An experiment with 36 growing pigs of Danish Landrace was performed to study the influence of crude (animal) fat on the digestibility of crude fat and on the efficiency of utilization of metabolizable energy.The pigs (females from 3 litters and male castrates from 3 litters) were distributed on six dietary treatments on a within-litter basis, taking into account the live weight of the pigs. The daily intake of the different diets was regulated in such a way that the daily gain in the different treatment groups was almost identical throughout the entire experimental period from 20–90 kg.Three digestibility and balance experiments were performed with each pig, and at approximately 90 kg live weight the pigs were killed, dissected, ground, mixed and chemically analysed. The digestibility of crude fat increased with increasing concentration of dietary fat and the efficiency of utilization of metabolizable energy was increased by 5.0 kJ g?1 digestible crude fat.Digestibility experiments with ileo-caecal cannulated pigs showed that the proportion of the digested crude fat and fatty acids disappearing in the caecum—colon decreased with increasing concentration of dietary crude fat, which results in a positive contribution of digestible crude fat to net energy besides its contribution to metabolizable energy.  相似文献

Eighteen Chinese Holstein heifers average age 230 ± 14 days were allocated to 1 of 3 dietary crude protein (CP) to metabolizable energy (ME) ratios to examine the effects on growth performance, blood metabolites and rumen fermentation parameters with 90‐days experiment. Three different dietary CP:ME ratios were targeted based on the formulation of dietary CP contents of 10.85%, 12.78% and 14.63% on dry matter (DM) basis with similar ME contents (10.42 MJ/kg DM), which were categorized as low, medium and high dietary CP:ME ratios. The actual CP:ME ratios obtained in this study significantly increased from low to high CP:ME ratio groups with a value of 10.59, 11.83 and 13.38 g/MJ respectively. Elevated CP:ME ratios significantly increased CP intake (kg/day) and feed efficiency (FE) which was defined as dry matter intake as a proportion of average daily gain (ADG), whereas little difference was observed in body weight (kg), ADG (kg/day), DM intake (kg/day) and ME intake (MJ/day) among the three different CP:ME ratio groups. Increasing dietary CP to ME ratios significantly increased CP digestibility, whereas digestibility of DM and gross energy remained constant in the current experiment. Blood urea nitrogen and insulin‐like growth factor‐1 linearly increased with increasing dietary CP:ME ratios. There was significantly dietary treatment effect on rumen fermentation parameters including acetate, propionate, butyrate and total volatile fatty acids. Therefore, this study indicated that increasing dietary CP levels with similar energy content contributed to increased protein intake and its digestibility, as well as FE. Holstein heifers between 200 and 341 kg subjected to 13.38 dietary CP:ME ratio showed improved feed efficiency, nutrient digestibility, some blood metabolites and rumen fermentation characteristics for 0.90 kg/day rate of gain.  相似文献

The energy loss in urine increased by 4.9 kJ and the efficiency of utilization of metabolizable energy was decreased by approximately 6.6 kJ/g of catabolized protein.Digestibility experiments with ileo-caecal cannulated pigs indicated that the proportion of the digested energy disappearing in the caecum-colon increased with increasing dietary concentration of crude protein.  相似文献

An attempt was made to quantify the effect of extra fat intake on fibre utilization in horses. In a 4 x 4 cross-over trial with feeding periods of 24 days each, eight mature trotting horses (age 4 to 12 years, 407 to 531 kg BW) were given four diets. The concentrates were formulated to contain either soybean oil or an iso-energetic amount of glucose or combinations of the two ingredients. The concentrates were fed in combination with the same amount of hay so that the whole diets contained 30, 50, 77 or 108 g EE/kg DM. Apart from the amounts of fat and glucose the four diets were identical. With an increase of 10 g/kg DM of soybean oil the apparent total tract digestibility of crude fibre was reduced with 0.9 percentage units. Extra fat intake also reduced apparent protein and NFE digestibility, but raised apparent fat digestibility. Although the present results may hold specifically for the conditions of this study, it is suggested that the observed interaction between fat content of the diet and macronutrient utilization might have consequences for practical horse feeding in that calculating the energy content of high-fat diets on the basis of feedstuff tables will lead to over- or underestimating the amount of energy provided by the various ingredients of the diets.  相似文献

