Previous studies have shown that the gut microbiota of fish differs depending on host feeding habits and these populations may also be influenced by dietary ingredients. In this study, the bacterial populations of the intestinal tract of the opportunistic omnivore jundiá Rhamdia quelen and the typical omnivore tilapia Oreochromis niloticus were investigated in two experiments. In experiment I, the levels of amylolytic, cellulolytic, lipolytic, proteolytic and total culturable bacteria were compared in the proximal, mid and distal intestine using selective agar. Higher levels of amylolytic, cellulolytic, lipolytic, proteolytic and total culturable bacteria were observed in the tilapia than jundiá, in all intestinal regions. Jundiá contained higher levels of proteolytic bacteria and lipid digesting bacteria in the distal intestinal portion as compared with the mid intestine; both fish species also presented more amylolytic bacteria in the distal intestine. In experiment II, the amylolytic intestinal microbiota between the two species was compared after administration of diets containing different carbohydrate sources. Jundiá fed broken rice presented higher total culturable bacterial levels; however, dietary cassava bagasse and ground corn significantly elevated the population of amylolytic bacteria in tilapia (> 0.05). PCR‐DGGE was also used to assess the bacterial communities in experiment II. A Cetobacterium spp. was detected in jundiá fed diets containing broken rice, and tilapia fed cassava bagasse, dextrin, broken rice and ground corn. Microbial differentiation was further demonstrated between jundiá and tilapia, because an uncultured bacterium was unique in tilapia and an uncultured spirochete was observed only in jundiá; the presence of these bacterial species was also influenced by dietary carbohydrate sources.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to assess the effects of different dietary fibre concentrates (DFC: Mucilage = MG; pectin = PN or β‐glucan+mannan = βg+M), on biochemical parameters, stress and immune response and skin mucus of jundiá (Rhamdia quelen). The fish (7.16 ± 0.06 g) were fed with Control diet (0 g/kg of DFC); diet supplemented with 5 g/kg of commercial prebiotic (CP 5) or diets supplemented with 5 or 10 g/kg of MG; PN or βg+M. After 8 weeks of the feeding trials, biochemical parameters (cholesterol, glucose, albumin and total protein), cortisol, immunoglobulin IgM and mucoproteins of skin mucus were assessed. Results demonstrated that supplementation with PN increased cholesterol levels (p<.05). After application of the stressor, most fish, except those in the PN and 10 g/kg MG groups, showed significant increases (p<.05) in cholesterol, glucose and albumin levels. The jundiás showed no difference in cortisol levels after application of the stressor (p>.05). IgM levels were significantly high in fish supplemented with DFC (p<.05). However, the concentration of mucoproteins in skin mucus was not influenced in the different treatments (p>.05). The results showed that supplementation with DFC promoted beneficial effects on the metabolism of jundiá.  相似文献

This experiment was conducted to study the effects of carbohydrates with different molecular sizes on growth performance, feed utilization and composition, activity of digestive enzymes, plasma and hepatic metabolites of jundiá (Rhamdia quelen). Triplicate groups of jundiá (4.08 ± 0.005 g) were stocked in 12 tanks with stocking density of 25 individuals per tank and fed for 40 days with four isonitrogenous diets (37%) and isocaloric diets (3,200 kcal/kg) containing fructose (FRU), sucrose (SUC), maltodextrin (MALDEX) or corn starch (CS). The results showed no significant differences for growth variables and digestive enzymes. Fish whose diet received maltodextrin showed higher levels of deposited body fat and hepatosomatic index. Moreover, the above‐mentioned treatment resulted in lower concentrations of glucose and cholesterol in the plasma of jundiá, higher levels of triglycerides, and lower reserves of glucose and liver glycogen. However, fish fed the starch‐based diet presented higher moisture content, crude protein deposition, and body protein retention coefficient. In that same treatment, the jundiá presented higher levels of plasma glucose and liver protein. In conclusion, the efficiency of using digestible carbohydrates in iso‐nutritional diets for jundiá depends on the size of their molecular structure. The corn starch was the best dietary carbohydrate source for jundiá, based on feed utilization and composition and greater synchronicity between energy utilization and protein synthesis.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the use of synthetic fibre as a biological support for the adhesion of nitrifying bacteria in an aquaculture recirculation system (RAS). It was developed from three assays over 120 days. In the first assay, the synthetic fibres used as biological support were introduced in tanks of biological filtration of the system for posterior respirometry analysis and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Respirometry and SEM were performed 10 days after inoculation with nitrifying microorganisms. Water quality parameters were monitored daily, and the respirometry showed that the bacteria in this assay were consuming the following amounts of ammonium: concentrations [C1]35.369 mg NH3/L, R2 = 0.9912; [C2]51.628 mg NH3/L, R2 = 0.9883; [C3]79.494 mg NH3/L, R2 = 0.986; and [C4]215.225 mg NH3L, R2 = 0.9934. In the second assay, a 1920-L tank was stocked with 120 Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, with an initial weight 32.11 ± 7.6 g and a biomass of 3.8 kg. After 60 days, the tank and its contents were assessed to evaluate zootechnical parameters and physical–chemical parameters of water quality. From these results, a third assay was developed in which the biomass of fish was increased to challenge the recirculation system. The tank was stocked with 480 jundiá Rhamdia quelen (initial weight 11.34 ± 2.4 g and biomass 5.4 kg) for 60 days. In both the tilapia and jundiá assays, the fish were fed four times per day with a commercial diet of 35% crude protein and 42% crude protein, respectively, at 5% of each individual fish’s body weight. At the end of the zootechnical assays, the synthetic fibres used showed efficient biological support for bacterial growth, as confirmed by scanning electron microscopy. The fibres also demonstrated maintenance of the water quality, which allowed good fish growth in the recirculating aquaculture system, and the maintenance of up to 11.19 kg/m³ of biomass of fish.  相似文献

