耿马县兽医管理体制现状及建议

为了摸清云南省耿马傣族佤族自治县(以下简称耿马县)兽医管理体制现状,制订适合耿马县兽医管理体制改革实施方案,促进全县社会主义新农村建设,确保畜牧业持续健康发展和人民生命财产安全,县农业局兽医管理体制改革调研组,采取听汇报、开座谈会、走访、实地察看的方式,对全县兽医管理体制现状进行了调查.现将调查情况总结如下.     

Veterinary management of snake reproduction.

The reptile veterinarian should approach the breeder with a comprehensive plan involving a review of proper husbandry, nutrition, record keeping, and a thorough prebreeding evaluation of the snakes. In addition, an evaluation of the reproductive strategy, assistance with confirming and monitoring gestation, and a review of potential reproductive complications will help to prepare the snake owner for a successful breeding season.     

兽用中药提取物发展与管理研究

深入剖析了兽用中药提取物的作用、定位,研究其发展与管理中存在的问题,为破解“以购代产”难题,维护中兽药健康有序发展,提出广泛建立标准,探索生产、管理新模式,发展配方颗粒,推动兽用中药提取物创新发展。     

肉羊生产日常管理系统的研制

在“现代肉羊生产管理系统”基础上，采用Access和VB6.0建立核心数据库和各种数据接口，为饲料配方、遗传育种分析、羊场管理、决策和疾病诊断等模块提供各种数据支持。所建立的“肉羊生产日常管理系统”在进一步加强功能的同时，内核更简洁、高效，字段更灵活、丰富，查询更快捷、准确，打印更方便、实用，适合于各种规律和生产用途的羊场管理。     

Veterinary hemodialysis: advances in management and technology.

Hemodialysis (HD) is a renal replacement therapy that can enable recovery of patients in acute kidney failure and prolong survival for patients with end-stage kidney failure. HD is also uniquely suited for management of refractory volume overload and removal of certain toxins from the bloodstream. Over the last decade, veterinary experience with HD has deepened and refined and its geographic availability has increased. As awareness of the usefulness and availability of dialytic therapy increases among veterinarians and pet owners and the number of veterinary dialysis facilities increases, dialytic management will become the standard of advanced care for animals with severe intractable uremia.     

Veterinary practice management education in the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges member colleges during 1999

Most veterinary students enrolled at AAVMC member institutions take at least 1 VPM course prior to graduation. These courses are characterized by widespread involvement of outside lecturers with business expertise, which likely adds to their strength. However, it remains that wide variation in VPM education exists across the AAVMC with regard to the topics addressed, the specific business expertise of faculty and administrative course specifics. As such, the situation provides several key opportunities. Foremost among these is the immediate need for profession-wide discourse on VPM education to define reasonable expectations with regard to the business skills of veterinary graduates. In addition, outcomes assessment would provide information on which of the widely varying approaches to VPM education is most likely to produce successful graduates. The opportunity also exists for development of academic research programs to support VPM education directly by strengthening the related disciplinary knowledge base. Effective leadership for these efforts will be crucial to their success.     

规模化种猪场兽医卫生保健管理程序

随着改革开放以来，我国的养猪业取得了突飞猛进的发展，集约化养猪迅速兴起，根据当前国内规模化猪场所实行的五段式管理模式和防重于治的方针，学习国外先进经验，汲取了当代先进的科学技术成果，确实提高了养猪的水平和经济效益。但仍有一些猪场在兽医防疫方面沿用分散的、传统的兽陕防疫技术。针对目前养猪业仔在的疫病多兀化，复杂化，势必不能防御一些重大疫病的侵袭，结果导致亏损或破产。     

Veterinary dairy herd health management in Europe: constraints and perspectives

The nature of veterinary work in dairy health management in Europe has changed over the past years and will change even more dramatically in the near future. The consumers and the media show increasing concern about animal welfare, safety of products of animal origin and traceability of animal products. Farmers in Europe have to produce under strict, often expensive and laborious regulations, while still commercially competing with farmers outside the EU and not subject to the same rules. Veterinarians should adapt their knowledge and skills to the new challenges and developments of the dairy sector. Dairy farmers nowadays ask for support in areas that go beyond clinical activities: environmental protection, welfare, nutrition, grassland management, economics and business management. Bovine practitioners should be able to advise in many different areas and subjects--that is the challenge to our profession. Veterinary education with regards to cattle health management should start with individual animal clinical work, which constitutes the basis of herd health advisory programmes. The bovine practitioner should then look beyond that and regard the herd as the unit. Each diseased cow or group of cows should be detected early enough to avoid financial losses or such losses should be prevented altogether by detecting and managing risk factors contributing to disease occurrence. Herd health and production management programmes represent the first level to optimise dairy farm performance. Expansions to that should further be considered, comprising both animal health and welfare issues, as well as food safety and public health issues. The latter could be addressed by quality risk management programmes following the HACCP-principles. Cattle veterinarians should follow recent developments and invest in new skills and knowledge in order to maintain their usefulness to the modern dairy farmer. Finally we are convinced that the cattle practitioner should evolve into this direction, otherwise the veterinarian as we know him will miss the train in the next years.     

Veterinary practice management: teaching needs as viewed by consultants and teachers

A study was conducted to assess veterinary practice management (VPM) educational and research needs from the perspective of consultants and teachers. An online focus group discussion was designed, involving two separate groups (consultants and teachers). One week was allocated to each group, with five to eight questions posed per day. Pseudonyms were used to provide confidentiality. Teachers were selected by inviting the primary VPM course coordinator at each AAVMC school. Consultants required at least two recommendations and were selected in a stratified, non-random manner to achieve both geographic and disciplinary diversity. Participation was stronger within the consultant group: 98 pages of data were generated by the consultants and 35 pages by teachers. Participants agreed that the sub-optimal economic conditions that characterize the veterinary profession are reflective of relatively low-level management skills. This situation establishes the need to strengthen VPM educational and research programs. Many specific suggestions were provided. It was recommended that a cooperative effort between academia and the private sector be employed. However, participants recognized that successful DVM education programs in VPM will be difficult to achieve and sustain without strong support from college administrators and faculties.
