Penaeid shrimp reared in eutrophic pond water grow significantly faster than shrimp in clear well water, and this growth enhancement is especially pronounced in postlarval shrimp. The objective of this study was to determine if the nutritional benefits of pond water could supplement a lower protein feed for postlarval Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei . Sixteen 230-L tanks were stocked with 10-d postlarvae at a density of 350 shrimp/tank. Four treatments (four replicates/treatment) were tested for 6 wk and consisted of: 1) shrimp grown in well water and fed a commercially available 45%-protein feed (W/45); 2) shrimp grown in pond water and fed the same 45%-protein feed (P/45); 3) shrimp grown in well water and fed a commercially available 52%-protein feed (W/ 52); and 4) shrimp grown in pond water and fed the same 52%-protein feed (P/52). At the end of the experiment. mean weight gain (± SE) for shrimp in pond water (1.85 ± 0.03 g) was significantly greater ( P > 0.0001) than shrimp in well water (0.98 ± 0.10 g). Mean weight gain for shrimp fed the 52%-protein feed (1.56 ± 0.13 g) was significantly greater ( P > 0.0001) than shrimp fed the 45%-protein feed (1.26 ± 0.20 g). In addition, there was a significant interaction effect between water source and feed ( P > 0.0001). Mean weight gain for shrimp in the W/52 treatment (1.23 ± 0.04 g) was 68% greater than shrimp in the W/45 treatment (0.73 ± 0.03 g). However, mean weight gain for shrimp in the P/52 treatment (1.90 ± 0.03 g) was only 5% greater than shrimp in the P/45 treatment (1.80 ± 0.04 g). These results suggest that organically rich pond water provides postlarval shrimp with sufficient nutrients to compensate for nutritional deficiencies associated with a lower protein feed. 相似文献

Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, are sexually dimorphic for growth, where subadult and adult females typically are larger than males of the same age. This character may be attributed to physiological and/or behavioral differences between the sexes. To determine if growth differences are the result of a more aggressive feeding behavior by females, four concurrent feeding trials were conducted to study the effects of gender and size on feed acquisition time. Feeding trials consisted of tanks (three replicate tanks per trial) stocked with (1) all females with small‐ and large‐size groups, (2) all males with small‐ and large‐size groups, (3) a random selection of males and females (resulting in larger females than males), and (4) males and females of equal size. Depending on the trial, tanks were stocked with either an equal number of males and females or small and large shrimp. Shrimp were fed a limited ration of squid, and the total feeding time (TFT) of shrimp between groups within a tank was compared. Results show that both gender and size are important factors in TFT as large shrimp out‐competed small shrimp in both all‐female and all‐male feeding trials. Gender is more important than size as males out‐competed females for feed even when they were smaller than competing females. These results suggest that sexual growth dimorphism is not the result of more aggressive feeding by females. In fact, males have a competitive advantage over females in acquiring feed. These results are counterintuitive because females typically are larger than males. Additional research is needed to investigate the physiological basis for sexual growth dimorphism in this commercially important shrimp. 相似文献

The use of the same water over multiple culture cycles in a biofloc technology system can be highly beneficial. This study evaluated the effect of different levels of biofloc‐rich water on selected water quality indicators and on the productive performance of Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, juveniles (3.5 g) stocked at 312 juveniles/m3 and cultured under conditions of no water exchange. The study was performed over a 30‐d period in an 800‐L tank system. A total of four biofloc enrichment levels (25, 50, 75, and 100%) and control (0%) were tested with three replicates each. Significant differences in nitrogen compounds were found between the biofloc‐enriched water and the zero‐enrichment treatment. No statistically significant differences among the biofloc‐enriched treatments were found in survival, final weight (8.25 g), and feed conversion ratio (FCR) (1.08). The shrimp raised in clear seawater (i.e., a 0% biofloc enrichment) were significantly smaller (7.37 g vs. 8.25 g) and showed a higher FCR (1.52 vs. 1.08) than the shrimp cultured in the biofloc‐rich water. Nevertheless, no differences in yields were found between treatments. The results of this study suggest that culture in biofloc‐enriched water produces higher levels of water quality and shrimp performance than culture in natural seawater. 相似文献