Essential fatty acids should be included in the diet to ensure adequate fish growth. Despite the great number of studies on fatty acid nutrition of fish, there are still several unknowns. The aim of the present study was to investigate fatty acid nutrition of jundiá, a Latin American freshwater catfish. Four diets were formulated containing (i) coconut oil (?C, negative control), (ii) coconut oil + high‐docosahexaenoic‐acid‐fish oil (+C, positive control) and coconut + sunflower + linseed oils at different ratios, producing either (iii) a diet rich in linoleic acid (LA) (HighLA) or 4) a diet low in LA (LowLA). All diets contained significant amounts of saturated fatty acids (at least 57.5% total fatty acids in HighLA) and monounsaturated fatty acids (at least 19.1% total fatty acids in ?C). Diets were fed to jundiá fingerlings (1.5 g) for 70 days; growth, body composition and liver histology were evaluated. The ?C diet, without essential fatty acids, promoted significantly lower fish growth, body fat accumulation and hepatic lipidosis. Fish fed HighLA and LowLA diets presented similar growth as fish fed +C diet. These findings suggest that diet formulations for jundiá catfish fingerlings can include only plant oils without negative effect on growth, survival, body composition, fish health or parameters of feed utilization (ingestion rate and protein utilization).  相似文献

This study was conducted to investigate the prebiotic effect of different Dietary Fibre Concentrates (DFC) (Mucilage =MG; Pectin = PN or β‐glucan + mannan = βg + M) on growth and somatic parameters, body composition and digestive enzyme activities of jundiá (Rhamdia quelen). After acclimation, fish (7.16 ± 0.06 g) were allocated into 24 tanks (30 fish per tank) and triplicate groups were fed with Control diet (0 g kg?1 of DFC); diet supplemented with 5 g kg?1 commercial prebiotic (CP) or diets supplemented with 5 or 10 g kg?1 diet of MG; PN or βg + M. At the end of the trial (8 weeks), growth was significantly (P < 0.05) higher in fish fed diets supplemented with DFCs and did not differ from animals supplemented with CP. The animals that were fed Control diet presented a body protein content higher compared to those supplemented with diets containing pectin or β‐glucan + mannan (P < 0.05). However, fish fed diets added with β‐glucan + mannan yielded a higher level of protein deposited in the whole body. The activity of digestive enzymes was lower in the group supplemented with Pectin. Results indicate that supplementation with DFCs in the diet had positive effects on the performance of jundiá and are prebiotic potential candidate.  相似文献

The rapid growth of tilapia culture has stimulated the expansion of tilapia feed production and a search for novel protein sources to replace fish meal. Vegetable or plant sources are promising alternatives and legumes are both naturally abundant and high in protein content. A study was carried out to evaluate the effects of replacing the protein from fish meal with peanut ( Arachis hypogaea ) leaf meal (PLM) in diets for male tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus , initial body weight 75.3 g). Four isonitrogenous (35% CP) and isocaloric (18.834 kJ g−1) diets were prepared to include 0% (CON), 10% (PLM10), 20% (PLM20) and 30% (PLM30) of PLM protein. Average fish weights at the end of the 126-day experiment were not statistically different among the fish fed CON, PLM10 and PLM20 diets. The PLM30 diet produced the poorest growth performance. Organic matter and protein contents of fish were similar in the CON, PLM10 and PLM20 diets. Carcass chemical composition showed a decrease in body fat content as PLM replacement levels increased. The high survival ratio in all dietary groups (>97%) suggests that PLM can be used in O. niloticus feeds for long periods without affecting fish growth performance or health.  相似文献