Fifty-eight purebred castrated male Iberian (IB) piglets (initial BW 9.9 ± 0.1 kg) were used in an experiment to determine the effect of dietary protein content (PC) and feeding level (FL) on the rates of BW gain, whole body protein deposition (PD), and energy utilization between 10 and 25 kg of BW using the serial slaughter method. Treatments followed a 4 × 2 factorial arrangement with 4 PC (201, 176, 149, and 123 g of CP/kg of DM) and 2 FL (0.95 and 0.70 × ad libitum) and 6 or 7 piglets per combination of treatments. All diets were formulated to have an optimal AA pattern. Six piglets were slaughtered at the start of the trial to estimate initial body composition. The experimental pigs were individually housed in an environmentally controlled room (27 ± 2°C) until they reached 25 kg of BW, when they were slaughtered and analyzed for body composition. Positive linear effects of dietary PC on ADG, G:F, and gain:ME intake were observed (P < 0.001). Piglets fed at the highest FL showed greater ADG, G:F, and gain:ME intake (P < 0.001). An average increase was estimated to be 38.0 g of gain/MJ of ME intake. Protein deposition increased linearly from 35.6 to 50.9 g/d with increasing dietary PC (P < 0.001). A daily increase was estimated to be 0.35 g of PD/g of CP intake. Although the maximal genetic potential for PD of the IB piglet was not attained, a maximal value of 59.9 g/d for whole-body PD was achieved when the diet provided 201 g of CP/kg of DM and was fed at 0.95 × ad libitum. Piglets on the highest FL deposited on average 39% more body protein (P < 0.001) than restricted piglets. An average value of 4.39 g increase in PD/MJ of ME intake was obtained for diets containing 201 and 176 g of CP/kg of DM. Maintenance energy requirements and net efficiency of utilization of ME for growth, calculated by linear regression of ME intake on body retained energy, were 427 kJ/kg of BW(0.75)·d(-1) and 0.552, respectively. The corresponding partial efficiencies of utilization of ME for protein and fat deposition were 0.378 and 0.672, respectively, considerably less than the accepted values for conventional pig breeds. 1. Female broiler fowl between 21 and 42 d of age were given diets with apparent metabolisable energy (AME) contents ranging from 8 to 15 MJ/kg at each of two crude protein (nitrogen x 6.25; CP) contents (130 and 210 g/kg).

2. Food intake was measured daily for 21 d. Body composition was determined at 42 d and gains in body mass, protein, fat and gross energy calculated by comparison with a group analysed at 21 d. Heat production was calculated by difference between AME intake and energy gain.

3. Decrease of food mass intake with increased dietary AME concentration limited the increase in AME intake to about 25%, despite the near 2‐fold range of AME concentrations.

4. There was no effect of CP concentration on food mass intake. CP intake was directly related to CP: AME ratio.

5. When body weight differences were taken into account, heat production was independent of dietary AME concentration, but increased by about 8% on the higher‐protein diets.

6. There were strong linear correlations between dietary CP:AME ratio and carcase protein: energy ratio, carcase fat content and carcase protein content.

7. It was concluded that the growing fowl responded to dietary nutrient: energy ratio, and the associated differences in nutrient and energy intakes, by varying the rate of energy deposition as fat, without regulatory variation of energy dissipation as heat.  相似文献