应用溶藻弧菌疫苗注射南美白对虾,测定了弧菌疫苗对南美白对虾免疫指标的影响以及疫苗的免疫保护作用。结果表明,注射溶藻弧菌疫苗后,血清凝集效价增强,24 h时活力达到最高值,尤其是1.08×108cell/ml组的凝集效价升高最明显,为对照组的6.0倍;在24 h时,3个试验组的凝集效价均明显高于对照组(P<0.05)。溶菌活力注射后6 h即达到最高值,1.08×107、1.08×108cell/ml组的溶菌活力明显高于对照组(P<0.05)。抗菌活力在注射后3 h时最高,明显高于对照组。溶血活力在注射疫苗后有所增强,注射后6 h时1.08×106、1.08×107cell/ml组的活力达到最高,而1.08×108cell/ml组12 h时活力达到峰值。注射疫苗对血清超氧化物歧化酶活力基本没有影响。1.08×106、1.08×107、1.08×108cell/ml对南美白对虾的免疫保护率分别为46.3%、61.0%和75.6%。 相似文献

以淡化虾塘水添加天然盐碱水为试验用水驯化南美白对虾幼虾,探讨东北地区碳酸盐类盐碱水养殖对虾的技术。结果表明,每隔36、24、12 h各提高1次碱度2 mmol/L,经过12 d,幼虾从碱度3.17 mmol/L分别驯化至17.25、25.33、38.78 mmol/L的存活率为37%、44%及24%。通过驯化提高了幼虾对盐碱水环境一系列生态因子的综合适应能力,其生存环境由海水类型逐渐适应于内陆碳酸盐类盐碱水,是东北地区碳酸盐类盐碱水养殖对虾的有效措施。 相似文献

通过白斑综合症病毒(WSSV)感染得到携带WSSV病毒的凡纳滨对虾,它们由0.05 mg/L氨氮水体进入不同氨氮浓度水体,在7 d内,1.75 mg/L,2.25 mg/L,3.00 mg/L氨氮水体内个体发生病毒病,并产生死亡。在14 d内,0.75 mg/L氨氮以及大于这一浓度水体内个体发生病毒病,并产生死亡,其中3.00 mg/L氨氮水体内死亡100%,2.25 mg/L氨氮水体内死亡80%,1.75 mg/L水体内死亡60%。在0.35 mg/L氨氮水体,7-14 d内对虾开始发病,没产生死亡。发病个体血细胞数量下降迅速,血清酚氧化酶先增高再迅速下降,其中3 mg/L氨氮水体中的携带病毒对虾只有下降。同时氨氮浓度越大,携带病毒凡纳滨对虾血清过氧化氢酶活力下降越快,越多。 相似文献

为研究亚硝态氮(NO2–-N)慢性胁迫对凡纳滨对虾(Litopenaeus vannamei)[(2.03±0.33) g]生长、摄食、体成分和糖代谢的影响,实验设置0 (对照组)、8 (N8组)、15 (N15组)和30 mg/L (N30组) NO2–-N浓度组,进行36 d的NO2–-N慢性胁迫实验。结果显示,随着NO2–-N浓度升高,对虾的终末体重、特定生长率、增重率和日摄食率均呈显著下降趋势。N8组和N15组对虾的血糖和肝胰腺中糖原含量在实验中期高于对照组,但最终均低于对照组,而肌肉中糖原含量在实验期间始终低于对照组。胁迫组凡纳滨对虾肌肉中的己糖激酶活力低于对照组;而肝胰腺己糖激酶活力和丙酮酸激酶活力均高于对照组,同时,肝胰腺乳酸含量与乳酸脱氢酶活力呈先上升后下降的趋势,最终与对照组相比无显著差异。终末体成分中,N30组的粗脂肪含量显著低于对照组。结果表明,NO2–-N慢性胁迫会降低对虾食欲,减缓凡纳滨对虾的生长,机体糖代谢调节可作为对虾应对NO2–-N慢性胁迫的短期响应,对虾对脂质的利用在应对NO2–-N慢性胁迫过程中起重要作用。 相似文献

