In order to reduce nutrient wastes to the environment the supply should be in accordance to the demand for these. Two experiments were conducted to study and quantify the effect of temperature, irradiance, and plant age on the uptake of nitrate (NO3?), ammonium (NH4+), dihydrogen phosphate ion (H2PO4?), potassium (K+), calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+), and sulfate (SO42). In the first experiment, various levels of temperature and irradiance were applied to plants in a growth chamber, while in the second experiment the uptake was studied along the crop season under greenhouse conditions. The uptake rates were calculated at 2-hour intervals through sampling the nutrient solution and analyzing it by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). Increasing light and temperature enhance the uptake rates, while the rates decrease with plant age. Nitrogen absorption was similar during the day as during the night. No differences were found in the absorption of H2PO4?, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, and SO42? between day and night. Nitrate absorption was found to have a positive correlation with the absorption of all the ions except for NH4+.  相似文献

The anionic nature and high cation exchange capacity (CEC) of clinoptilolite zeolite can be exploited to reduce ammonia (NH3) loss from urea and to improve soil chemical properties to increase nutrient utilization efficiency in lowland rice cultivation. A closed-dynamic airflow system was used to determine NH3 loss from treatments (20, 40, and 60 g clinoptilolite zeolite pot?1). Seed germination study was conducted to evaluate the effects of clinoptilolite zeolite on rice seed germination. A pot study was conducted to determine the effects of clinoptilolite zeolite on rice plant growth variables, nutrient uptake, nutrient recovery, and soil chemical properties. Standard procedures were used to determine NH3 loss, rice plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, dry matter production, nutrient uptake, nutrient recovery, and soil chemical properties. Application of clinoptilolite zeolite (15%) increased shoot elongation of seedlings and significantly reduced NH3 loss (up to 26% with 60 g zeolite pot?1), and increased number of leaves, total dry matter, nutrient uptake, nutrient recovery, soil pH, CEC, and exchangeable Na+. Amending acid soils with clinoptilolite zeolite can significantly minimize NH3 loss and improve rice plant growth variables, nutrient uptake, nutrient recovery, and soil chemical properties. These findings are being validated in our ongoing field trials.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A pot experiment was conducted to examine the uptake of nutrients (K+ (potassium) and Ca2+ (calsium)) and heavy metal (Cu2+ (copper) and Pb2+ (lead)) ions by leaves, seeds, and roots of two black gram [Vigna mungo (L.) Hepper] cultivars, ‘Mash-95018’(V1) and ‘Mash-97’(V2) treated with copper (Cu) and lead (Pb) at 25mg L?1 and 50mg L?1. This study was conducted in a greenhouse in the Botanical Garden, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan, during the spring of 2003. Heavy-metal treatments were applied 30 d after germination, and nutrient and heavy-metal ion uptake data were collected 10 d after treatment application. Both heavy metals in both cultivars substantially reduced nutrient ion accumulation and its translocation to seeds. Leaves had proportionately more K+ and Ca2+ than that recorded for roots and seeds after heavy-metal treatments. Nevertheless, both heavy metal (Cu2+ and Pb2+) ions ware predominantly sequestered in the roots, rather than in leaves and seeds, under their respective treatments. As the external concentrations of heavy metals increased, their uptake by the respective treated plants also increased, but nutrient ion (K+ and Ca2+) uptake was gradually reduced. This result suggests a concentration-dependent phenomenon. Overall, lead (Pb2+) showed more toxic effects on the uptake of essential nutrients compared with Ca2+, while ‘Mash-97’proved more sensitive to heavy metals than ‘Mash-95018.'  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Effects of three supplemental calcium (Ca++; 2.5, 5.0, and 10 mole m?3) concentrations on ion accumulation, transport, selectivity, and plant growth of salt-sensitive species, Brassica rapa ‘Sani’ in saline medium were investigated. Supplemental Ca++ in the presence of 125 mol m?3 sodium chloride (NaCl) did not improve the dry weight and leaf area indicating no role played by Ca++ in the alleviation of salinity induced growth inhibition. However, calcium chloride (CaCl2) did significantly affect sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), and Ca++ contents of roots and shoots. The ion contents of shoots were significantly greater than those of roots per g dry weight, indicating ion transportation to shoots is greater than ion accumulation in roots. Use of CaCl2 in 125 mol m?3 NaCl reduced the Na+ content but increased K+ and Ca++ contents in shoots. Sodium contents in shoots differed among the supplemental Ca++ treatments indicating the role of CaCl2 in Na+ ions transportation. Calcium content in shoots declined significantly in the control treatment (0 CaCl2) but increased significantly in 10 mol m?3 CaCl2. The root also showed the effects of Ca++ on the reduction of Na+ content and the increase of K+ and Ca++ content. Unexpectedly, 5 mol m?3 CaCl2 induced the highest Na+ content in roots at 16 days after treatment. Supplemental CaCl2 application influenced the K+ or Ca++ selectivity over Na+ in two ways, ion accumulation at roots and transport to shoots. However, high CaCl2 treatments allowed greater Ca++ selectivity over Na+ than low CaCl2. Likewise, high supplemental CaCl2 showed higher K+ selectivity over Na+ than low CaCl2. A marked increase in K+ versus Na+ selectivity for the transport process occurred at 10 mol m?3 CaCl2 treatments. The roots and shoots exhibited higher K+/Na+ and Ca++/Na+ ratios in high CaCl2 treatment than in low. The results are discussed in context to supplemental Ca++ concentrations, ions accumulation, transportation and selectivity of salt sensitive Brassica rapa cultivar.  相似文献