The jundiá (Rhamdia quelen) is a siluriform with great potential for aquaculture in South America. Fish oil is a raw material in diets for fish. However, the fisheries that provide fish oil have reached their limit of sustainability. Thus, the use of alternative sources for this ingredient is primordial. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance and body composition of the jundiá fed with different sources of the vegetable oils. Jundiá (1.0±0.2 g) were fed for 31 days with five isonitrogenous (37%) and isoenergetic (19 kJ g?1) diets, in which the following oils were added: 50 g kg?1 corn oil (CO), 50 g kg?1 fish oil (FO), 50 g kg?1 linseed oil (LO), 33.4 g kg?1 fish oil and 16.7 g kg?1 linseed oil (1/3LO), 16.7 g kg?1 fish oil and 33.4 g kg?1 linseed oil (2/3LO). The performance did not show differences between treatments. The final fatty acid profile and n‐3/n‐6 ratio of the fish were highly influenced by the diet. Fish‐fed diets with linseed and/or fish oil showed superior n‐3/n‐6 ratios to the minimal recommended by the World Health Organization; whereas fish fed diets with corn oil showed an inferior value. Albeit in the present study the commercial size of fish was not attained, these results show a clear tendency. The desaturation/elongation capacity was evidenced, in this species, for the first time. Linseed oil can be utilized as a substitute for fish oil in diets of jundiá without affecting their performance and for producing good‐quality fish. However, more studies are necessary to confirm these results for commercial size.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to assess the effect of increasing inclusion levels (100, 150, 200 and 300 g/kg) of rice bran protein concentrate (RBPC) in jundiá (Rhamdia quelen) diets using growth, body composition, somatic indices and digestive enzyme activity as parameters. Five isoproteic (370.08 ± 0.04 g/kg) and isocaloric (13.38 ± 0.04 MJ/kg) diets were formulated with four replicates per treatment. After acclimation, 500 jundiá juveniles (initial mean weight of 6.28 ± 0.12 g) were distributed into 20 round polyethylene tanks (280 L) (25 fish per tank) coupled to a thermoregulated water recirculating system. The fish were fed experimental diets three times daily (at 9:00, 13:00 and 17:00 hr) to apparent satiation. At the end of the trial (45 days), no significant differences were found in the body chemical composition, somatic indices, and trypsin and chymotrypsin enzymes of the fish fed experimental diets. A lower final weight and a lower condition factor were found in fish fed diets RBPC10 (100 g/kg of RBPC) and RBPC15 (150 g/kg of RBPC). Based on the results of this study, it is clear that the use of RBPC (at high dietary inclusion levels of 200 and 300 g kg?1) is an effective alternative protein source to fishmeal.  相似文献

The present study was designed to determine the optimal dietary lysine requirement for jundiá, Rhamdia quelen, fingerlings. Groups of 17 fish (1.4 ± 0.1 g) were stocked in 120‐L tanks and were fed semipurified diets (33% crude protein [CP] and 3500 kcal metabolizable energy) containing increasing concentrations of lysine (3.0, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, and 6.5% CP). After 119 d, fish weight gain (WG), specific growth rate (SGR), feed intake and feed conversion (FC), apparent net protein utilization (ANPU), body composition (CP, fat, and ash), and vertebral collagen were determined. WG and SGR increased as dietary lysine concentration in protein increased up to 4.5%, reducing at 6.0 and 6.5% lysine. Fish that were fed the lowest lysine concentration presented the worst feed conversion (FC), which improved for fish fed with 4.5% or more lysine. Feed consumption followed the same trend as FC. The highest ANPU was observed in fish fed with 4.5% lysine. Fish fed diets containing 4.5, 5.0, and 5.5% lysine accumulated more body protein (P < 0.05). Collagen vertebral concentration was significantly higher in fish fed with the 4.5% lysine diet. Dietary requirement for lysine was 4.5 or 5.1% depending on the statistical model used for estimation: broken line or polynomial regression, respectively. The requirements for the other essential amino acids were estimated on the basis of the ideal protein concept and were similar to the requirements for other fish species, except for isoleucine, leucine, treonine, and valine, which were higher for jundiá.  相似文献