In animal breeding programs, selection coupled with a narrow genetic base can cause high levels of inbreeding to occur rapidly (in one or two generations). Although the effects of inbreeding have been studied extensively in terrestrial animals and to a lesser extent in aquaculture species, little is known about the effects of inbreeding on penaeid shrimp. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of inbreeding on hatchery and growout performance of the Pacific white shrimp, Penaeus vannamei. The experiment was conducted over 2 yr, and data from two successive generations (G2 and G3) of inbred (sibling–sibling mating) and outbred families were analyzed. There were 11 inbred and 12 outbred families in G2 and 9 inbred and 10 outbred families in G3. Inbreeding coefficients (F) for outbred and inbred families were 0.00 and 0.25, respectively, for G2 and 0.00 and 0.375, respectively, for G3. Growth rates for outbreds and inbreds were similar in both G2 and G3. Hatch rate for inbred families was 33.1% lower than for outbred families in G2 and 47.1% lower in G3. Inbreeding depression (IBD) (relative change in phenotype per 0.1 increase in F) ± 95% CI for hatch rate was ?12.3 ± 10.1%. Hatchery survival for inbred families was 31.4% lower than for outbred families in G2 and 38.8% lower in G3. IBD for hatchery survival was ?11.0 ± 5.7%. Growout survival was 1.9% lower for inbred families than for outbred families in G2 and 19.6% lower in G3. IBD for growout survival was ?3.8 ± 2.9%. There was also a significant linear relationship between IBD estimates for survival traits and mean outbred survival. At high outbred survival, IBD was low (e.g., growout survival in G2), but IBD appeared to become more severe when outbred survival was lower. This suggests that stress (related to environment and/or life stage) may worsen IBD for survival traits. Results also indicate that moderate to high levels of inbreeding (>10%) should be avoided in commercial shrimp hatcheries because the cumulative effect of IBD on hatch rate and hatchery survival will significantly reduce postlarvae production. Thus, IBD can be significant enough to justify the use of inbreeding as a germplasm protection strategy (under certain scenarios) for genetic improvement programs. 相似文献

以类芽孢杆菌和双歧杆菌为益生菌,添加到凡纳滨对虾(平均体质量3.45g)的饲料中,饲养28d(水温25~27℃,盐度25~26,pH 7.8~8.1,溶解氧6mg/L),采用南京建成试剂盒和变性梯度凝胶电泳技术,研究益生菌对凡纳滨对虾免疫功能及肠道菌群的影响。结果表明,益生菌能够显著提高对虾血清过氧化物酶(对照组43.22U/mL,试验组76.33U/mL)、超氧化物歧化酶(对照组60.61U/mL,试验组101.18U/mL)、一氧化氮合酶(对照组7.54U/mL,试验组12.44U/mL)、酸性磷酸酶(对照组0.0446U/mL,试验组0.0574U/mL)和碱性磷酸酶(对照组0.0183U/mL,试验组0.0236U/mL)的活性(P0.01),明显改善对虾肠道的菌群组成,从而提高对虾抵抗疾病的能力。 相似文献