Nutrient solution composition plays an important role in root uptake rate due to interactions among nutrients and internal regulation. Studies to determine the optimum nutrient solution concentration are focused on individual ions, ignoring the adaptation mechanisms triggered by plants when growing in a varying external nutrient concentration. The objective of the present study was to determine the response in growth and tissue ion concentration of lilium cv. ‘Navona’ to nutrient mixtures of varying proportions of nitrogen (N), potassium (K+), and calcium (Ca2+) in solution using mixture experiments methodology in order to determine the optimum concentration. Bulbs of lilium were transplanted in plastic crates and drip-irrigated with the treatment solutions, which consisted of a mixture of N, K+, and Ca2+ whose total concentration was 340 mg L?1 and minimum concentrations of each ion was 34 mg L?1. Chlorophyll concentration (SPAD), shoot fresh weight (FW), leaf FW, and leaf area were measured 60 days after transplanting and ion analysis was performed on shoot tissues from selected treatments. Lilium exhibited a moderate demand for N and K+ (136–170 mg L?1 N and 116–136 mg L?1 K+) and a very low demand for Ca2+ (34–88 mg · L?1). This low demand may be due to the remobilization of the nutrients stored in the bulbs. Integrating the predictions of the models estimated to produce >90% of maximum growth, the optimum nutrient solution should contain Ca2+ at a concentration between 34 and 126 mg · L?1, K+ between 119 and 211 mg · L?1, and N between 92 mg · L?1 and 211 mg · L?1. Increasing external N concentration affected internal N concentration but not internal K+ or Ca2+ concentrations, despite that the increase in external N was associated with a decrease in external K+ and Ca2+. Similar trends were observed for external K+ and Ca2+ concentration. In conclusion, lilium was able to maintain a relatively constant K+ and Ca2+ concentration regardless of the lower concentration in the nutrient solution when N was increased (similar response was observed for K+ and Ca2+) and it has a low Ca2+ demand and moderate N and K+ supply.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of nitrogen (N) and potassium (K) stress on nitrate (NO3 ?) and potassium ion (K+) uptake of two sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) cultivars known to differ with regard to their resistance to drought and salinity stress. The plants were hydroponically grown in a greenhouse and subjected to varying levels of N and K. Nitrogen and K stress increased root affinity for NO3 ? and K+ absorption by increasing apparent maximum uptake rate (Vmax) and decreasing apparent affinity (Km) for NO3 ? and K+ uptake in both cultivars. In addition, dry-matter allocation to roots increased with decreasing N and K supply. The results suggest that the acclimation to long-term N starvation in sugarcane involves regulation of both nitrate-specific assimilatory steps and growth responses. The cultivar ‘H69-8235,’ which was drought and salinity resistant, showed greater adaptability to a low- nutrient environment due to its higher root allocation and affinity for NO3 ? and K+ under N and K stress, suggesting that the resistance of sugarcane to multiple stresses may involve a general stress-response system.  相似文献