This study was conducted to characterize the causative agent of streptococcosis in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and control of Streptococcus infection by means of garlic (Allium sativum) supplementation. The morphological, biochemical and polymerase chain reaction amplification confirmed 11 isolates belong to Streptococcus iniae from the infected fish eyes and tissue samples. Random screening of 12 well‐known medicinal plant parts against S. iniae revealed the garlic extract as the most effective herbal recovery against Streptococcus infection. In vivo challenge test with dietary supplementation of garlic powder significantly improved survival rates of fish against S. iniae infections, and modulate the microbial community and cytokine gene expression profiling in the intestine of the experimental tilapia. Among the two garlic supplemented treatments, 1.0 g garlic supplemented diet significantly increased (p < 0.05) the survival rates of tilapia and the gut bacterial operational transitional units abundance for Proteobacteria and Tenericutes, the phyla associated with healthy intestinal flora. The bacterial diversity index also found high with garlic supplemented diets. Significant upregulations of IL‐10 and IL‐17F gene expression in the intestinal tissue were observed with 1.0 g garlic supplemented diet where IL‐8 and IL‐1β expression levels were relatively static. The dietary supplementation of garlic, therefore, could be effective in the prevention of S. iniae infection in fish.  相似文献

This study investigated the effects of dietary inulin and Jerusalem artichoke (JA) on intestinal microbiota and morphometry of Nile tilapia fingerlings. Five treatment diets were designed to supplement inulin at 0 (basal diet), 2.5 and 5.0 g/kg, and JA at 5.0 and 10.0 g/kg. Nile tilapia larvae were fed experimental diets from the first feeding through the fingerling stage (84 days). The cultivation‐dependent technique showed that dietary inulin at 5.0 g/kg and JA (at both levels) increased lactic acid bacteria and Bifidobacterium spp., but decreased Vibrio spp. (p < .05). PCR‐DGGE targeting 16S ribosomal RNA gene revealed that dietary inulin and JA generated different profiles of microbial community compared with fish fed a basal diet. Compared with fish fed the basal diet, a greater intestinal villi height was observed in fish fed 5.0 g/kg inulin and JA at both levels (p < .05). A larger relative goblet cell number were observed in the anterior intestine of fish fed 5.0 g/kg inulin or JA (p < .05). Overall, dietary inulin (5.0 g/kg) and JA (5 and 10.0 g/kg) since the first feeding had effects on modulating the intestinal microbiota and morphology of Nile tilapia fingerlings.  相似文献

摘要:为了探究饲料中不同磷水平对罗非鱼肠道磷和脂肪酸转运及甘油三脂沉积的影响,我们配制了3组不同磷水平的饲料,饲料中磷含量分别为1.21 %(LPD)、1.75 %(MPD)和2.66 %(HPD)),用配制的饲料投喂罗非鱼10周。结果显示:与LPD组相比,HPD组显著增加罗非鱼肠道钠磷协同转运体SLC34A2基因(95.7%)和蛋白(200.1%)的表达,增加肠道组织总磷含量(79.2%);HPD组上调脂肪酸吸收基因cd36、fabp1、fabp2和fatp1及甘油三酯合成基因dgat1的表达(11.2%~54.0%),下调脂肪酸转运基因apob-100的表达(37.7%),增加游离脂肪酸(NEFA)的含量(241.1%)。与LPD组相比,HPD组显著增加罗非鱼肠道组织甘油三酯(TG)的含量(42.9%)。 综上,我们的研究表明,饲料中高磷水平增加肠道组织TG的含量,上调脂肪酸吸收途径和抑制脂肪酸排出途径。我们的研究为深入揭示磷影响鱼类磷代谢及脂类代谢的机理奠定基础。  相似文献