A growth trial and a digestibility trial were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of carbohydrase supplemented to practical shrimp feeds. The 5‐wk growth trial investigated the effects of carbohydrase supplementation at 0, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04, and 0.05% in soybean‐based diets on the performance of juvenile Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei. No significant differences were observed in final biomass, final mean weight, weight gain, feed conversion ratio, and survival across all treatments. The digestibility trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of carbohydrase supplementation at 0.02%, which is the recommended dose by the company that developed the carbohydrase on apparent digestibility coefficients of dry matter, protein, and energy of Pacific white shrimp. Protein digestibility was significantly improved when fed diets contained 0.02% carbohydrase in contrast with the basal diet. No significant differences were found in apparent digestibility coefficients of dry matter and energy. Based on the positive results on protein digestibility, further research regarding the efficacy of exogenous enzymes and their application is warranted. 相似文献

Abstract.— To examine the need for supplemental dietary methionine and to determine the ability of different methionine sources to meet this need for Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, a growth trial was conducted. A control diet (30% crude protein) was formulated to be deficient in methionine by inclusion of high levels of dehulled, solvent‐extracted soybean meal and with no fish meal (methionine level was 0.45% of diet as fed, 1.5% of total amino acids). Three test diets were manufactured based on the control diet but supplemented with l ‐methionine, dl ‐methionine, or an analog of methionine (2‐hydroxy‐4‐methylthio butanoic acid [HMTBA], calcium salt) at the level of 0.5% as fed (equivalent to 1.5% of total amino acids). Cystine was constant among these diets at 0.5% of diet as fed. A commercial feed (30% crude protein) was included as a reference. The culture vessels were flat‐bottomed, cylindrical, black fiberglass tanks (1.5‐m diameter) initially filled with 1000 L seawater and supplied with aeration and seawater from a well at a rate of 2 L/min. At the end of the trial, all surviving shrimp were counted and weighed. The trial was run outdoors, with a mean water temperature of 25.9 C. The mean survival, final weight, growth rate, and feed efficiency of shrimp in the control group were 95.9%, 10.8 g, 0.93 g/wk, and 0.44 g/g, respectively. The mean values of all the test treatments were 96.9%, 11.6 g, 1.00 g/wk, and 0.47 g/g, respectively. The final weight and growth rate of shrimp fed the control diet were significantly lower than those of shrimp fed the methionine‐supplemented diets, indicating that this species has a requirement for dietary methionine. There were no significant differences (P > 0.05) in any of the parameters among the test treatments, indicating that l ‐methionine, dl ‐methionine, and HMTBA can be used to meet the methionine requirement of this species under these experimental conditions. It is concluded that the three sources of methionine examined in this trial, l ‐methionine, dl ‐methionine, and HMTBA, are similar in their ability to meet the methionine requirement of this species. 相似文献

采用Tris-HCl缓冲液抽提、Sephadex G-100凝胶过滤层析、DEAE-Sepharose F.F.阴离子交换层析和SDS-PAGE等方法,分离和纯化了凡纳滨对虾蛋白酶,研究了其生化特性.试验结果表明,该蛋白酶粗提物经层析后,得到聚丙烯酰胺凝胶电泳纯的一酶组分.该蛋白酶的比活力从128.35 U/mg增至1835.65 U/mg,提高了14.3倍,产率达31.9%.SDS-PAGE显示该蛋白酶只含一条谱带,相对分子量为25 kD.以酪蛋白为底物,该酶的最适pH为7.0,最适温度为60 ℃, 在50 ℃以下,比较稳定,放置1 h后活性仍超过60%,而超过50 ℃时蛋白酶活性急剧下降,60 ℃放置1 h后,酶活性只残留4.7%.10 mmol/L EDTA、Fe~(2+)、Ba~(2+)和Zn~(2+)对该蛋白酶有较强的抑制作用,抑制率分别为84%、53%、43%和38%,10 mmol/L Mg~(2+)和Cu~(2+)对蛋白酶活性有轻微抑制作用,而10 mmol/L Ca2+能显著促进蛋白酶活性,据此推测凡纳滨对虾蛋白酶可能为一种金属蛋白酶. 相似文献