Experiments with 80 growing pigs of Danish Landrace were performed to study factors influencing the net energy value of balanced diets and to develop an energetic feed evaluation system for pigs.Although balanced with regard to essential nutrients, the cereal based diets varied widely in chemical composition and accounted for 90% of the variation in the chemical composition of the diets used in practice. The pigs were distributed on dietary treatments on a within-litter basis taking sex and weight into account. The experimental period lasted from 20–90 kg live weight. The daily intake of the different diets was regulated in such a way that the daily gain in the different treatments was almost identical through the entire experimental period.Six digestibility and balance experiments were performed with each pig; at approximately 90 kg live weight the pigs were killed, dissected, ground, mixed and then chemically analysed. The diet composition had a highly significant influence on digestibility, metabolizability and efficiency of utilization of metabolizable energy. Energy concentration (ME/kg DM) accounted for 90% of the variation in the net energy value of metabolizable energy. This result was adopted as a basis for the official energy evaluation in Denmark in 1976, and the net energy content of diets and feedstuffs is calculated from the equation Net energy (MJkg DM) = ?1.88 + 0.75 × ME (MJkg DM)The net energy value of 1 kg common barley, i.e., 7.72 MJ is defined as a feed unit for pigs. We evaluated the effects of replacement of heading stage harvested timothy silage with early‐harvested orchardgrass–perennial ryegrass mixed (OP) silage while maintaining or reducing concentrate input on dry matter intake (DMI), milk production, nutrient digestibility, and N balance in dairy cows. Nine multiparous Holstein cows were used in a replicated 3 × 3 Latin square design with three dietary treatments: TYL, a diet containing timothy silage where forage‐to‐concentrate ratio (FC) was 50:50; OPL, a diet containing OP silage where FC ratio was 50:50; and OPH, a diet containing OP silage where FC ratio was 60:40. We observed that an equal replacement of timothy with OP silage increased DMI, milk yield, milk protein production, and nutrient digestibility but decreased milk fat content (TYL versus OPL). We observed that replacing timothy with OP silage while reducing concentrate input increased milk fat and protein yield, nutrient digestibility, and feed efficiency and reduced urinary N loss with no effect on DMI or milk fat content (TYL versus OPH). These results show that replacing timothy with OP silage can be a good approach to improve milk production, feed efficiency, and N utilization and reduce concentrate input. However, milk fat depression should be considered when an equal substitution is performed.  相似文献

The chemical composition, digestibility and energy value of eight animal and vegetable fat batches was determined (animal fat, soya oil, palm oil, palm oil, palm oil mix and vegetable oil byproduct). To a basal diet, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30% dietary fat was added, and digestibility and balance experiments with each fat batch were carried out with three litters of six female pigs, weighing 50-75 kg. The digestibility was determined by multiple regression analysis. The content of HCl-extracted fat and the amount of gross energy was nearly equal for all the fat sources and as such not related to the variation in fatty acid composition or digestibility. Inclusion of soya oil, which is high in polyunsaturated fatty acids, enhanced protein digestibility, whereas inclusion of the other fat sources did not influence protein digestibility. A curvilinear function of fat digestibility (% of intake) to dietary fat concentration was found, thus reflecting the significance of the endogenous fat losses on the determined digestibility value. A complete two by two by four factorial design was used to examine the main effects of dietary fat type (10% soya oil or 10% beef tallow), xylanase supplementation (with or without Avizyme 1300 at 1 g/kg diet) and pentosan level (7.7 g/kg, 11.0 g/kg, 14.3 g/kg and 17.6 g/kg soluble pentosans, respectively, by varying wheat/rye proportions) as well as their interactions on intestinal chyme conditions, nutrient digestibility and nutrient utilization in male broilers. Nutrient digestibilities for the total digestive tract and at various sites of small intestine were measured during the period from day 18 to 20 of age and at day 21 of age, respectively, using a marker technique. Jejunal and ileal supernatant viscosity increased in an exponential manner as dietary pentosan concentration was increased. This increase was more pronounced in tallow fed birds but was also found in enzyme treated groups albeit at a much lower level. Xylanase activity was still detectable in the ileum of birds fed enzyme supplemented diets but its activity was found to decrease as dietary pentosan content increased. Digestibility of crude protein and that of some amino acids at the terminal ileum was decreased as dietary pentosan content was increased and significantly improved by xylanase addition. No fat effect and no interactions were detected at this site. In contrast, measurements made over the whole gastrointestinal tract showed significantly lower protein and amino acid digestibility values for tallow fed birds, and significant higher enzyme effects especially in diets with higher pentosan concentrations. Nitrogen-corrected apparent metabolizable energy (AMEN) content and net protein utilization decreased with increasing dietary pentosan content and were significantly improved by xylanase addition and were lower in tallow fed birds. The objective of this study was to determine whether nutrient digestibility and production performance of growing-furring blue foxes (Alopex lagopus) are affected by different dietary fat levels. Sixty-four young animals were randomly assigned to four groups (A, B, C, D) provided with diets containing approximately 12%, 26%, 40%, 54% fat in the dry matter respectively. When dietary fat level was increased, the apparent digestibility of main nutrients except for crude carbohydrates, and gross energy were improved (p < 0.0001). The amount of nitrogen excreted was reduced and the biological value of protein was enhanced (p < 0.0001). Over the experimental phase, the efficiency of metabolizable energy (ME) used for gain in group B (26% fat content) was higher than that in other groups. When diets with 12-26% fat content were fed, there was an increasing tendency in skin size. But it had negative effects on skin size and fur quality when the amount of fat content was over 40%. In conclusion, the experiment showed that dietary fat could significantly improve some nutrient utilization and significantly reduce feed/gain ratio as a main energy source. The most preferable fur quality and efficiency of ME used for gain were obtained when diet contained 26% fat level in growing-furring period.  相似文献