This study was designed to determine the effect of complete substitution of fish meal (FM) by three plant protein sources including extruded soybean meal (SBM), extruded full‐fat soybean (FFSB) and corn gluten meal (CGM) on growth and feed utilization of Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus and tilapia galilae Sarothrodon galilaeus. Four isonitrogenous of crude protein (ca. 28.0%) and isocaloric (ca. 19 MJ kg−1) experimental diets were formulated. The control diet (diet 1) was prepared with FM as the main protein sources. Diets 2–4, each FM control diet, were completely substituted with SBM (diet 2), FFSB (diet 3) and CGM (diet 4). l ‐lysine and dl ‐methionine were added to plant protein diets to cover the nutritional requirements of tilapia. Each treatment was allocated to three net pens and fed for 17 weeks. Nile tilapia fed the control diet showed significantly higher (P≤0.05) values for final body weight (FBW), feed intake (FI), weight gain (WG) and specific growth rate (SGR), whereas fish fed the diet with CGM achieved the lowest values. Tilapia galilae fed SBM diet recorded the highest (P≤0.05) values for growth performance. Better feed conversion ratio (FCR) for both Oreochromis niloticus and Sarothrodon galilaeus was observed when fish were fed SBM diet, whereas the worse FCR was recorded for FFSB diet. Feed utilization parameters including protein productive value (PPV), fat retention (FR) and energy retention (ER) showed significant differences (P≤0.05) for both the species fed different dietary protein sources. The present results suggest that, for Nile tilapia, both SBM and FFSB supplemented with dl ‐methionine and l ‐lysine can completely replace dietary FM. Meanwhile, S. galilaeus fed SBM diet exhibited comparable growth and feed utilization with those fish fed a fish‐meal‐based diet.  相似文献

A study was carried out to examine and optimize the inclusion levels of shrimp hydrolysate (SH) or tilapia hydrolysate (TH) in low fishmeal diets for olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus). A fishmeal (FM)‐based diet was considered as a high FM (HFM) diet, and a diet containing soy protein concentrate (SPC) as a FM replacer at 50% substitution level was regarded as a low FM (LFM) diet. Six other experimental diets were prepared by dietary supplementation of SH or TH to LFM diet at different inclusion levels of 15 g/kg, 30 or 45 g/kg in the expense of FM (designated as SH‐1.5, SH‐3.0, SH‐4.5, TH‐1.5, TH‐3.0 and TH‐4.5, respectively). After 10 weeks of a feeding trial, growth performance and feed utilization efficiency of fish were significantly higher in fish fed HFM, SH‐3.0, SH‐4.5, TH‐1.5 and TH‐3.0 diets compared to those of fish fed LFM diet. Intestine diameter, villus height and goblet cell counts of fish were significantly increased by dietary inclusion of SH or TH into LFM diet. Dry matter and protein digestibility of diets were significantly improved by SH or TH incorporation. Innate immunity of fish was significantly enhanced by dietary SH or TH supplementation into LFM diet. Disease resistance of fish was significantly increased against Edwardsiella tarda by dietary inclusion of SH and TH at the highest inclusion level (45 g/kg). The optimum inclusion level of SH or TH in a SPC‐based LFM diet could be ~30 g/kg and 15–30 g/kg, for olive flounder.  相似文献

The development of chyme characteristics and the in vivo digestion of crude protein (CP) were assessed in response to different dietary sources of non‐protein energy. African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) were fed a starch or fat diet for 28 days, and faecal CP apparent digestibility coefficient (ADC) was determined by a marker method. After the consumption of a single meal, chyme was collected from four compartments of the gastrointestinal tract and viscosity, dry matter (DM), CP and marker concentration were measured. Replacing dietary fat by starch resulted in a lower faecal CP ADC (< 0.05), even though CP originated from the same dietary ingredients. A higher inclusion level of starch led to a higher viscosity of chyme in the stomach, but a lower DM content, compared to the fat diet (< 0.05). Gastric evacuation was delayed in starch fed fish, likely due to the high viscosity of chyme. After evacuation of chyme into the proximal intestine, no significant differences in chyme characteristics were observed between diets (> 0.05). Changes in macronutrient composition can alter the environment in which CP digestion takes place. We suggest that for the formulation of highly digestible diets, the entire feed matrix needs to be considered, rather than single ingredients.  相似文献