The effect of increasing chloride content in nutrient solution on nutrient composition in root environment, interaction of nutrients in leaves and yield of greenhouse tomato cv. ‘Grace F1’ grown in rockwool were searched. In Experiment I (2004–2005) the levels of 15, 30, 60, and 90 mg Cl·L?1 but in Experiment II (2006) 30, 60, 90 and 120 mg Cl·L?1 of nutrient solution were tested. The sources of chloride were water (9.6–10.7 mg Cl·L?1) and calcium chloride (CaCl2·2H2O) but the rest of nutrients and sodium in all treatments were on the same levels. It was found that increasing content of chloride from 15 to 60 mg Cl·L?1 enhanced the total and marketable fruit yield. Within the range of 60 to 90 mg Cl·L?1 the yield was on the optimum level but the content of 120 mg Cl·L?1 declined it. Increasing chloride content in the nutrient solutions was reflected in rising of chlorine content in leaves. The concentration of chloride above 60 mg C·L?1 reduced the content of nitrogen but above 90 mg C·L?1 declined the content of calcium, sulfur and zinc in leaves. The antagonism between Cl:N, Cl:Ca: Cl:S and Cl:Zn was appeared. More variable interaction were between Cl:K and Cl:B. At the low levels of chloride, from 15 to 60 mg Cl·L?1, potassium and boron content were decreased but at the higher ones, from 90 to 120 mg·L?1, these nutrients had increasing course. It was not found out the effect of chloride contents on macro and microelement contents in nutrient solution emitted from drippers however their content upraising in root medium (rockwool). The highest increase was found out for Na 95.1 and 64.9 % (Exp. I and II - respectively), next for Ca (76.0, 70.1 %), Cu (62.5 and 71.0 %), Cl (43.6, 24.4), B (33.3, 21.0 %), N-NO3 (30.4, 49.6 %), Zn (29.5, 32.8 %), S-SO4 (25.9, 25.5 %), K (24.5, 24.1 %), Fe (19.8, 19.2 %), Mn (17.5, 21.3 %) and Mg (14.9, 11.7). Advantageous effect of chloride on tomato yield justified the need to introduce for the practice adequate chlorine nutrition, and recommend to maintain 60 to 90 mg Cl·L?1 in nutrient solution. The best yield appeared when content of chlorine in leaves (8th or 9th leaf from the top) was in the range 0.48-0.60 % of Cl in d. m.  相似文献

Under conditions of limited nutrient supply, plant nutrient uptake is controlled by the external concentration of the ions. Limited information exists about the whole-plant regulation of nutrient uptake when the supply is adequate. To study the relationship between growth rate and carbon dioxide (CO2) assimilation with nutrient uptake, growth chamber experiments were conducted with temperatures ranging from 10 to 35°C at medium (600 µmol m?2 s?1) and high (1200 µmol m?2 s?1) light intensities. Nutrient solution samples were collected every 24 hours and the concentration of ions was analyzed by Inductively coupled plasma -atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) and nitrate and ammonium (NO3?/NH4+) conductivity. Leaf photo-synthesis was measured using a closed gas exchange system and the total amount of CO2 assimilated was calculated from dry weight increases. The daily absorption of NO3?, Total nitrogen (N), dihydrogen phosphate (H2PO4?) and potassium (K+) responded linearly to plant growth, while ammonium (NH4+) and sulfate (SO42?) uptake showed a curvilinear response. All the ions studied showed a curvilinear relation with CO2 assimilation.  相似文献