Utilization of starch for fat deposition in humans was investigated by means of the nitrogen-carbon-balance method in a respiration chamber using the difference principle with a basal and a supplemental period. The basal diet was designed to maintain an adequate energy balance of the volunteer and to meet the maintenance requirements of protein, minerals and vitamins. The dietary fat content was minimized to 2.7% of DM. The digestibility of starch energy was determined to be 97%. The estimated efficiency of ME utilization of starch for energy deposition in humans amounted to 75.8%, which was in accordance with former results in pigs and rats. This suggests that in case of an intake of diets rich in carbohydrates and low in fat the utilization of carbohydrates for lipogenesis in humans is similar to that in monogastric mammal animals.  相似文献

This study was undertaken to provide information on the effect of two levels of dietary fibre (DF) [184 vs. 407 g DF kg-1 dry matter (DM)] on the digestibility of nutrients and energy metabolism in pregnant sows during different stages of pregnancy. The amount of DF in the high-fibre diet was supplied by dried sugar beet pulp (20%) and oats, wheat bran and grass pellets. The intake of metabolizable energy (ME) was similar for both the low-fibre and the highfibre diet, with an average daily intake of 30.74 MJ. Digestibility of DM, organic matter, protein, fat and energy was significantly decreased by a high DF level, but no effect of the diets was observed on the stage of pregnancy. A high fibre level significantly increased the digestibility of DF, indicating that fibre from sugar beet pulp is more fermentable than fibre from cereals. Protein utilization increased during the pregnancy, but at a very low level, indicating that the protein level in diets for pregnant sows could be lower. Inclusion of extra DF in the diet significantly increased the amount of energy excreted as CH4. Heat production was affected by diet, although not significantly (28.77 vs. 29.72 MJ day-1 in the low-fibre and highfibre diets, respectively). The utilization of ME for energy retention was lower for the high-fibre diet as a result of increased hind-gut fermentation. There was similar relation between the net energy of the standard and the high-fibre diet either calculated using the official Danish feed evaluation (0.77) or experimental estimated value (0.81).  相似文献