Yeasts used as a probiotic in fish diets could stimulate fish resistance against bacterial infection and could enhance the activities of digestive enzymes in fish guts. In addition to yeast importance, dietary protein is another important part in fish diets that should be carefully optimized to meet fish requirement. It is proposed that the yeast supplementation may enhance the dietary protein turnover and reduce the protein requirement for fish. Therefore, the interactive effects of dietary protein and yeast levels on the growth performance of Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (L.) fry and their challenge against Aeromonas hydrophila infection was evaluated. In the present study, ten experimental diets were formulated to contain either 35% or 45% crude protein (CP). For each protein level treatment, bakery yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) was supplemented at 0.0, 0.50, 1.0, 2.0, or 5.0 g/kg diet. Fish (0.25–0.48 g) were distributed at a rate of 25 fish per 140-L aquarium. For each diet, triplicate aquaria were fed twice a day, 5 days a week for 12 weeks. Fish growth and feed utilization were significantly affected by either dietary protein or yeast levels alone, while no significant effect of their interaction was observed. The highest fish growth was obtained at 1.0–5.0 g yeast/kg diet at both protein levels; however, the fish performance at 45% CP was better than that fed on 35% CP diets. The optimum feed conversion ratio (FCR) was obtained when fish fed on 1.0–5.0 and 2.0–5.0 g yeast/kg diet at 35 and 45% CP, respectively. The cumulative fish mortality, after interperitoneal injection with A. hydrophila for 10 days, and bactericidal activity was significantly higher in fish fed 35% CP diets than those fed 45% CP diets. Both variables decreased significantly with the increase in yeast levels. The lowest bacterial count and bactericidal activity were obtained in fish fed 5.0 g yeast/kg diet irrespective to dietary protein levels. It could be concluded that the inclusion of live bakery yeast in practical diets could improve the growth performances, feed utilization, and physiological status of Nile tilapia fry and their challenge against A. hydrophila infection. Moreover, fish performance when fed 45% CP diet was better than those fed 35% CP diet. Based on these results, the most suitable yeast level for maximum Nile tilapia growth was determined to be 2.0 g yeast/kg diet with 45% CP diet; however, this level was recommended to stimulate their productive performance and enhances their resistance against A. hydrophila infection.  相似文献

The apparent digestibility (AD) of dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM), crude protein (CP) and essential amino acids (EAA) in five selected feedstuffs was evaluated in hybrid catfish and Nile tilapia. The AD of DM, OM and CP in cassava leaf meal (CLM) was lower (P < 0.05) than in groundnut meal (GNM), soybean meal (SBM), sesame husk meal (SSH) and shrimp head meal (SHM). The AD of DM, OM and CP among GNM, SBM, SSH and SHM was not different (P > 0.05). The AD of most EAA was higher in SSH (P < 0.05) than in CLM, GNM, SBM and SHM. The AD of most EAA among CLM, GNM, SBM and SHM was not different (P > 0.05). The AD of DM and OM in CLM was higher (P < 0.05) in hybrid catfish than in Nile tilapia, while there was no difference in the AD of CP in CLM between fish species. The AD of DM, OM, CP and EAA among GNM, SBM, SSH and SHM did not differ between hybrid catfish and Nile tilapia. In conclusion, there were only small differences in the nutritional properties between the selected feedstuffs in both fish species. Chloroplastic and cytoplasmic alfalfa (Medicago sativa) leaf protein concentrates were tested as dietary replacements for fish meal in practical diets for tilapia fingerlings. Each concentrate was used to replace 15, 25, 35, 45 and 55% of the fish meal protein in diets containing 40% protein. Diets containing cytoplasmic leaf protein gave the best results, with growth rates higher than those obtained with a fish meal-based diet when the plant protein replaced up to 35% of the fish meal protein in the diet; higher inclusion levels of plant protein depressed growth. No mortalities were recorded during the 9-week test period with any of the experimental diets. It was concluded that the alfalfa leaf protein could be included at levels of up to 35% of the dietary protein in feeds for tilapia.  相似文献

A 8‐week feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the nutritional value of dietary conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) for finishing Nile tilapia evaluating its effects on growth performance, whole body and filet compositions, fatty acid composition, plasma lipid parameters, filet texture, liquid loss and holding capacity. Triplicate groups of Nile tilapia were hand‐fed until apparent satiation on diets in which CLA oil was supplemented at 0 (control), 5 or 10 g kg?1. No differences were observed on weight gain, feed intake, feed/gain ratio, protein efficiency ratio, hepatosomatic index, visceral fat, filet yield and survival between treatments. Fish‐fed CLA diets had increased whole body crude protein and reduced filet lipid content. The total plasma cholesterol and triacylglycerol decreased with CLA supplementation. Neither 5 nor 10 g kg?1 dietary CLA improved liquid‐holding capacity and filet texture when compared with fish fed the control diet. Fish‐fed dietary CLA showed lower whole body and filet C18:3(n‐6), C18:3(n‐3) and C20:2(n‐6) levels and higher levels of C18:0. CLA deposition in filet and whole body (16 mg–235 mg g?1 of tissue) are higher than presented in natural sources of CLA, proving to be a great product to increase CLA consumption by humans.  相似文献