In the present study, seven fertilizer treatments [T1, 50% NPK; T2, 100% NPK (Recommended dose of fertilizer, 200–65.4–124.5 kg N-P-K ha?1); T3, 150% NPK; T4, 100% PK; T5, 100% NK; T6, 100% NP and T7, control (zero NPK)] with four replications were assessed in the new alluvial soil zone (Entisols) of West Bengal, India. The objectives of the study were to generate information on potato productivity, profitability, indigenous nutrient supply and net gain/loss of NPK in post-harvest soil. Plants grown under higher NPK supply resulted in higher tuber yield and there were significant (p ≤ 0.05) reductions in total yield with nutrient omissions. Nutrient?limited yields were 19.78, 2.83 and 1.77 t ha?1 for N, P and K, considering total tuber yield (28.24 t ha?1) obtained under 100% NPK as targeted yield. Indigenous nutrient supply of N, P and K were estimated at 24.1, 22.34 and 110.22 kg ha?1, respectively that indicates higher K?supplying capacity of experimental soil as compared to N and P. Net income (US$1349 ha?1 year?1) and B:C ratio (1.91) was highest with 100% NPK, and further addition of NPK (150%) resulted in decrease on net return (US$1193 ha?1 year?1) and B:C ratio (1.73).  相似文献

Most plant nutrients are optimally available when soil pH is close to neutral. In this experiment the effects of Thiobacillus and Mycorrhiza on nutrient uptake and grain yield of maize were studied on an alkaline soil as a factorial experiment with randomized complete blocks design. Treatments consisted of Mycorrhiza fungi (M): inoculated (m1) and noninoculated (m0), Thiobacillus (T): inoculated (t1) and noninoculated (t0), and sulfur (S) (S0, S1: 250, and S2: 500 kg ha?1). Inoculation of Mycorrhiza, Thiobacillus, and S application decreased soil pH and increased grain yield and seed oil content. The lowest soil pH and the greatest S content were obtained from the combination of Thiobacillus and 500 kg ha?1 S. Inoculation of Thiobacillus and S application significantly decreased root colonization. The greatest iron (Fe) content was in the combination of Mycorrhiza inoculation and 500 kg ha?1 S. Grain P content significantly increased with Mycorrhiza inoculation and S application. The greatest grain yield obtained from combination of Thiobacillus with 500 kg ha?1 S.  相似文献

One pot experiment was conducted to study the effects of a new polymeric slow release fertilizer (PRF) on Chinese cabbage growth and soil nutrients. The experiment comprised three kinds of fertilizer (common compound fertilizer, 21% and 45% solubility of PRF in 25°C water, all fertilizers with N:P2O5:K2O = 10:5.7:20) and three fertilizer levels (0, 21.6 and 43.2 g m?2). Results showed that the high water-soluble PRFs (PRFHH and PRFHL) fit nutrient requirements of Chinese cabbage, and the high fertilization level significantly increased yield and improved quality of Chinese cabbage. Although the PRFHL treatment at 21.6 g fertilizer m?2 had one-half less supplied nutrient than that of common compound fertilizer treatment (43.2 g fertilizer m?2), the yield of Chinese cabbage with PRFHH and PRFHL was 8.0% more. The soluble sugar, vitamin C and leaf chlorophyll contents of Chinese cabbage can be effectively improved with PRFHH (43.2 g m?2), PRFHL (21.6 g m?2) and PRFLH (low water-soluble PRF, 43.2 g m?2). The PRF treatment reduced the nitrate content and improved soil capacity of supplying nutrient effectively, and there were no changes in values of pH and electrical conductivity of soil.  相似文献