Ten sets of data from four experiments with individual measurements on 236 cows for one to four weeks in each of second and third months of lactation were used to determine relationships between milk composition and nutritional parameters. Effects of breed and parity of cow as well as experimental rations were removed in analysis. The estimated balance between energy intake and energy requirement for milk and maintenance was calculated from intake of roughage and concentrates together with their chemical composition and in vitro digestibility, milk yield and milk composition. Adjusted mean estimated energy balances ranged from −17.65 to 14.35 MJ NE per day; dry matter intake from 16.1 to 20.1 kg per day and % dietary roughage from 36.6 to 67.5% across data sets. Mean milk fat % was between 3.76 and 4.11% while milk protein % was 2.79–3.15% across data sets. Dry matter intake and % dietary roughage explained relatively small amounts of variation in milk fat %, protein % or the ratio of these two components after effects of ration were removed in data analysis. Estimated energy balance was negatively correlated with milk fat % (−0.07 to −0.65), positively correlated with milk protein % (0.12 to 0.47) and negatively correlated with ratio of milk fat to protein (−0.36 to −0.74) across data sets. Estimated energy balance increased the proportion of explained variation of fat:protein ratio by an average 21% to a total of 43%. In the reverse situation, fat to protein ratio increased coefficients of determination of energy balance by 19 to 52%. The ratio of contents of milk fat and protein was a more sensitive and consistent indicator of changes in nutritional variables and also a better predictor of energy status of the cow than either component by itself.  相似文献

The efficiency of utilisation of food energy by female growing minks, from weaning to adult age, was studied. The food given, pelleted according to an original technology, has the following chemical composition on a DM basis: 87.0% organic matter, 37.1% crude protein, 11.7% crude fat, 2.6% crude fiber, 35.6% nitrogen-free extractives and 13.0 per cent ash. Young minks had a feed intake, in relation to body weight, warying from 11.6 g to 58.6 g DM/d. Maximum feed intake related to kg0.75 was recorded at 700 g body weight (approximately 98 g DM/kg0.65). Digestibility of the given food expressed in DE, averaged 87.7 +/- 1.2%, while metabolizability, 82.3 +/- 1.1%. Total heat production related to the intaked gross energy, was 48.0 +/- 3.0%, and the retained energy, 34.3 +/- 4.0 per cent. The net efficiency of the metabolizable energy used for maintenance and production could not be accurately determined. However, taking to account the calculated values required for maintenance, of 649 kJ/kg0.75 in 300 to 600 g young minks, and of 607 kJ/kg0.75 in 600 to 1100 g young minks and also the maintenance efficiency, Km = 0.75, the coefficient for ME utilisation in protein and fat synthesis, of 0.50 and 0.75, respectively, it was able to determine the average ME efficiency used as net energy for maintenance and production: 70%. The highest values of nictemeral metabolism were recorded in the evening, and the lowest ones, at noon; the difference between the maximal and the minimal value did not exceed 6 per cent.  相似文献

选用体况良好,体重相近,经产2~3胎纯种小黾寒羊空怀母羊12只,随机分成3组,每组4只,分别按NRC(1978)推荐的绵羊维持代谢能需要量的120%、100%和80%饲喂。通过饲养试验、消化代谢试验及气体能量代谢试验测得小尾寒羊空怀母羊平均干物质采食量为756g,代谢能采食量力7869KJ,能量表观消化率为69.9%,代谢率为85.6%,甲烷能为总能量采食量(GEI,)的8.0%。空怀母羊在维持代态下呼吸商为0.872,畜体总产热为377.0KJ/kg W~(0.75)d。试验还证明,小尾寒羊空怀期母羊的维持净能需要为309.2KJ/kg W~(0.75)d,维持代谢能需要为408.8KJ/kg W~(0.75)d维持消化能需要为477.6KJ/kg W(0.75)d,维持效率(Km,)为0.756,热能耗为99.6KJ/kg W~(0.75)d,占GEI的14.36%。  相似文献

