma bactericidal capacity was only recorded in fish fed Origanum essential oil at 12 and 24 h post challenge compared to those fed basal diet. In conclusion, Origanum essential oil had a pronounced influence on the innate immunity and increased the fish resistance to V. anguillarum. These data gave insight into the potential use of Origanum in prophylactic strategies against threatening pathogens.  相似文献

The yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae is one of the commonest probiotics incorporated in aquafeeds. An 84-day feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of varying dietary inclusions of S. cerevisiae, 0% (control), 3% (YF3), 5% (YF5), and 7% (YF7), on growth, stress tolerance, and disease resistance in juvenile (body mass ~?21 g) Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Fish were randomly distributed in groups of 20 into 12 1-m3 hapas and fed isoenergetic (~?17 kJ g?1 gross energy) and isonitrogenous (~?300 g kg?1 crude protein) diets at 3% of their bulk weight daily. Specific growth rates were significantly higher for the yeast-fed fish (0.77–0.78% day?1) than for the control fish (0.60% day?1) and resulted in significantly higher mean final weights for the yeast-treated groups. Protein and lipid retention efficiencies were also significantly higher in the yeast-fed fish than in the control group. In subsequent stress challenge trials, the yeast-fed fish had greater tolerance to acute heat as well as hypoxia exposure than the control fish. Survival rates of the yeast-treated groups following sudden exposure to elevated water temperature (40 °C) ranged from 82.5 to 100% compared to 15% for the control. Mean survival rates following a 24-h hypoxia exposure were also generally significantly higher for the yeast-fed fish. The probiotic groups recorded a relative percent survival (RPS) of 75% after a 14-day Aeromonas hydrophila infection challenge. The results of this study indicate that S. cerevisiae as an additive in Nile tilapia diets has beneficial impacts on growth, stress tolerance, and disease resistance.  相似文献

The present study was conducted to demonstrate the dietary myo-inositol requirement and its effects on the growth, proximate composition and blood chemistry of Amur sturgeon (Acipenser schrenckii). Triplicate groups of 30 fish (initial weight 11.90?±?0.12 g) were fed different diets containing graded levels of myo-inositol (28.75, 127.83, 343.83, 565.81, 738.15 and 936.28 mg kg?1) until satiation for 56 days. The fish were weighed after a 24-h fast, and six fish were used for whole body composition analysis. Further, the liver and muscle were sampled from another six fish for lipid analysis. The blood and liver were sampled from the remaining six fish for haematology and fatty acid analysis. The weight gain of fish increased with myo-inositol content, from the 28.75- to 343.83-mg kg?1 myo-inositol treatment groups, and then stabilised. The liver lipid content and hepatosomatic index decreased significantly from 21.91 to 19.14% and from 3.20 to 2.76% with increased dietary myo-inositol supplementation, respectively. The whole body lipid content generally decreased from 6.33 to 5.55%. The content of liver-saturated fatty acids decreased significantly (28.13%) in the 936.28-mg kg?1 treatment group. The content of plasma non-esterified fatty acids increased with the increase in dietary myo-inositol supplementation from 0.77 to 1.17 mmol L?1, whereas the content of triglycerides significantly decreased from 4.62 to 3.28 mmol L?1. In conclusion, the optimum myo-inositol requirement was found to be 336.1 mg kg?1, based on weight gain in a two-slope quadratic broken-line model.  相似文献

A 12-week feeding trail was conducted to assess the effect of rare earth-chitosan chelate (RECC) on growth performance and immune responses of gibel carp, Carassius auratus gibelio. Isonitrogenous and isolipid experimental diets were supplemented with graded levels of rare earth-chitosan chelate (RECC 0, 0.8, 4 and 8 g Kg?1). A total of 720 gibel carps (initial body weight about 14.32 g) were divided randomly into four groups with six replicates, respectively. Fish were fed with the experimental diets three times every day. At the end of the feeding trail, the survival rate was higher than 96 %. Weight gain rate and specific growth rate (SGR) significantly increased with RECC supplementation up to 0.8 g Kg?1 (P < 0.05) and tended to decline at higher supplementation levels, while feed conversion ratio was not significantly different between groups (P > 0.05). Based on broken-line regression analysis of SGR, the optimum dietary RECC was estimated to be 0.71 g Kg?1 of the diet. Condition factor and viscerosomatic index were not significantly affected by RECC (P > 0.05), while hepatosomatic index in the group fed with 0.8 g Kg?1 RECC (3.45 ± 0.10 %) was significantly lower than in other groups (P < 0.05). Plasma ALT was significantly affected by RECC (P < 0.05), while AST was not. Plasma total protein and albumin were increased with RECC supplementation up to 0.8 g Kg?1 and decreased significantly at higher supplementation levels (P < 0.05). RECC supplementation significantly decreased plasma urea and glucose concentration and increased plasma creatinine concentration significantly (P < 0.05). Respiratory burst activity of phagocytes and myeloperoxidase activity were not significantly different between groups, while superoxide dismutase activity and nitrogen monoxide concentration were increased with the increasing level of RECC in the diets. In conclusion, RECC could enhance growth performance and improve immunity of gibel carp.  相似文献