Abstract

Despite the importance of nitrogen (N) supply to plants, there are still doubts concerning the optimal relations of ammonium and nitrate in the nutrition of yellow passion fruit seedlings. This study aims to evaluate the interaction between nitrogen concentrations and ammonium and nitrate proportions in the nutrition, growth, and dry matter production of passion fruit seedlings grown in a substrate with a nutrient solution. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse in randomized complete block design with three replications in a 4 × 5 factorial design, consisting of four N concentrations (2.5, 5.0, 10.0 and 20.0?mmol L?1) and five ammonium proportions (0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% in relation to the total N supply). At 60?days after transplanting, green color index; accumulation of N, potassium, calcium, and magnesium in roots and shoots; stem diameter; leaf area; root length; nitrogen use efficiency (NUE); and dry matter of roots and shoots were evaluated. For the formation of seedlings of yellow passion fruit, the nutrient solution should have 13?mmol L?1 of N, with 40% of this nutrient in the form of ammonium. The passion fruit is a plant tolerant to ammonium. However, a critical concentration above 5.7?mmol L?1 of NH4+ in the nutrient solution decreases absorption of cations, NUE, and production of dry matter.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We studied the effect of integrated nutrient management (INM) combinations on supplement of plant nutrient for quantitative and qualitative fruit production in sapota. Thus, 17 combinations of INM practices were evaluated on fruit yield of sapota and nutrient availability in a Vertisol of Chambal region, India. The results demonstrated that almost all treatment combinations comprised of recommended dose of fertilizer (RDF), i.e. 1,000:500:500 g NPK plant?1 with application of organic and inorganic sources of nutrients had a significant effect on the fruit yield of sapota, soil microbial biomass, NPK content of leaf, fruit and soil over control (T1). Among different treatments, application of 2/3rd part of RDF + 50 kg FYM + 250 g Azospirillum + 250 g Azotobacter plant?1 (T11) significantly enhanced the number of fruits plant?1 (327.88), yield plant?1 (29.03 kg) and yield ha?1 (4.52 t). However, the soil microbial count of fungi (8.89 cfu g?1 soil), bacteria (11.19 cfu g?1 soil) and actinomycetes (5.60 cfu g?1 soil) at fruit harvest was higher under the 2/3 of RDF +10 kg vermicompost + 250 g Azospirillum + 250 g Azotobacter plant?1 (T15). The leaf nitrogen content (N, 2.03%) was higher in T15, while phosphorus (P, 0.28%) and potassium (K, 1.80%) content were higher in T11. It is evident that treatment T11 increased fruit yield by 32% in Sapota cv. Kalipatti compared to control. Therefore, combined application of nutrient sources proved not only beneficial for enhancing fruit yield of sapota but also sustaining soil health in Chambal region of south-eastern Rajasthan.  相似文献

The effect of soil potassium (K) supplies on the yield and nutritional status of maize and on interactions between the nutrients was examined in a long-term mineral fertilization experiment on maize. The experiment was set up in 1989 in Hungarian Great Plain, Szarvas on chernozem meadow soil calcareous in the deeper layers, with four levels each of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) supplies. The present paper describes the results of K fertilization in the 7–19th years of the experiment, from 1996 to 2008. The ammonium (NH4)-lactate (AL) potassium oxide (K2O) content of the ploughed layer ranged from 200 to 550 mg kg–1 depending on the K fertilization level. No significant yield surpluses were recorded in any of the 13 years in response to the better K supplies ensured by K fertilizer. The results of leaf analysis indicated that the K concentrations representing satisfactory K supplies at a grain yield level of 10–14 t ha–1 were 2.3–4.3% at the 5–6-leaf stage and 1.5–2.6% at the beginning of tasselling. When the AL-K2O content of the soil was above 200–320 mg kg–1, K– calcium (Ca), K–magnesium (Mg) and K–copper (Cu) antagonism was observed in the nutrient concentrations of the maize leaves in most years. The limit values of satisfactory nutrient supplies for maize in the 5–6-leaf stage and at the beginning of tasselling were 0.25–0.60% for Ca, 0.15–0.40% for Mg, and 7–11 mg kg–1 and 2–11 mg kg–1, respectively, for Cu. In dry years the iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn) concentrations of maize leaves declined at higher soil K supply levels.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Field experiments were conducted during the 2017 and 2018 cropping seasons, to evaluate the effects of biochar (B) and poultry manure (PM) on soil physical and chemical properties, leaf nutrient concentrations, growth, mineral composition and corm and cormel yield of cocoyam. The experiment each year consisted of 4 × 2 factorial combinations of B (0, 10, 20 and 30 t ha?1) and PM (0 and 7.5 t ha?1). Results of the study indicated that in both years, the application of B and PM alone, and in combination, improved soil physical and chemical properties, leaf nutrient concentrations, growth, mineral composition and corm and cormel yield of cocoyam. There was a significant interaction effect of B and PM (B x PM) which was adduced to the ability of the B to increase PM-use efficiency and promote better use of the nutrients in the PM. It was found that combination of 30 t ha?1 B and 7.5 t ha?1 PM (B30+ PM7.5) gave the highest corm and cormel yield of cocoyam compared with other treatments. The combination of 30 t ha?1 B and 7.5 t ha?1 PM (B30+ PM7.5) exhibited the highest impact and is therefore recommended for soil sustainability and cocoyam productivity on sandy soil.  相似文献