In a 6 x 6 Latin square arrangement, sheep of 41 kg body weight were fed myristic acid [C14:0; 50 g/kg dry matter (DM)] supplemented to two basal diets of forage : concentrate ratios of 1 : 1.5 and 1 : 0.5 and adjusted to dietary calcium (Ca) contents of either 4.2 or 9.0 g/kg DM (the latter only together with C14:0 supplementation). Various variables of energy, fatty acid and Ca metabolism were determined in combined digestibility and respiratory chamber measurements. With C14:0 addition the energy loss via the faeces increased (p < 0.05, post hoc test) without affecting energy digestibility of the complete diet. The apparent digestibility of supplemented C14:0 was higher (p < 0.01) with approximately 0.8 in the forage-based diet than in the concentrate-based diet (approximately 0.6). The elevated levels of plasma C14:0 were mainly accompanied by reduced C18:0 and C18:1 levels. The estimated apparent content of metabolizable energy (ME) of added C14:0 was either 24.5 MJ/kg (concentrate-based diet) or 32.1 MJ/kg (forage-based diet). Extra Ca equalized these differences between basal diets and ME contents amounted to 33.0 MJ/kg on average. As expected from corresponding slight shifts in energy metabolizability, the total efficiency of ME utilization increased (p < 0.1) with C14:0. The lower level of dietary Ca was still within the range recommended, but adding C14:0 to the concentrate-based diet reduced Ca retention in the body of the sheep from 0.9 to -0.1 g/day because of an impaired (p < 0.05, post hoc test) net Ca absorption, whereas no effect was found with the forage-based diet. With C14:0 addition, plasma total phosphorus (P) and serum calcitrol levels increased (p < 0.05, post hoc test) while Ca concentrations did not clearly reflect the reduced net Ca absorption. Increasing the dietary Ca content prevented adverse effects on Ca retention in the concentrate-based diet and improved Ca retention in the forage-based diet. In conclusion, the C14:0 supplementation reduced Ca availability in concentrate-based diets while an additional supply of Ca improved Ca and energy retention. Consequently, Ca supply should exceed recommended levels in diet types where dietary lipids are likely to reduce Ca availability and a compromise in basal diet type has to found to be able to profit best from the energetic value and the methane-suppressing properties of C14:0.  相似文献

This study evaluated the effect of high or low digestible energy ratio of carbohydrate in a high or normal dietary energy density on performance, amino acid utilization and intestinal functions of weaned piglets. A total of 32 healthy weaners (9.60 ± 0.13 kg) were allocated to two dietary energy densities (3,400 and 3,800 kcal/kg) and two digestible energy ratio of carbohydrate to fat (9:1 and 3:1) in a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement. There were eight piglets per treatment. The feed intake of piglets was significantly increased by dietary high carbohydrate ratio (9:1) (p < 0.01); however, this did not result in improved body weight gain (p > 0.05). The piglets fed high carbohydrate energy ratio had a reduced villus height/crypt depth (VH/CD) ratio in the duodenum (p < 0.05), and dietary high energy density further decreased the VH/CD ratio in the ileum (p < 0.01). In the duodenum, the lymphocyte count was increased by dietary high energy density (p < 0.05), while dietary energy density and carbohydrate energy ratio interacted to increase lymphocyte count in the ileum (p < 0.05). The serum cholesterol, triglyceride and low‐density lipoprotein were not significantly affected (p > 0.05), but dietary energy density interacted with dietary energy ratio to increase high‐density lipoprotein concentration (p < 0.05) in piglets fed reduced carbohydrate energy ratio. Dietary high energy density reduced energy digestibility (p < 0.05), whereas high carbohydrate energy ratio increased crude protein digestibility in the piglets (p < 0.05). The intestinal sucrase, lactase activities and serum concentrations of histidine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, alanine, glycine, tyrosine and citrulline were higher in the piglets fed dietary increased carbohydrate energy ratio. Oxidative stress markers and volatile fatty acids concentrations were altered by the dietary treatments. 1. Protein, fat and energy retentions of chicks fed on diets containing medium chain triglyceride (MCT) and long chain triglyceride (LCT), at 100 and 200 g fat/kg diet, were investigated. Maize oil was used as the LCT source. The MCT used was glyceryl tricaprylate. 2. Body weight gain and food intake were decreased with the diets containing MCT and these effects were greater at the higher fat concentration. Protein retention was also reduced by dietary MCT, although the efficiency of protein utilisation (protein retained/protein intake) was not altered. 3. The values for fat and energy retentions were significantly lower in the chicks fed on the MCT-supplemented diets than in those receiving the LCT-containing diets. Dietary ME values and efficiencies for energy utilisation (energy retained/ME intake) were also reduced by dietary MCT.  相似文献