Abstract

The SPAD‐502 chlorophyll meter was evaluated as a rapid tool to predict plant nitrogen (N) concentration. The SPAD‐502 index utility, as a comparative tool with respect to N nutritional status, was evaluated for Laurustine (Viburnum tinus L.), tobir (Pittosporum tobira Thumb.), and strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo L.). The effect of sampling time on the SPAD‐502 index measures was also evaluated. Two sand culture experiments evaluating 1, 3, 5, and 7 mmolc · L?1 of total N concentration in nutrient solution and 70/30, 50/50, 40/60, and 30/70% nitrate/ammonium (NO3 ?/NH4 +) ratios were applied. In a media experiment, with similar conditions and fertilization, the accuracy of the SPAD‐502 regression data was evaluated. Leaf, root, and sap samples were taken in the middle and at the end of each experiment. Regression equations were established among leaf N, root N, of sap N analyzed concentrations and SPAD values with regard to global, as well as specific, data within each sampling time. Regression coefficients (b) among leaf N and SPAD were highly significant (P<0.05) for practically all sampling times. However, liner regression equations were different in all treatments among all the sampling dates. Determination coefficients (R2), in some cases, show that the SPAD‐502 index is not an adequate method for leaf, root, or sap N concentration fir Viburnum tinus L. and Pittosporum tobira Thumb. or for root or sap for Arbutus unedo L. in these experimental conditions. Nonetheless, the SPAD‐502 index could be a useful tool for relative comparison purposes and field operational nutrient management. However, the SPAD‐502 leaf greenness meter is a relatively good tool for leaf N and nutritional diagnosis for Arbutus unedo L. within the 38–66 SPAD‐502 index range.  相似文献

Replacing new corn genotypes in agricultural practices requires adequate information on the reaction of the selected hybrids to Cd uptake in Cd-polluted soil and an understanding of interactions with N fertilizers. A 2 × 2 × 3 factorial pot experiment with limed soil (pH 8), two maize (Zea mays) hybrids (Pioneer cultivar yellow and Pioneer cultivar white), two N fertilization forms (NH4 + and NO3 ?) and three Cd exposures (0, 2 and 5 mg kg?1 soil) was conducted under greenhouse conditions. Shoot dry mass increased significantly with NH4 + nutrition compared with NO3 ? nutrition in both maize hybrids, with greater negative influence of Cd application combined with NH4 + nutrition. The yellow cultivar had significantly greater shoot dry mass and lower Cd uptake than the white cultivar. Both hybrids exhibited similar N uptake in shoots and roots, with the exception of yellow cultivar with NH4 + nutrition without Cd application. NO3 ? nutrition always decreased Cd uptake in both cultivars compared with NH4 + nutrition. The N balance (mean across cultivars and Cd supply) after harvest showed most N uptake with NH4 + nutrition (63.4%) and Nmin remains in the soil with NO3 ? nutrition (48.7%). Soil pH decreased more with NH4 + (?0.95 pH units) than NO3 ? nutrition (?0.21).  相似文献

Field experiments were carried out during rainy (kharif) and winter (rabi) seasons (June–April) of 2008–2010 at Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, to study the productivity, nutrients uptake, iron (Fe) use-efficiency and economics of aerobic rice-wheat cropping system as influenced by mulching and Fe nutrition. The highest yield attributes, grain and straw yields (5.41 tonnes ha?1 and 6.56 tonnes ha?1, respectively) and nutrient uptake in rice was recorded with transplanted and puddled rice (TPR) followed by aerobic rice with Sesbania aculeata mulch. However, residual effect of aerobic rice with wheat straw mulch was more pronounced on yield attributes, grain and straw yields (4.20 and 6.70 tonnes ha?1, respectively) and nutrient uptake in succeeding wheat and remained at par with aerobic rice with Sesbania mulch. Application of iron sulfate (FeSO4) at 50 kg ha?1 + 2 foliar sprays of 2% FeSO4 was found to be the best in terms of all the yield attributes, grain and straw yield (5.09 and 6.17 tonnes ha?1, respectively) and nutrient uptake and remained at par with 3 foliar sprays of 2% FeSO4. Although residual effect of iron application failed to increase the yield attributes, yield and nutrient uptake nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (N, P, K) except Fe. The highest system productivity, nutrient uptake, gross returns, net returns, B: C ratio and lowest cost of cultivation were recorded with aerobic rice with wheat straw and Sesbania aculeata mulch. Application of FeSO4 at 50 kg ha?1 + two foliar sprays of 2% FeSO4 was found better in respect of system productivity, nutrient uptake, gross returns, net returns, B:C ratio and cost of cultivation in aerobic rice-wheat cropping system. The Fe use efficiency values viz. partial factor productivity (kg grain kg?1 Fe), agronomic efficiency (kg grain increased kg?1 Fe applied), agrophysiological efficiency (kg grain kg?1 Fe uptake), physiological efficiency (kg biomass kg?1 Fe uptake), apparent recovery (%) utilization efficiency and harvest index (%) of applied Fe were significantly affected due to methods of rice production and various Fe nutrition treatments in aerobic rice and aerobic rice-wheat cropping system.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Soil acidity is one of the main limitations for optimal use of land resources for better crop production. And, long-term fertilization experiments found to be helpful in increasing the nutrient supply in these acidic soils. Keeping this in view, a field experiment on rice was carried out by applying biofertilizers and enriched compost in an acidic Inceptisol of Assam over 10 successive years (2006–15) to examine its effects on nutrient availability and soil enzymatic activity. This experiment had five treatments viz. absolute control (T1), 100% recommended doses (RD) of inorganic NPK (T2), 50% RD of inorganic NP + 100% K +biofertilizers (T3), 50% RD of inorganic NP + 100% K +1 tonne enriched compost ha?1 (T4) and 25% RD of inorganic NP + 100% K +2 tonnes enriched compost ha?1 (T5) under randomized block design with four replications. After completing 10 years of experiment, it was observed that integrated use of enriched compost and biofertilizers with reduced doses of inorganic fertilizers enhanced the soil enzymatic activity as well as nutrient availability in rice grown in acidic clay loam soils of Assam. Application of biofertilizers and enriched compost had positive impact on plant accessible nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in soil as compared to inorganic fertilizers. Also soil organic matter content increased considerably by these treatment. Integrated nutrient management practice in rice had also significantly enhanced the dehydrogenase, fluorescein diacetate and phospho-monoesterase activity in soil.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The interactions between salinity and different nitrogen (N) sources nitrate (NO3 ?), ammonium (NH4 +), and NO3 ? + NH4 + were investigated on Indian mustard (Brassica juncea cv. RH30). Treatments were added to observe the combined effect of two salinity levels (8 and 12 ds m? 1) and three nitrogen sources (NO3 ?, NH4 +, and NO3 ? + NH4 +) on different growth parameters and mineral composition in different plant parts, i.e., leaves, stem, and root. Salinity has been known to affect the uptake and assimilation of various essential nutrients required for normal growth and development. Different growth parameters, i.e., leaf area, dry weight of different plant parts, absolute growth rate (AGR), relative growth rate (RGR), and net assimilation rate (NAR) declined markedly by salinity at pre-flowering and flowering stages. All growth indices were less sensitive to salinity (12 d s m? 1) with the nitrate form of nitrogen. It is pertinent mention that a high dose (120 kg ha? 1) of nitrogen in ammonium form NH4 +, acted synergistically with salinity in inhibiting growth. Plants fed with combined nitrogen (NO3 ? + NH4 +) had an edge over individual forms in ameliorating the adverse effects of salinity on growth and yield. Under salt stress, different nutrient elements such as N, phosphorus (P), potassium (K+), and magnesium (Mg2 +) were decreased in different plant parts (leaves, stem, and root). The maximum and minimum reduction was observed with ammoniacal and combined form of nitrogen, respectively, while the reverse was true of calcium (Ca2 +), sodium (Na+), chloride (Cl?), and sulfate (SO4 2?) at harvest. Nitrogen application (120 Kg ha? 1) in combined form had been found to maintain highest concentrations of N, P, Mg2 +, and Ca2 + along with reduced concentrations of Na+, Cl?, and SO4 2 ?. However, reverse was true with ammoniacal form of nitrogen.  相似文献
